DH and I were at Sears In the back of the swimsuit department,I found these GREAT suits. They come in sizes up to 26W. The one I loved has shorts[not to short] and a seperate long top that tucks into the shorts or can be worn out over the shorts.[what I like is the top can be worn with jeans] They also had the the same sort of style in a one piece. The prices are $72.[I never thought DH would go for that price, but he did! He said it looked so good,I had to have it]the trim is lime green!! It was meant to be!!!

Tank top over shorts bottom? They also have some
they call mock-tankinis; they look the same, but the top is floating over a control panel, so they are really attached. I've been considering getting one of those since I first saw them.

Now I have to start lifting weights so I won't have Pooh-chi arm syndrome!

When I was pregnant, I got a gift cert for a nice department store. (I only went 2 months between pregnancies, so new clothes were a great lift!) Anyway, "where is the maternity department?" "On the other side of the bathing suits!" Thanks, guys! Walking through those cute little suits was NOT the morale boost I was hoping for!

Aloha,
I did a search to find this thread.
I wanted to publically thank Tink for giving me a hint that has done so much for my ego. :)
We have no Sears on island, so we had to wait for our vacation. Our first stop was Las Vegas, and first day I was off to Sears. I immediately identified the suits you referred to. They actually looked good! :D Unfortunately the one I really liked was not in my size. So I decided to chance it and wait until we got to Florida. It was the biggest gamble I took in Vegas! ;)

Our next stop was at my parents winter home in Melbourne. First day there I asked my father to take me to Sears, and I found my suit in the size I wanted. I have never in my life spent so much on a bathing suit! But it is well worth it. I feel good in my suit and living in Hawaii, I will be sure to get my money's worth. If I could I would have bought more than one.

I have been back one month now and kept meaning to come here to thank you Tink. I am sorry it took me so long. You were so right. I am now a grandma that doesn't have to wear an old fashioned granny suit and I have a kind name to call my matured body shape. ;)

A lei of aloha to someone who is very grateful.

I just came over to check the "sandals" board, only to find it has changed to the "bathing suit" board!! :D

Land's end also has some cute things. Not sure about the exact sizes, but they sell matching shorts for some of the one pieces.

It's probably too late for Sears now, but thanks for the info - i'll check it out next year (especially if I'm pregnant again)!

I found some very cute suits on www.Justmysize.com (http://www.Justmysize.com) that run about $55 - $57. I haven't ordered from them before but I'm going to give them a try. They also had some cute dresses and short sets at reasonable prices.

The suits at Sears. they aren't your typical, kind of suit!! My suit is a modest Tank Top [with a bra]thats long, long enough to go over the shorts or tuck it in and have it stay put![which are NOT like the Lands End, only for ulta skinny mini's]these shorts have enough coverage to cover your butt and thighs. This suit covers my problem areas, while being an interesting, cute, new style, that makes me look good!! And now I can go swimming without looking like a Whale in a my grandma's 2 sizes too small swimming suit.

THIS IS SUCH AN IMPROVEMENT,IT WAS WORTH TELLING OTHERS ABOUT!!!!

tink2dw? I'm a short, 5'1", Pooh-sized mom and haven't even considered a bathing suit for many years now. Being petite, height-wise anyway, is a major problem for me! I need to hide almost everything just to go out, let alone a bathing suit!

Anybody have suggestions for short, 22 Pooh-size Mom? <IMG WIDTH="15" HEIGHT="15" SRC="/infopop/emoticons/icon_redface.gif" alt="red face"> <IMG SRC="/infopop/emoticons/icon_confused.gif" alt="confused">

And the suit I chose Has a modest Tank top with 2" wide straps [it's Black w/Lime Green Trim!!]and a bra,The shorts are Black and about 3" above the knee, and have a panty in them, and are a slight loose fit short, they have a two inch wide elastic waist band.

I think you would love this suit!! Check it out at Sears!! :D

Airhead- Are these suits true to size? They look great on the skinny model, but what about a pooh sized big chested girl? Is there any support in the top? I think I want to order one, went looking for a suit today....very depressing. Thanks in advance!

I was sorry to hear they're not available! You might want to get their catalog(they have really nice clothes)so that next year you'll be able to order one as soon as they come out. And yes they are true to size, very comfortable, and very well made. Its the first bathing suit I ever had and really felt comfortable wearing. Last year
I bought the black suit(LOVE IT!) And this year I bought the flowered print. I can tell ya, for the first time in years,I'm comfortable jumping in the pool!!

Thanks everyone! I went to Sears today & got myself a Pooh sized swimsuit. LOL It's the best fitting one I've had in years. I probably never would have looked & just stuck with my older ones. Hubby even likes it.

It looks like tank top connected to shorts - one piece. Navy blue with thin white & lime green strips connected to navy blue shorts. Love it. I'm ready for Typhoon Lagoon!!!!!!!!

Pooh Sized. hehe!!! Love it!!! I just wanted to say that alot of stores carry pooh size suites now as well as alot of other clothing items. I think thats great!!!

Yesterday I went into a store and the fist one I picked out actualy worked and I purchaced it!!!! That was so nice. I cant bring myself to order over the internet. I have a pooh sized GF that does and she is fine with that.

Recently my soon to be XXXXX DBF has been making comments on my weight. (why he is soon to be X!!!) When I put my new suite on I looked GREAT. He can just eat his heart out!!!! All those mean comments cant be taken back!!!!!

I am happy with me....thats what counts!!!

I am also a Pooh shaped Mom with a different problem not mentioned here before. I need a built in bra that gives SUPPORT! Most all suits now days, have the flimsy shelf bra that doesn't hold you up at all. Well, after nursing five kids, my upper half has gone south if you know what I mean? Two little old pancakes that don't stay in those no support cups. Any ideas would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!!! I am desparate!!! (Also need to cover up the old thighs-pretty sad!)

It was funny reading this post because it was as if I wrote it. I bought that exact style suite about 2 weeks ago and DH squeezed his teeth together with a forced smile when I told him the price. I bought mine at Fashion Bug though. Why are bathing suits so outrageously priced!! Anyway, the style is great for me and I figured, why not? I guess that's why they price them so high, they figure that's what we'll say if we really like it.

Okay, after searching the web, and being told by everyone that they were sold out of the suits with shorts, I went to my local Walmart. I really was trying to put off spending big bucks on a swimsuit!! Well, I got one for $25! I bought the solid Catalina suit comes in regular sizes,1x,2x,3x, and about 8 different colors for $14. Then I matched it up to a pair of $10 Catalina shorts that feel like a bathing suit. They come in prints and solids!! :D

Laurenk-I went to WDW so early in the Spring[I was looking for a suit in FEB.] that Wal-Mart didn't have any suits out for Pooh sized Women!!

But I'm glad you found a suit there that works for you!!![my Dd got a skirt that went over her suit!] Did you see any shorts in black fabric that has lines in it?? that kind would match Dd's suit and she needs shorts this year??

They had black shorts with little flowers trimming the pockets, then black shorts with blue, burgandy, or olive green piping up the sides. Those were only up to XL though. They seem to be getting more and more shorts each day, I am a BIG WalMart shopper!! ;)

I've seen similar suits in the JC Penny Catalog and also in the Chadwicks of Boston Catalog. you can check out Chadwicks on line at www.chadwicks.com (http://www.chadwicks.com) they have one with the shorts that is only $39 and goes up to 24W.
