Just booked with Southwest today. We got r/t fares for four at 83.00 each!
This is 300.00 cheaper than we had originally booked with Comair! Had no trouble
getting a refund for the Comair flight (that was cancelled). With the extra savings,
we'll be able to stay in the parks an extra day! I've been walking on air
all day long!

I wish we could get a rate like that!! We are flying to Orlando from Kansas City Dec. 19 and returning Dec. 27 on the cheapest flights, but our fare comes to about $200 pp with taxes. These are on dates that aren't blocked out of the 66% off promotion. Hope I'm not doing something wrong!

M&Emom - I have a question. Have you been checking the SW rates daily, or did you just recently check these? I'm wondering if your fares were lowered in the last couple of days or if they were lowered for the 66% off sale and you're just now catching them. I've been checking SW daily and am wondering if there is a chance of the rates dropping any more before this 66% sale goes off. This particular sale ends July 30 so I don't have too much longer to wait, but I'm curious to know if they drop fares even more in the middle of a sale. Am I making any since? Or just babbling? :D Thanks for any help.

Thanks for the lead, but those fares to and from Tampa are gone for our travel dates. Looks like we'll have to stick with the $200 pp tickets we have in and out of Orlando.

luv2travel,
How much more would you like? I think 66% is pretty significant. I doubt they will drop any further.

Gail Hayden - I'm getting a rate of $147 for Birmingham, AL to Orlando when others from around the country (and much farther away) are getting rates lower than $100 (for the same timeframe) . I know I've seen rates around $80 on SW from Bham to MCO, so that's how much lower (at least around $100) that I'd like to see them go;) . The SW sale is UP TO 66% off. Obviously Alabamians are not getting a total 66% off or it would be much lower.

I just happened to check the rates on Thursday and did not see the internet special at that time. When I checked back on Friday, the internet special (30.00 one way) was advertised. I had no trouble booking our return flight, but had to search a bit for our arrival flight. I think I just got really, really lucky.
