hi just closed on the bwv, 154 pts. oct use year thru
the Timeshare Store. Need some help. We had to pay the
full maint. fee for the year,even though we closed in june.
is that always the case? The nice part is that the old
owners banked the 154 from the last use year. In Oct.
We will have 308 pts. On wait list for Nov. 7 thru 12,
any place. Already booked for May 18 -27 at bwv,studio.
We bought 1994 at okw, but chickened out. A mistake. DW and DD
DD are pumped. This forum is great. thanks

hi: welcome to the board and Welcome Home! we still occasionally kick ourselves for not buying in 93 at okw, so don't feel too badly. you'll find the biggest "complaint" on this board was not buying in sooner. you are absolutely going to love bwv! the location is great, and walking to mgm and epcot help us to work off some of the goodies we indulge in. don't you think the 154 banked points were worth the maint. fee? sounds pretty good to me. if you do make the wait list, maybe we'll see you there; we'll be there from 11/6-11/12.

We had to pay the full maint. fee for the year,even though we closed in june.
is that always the case?

Maintenance fees are part of the negotiation. DVC does prorate the fee thru the end of the year, but the resale brokers seem to look at it a little differently and usually expect them to be paid by the buyer completely.

In this case it sounds as though, with the banked points you have, paying the fees was not too bad of a deal.

WE too waited too long to buy in--4years!! WE only wish we would have done it in 1993 when we first thought about it. Instead we waited until '97 and added on in '99. We now have 380 OKW points and still wish for more!;)
