Hi everyone,
We are thinking about renting a car for a few days when we are at WDW.
We want to visit SeaWorld as well and do some nonDisney-shopping.
Is it possible to rent a car at the resort? We are staying at PopCentury and at PortOrleans French Quarter.

Not to my knowledge, but someone else may know differently.

I have read a number of posts about car rental at the Swan or Dolphin. I'm sure others will have more info. This will "bump" you to the top.

You can rent from them at either the Dolphin or at the Car Care Center located near the entrance to MK.
If renting from the Dolphin, you can catch a bus there from the parks, or take the Friendship boat from either Epcot or MK. The rental office is in the lobby of the Dolphin.
I have never rented from the CCC but I've heard they do have shuttle service and will pick you up at your resort - I'd call and ask if you use this option.
Hope this helps!!!! :cool1:

Thank you Travelin' Tigger, that helps.
Do you know what company has a rental office in the Dolphin?
I have an AP and I get some kind of discount with it, but maybe that's another company.

I think Budget and Avis have offices at some of the Downtown Disney hotels also,

Budget is at the Double Tree in DTD. I know Avis is in one of those hotels, possibly the Hilton but i'm not sure. If you want to rent from a DTD hotel it is very simply. Just take a bus to DTD and the hotels are literally right across the street from the Marketplace.
Hope this helps!

Your AP code will bring you a discount with National, but I have found that the AP discount is not the significant.
See this link http://www.mousesavers.com/rentalcar.html for oodles of rental car discount codes anyone can use, legally!
Best of luck,

Thank you soo much, really nice discounts overthere :D
I also found this on the same site :
"National still has locations on the Walt Disney World property. If you are staying at any of the Disney resort hotels and just want to pick up a car for part of your stay, have the hotel's front desk staff call and arrange for a shuttle ride to the Car Car Center. (It's best to request this the night before.)"
So we really will be driving in the USA
This may seem a bit odd for you, but okay I am European

Please be aware that National and Alamo were not taking walk-in rentals over the Thanksgiving weekend. I was there to drop off one car and pick up another (split rental to maximize my coupon savings :earboy2: ) and they were turning people away because all the cars they had on property were reserved. If you plan to pick a car up, do yourself a favor and make a reservation ahead of time.

We had a small crisis and needed to rent a car while we were at the GF...They provided a courtesy car/driver to what I think was an alamo rent-a-car real close by...

Fromeurope, I am sure that driving in the US will be a fun experience.
I see you are from the Netherlands. I spent three months in the Netherlands when I was in college (many years ago). It is a beautiful country and hopefully I will be able to visit again sometime and see more of it than I did.

Don't think it will be so crowded when we are visiting WDW. Last year we were there in the same week and that really is low season. But thanks for your advice!
Kylara, that's nice that you enjoyed your stay in the Netherlands so much.
It sure is a nice little country, isn't it? Hopefully you will be able to return some time.
