My husband and I will be in WDW on Valentine's day. We are taking the kids to MK that day, and after the park closes, we are going to have grandma watch them so that we can go out for dessert or something to celebrate Valentine's day. Any suggestions would be GREAT!!!!!!!!!!

Why don't you two go over the Pleasure Island and take in some dancing and music, then head over to DTD to Ghirradelli's for some outstanding ice cream treats and snacks.

First I have to say I have never had a "Bad" Dessert at WDW :mickeybar not I will try to help you. 1st you have to decide if you want to be at a park or a resort.

If you want to go to a park then maybe try Epcot get some things at the Counter service place at France & a nice drink Maybe a Royal Kir then watch Illumanations very romantic.

Or at the resorts-Kona Cafe has wonderful desserts then go down to the beach hang out in a hammack & wait for the Eletric Water Parade. CG will more than likely be booked that nite. Or try any place at GF.Again hang out on the beach. Artist Point has some great desserts also. I think the MK resorts would be the most romantic.

We just got back last night and I have to say I didn't think Ghirardelli's was anything special at all. Had I not had a coupon for the sundaes I would've thought it was a rip off! Beaches and Cream's sundaes rocked compared to Ghirardelli's, I thought.

Our best dessert of the entire trip was the Volcano at RFC. That was closely followed by cheesecake in France and the No Way Jose at Beaches.

I'll second the Kona Cafe - only because the Poly is so romantic for a stroll around the beach and grounds - with the fire lamps lit and the lush foliage.

I agree with the above posters - Kona Cafe is the BEST place for desserts. I haven't had a bad one there yet! :) Afterwards, it's nice to take a stroll around the torch lit path and then watch Wishes from the beach lounging on a hammock. A very romantic night!

We've found BeachesN'Cream to have the best overall desserts at WDW. I also agree, however, for atmosphere, go to Kona Cafe and enjoy afterwards on the beach.

The 'volcano' dessert at Kona Cafe is wonderful (rich and decadent). Plus, if you like coffee, they have wonderful coffee.

We also enjoy the berry cobbler with cinnamon ice cream at Artist Point.

Those are the two that stand out the most, but it's hard to find a 'bad' dessert!

I'll go along with everyone else who recommends Kona Kafe. You can't beat the Koko Puffs! :cool1:

Yep, definitely the Kona Cafe. :D We even went there right after we got engaged, to celebrate!

The dessert chef from Kona was at one of the Party for the Senses this year. Oh. My. Gosh! WOW! He really outdid himself there.

Hands down, the best dessert I've had at WDW was the Banana's Napoleon at the Flying Fish Cafe on the Boardwalk. It was amazing, amazing, amazing. Layers of creme brulee and fillo dough, and homemade caramel sauce and fresh bananas over the top.

No doubt I would say the Grapefruit cake at the Brown Derby

I also have never had a bad dessert at WDW. We thought Coral Reef's "chocolate wave" was pretty memorable! Our CM told us that it officially gets voted "best dessert at wdw" every year. It's been a while since we had it, but I remember it as sort of a chocolate lava cake with some grand marnier sauce. yummy!

I have to second the vote from scrump for the "Chocolate Wave"...WOW plain and simple...

But like alot of others.. the Kona Cafe as some desserts that are out of this world... the volcano dessert is one that is at the top of the list.

Good Luck! :smooth:

The berry cobler from Artist Point is to die for. I'm also a huge fan of the strawberry shortcake served at the Garden Grill! :)

Our favorite last trip was a chocolate bread pudding at Le Cellier. It, however, doesn't seem to be on the menu currently.

(I have dreams about trying that banana napolian)

Off the top of my head:

My husband really enjoyed the baklava selection from Marrakesh.
I found the key lime creme brulee at Narcoosees to be too sweet.
No one was overly impressed with Zebra Domes at Boma - though they are really popular
The cheesecake off the buffet at Biergarten was suprisingly good. As was the strudel.
But Le Cellier was the best hands down. Not only was the bread pudding fantastic, but my kids still talk about their Chocolate Moose (which was tasty as well as cute).

(For the record, I don't like Krispy Kreme's - too sweet - and have a chocolate fetish).

I really liked a sundae at 50's with carmel corn as well as ice cream, fudge, etc...

The Kitchen Sink at Beaches & Cream is the most fun. We really enjoy the pineapple and Carmel sauce at O'hannas. :teleport:

I agree. The Banana Napolean at the Flying Fish is one of the best desserts I have had anywhere.

Well, my favorite dessert at WDW used to be the Bananas Napoleon at the Flying Fish; however, over Thanksgiving, I went to FF in order to enjoy my favorite dessert only to discover at the end of a fabulous meal, that the recipe has been changed!!! The creme brulee is now mixed together with whipped cream, and there are no warm bananas in the caramel sauce!!! After taking two bites, I called the server over to tell him how disappointed I was in the dessert. He said the pastry chef is experimenting with the recipe and he has received several complaints about it so far. It will be interesting to see if the original version will win out. I won't be able to get back there for another year to find out, though. :sad1:

DH and I totally agree. I've never had a better sundae.

We thought Ghiradelli was horribly overrated. We've also tried the Kona Cafe Coco Puffs dessert and the chocolate souffle at the Flying Fish. THey were good, but the No Way Jose we had twice during our 6 day stay.

It was spectacular.

I haven't had very many desserts at the world 'yet' :smooth: But I fell in love with the apple cranberry cobbler with cinnamon ice cream at LeCellier. It was FABULOUS.

The napoleon and the chocolate eclair at Boardwalk Bakery are outstanding. You could enjoy a treat from there and then stroll along the water... My concern would be that the sit down places will be packed for the holiday, part of that will depend on what day of the week it falls though.
