I have ressie's for a one bedroom villa at Wilderness...this is our first stay at this resort...all our previous visits have been to Old Key West......any suggestion on room requests and are the rooms quiet?...I always stay on the top floors at Old Key West to minimize the 'noise factor'....any suggestion for Wilderness....what about view request????....................

Your choice of views is pretty much woods or pool. BTW, welcome to the DIS.

WE were on the 3rd (of 5) Floor, right about the middle of the building, and our room was pretty quiet, so I think they must have done a pretty good job insulating the villas. We also had what was considered the 'bad' view when they were being built (looking toward the parking lot), but as you can see from the picture in the link under my signature, it's a pretty nice 'bad' view!

yes these seem much quieter than the BWV or OKW - we stayed in a studio with an 1-bedroom next door and didn't heard them until the last day. we were both out on the balcony.

The quiet factor was one of the reasons that we chose VWL as our home resort. We stayed on cash on the second floor that faced the walkway coming from the WL (we could easily see the Mickey topiary from our balcony.) We could hear children when they were running on the wooden walkway, but very faintly. Almost as if they were off in the distance somewhere! Hope you have a great trip!

Does anyone know if you can walk out of the first floor rooms to the pool area?

I do not know this from personal experience, but from reading the DIS it is my understanding that you don't have a walkway to the pool. Each patio area has landscaping around it and you would have to cut thru the bushes to walk to the pool.
We are taking our first trip to VWL on tuesday, I am requesting a higher floor mainly because someone mentioned having bugs on your patio from having the bushes right there. I rather not have any extra mosquitoes around!

I have just booked a studio at VWL with an AP discount. I chose water view as opposed to woods. I am assuming we will be overlooking the quiet pool. Is that correct? Also, how does the size of the studios compare to BWV or VB studios?
