Car rental help needed

I need to have some expert advise so here I am to the board.

I need to rent a minivan from December 16 until January 3 from Connecticut (BDL), unlimited mileage, 6:00 p.m. in both cases. I am coming up with very, very high prices. I do have the entertainment card, Costco, AMEX.

Any help would be appreciated. This is putting a damper on our Christmas trip. Due to a recent medical complication, DF cannot fly now and we are stuck without suitable transportation.

Do you have a Disney VISA? The best rate I could find so far is $695.86 total with Alamo using the discount info on Mousesavers.com for minivans for $199/week. I'll try looking a little more, but that's probably the cheapest weekly rate. Wherever you rent, just make sure it's unlimited miles or it could really get expensive!!!

I came up with 617.00 for ten days, unlimited mileage, and then 20.00 off total though Avis. I am going to keep checking though, maybe something else will come up.

Have you looked at any local rental companies in your area? I know that for Girl Scout trips we have sometimes rented thru some local car dealers and others and found it much cheaper. Grab the yellow pages and strart dialing.
