does anyone elso get this message from National?

I have booked a rental car using a coupon for our next trip. But now when I go back to check the rates for my dates, it won't take my coupon and I get the following error code:

Error
The request returned the following errors
Coupon capacity control conflict for rental location

Does that mean they are no longer accepting coupons for that timeframe? (the week after Thanksgiving), Or am I just doing something wrong? I'm a newbie at this car rental thing.:confused: :D

it sounds like coupons are capacity controlled for a location much like airplane seats are capacity controlled for discount fares. In another words, it sounds like they have a limit on the number ressies they will take with that coupon for a certain time period at a location, and that currently, that limit has been reached.

I'd try again in a couple of days, inventory could change.

I have a reservation for 11/23 to 12/2 and I have been getting the same message!

I wonder, do these coupons have any blackout dates in the fine print?

I don't believe there are blackout dates on the codes I am using because I already have a reservation for the time frame - and I have had several others that I cancelled each time I got a better rate. I continue to check the rate a few times a week by trying to make a new reservation. I just started receiving the above mentioned error code this week.

I think you have run into the notorious "BLACKOUT dates may apply" statement that's on almost all of the car rental agency coupons. The same error message pops up when you try to use most of the coupons over Labor Day Weekend. I would imagine that Thanksgiving and Christmas would be subject to coupon capacity controls also. If your were able to make your ressie before they updated the reservation program, Congratulations!:)

Megansmom...wow thats a great rate out of Mpls. Is it one connection? Remember, sometimes you can fly out of Rochester lower than Mpls especially on AA and NWA. The entertainment card discount is l5% flying out of rochester and only 5% discount flying out of Mpls.

I just booked AA out of rochester and am meeting my son (who is flying from Mpls) in chicago enroute to orlando. in about l0 days.

Two weeks ago NWA had flights for $2ll from Rochester connecting in Mpls and a direct flight from there for $2ll with ent. card. All times of the day.

TWA out of rochester to St Louis is a option sometimes too.


My lowest fare ever of Mpls was a late niter to Orlando $l55 rt. Not worth flying at nite.

CoolMom13 - Those are our dates too!:D I have a car reserved for Nov. 23 through Dec. 1. I was able to use a the coupon on the reservation that I currently have, but can't seem to use it again.:rolleyes: Pbhunt could be right, we may have just lucked up and gotten (is gotten a word?) the discounts early enough before they blacked those days out. I guess $148 for a full size for a week is a good price anyway, or at least I'm happy with it.:D ;) Hope you have a great trip, and don't forget your ribbon!:)

The last 2 visits to Orlando I've run into this message. I was able to start using the coupon again about 2 weeks before we left. Just keep trying and don't let it get you down.

I think that error message means that they will only accept a certain number of coupons over a specific time period. I was getting that error message for Labor Day weekend also. I already had a reservation using the coupon. My flight times changed and we were coming in way earlier than expected. Whenever I tried to change the time (leaving everything else the same including th coupon), I kept getting the capacity control message. Finally, because I had to change my times, I just canceld my reservation and immediately booked a new reservation and the reservation system then accepted the coupon code. I have done this twice once for the time change and once when a better rate came up.
