Anyone getting or already have the Color Pixter for their kids? My DD is almost 2 1/2 and she is more like a 3 1/2 yr old. Just curious if the Pixter is too advanced for her? Or will it be a good toy to grow into?

My then 10yr old DD wanted one last year......
I think she's about 10 seconds from outgrowing it but I think at 3 your daughter will get much more use out of it. They have easier software for little ones.
I would get the carrying case for it since the screen could get scratched.

We have the first one that came out and my daughters 4 and 6 still play with it.

I need to get one for my 5 year old DS. Unfortunatly my lovable but mainly terrible 2-1/2 year old son threw it last night and broke the screen. Both were histerical crying.
JetsFan, do you know how much they are, he had the b/w one but thought I would get him the color one this time. He really loves it and plays with it all the time.

Be careful if your child is a lefty. My son had one, and it was not lefty friendly. The string that attached the stylus to the Pixter was too short. I don't know if Fisher Price ever changed this (we had one of the early versions - I did call & complain).

What is a good price for mini-pixters? I saw them for 11.99- are they any fun?

I bought a b/w one for my dd's 8th b-day and all of my kids, 8,7,5 and 3 year olds all play with it, but we haven't tried the color one yet, it looks really cool and my dd wants one, but it's soooo expensive :earseek:
Oh, and my dd is left-handed, too, and she didn't have a problem with it so maybe FP fixed it. ?? They had already come out with the color one when we bought the b/w one.

My DD's both 6 got the black and white one when they were 4 and still play with it. The Color Pixter is on thier "Santa List" and I got it for them. They also just came out with a neat Digital camera attatchment that goes with it this year, so they are getting that too. My girls were 4 when they got it so your 3 1/2 year old should like it fine if she is older for her age!

My youngest is a lefty and doesn't have a problem...we also have the first version.
