possible to link reservations?

I read earlier that someone had successfully linked reservations made at OKW by points with a cash CRO reservation, so it seems like it works for DVC resorts.

If we were to book 6 nights at the GF, paying cash for saturday night (hoping for AP discount!) and then points for sunday-thursday nights, would the reservations be able to be linked together so that we don't have to check out and check back in? Does anyone have experience with this?

When we did a similar thing, they did it automatically. We just made sure they knew we were DVC members for the cash portion.
