I lost 30 lbs. last year following Dr. Phil's Weight Loss Solution? I have gained back 10 pounds in the last couple of months, so I want to go back on it. I'm going to start the 2-week Rapid Start Monday. Is anyone else following this plan? I've read a few posts here and there of people on the WISH board who have lost weight using this plan.

I've been on his plan since 10/03 and lost 58 pounds doing it (I'm one of the leaders of the Atlanta Dr. Phil support group). I hit a plateau and have modified what I'm doing somewhat. However, to me the food plan isn't the best part of the book, it's all the suggestions for how to change your thinking that really work. It's been a long road and alot of hard work, but our lifestyle has honestly changed and my thinking is completely different. Instead of being down on myself, I have faith I can accomplish anything I really want.
What to eat and when to exercise is the easy part--the hard part is learning how to stop compulsively overeating. I'd always used food as a way to numb myself when something was bothering me. Giving that up has been an ongoing struggle, but I've definitely made progress. Last month my husband was hospitalized overnight with chest pains and they weren't sure what was wrong (he's fine, thankfully). I was worried sick and part of me thought about getting some chocolate. Then I really thought about it, and I realized I could be worried and feeling guilty about what I ate, or just worried. I decided just being worried was the better choice.
Sorry this response got so long-winded, I'm just passionate about the program. I wish you all the success in the world!

Yes, the emotional part of eating is a big deal for me. I've been back on Rapid Start for 3 days, and I already feel different, and not just physically either. I have much more energy and don't seem to be prone to depression. Do you find yourself going back and rereading or doing the exercises in the book again?
I really want this to be a permanent lifestyle change, but I find that when I was following the maintenance part of the plan I didn't feel as good as I did when I was eating less sugar, flour, etc.
