Howdy everyone,
Mutt, My SIL bought some liquor and he flew home today. All of it had to be in his checked luggage. So we wrapped it with bubble wrap and lots of clothing in hopes it wont get broken. You know how luggage is handled in the airport!! Nice and gentle.
One bottle got broken at the port in his suitcase and all the clothes now smell like rum, so DD had to start laundry right away when we got home.
DCL sent a letter to all staterooms with requirements for the airport for their guests and basically everything liquid has to be checked.
Ok I will do this report as brief as I can and in 2 or 3 posts because there is so much to say and I still have a lot to do. Plus you wont be bored for too long at a time. I will post a detailed report on the cruise reports thread later in the week, if you are interested.
Ok, we headed out for the port about 8:00 a.m. relieved that Chris had went away. But of course the GK's didnt know we were going on a cruise. They believed we were headed for Cocoa beach.
DH told them, lets see if we can pull in and take some pictures of the ship while we are going by. Of course they asked for our ID and asked if we were all going on the Magic and DH said yes. My GD whispered to her mom, grandpa is going to get in trouble, he just lied to that man so we can take some pictures of the ship. She didnt catch on. She is 15 and GS is 12. We pulled up and got out to unload the luggage and Ana still looking perplexed asked " What are we doing?" Andy just stared at us. So I told her, Well, I dont know about you, but I'm going on a cruise!!! Then I got out of the truck.
It finally started to,sink in what was going on. They were all happy and talking about it, asking who all knew about this and for how long. Then Ana declared i dont have any clothes to wear !!!! I just brought shorts, tank tops and a bathing suit!!! But her mom said yes you do, I packed for you in my suitcase, even a formal and semi formal. They were amazed how we kept it from them.
Greg told them it was a 4 day cruise to Nassau as we entered the terminal and they were all excited about 4 days. A few minutes later they figured out it was a 7 day to the caribbean. They both agreed not to believe us anymore about anything again!!! ( in a good way)
As we sat in the terminal we met many dis board members. They found us so easy because my daughter had purple hair!!! It was great fun, plus they all asked the kids if they were surpirsed. The GK's thought the entire ship knew they were coming, accept them. :rotfl2:
We had boarding pass #3 so got on right away and headed up to Topsiders for a quick lunch and a stroll around deck, before going to our room.
We had a great verandah this time. Our luggage arrived about 2:30 so I was all unpacked before going to the 3:00 dis meet in the Promenade lounge.
We met lots of great people whom we saw all around the ship during the week and even had a couple of families near us at dinner. It really added so much fun to our trip to see all these people over the week and visit to see how they liked the cruise so far.
We got out late dining changed on board to early. Lumieres the first night. We checked in and they said NO, you are suppose to be at Animators Palate. we said OK, but the head diningroom manager called and told us Lumieres at 5:30. Anyway someone escorted us down to AP, where they looked up our change and said NO you are in Lumieres tonight. So they called back to Lumieres and talked to the man who sent us there and he agreed that we should be there, so they escorted us back to Lumieres and had us stand in the main walkway there til they figured out where to put us. People were already about done with their main course when we were seated.
Our waiters did catch us up quickly and with many appologies throughout the night. We thought it was kinda funny, didnt upset us at all. Then the next day they told us to go to Lumieres again at 5:45 for dinner and that would be our permanent table. They told us the people who changed to late decided to stay in early the first night and it threw everything off because we were suppose to be taking their place.
So they seated us and here came other people who had been assigned to that table. They quickly switched table numbers with them and seated them behind us, which is where we should of been. Guess they fgured we didnt need to be moved again, but it was their fault seating us at the wrong table. We thought it was all funny and a new experience to start off an awesome cruise!!!!
Now I will back up some to the sail away party. They had a new band called The Breakers. 2 of the members had been with the Charles marshal band, the others we didnt recognise, but they were very good. It was a good lively crowd which made it even better. They did do a couple of things differently than before, which was fine, but when they did the count down to sail away, it was only 10 to 5:00 and they didnt shoot off the streamers as they have done on all our other cruises. I was kind of disappointed in that because I always take a piece of the streamers to put in the album I make for each cruise. Overall it was agreat party with nice weather. We did pull out a little late but i was on deck 10 waving my Mickey hands at everyone along the channel.
Another first for us this trip, besides having a daughter with purple hair, was our room host. We could understand everyword he said and we could pronounce his name, Clifford. For those of you who have sailed before you know what I am talking about. Plus he didnt do any towel animals, he made them with our blanket. They were awesome and much harder to make them with one blanket as opposed to 2 or 3 towels that some use. I will post pictures later.
after dinner we were off to the welcome aboard show which was very good. It featured Mike Super and John Charles. John actually used to work at MK in the Diamond Horseshoe revue as a singing cowboy. We recognised him. We did talk with him later and we were right. He was very good!!!!
Then we stopped by shutters to buy our boarding picture. We walked around deck and through some halls looking for door signs, only saw a couple, but most disers wernt on our floor.
Then we went to bed around 11 because we were pooped from a long day that started about 5:00 a.m.
All of our family was out until 2 or 3 a.m. They have a lot more energy than this old lady does!!!
One thing I forgot to mention was upon arriving in our room we had a nice gift basket that our DD had ordered for us!! Shirley did an awesome job. We were in shock, though t it must of been in the wrong room, but it was for us.
The return gits were nice too. when you check in they give you a lanyard for each person with 2 pins, then in your room is a nice beach bag with a variety of things that came in handy during the cruise. Wont list them so you can be surprised. If you really want to know just PM me and I will tell you the details.
The other days wont be quite as detailed, so not as long of a report, I thnk, so enough for now. day 2 later.

day 2
early breakfast at topsiders
swimmimg
Matinee of Golden Mickeys, and for those who are interested, Roy disney os back and Whoppi is gone from the show. Seems more Disney like now.
Excellant as usual.
crafts made a picture frame
A :3dglasses art of Entertaining series, watched make crab cakes as an appetizer with samples afterwards.
DD and I tired Crusin for Trivia we got 18 of 25, so not too bad. DH took a nap during this time.
we strolled the decks and visited with fellow disers a lot
Lumieres again 5:45 dinner, very good
7:30 family show with Mike Super-- Magician and comedian
Weather turned rainy and windy, closed the pools all evening due to bad weather. waves onluy got 8 to 13 feet, not bad at all.
9:30 Live music The Breakers and Mike Supers adult comedy show, more music
grabbed some late night snacks,
back to room, read next days Navigator
Day 3
Slept in until 6:45 a.m. That is sleeping in for us!!!
Beautiful sunny skies, calm seas
DH and I had breakfast at Topsiders and met up with DD and GK's.
DH and I went to crafts and made fish windchimes
Then DH and I learned to make paper airplanes
DD and I tried the Crusin for Trivia 2 and got 20 out of 25, we are improving!!!
DH took nap during this time.
Art of Entertaining was a berry cobbler, got the receipr for that one and the crab cakes.
Behind the scenes in the Theater featured Oren Aviv the new man in charge of movie productions at Disney. He showed us a lot about the making of movies, especially the Pirates movies and he showed us a movie trailer for the 3rd Pirate movie that has never been seen before!!!! It was very interesting and lasted about an hour. They gave out pirate themed prises too, but we didnt have the lucky numbers.
I also did the cake and plate decorating class which was alot of fun. Plus they cut the cake and served it to the people there at the end of the presentation.
Tonight was John Charles family show, later was his adult show, we went to both, very good shows, really funny.
music, snacks and bedtime
Day 4 St. Maartin
beautiful 80 degrees, slight breeze.
water on beaches just like pool at home.
We were the only ship in port so all the vendors approached you over and over again!!!! That was tiresome, but w edid lots of shopping and strolled along the beach.
DD had told the GK's that they were doing the butterfly farm tour, but they really did the Regatta sailing excursion. AWESOME is how they described, even though Marie got 2 large bruises and they lost the race. Marie said she would highly recommend it, but it is very physical to do.
This is pirate night and after dinner, DD, GD and myself headed for the Preludes area because Captain Jack Sparrow would be arriving soon for photos.
He was great!!! Since we had our pirate outfits on it was a great picture. Only one per family due to the long lines. we arrived 20 minutes early and we were about 4 families back from the beginning. 5 minutes after we arrived you couldnt see the end of the line. So go early if you do this. He will speak to you too. I will post the pictures later on.
Party had changed some, they did some good improvements. Great weather and nice buffet afterwards. Fireworks were great. as usual. It was the most crowded Pirates party I have been too yet, very popular!!!

Hi again,
I will try to finish this up quickly.
Day 5 St. Thomas
calm seas again, sunny 80 degrees.
Up early for immigration which went very smoothly and quickly.
DD's snorkeling excursion got cancelled due to mechanical problems so they did the tram up the mountain side. They loved the view.
We just shopped because we are saving excursions to do with our DS on this trip. Saw lots of new stuff, even a few new shops.
I went to the sail away party and the lead lady singer had hurt her ankle in port and had to be carried to the stage to sit on a chair for the rest of the cruise. You could see she was in a lot of pain as she perfromed.Several characters strolled around the decks for pictures that entire late afternoon, they did this a few times which was nice for everyone since there wasnt any lines.
Lumieres again for dinner
changed entertainers at this port. they brought on Greg Kennedy a juggler and Rich Purpura a comedian.
They both had very good shows, both for families and the adult ones.
This evening the princess roamed the hallways for pictures.
very tired so retired about 11.
Marie and family never got to their room before 2 to 3 a.m. They did it all!!
Day 6 sea day
Slept in til 6 a.m.
Topsiders for breakfast
calm seas, in the 80s again, no rain, a little windy on deck.
Today was seafood buffet, if you like seafood, this is your day!!!!
DD and I did the towel folding which was fun
watched bar juggling
ice carving
AP for dinner tonight
Disney Dreams for the show
Rich Purpura show was excellant
Breakers played 70's night music. very good and great costumes from the 70's.
we strolled around and visited with lots of dis board members too.
snacks and off to bed midnight
Day 7 CC
HOT HOT HOT!!!
It was in the 90's no breeze at all until very late in the day.
snorkeled. saw large Baracuda and sting ray as well as colorful fish.
Lots of pictures along the way.
Flying dutchman was awesome to see!!
DH and I had our picture taken on the island with Capt Jack Sparrow with the Dutchman in the background, great pic. will post later.
Lunch at serenity bay, T-Bone steaks as well as burgers
back to shop some then back to ship.
It was too hot to to our usual bike ride and walk around.
we just went back and enjoyed a quiet ship. DD and family stayed until around 4 p.m. They got sun burned !!!
Ana did do the Banana boat ride with a teen friend and loved it.
I packed, filled out forms, changed and went to Parrot Cay for dinner then the Farewell show, and the talent show, bought pictures from on the island, retired to room, watched Toy story in the TV.
day 7
worst day of all!!!
They made us leave the ship!!!!did see a few dis board people to say goodbye to as we left.
Minnie went crazy when we got home. DS said she slept the first 3 nights in front of the door waiting for us to come home, of course she wont let us out of her sight.
I didnt give alot of details because I didnt want to spoil some surprises for first time cruisers. But if you have any questions about something specific, just PM me and I will try to answer them for you.
Cant wait to go again,
Kathy
We all mostly shopped there.

Have a great afternoon..

Denise....you gave me a great idea for a new thread--I think I'll try it out here first, though....
How many of you folks have people that are so very very tired of hearing about our cruise? I can think of quite a few between Woo and myself. I think the line I hear the most often is from my best friend in the world who refuses to have anything to do with Disney, cruises, vacations of any kind, fun...those kind of things. "Yeah....you're going on a cruise....how wonderful for you...it was exciting news the first 500 times you told me....is there ANYTHING else I can tempt you into talkin about?"
I guess the bad thing is I'm fairly comfortable with my obsession.
Great to have ya back, Kathy...
Enjoy whats left of the weekend, kids....

:confused3 I am very confused as to why other people dont want to listen :listen: about "our" cruise. I think that this is a very facinating topic. :teeth: Well at least I have my sister who also likes to talk about this subject to talk too. Then this way we just drive everyone else nuts and we are happy in our own little "cruise world". :rotfl2: :rotfl:

Thanks for the review, Kathy! I'm sure Minnie will not let you out of her sight now! Did you ever go over to Piglet's Pantry in downtown Mt. Dora?? You really should take a look at it ... you'll go crazy! :dogdance:
So fellow Banana Heads  , I have a confession to make. I really wasn't into this whole "let's all dress up like a pirate" talk for the longest time. Then, lo and behold, I told Bill a few weeks ago, "Hey, let's rent POC so I can see what the whole fuss is about." Well, since that viewing, I have a new obsession  -- putting together my "perfect" pirate outfit! (OK gals, you'll understand this: 1/2 the outfit from Kohls, 1/2 from Target!) I just spent the entire afternoon working on my accessories while OUTSIDE -- in the driveway! -- and watching POC again on my portable DVD.http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i2/woogal/2765.gif Do we really have to wait another 3 months??? :bored:
Have a great, quick week!!!

Good morning everyone!!!
Well we finally got a good amount of rain last evening. That is the most we have had all summer. We normally have rain like that everyday in the summer. I am really glad to have it. Now we need to empty some water out of the pool.
We are not up to much today. Our company will be here for another 2 weeks. They are still asleep. I think they are still pooped from the cruise. I think 2 a.m. was the earliest they ever got back to their cabin.
I am off tot he post office to mail off some castaway cay shorts I bought for another dis board lady and that is my only goal for the day.
Shell, I have not been to that store yet. We are pretty close to Eustis so I will check it out. I am still learning what is in my immediate area.
Bill, I dont know if people are tired of hearing about our cruise, I dont let them get a word in when I am talking so they cant complain about it!!
Minnie likes to hear me talk to her about it, she listens very intently and never complains.
have a great Monday everyone,

:dance3: Good evening everyone. Well just any FYI if anyone is interested....I'm having a hot flash..!!! :rotfl:
So I did get some of my cleaning projects done today. So tomorrow is another day and I have a few more projects planned. Great way to spend a week of vacation.
Well DH just had a "moment" with the two dogs. They get along pretty good until we give them a chew. Well my dog Jack, always gets a chew after dinner. So naturally he was waiting at the pantry door for his chew. (now I know that I shouldnt as this causes...shall I say a little problem) But I also dont want to change his routine since Louie is here. So I gave them each a chew. Well this started the barking, which they do, when they get the chews. They sit there and just keep barking??? :confused3 So DH flew up out of his chair, grabbed the chews and put them away. Well Jack (my dog) is like what the heck??!! Now he is over here looking, like what the heck did you do with my chew....
Well they have finally settled down, I have a dog on each side of me just lying there. We'll see how the rest of the evening goes. (this is going to be a very looong year) :rolleyes1
Have a great evening everyone.....

Good morning,
Denise it sounds like you have your hands full with 2 dogs!
My son brought his lab, Poncho over saturday afternoon when he came to visit. Minnie has never been socialized with other animals yet, we had our hands full for an hour or so!!!!
Poncho totally ignored Minnie while she whoofed and snarled. he just wagged his tail and jumped into the pool to cool off.
When ever he came by us for attention Minnie went nuts, we had to hold her tightly on her leash and talk and comfort her for ever it seemed.
Finally she realized he wasnt a threat or someone to be jealous of.
Then she drove that poor OLD dog nuts. She wanted to play like any young dog, by running and jumping around. She jumped over him a few times, ran circles around him and sniffed of his ears and mouth dozens of times. Poncho is a few years old and a BIG dog, way over 100 pounds, he DOESNT do puppy play. It was quite an afternoon around here.
If there was a market for dog hair I would be king of the industry!!!!
Today I am off to the movies with Marie and the grandkids.
Hope everyone has a great day.
Lynn, i just finished reading back posts and saw the picture of DS, he is just so cute, cant wait to see him in person!!!

Hey Bob...I ran into some of your friends on my walk yesterday morning. I walk near a historical farm in our area and every year they hold a re-enactment of a civil war battle. I was stopped by a garrison of confederate troops moving acrossed a path. I told them that we would soon be moving towards Atlanta and that they WOULD respect OUR author-ata.
Anyways...
Have a great Sunday, everyone....
Stay cool.
Just remember, we may have lost the war of northern aggression, but we took a few yankees down with us, so you better be careful!

Hi Everyone! I would like to introduce myself and my family to you all. We are the Gallagher's - Kelly, Don, Megan (10-11 at the time of sailing) and John (7) We will be sailing on this cruise and we can't wait. This will be our 3rd Disney cruise. The first was in 2003 - 4 day Wonder, the 2nd was 2005 - 7 day Western and now we get to do the Eastern. My DH booked this cruise while on the last cruise.
From the few posts I've read from this thread it looks like there won't be any shortage of fun from this group :lmao:
We look forward to getting to know you all.

Hello Fellow Nanas:
I've been off the DIS boards for a couple of weeks as our WV kids were here and then work gets in the way of my DIS time. I've spent some of my evening catching up on our thread.
WELCOME Steve (sptweedle), Katie (kt7491) and Kelly (dkmjgal)! So glad you and your families are joining us on the Magic.
Lynn - your little guy is so cute! Grandchild #6 (Samantha who is 7 weeks old) will be baptized in a couple of weeks.
Our friends, Bob and Gitta, Dave and I will be having dinner and brunch at Palo. Besides signing Dave up for a fishing trip on CC, Palo is a must do for him.
Kathy: Glad you had a wonderful week on the Magic. Did you go to the crew talent show Friday night? I have a DVD from a 2005 performance. That is another must do -- the crew talent show.
Have a great week everyone.

DutchsMommy - Add me to the list to contribute if we have any children from MAW on our cruise. Isn't Shirley a gem!? We have had the opportunity to visit her and Norm in their shop twice in the past 2 years. We're hoping to stop by the morning of our cruise.

We have a .pdg that woogal put together with info like out names, kids w/ ages, a pic of the fam, cabin #, dining rotation etc. If you PM her I am sure she could update the list. Woo - feel free to slap me if this is a lie :teeth:
Jan - Shirley will advise if there is a MAW family we can help. Apparently there are quite a few - like 25/week - but I think alot of them are at WDW. It's great that so many get a MAW but sad that there has to be that many in the first place. We are also planning on popping in to see Shirley. We will be in Cocoa Beach the Thurs before the cruise and so will have some time on the Friday to visit. I am going to ask her to do up a basket for DS so will drop off a few things. I might even take a boot up to DTD and grab one of those pin-trading starter kits (do they have them at DTD??) as I think he would enjoy that!
Sorry I haven't posted in a while - and I KNOW you have all missed me like a sore toe :rolleyes1 . Things have been pretty busy at work and home. It is definately seeming like summer is coming to an end up here so we are desparately trying to wring every possible iota of fun out of it before it is gone. The only thing making it bearable is our upcoming trip. :woohoo:
I think we are pretty set for the trip. Flight, ressies, hotel before, rental car before all booked, cruise paid, excursions picked, *most* clothes organized. Still outstanding is Pirate costumes - still trying to justify the $$ for the really cool ones on ebay, formal attire choice of outfit - go for tuxes or just suits for the boys (decisions decisions!) and I think that is about it. Gotta ask my sis to house and dog sit (yes, another dog lover here). Our doggie is named Huck and she is part boarder collie part something else. I adopted her from the Humane Society 12 years ago and she is still going strong. :dogdance:
Gotta go - talk to ya'all real soon (TiggerKing that ya'all was for you ;) )

:dogdance: Hi Kelley and welcome to the "bunch" :rotfl2:
I guess a lot of people on this board see me as a bit of a loonie
(you may hold your tongue---Wendy, Bob, MY WIFE.....and the rest of ya....). Now Mutt you know we love ya ,right Bob. You'll see Kelly we are one big lovable group.
Denise pleassssssse by me a ticket too, I LOVE    Toby he;s my imaginary redneck boyfriend. I have had the chance to see him 3 times here in new orleans and the last from the 2nd row. I took DS and he begged me not to scream and embarass him, I told him he should have stayed home then. I have some great pics from that concert.
I lucked out on the dog sitting problem my sister has 3 black cocker spaniels Toby( named for her doggy aunt's fake boyfriend) Tinkerbelle and Princess Mia. Well I ad the pleasure of babysitting for a week while they were on vacation last week. So before I agreed I got her to agree to keep my sweet one also a black cocker named Disney Dog. can you sense a theme in our family.
Well tomorrow is DS first day back at school :teacher: so yea for me :cheer2: and awwwww for him :rotfl2:
Have a great day ya'll (OK really I have to go watch my guilty pleasure Big Brother, please don't judge.)

Hey Wendy, I'll keep you in mind. DH is getting tired of me dragging him to the shows. We have been to his last 3 shows here. So this year when I said, hey Tobys coming in September, were goin right??? :teeth: He's like I dont know I'm starting to get tired of Toby..... :bitelip: How can you get tired of Toby? So he says, if you can get really good seats, I'll go, otherwise, forget it. So I would love the first 15 rows. The closet I had was last year and that was row 36...So I will be on this darned computer working on getting some good seats. The thing with this venue is, before the show in the evening, they are having a "warrior party". So for 50.00 extra you can buy an additional ticket and go behind stage to spend time with Toby. Now I really like him, but he makes a heck of lot more money than me. So I'm gonna keep my 50.00 and just throw it in my gas tank to pay for my gas to get there and back home. :rotfl: So when the pre-sale tickets go on sale tomorrow afternoon, all of these "warriors" (fans) from all over are bitting at the bit, to get tickets...crazy  ..I'll be happy if I can get signed on at noon.
Well I'll let you all know tomorrow if were goin or not.....

Kelly - I'm sitting in New Jersey right now (Cape May County). Are you from North or South Jersey?
Kathy - LOVED your trip report! I am SO ready to go....NOW! I'm anxiously awaiting your Captain Jack picture even though I know in my heart of hearts that it's not my Johnny. Johnny Depp's not coming to CC, is he? It's not going to happen, is it? Now THAT would be the piece de resistance! Forget that old Flying Dutchman - bring me my Johnny! pirate:
Happy Day everyone - it's one closer to our trip!

Welcome Gallagher Family! :dance3: Glad to have you aboard!
I am not making a single comment about Mutt's statements. Too easy a target to hit. No challenge!
Well, we are having horrible humidity here in Georgia. It may only be hitting the upper 80s, but the heat is miserable due to the humidity. Only about another month to go, and then we are into the blessed season! Nothing beats fall in Georgia!

Good Morning Everyone!
WOW :yay: Thanks for making us feel so welcome here!
I would love to add our names to any list you might have....that would help me get a better handle on who else is here. If anyone wants to break it down for me feel free!
We are in Central Jersey...about 1 1/2 to 2 hrs from Cape May.
So are there already plans in place for everyone to meet up? Also..please explain the door signs if you don't mind. I feel so out of the loop. We took our DisneyWorld vacation back in May/June (we're DVC members) and we just got back from a trip tp Vermont...so I just now feel like I can spend time planning and really focusing on our Cruise. Of course we've been looking forward to it since we booked it last year :)
Hope everyone has a great day!

Wow Wendy ... school's back in already?? That seems really early! Summer is getting by us WAY too quickly. Yes, yes, I know ... that just means we're so much closer to the cruise!!! And all this anticipation is just like the weeks leading up to Christmas :santa: (that's what I keep telling Mutt). But I still LOVE my summers.
Jamie ... if Johnny Depp shows up in CC, you and I will have a major cat fight over who gets to him first :rotfl2: HE'S MINE!!!

Welcome to Steve & family, Katie & family, and Kelly & family!! :cheer2: :cheer2:  We have a 5 YO DD and 15 YO DS who will be traveling with us.
Shell -- I know what you mean about Target! I always go down the end aisles looking for all the clearance items. Half the time I buy those things and forget what I was really there for. :confused3 Let me know how your pirate outfit pirate: is coming along since it sounds like you're shopping at two of my favorite stores! :thumbsup2
Lampy -- if you need help with that rum, DH & I could probably be forced to pitch in. :rotfl2: It's all for a good cause. :)
Dutch's Mommy -- let me know what you find out about MAW. I'd love to help.
Not a whole lot going on here. Just getting DD ready for all-day kindergarten in two weeks. We've done the shots (vaccinations, I mean :rotfl: ), dentist visit, and tomorrow she has the regular school physical. Ugh! Then off to buy clothes and supplies -- Kohl's & Target, here we come! :Pinkbounc
Kathy, great trip report! The looks on the GKs' faces when they realized you were all going on a cruise must've been priceless! Is it really three months till we all go? :sad2:
Lynn -- loved the newest picture of DS!
Sorry I didn't mention everyone else individually but this post is already too long! Sorry 'bout that! :rolleyes1

quiet day on the homefront here... off today yipee! did some shopping today and found cute pirate tee's at target (juniors and mens) and pirate boxers at old navy. lots of pirate stuff at hot topic (thats where i bought my shirt for my costume) and jack sparrow kids costuems at disney store. dave hasn't gotten his costume yet and i have a sneaky suspicion we wont be shopping for that until 2 days before we leave... going to his parents tonight to discuss dinner ressies and the like for the wdw trip beforehand, should prove interesting :) later nana heads....

Happy Friday!!!!!!!!!
This has been a rough week for us.
On Monday morning I was walking down the hall at work and suddenly found myself flat on my face.
I had enough adrenaline to get up and make it back to my desk (before blubbering like a fool) I sprained my ankle and bruised both my knees.
Luckily DH works at the same hospital I do, so he came right over and we decided to go home since I was in quite a lot of pain.
So I am at home with my foot up and ice on it, and DH decides to water our one sad little plant... He gets up on a chair, the chair goes out from under him, he hits the table with his chest on the way down, then lands on top of the chair. He gets a HUGE welt on his leg, re-injures his bad shoulder and gets the breath knocked out of him.
So we are the walking wounded this week (its really kind of funny... NOW!)
We need a vacation :sail: only 95 more days until we head to the POFQ :beach:
Have a great weekend!! pirate:

Hello...working on my 500th post...so bare with me..
Sarah: yes the "red sauce" is spaghetti sauce.
Mutt: Well we will have to keep you away from those Margarita's...we dont want the "life" of the party falling asleep at 10pm. :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
Athene: Wow I hope you and your DH recover quickly. Take care...
Well take care...I still haven't stared on my sauce yet. I did some cleaning then needed to go shopping to pick up a new rug and towels for one of my bathrooms. I cant belive DD leaves Sunday morning back to Colorado then she will be leaving 2 weeks after that for Iraq. :sad2: As much as I think I'm ready for this deployment, I'm not. This will be a long year with her gone over there and the "dogs".
Have a good afternoon

Hey Denise....I can't promise you I'll be the life of the party...or that I'll stay clear of the margaritas...but I'll try and be good. Too bad you weren't closer as far as your red sauce goes... we're going to have a bumper crop of roma tomatoes and they make great sauce. This is our second year of having a garden and our second year of canning. I hope we get enough to last out the winter. I don't suppose you'd care to divulge any of your secrets in regards to your sauce, would you? I can come up with a pretty decent pasta sauce for an italian-trained polish boy but I'm always looking for new tips and tricks.
Anyways....off to the showershttp://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i2/woogal/nanabathkris.gif and dinner for us....
Enjoy the evening gang....THE WEEKEND IS HE-AHH!!!! (the southern accent was for you, Bob---did I do it right?)

Oh, Poor Feenie & DH! HOW did you fall walking down the hall?! Mr. Safety needs to get after dh though - standing on a chair!!!!
Tigger, we live near Albany - you know? UPSTATE! lol
Mutt? Do you have a freezer? Freezing tomatos is a LOT easier than canning. Peel 'em or not. Place on cookie sheet. freeze solid. scrape off into big ziplock bags and stash in the freezer. Ready for sauce? Pull out as many as you need and toss 'em in the pot.
Happy Friday!

Yes, dear...we do have freezers in Ohio...we we're the first of our wagon train to get one (the injuns are all so jealous).
I will try your fancy dancey freezer thing, though...sounds like a good idea and a lot easier than canning.
Wendy?

I just spent about 4 hours cleaning ... UGH! But it was rainy here this morning so I had no chance to spend my day in the sun. :sunny: Anyhoo, I'm taking a break from completing the rest of my chores. There's a new DSW that just opened on the other side of town and I'm SO EXCITED! I have to visit them, make a "deposit" into their bank account so that I can support the American way. Makes me feel patriotic. :lmao:

Evening!
We helped friends move today - boy did I get grubby - THEN he wanted to take us out to dinner. Fortunately, there was a warehouse store next to where we stopped for tea - I found a shirt for $10 so at least I could a little clean.
Mutt, please don't be offended! i didn't mean to imply that y'all hadn't gotten to the 21st century - just - well not everybody has more than the freezer on their fridge - and if you're putting up maters by the bushel, that would get full pretty quick. BTW, these look pretty but don't try them on a salad - they are strictly for cooking after freezing cause they thaw to mush.
Shell - is DSW shoes? WOW did I FIND SHOES! That warehouse I mentioned above was having a 50% off shoe sale - but I couldn't find any in my size. (whine) They had Avia, Adidas, pretty shoes, dressy shoes, sandal shoes.oh my.
Have a good night, all.

C'mon Linda.... I dont get offended that easy....hehe...geez. You should know me better than that! (I'm a fun mutt...ask Bob)
You and Woo will have so much to talk about...she has the same zest, zeal, enthusiasm, mania, obsession, lunatic behavior regarding shoes. She hunts them....slowly, carefully and then goes in for the kill--its the sheer pleasure of it for her. (ask her about the dress shoes I got to go with my suit for the cruise--she never tires of talking about it).
We FINALLY went and saw POTC II. We both thought there was a lil too much cgi but all in all, it was a worthy effort.
Anyways....enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Good morning Banana Heads
OK, first of all, let's make this perfectly clear (and all you married ladies will understand this) ... Bill does not "make" me do anything unless I permit it :rotfl2:. But, regardless, I've done some soul searching and figured that since we're going to all be living together for 7 nights, it was time to come clean and give up our source. We get our nana smilies at http://www.funfilesandsmiles.com/smileys/banana.htm. If you go to the Smilies page, you'll find a bunch more in different categories. It's a gold mine, so to speak. :goodvibes Whew! I feel so much better! :woohoo:
Linda: DSW is TOTAL shoes ... the SHOE UNIVERSE ... the HOLY GRAIL OF SHOES ... SHOE HEAVEN :cloud9: . I stand at the entrance and weep at the beauty of it all when I first enter. But alas, yesterday was a bust. I perused the aisles for about an hour, found some that I liked but did not purchase anything :guilty: . Maybe next time (and I'm sure there will be a next time!).
As far as Bill's shoe buying experience ... I am rolling my eyes just thinking about it :rolleyes2 ... I took him to DSW for his first time at the end of June to find dress shoes to go with his suit. We walk in, I stop him cold in his tracks and say, "OK, let me explain how this place works. Go all the way in the back for the clearance items, up to 80% off, depending on the sticker color. You may not find anything there, but check anyway. I'll be on the other side of the store looking at women's shoes." Not 10 MINUTES later, he comes back. "OK, I'm done." (I ask you, who can buy shoes in 10 minutes???). I look at them ... they're perfect ... beautiful black dress shoes, high quality. He found them on the clearance rack:
Original retail price: $199
Clearance discount: 80%
Wife's gift card: $10
Final price: $15
Disgusted/jealous look on wife's face: Priceless :sad2:

Happy Sunday to all my cruising turkey nana heads. Hard to believe that next Sunday morning at 3am is the majic hour for us repeaters to make ressies. I don't plan to stay up until 3am -- I'll go to bed at my usual 9pm and wake up at 2:30 am. Sounds boring, huh???!!! But, on the ship I never go to bed before midnight. So, you'll have to put up with me at Rockin Bar D, Promenade, adult pool, deck 4, etc. each night.
Anyone making Palo brunch ressies for Sunday? That's my target day for brunch. I hesitate making Palo dinner ressies until after night 3 on the cruise as I don't want Bob and Gitta to miss any of the restaurant activities. Of course, when we board the ship, I have to make sure Anne Marie will be our server at Palo as she is Dave's reason to be on the Magic!!!
Just talked to our friends, Bob and Gitta, who are crusiing with us. She just said yes to Palo brunch and dinner, and fishing for the guys on CC.
Has anyone cruised with Glindamood and her family? We met Gail and David before our 9/18/04 Magic (Hurricane Jeanne got in our way though) cruise. They live in northern Michigan. Gail just emailed and they'll be in our area of Michigan next Saturday. Can't wait to see them. They would have cruised with us this yeear but they're going on the 11 day Wonder in four weeks.
Denise: Big hugs to you and your daughter. Keep us posted about how she is doing.
CruiseMutt: Two drinks and I am usually sound asleep. You may find me out on deck 4 sleeping in a lounge chair each day. So ---- until our cruise, I'll just have weak tea each night......
Athene -- hope you're feeling better. Be a prima donna today and have everyone at your beck and call. None of us can get injured or sick before our cruise! Our friend, Bob, is always having problems -- dental problems, minor injuries, etc. Gitta doesn't promise to keep Bob healthy for our cruise, but she promises that she'll still cruise with us even if Bob can't.
Have a great rest of the day. Jan

argh! in a bad mood right now. trying to get the wdw trip set up for dave's family is a pain in the banana! to make a long story short we must do EVERYTHING together (9 people) and it is obvioulsy the week of thanksgiving and they think that we can get dinner ressies for ALL of us TOGETHER ANYWHERE THEY WANT!!!!!! indeed not the case but whatever! i have all the dinner ressies done however im sure they will want to change them. after i got all that done i called to change the flight home for dave and i and they said you need to buy new tickets b/c this is a group rate and you are breaking up the group. his parents refuse to cancel the ressies so now we have to spend extra money on a one way ticket home. argh!!!!! also the group rate is for 10 people (we originally had 12 people not counting me) and alas, they all cancelled. so now im stuck paying for some group ticket "discount" that i didnt even sign up for and a one way ticket! argh!!!!!! at least there is the cruise after the wdw trip. so if we break up while in wdw were sure to get back together on the cruise! sorry had to rant and rave.

Good morning :sunny:
Runa,
I know what you are talking about.
we have one stead fast rule when vacationing with a lot of people., everytone goes their own way and does their own thing and we meet up at dinner only!!! Then we share stories of our day.
If we happen to be doing the same thing by coincidence that is ok, but we are all on our own and everyone has a great time!!!
I know if we had to be everywhere others wanted to be, we wouldnt go, because we would be miserable. I figure as much money as it costs we should get to do what we want to do.
That is easier said than done, I know.
Denise,
I have over 2000 posts and i am very quiet too :rotfl2:

:sunny: Good Monday Morning:
Runa sorry to hear about making all these traveling plans. I love to plan also...I think thats part of the fun. However, in 2000 went to Disney with my two sisters their spouses and another couple so a total of 8. What we did was get together a few times and make plans. We did pretty much stay together, but we also knew what the others wanted to do and see. So we all decided to do what the other ones wanted. Which in the long run we all got to what we wanted and did what the other couples wanted and we had the best time. It will be a trip that I will remember. My two sisters and I would take pictures of the three of us at different spots, then we picked the best picture bought a nice Disney frame and gave it to my Dad for Chirstmas. I think that was the best gift we could have given him.
I just hope things work out well for you and your traveling party, hope you have a nice Thanksgiving at WDW.
Kathy: I'll will give this my best shot, however, you all may just get plain tired of hearing from me. :rotfl: So beware!!!!! :rotfl2: (you know how we shy people are)
Well going start getting ready for work now. I really dont want to go back, from what I understand, I have a desk full of work. Thats the only problem when I take off, I'm the only one who knows my job and hardly nothing gets done. Oh well, I just have to look at it like, I had a really nice week off, so this is the price I pay. :rolleyes1

Well folks, it was a disappointing weekend. The concert tickets didn't show up at my connection's house. Odds are that her company probably sent them to her desk at work, and they will arrive today. So, no Kenny Chesney for me over the weekend!
But, we did yard work and cleaned the garage on Saturday, so at least we accomplished something. Also, without the concert last night, it was not as hard to get up this morning. It was still hard, just not AS hard! :rotfl2:

kinda mediocre weekend here too, with bright intervals. blah and rainy. did laundry, cleaned bathrooms, helped some friends move. went out to dinner. did grocery shopping.went to a birthday party at build-a-bear, and bought my bear, Dimples, some new clothes. Oh well, those are few and far between!!

Hey everyone,
i have a question.
I thought I read once where you could take your memory stick to shutters and they would download your pics on a CD for you. Of course for a fee.
That way you dont need a bunch of extra memory sticks.
Now someone i know says they called DCL and were told NO they dont do that at shutters.
Did I read this wrong or do they do this???
Anyone have it done before??
Thanks, kathy

I don't think you can get you can get your memory card read onto a CD at Shutters . Best Buy has new memory sticks that have at least 246 pictures on it. I am taking 2 of them and I should be fine. I hope I was a help!!

We had a bad storm at home on Friday and lightening hit our house, it fried 2 tv's our refrigerator and :furious: my computer, So I am pulling a woogal and logging in from work in a spare minute. But I was starting to get withdrawals from not talking with ya'll.
We are trying for brunch on Sunday and dinner on Wednesday at Palo any certain time I should try for?

I see you've met most everyone, including my DH ... "SYBIL". :sad2: The only people that call him WILLIAM are his mother and me ... both when he's in trouble!! (Hey hon? Love your Satchel avatar!!)
Wendy, I wondered were you'd been lately!! Is everything else in your house OK? That must've been scary. Were you home when it happened?
Kathy, I'm not finding anything on Shutters. But I'm sure one call to the CC club will confirm it for you one way or the other.
Sarah, the only time that I'm up at 5:30 a.m. is if it's to make a bathroom break before going back to sleep!!! Gotta hand it to you youngsters (I'm jealous)!! In college, I tried an all-nighters during finals. I fell asleep at 11:30 p.m. ... Pathetic!! :(
Cute pic, Lynn. He's growing up fast!
It's funny ... Sunday is our RESSIES DAY, and I'm more concerned with my Fantasy Football draft (which takes place on the same day). I mean ... WHERE are my priorities? :confused3
Have a great day!!

Wendy, being on CST, you will be able to make ressies at 2:00 a.m. If you wait any later, you may not even be able to get on the ship with us!! ;)

Welcome Pat and Hubbie!
Kathy - we downloaded pics to a CD at Shutters. It worked like it does at the Epcot photoplace right under the big ball. They took the stick (can't remember if they took the whole camera or just the stick). I think it was around $15 and they burned it to a CD. That was on the Wonder in '95 so not sure if things have changed.

thansk for all the advice regarding the dbf's family- im glad im not alone in this quest to have a "magical" experience.
sunday is readily approaching and we have not decided for sure about all of the excursions and dining options...
speaking of dining options does anyone know if we have the laplapl rotation and if we are all linked together? this may be the deciding factor for us!
or if someone could tell me if we are on that rotation what would be a good night b/c we dont want to miss pirate's in parrot's or formal/ semi formal in lumiere's.. i might just go with friday to end the trip off nicely.....what do you guys think?

Good Evening Nana Heads:
Welcome aboard Pat and DH! It's just me and DH and our friends, who are cruising for the very first time, Bob and Gitta. We are leaving our kids and grandkids at home!
Palo brunch -- my goal is to make Sunday ressies.
Palo dinner -- will probably be Wednesday or Thursday night. I don't want Bob and Gitta to miss the first 3 nights of rotation b/c of the activities in the restaurants (don't want to give away the surprise for anyone who hasn't cruised DCL), and Tuesday night is Pirate night. BTW -- if DH has his way, he'd eat at Palo every night! Last cruise he was the Palo chef's Cruiser of the Week because he left no food on each plate given to him. Palo is the only restaurant that he doesn't order a Mickey Bar.
It is hard to believe we're down to almost 90 days. Can't wait! A co-worker of mine is cruising on the 9/2/06 Magic, so I'm enjoying her excitement.
Have a great evening everyone.

Runa00: You are in the EST, so am I in Michigan. I've read on the DIS that we can make ressies at 3am on day 90, and for our California cruisers, it would be midnight for them. Any others -- is this correct? Kathy, you've cruised a lot this year. Have you gotten online at 3am on day 90?
I had a dream of all of you Nanaheads last night! It was day one and we couldn't find you! CMs were telling us they saw sightings of the DIS turkey shirts but we were about 1-2 bars behind you!!! Also, in my dream, I had to shop at the Pennys that sailed with the Magic to buy clothes and makeup that I didn't pack. Last cruise, I had 2-3 dreams of losing our birth certificates and not having them for the cruise.
Oh well, getting ready for work to support my habits -- DCL and my grandchildren.

The rotation that we are shooting for will be the PLAPLAP rotation. That will put us in Lumiere's on Formal night (Sunday) and in PC for Pirate's night (Tuesday), and Animator's on Semi-Formal (Thursday). Just in case Ron is not able to work his magic, I would call my TA or DCL (whoever you booked with) and request this rotation. It doesn't guarantee it, but that would be a safety valve.

I have never stayed up or got up that early to make ressies. We just do it the morning when we get up and have always got what we wanted.
Denise,
good luck with the dogs. Around the middle of September I am dog sitting for my son. He has a BIG black lab. Minnie has met him once and after a few minutes they got along fine, but Minnie wanted to run and play, but Poncho is a older dog and he doesnt do run and play anymore.
He does like to fetch the ball and swim in the pool. I'm sure that will be an interesting week around here.
Hope everyone is having a good wednesday.

Well, it looks like DW and I will be shooting for Sunday Palo brunch ressies as well! We don't want to have to rush to breakfast that first morning! If we do dinner, it will be on Wednesday evening. Tuesday is our actual anniversary, but we don't want to miss Pirate's night!
The only excursions we are considering are the early Golden Eagle Catamaran in St. Maarten. I want to be able to go to the French side of the island that afternoon to let DW experience some of the food. I actually have a client who owns a timeshare on St. Maarten who is going to give me the word on where to go. St. Thomas will most likely be on our own, or with Sonny Liston. :thumbsup2

I have fingers crossed for PLAPLAP as that is the rotation I made my ressie choices under. We are currently under early seating, but I will definately switch if Lampy can work his Magic :teeth:
I went out last night and got a PVR from Rogers (that's a personal video recorder from our cable company). I think it is kidna like 'Tivo'. You can rent it and they just put the charge on your monthly bill - and it's only about $15. I really wanted to tape the World Equestrian Games which are on this week from Aachen Germany. The gentleman who ownes the stable where I ride is riding in the 3 day event category and I want to make sure I see him!! It's pretty exciting and really neat to what those world class riders. And - I don't have to worry about missing something because it is recording and I can watch after DS goes to bed. :thumbsup2
So, not too much else new here....just Disney Dreamin' :wizard:
Oh, we 'Google-Earth'd' WDW last night and it made me want to go so bad. We ussually go in Feb for DSs b'day but with the cruise in Nov I don't think we will be able to afford to go so soon. BUt.....my mind is already turning for a possible November date next year. DS gets a week off in Nov from Kindergarten (I know - weird) so I am thinking we could maybe use that time. Fingers crossed they go with free dining. DH and I went last Sept for the free dining and it was GREAT. It was also really different as we left DS at home (I know, bad mommy  ) but we had a great time riding ToT like 10 times in a row, getting pretty blitzed at the Adventurers Club, getting 'wedgiefied' at Blizzard Beach etc etc. And we had GREAT meals at Epcot - so nice to enjoy a quiet meal just the two of us. Anyway, needless to say I am jonesing my WDW fix.

Oh Runa -- I know how you feel with the family vacation thing. We went on a cruise / stay in the FL keys a few years back with DH's family. (We got engaged on that trip.) One of DH's sisters was quite upset that we didn't get up at the crack of dawn to do sightsighing and that we just wanted to do our own thing (which is lay around on the beach or by the pool). Needless to say, we haven't vacationed with the family since!! When you're paying big bucks for a vacation, you should be able to do some of the things YOU want to do. Good luck! :thumbsup2

Good MOrning, Everyone!
TiggerKing, I think I'll try for brunch on Sunday too - that seems like a pretty good day for it. Wasn't too fond of the pirates menu last trip, so that might be when I choose to do Palo at night. Honestly I could eat there every night, if it was up to me.
Last cruise, I found a Coldwater creek - plum colored velvet dress in the thrift store for 20$. It looked terrific (at least as terrific as an old, pooh sized woman can look ;-) Then last year, Coldwater Creek had the same color shell, pants, and skirt, with a brocade jacket, so I bought them all - not quite the bargain as the dress. They pack well, don't wrinkle and interchange in several combinations - what more can a traveler ask for? Shoes? Now, Shoes are another matter.
Is anyone else planning on sending a box? Since Southwest lowered the weight limit per bag, and we'll be gone more than two weeks . . .
Happy Day, All!

Hey Bob... Its been a hot topic lately and we better get our collective butts moving here. WHAT IN THE WORLD are we gonna wear for the trip??? I think maybe we better spend a lil less time with trivial things in life and get to the department stores and start trying things on! My cargo shorts and caribbean shirts apparently aren't gonna cut the mustard with this group of fashion plates. Maybe some of you ladies can settle this... I have a lovely dark suit with a Mickey Tie and hopefully a red carnation. I SAY...red converse tennis shoes are the perfect accent to the outfit. Woo does NOT. C'mon....help me out here. Let a mutt style for awhile!!!

My DH is going to do the ressies on Sunday so I can sleep in!! Sounds good to me :thumbsup2 !! We decided not to do any excursions because DS :cloud9: is too young for most of them. We are just going to walk around the islands ourselves. I am looking forward to the jewerly stores!! Hey, maybe it will be an early Christmas present for me    !! Well DH is working late till 8 or 9 pm so I may be back on later!! Have a great day!!

Hey Bill,
I say as long as it's you and NOT my DH, go for it!!! :rotfl:
I guarantee everyone on the ship will remember you and be talking about you the entire rest of the trip!!
You will be the hero of every man on board who wishes he had the guts to wear red tennis shoes on formal night. :woohoo:
On the other hand, the women may revolt and give you a fashion lesson you wont soon forget!!!
You may be wishing you'd stayed at home with Guido the pirate puppy! :sad2:
Love the Mickey tie, DH wears one too. :goodvibes

First off, that sounds a little more fashionable than the hiking boots I was planning on wearing! But remember, they have to be HIGH TOP Converse shoes, and you MUST HAVE bright red socks to match them! I also think you should go for a matching red baseball cap!
As for me, I was looking at my HS prom picture the other day and I think the black tux with the lavendar ruffles would be perfect for formal night. And, I saw the coolest polka dot cummerbund to go with it! :thumbsup2

The boys haven't decided whether or not to bring their tuxes or rent on the boat. Me on the other hand, have already been to the sales and got a floor length black and white gown. After last year, I went even more formal. Now to the jewelry......
Mutt go for the red shoes, I am sure that you will find cohorts that will support you. (my Husband) Last year Lampy threatened to wear overalls, so Woo it could be worse. Maybe for pirate night you could wear that coconut bra you've been wanting.
Have a great Thursday.

Hello everyone, I've been lurking for quite a while. Kind of weird, I know. Anyway, I've been waiting to post until I was pretty darn sure we would be cruising. It's been a very crazy year for my family.
My name is Carrie and my dh, Kevin, and kids, dd 13, dd 6, and ds 4. Will be cruising with you this fall. We booked our original cruise for the same time last year in the Winter of 2004. Then about this time last year, my dh was told he was losing his job. :sad1: So I postponed our trip to this year.
Ironically, two weeks after I canceled he was told they would be able to keep him on for another year. So, we spent a week at DW in December instead and had a great time. I even brought my parents along.
Now my dh is about to lose his job again. He has several opportunities lined-up, but no firm job. I am fairly sure he'll have something new by the end of the month. He's at an interview right now.
Anyway, I'm getting excited. Trying to lose a little more weight and really wanting to go. So I popped in to say hello. Hopefully, you'll hear more from me soon.
We have connecting rooms on level 2 but I can't remember the number right now.

Carrie: Welcome aboard to you and your family. I hope everything works out with DH's job situation. Been there, done that, not fun!
Since you have been lurking, I am surprised you spoke up. Most people speak up, look at this group, and then go into hiding. It is definitely a "unique" group (read  ). We look forward to corrupting your family, I mean getting to know you guys better! :rotfl2:

Hi Everyone -
Sorry I've been MIA the past week. We have been CRAZY around here - DS is in karate camp everyday and DD has dance choreography week this week, plus DS came down with a throat infection!!! I've been popping on to read and keep up with you guys but I haven't had much time to post.
We too are planning on Brunch on Sunday or Thursday and dinner on Wed. or Monday.
Someone PLEASE clear up some confusion :confused3 . What is the actual time we can log on and start making Ressies. I'm in NJ...does that make a difference? Is it set-up in such a way that all the different time zones log on together?
Last cruise DH and I had booked that Romance at Sea package so our ressies were done ahead of time. I haven't seen any info on that this time. Did they do away with that does anyone know.
By the way....who has children in this group and how old are they? We are traveling with DD(11) and DS(7 - he'll be 8 in Dec.) We are taking them out of school for the week and I am wondering if there will be less kids on this trip than in the past.
Have a great day everyone! :cheer2:

Hey Kelly, great to see you are still around us!
The REAS (Romantic Escape) package is still being offered, it is just that most people don't see that there is a huge advantage that offsets the cost. It used to be that concierge and REAS were the only ones who could do booking ahead of time. So, when they started online ressies for everyone, and pulled the massages from the package, most people decided it wasn't worth the cost.
As for the time for reservations, everyone is set at the same time. Reservations can be made (for those who can book at 90 days) starting at 3:00 a.m. Eastern on Sunday, August 27. Those on the west coast would be able to make ressies at midnight. So, if you want to log on right when they are available, you will need to be online at 3:00 a.m. in NJ!
Hope this helps!

Good Afternoon to all,
I am alittle confused :confused3 :confused3 on the time that you can on on-line and book the ressies??
Lynn: what can we help you with understanding? Let me see if I can answer your potential questions:
When can I book my ressies?
Most, if not all, should have received a letter from DCL telling you the date you are able to book Palo, Spa and Excursions, but here are the parameters:
Cat 1-3 and those with REAS Package: 105 days out (August 22)
Returning Cruisers (Castaway Club - Must have it on reservation): 90 days out (August 27)
All Others: 75 days out (September 11)
The online reservation system will open up at 3:00 a.m. EST on the date you are able to book, and you can access the system anytime after that. :surfweb: You must have already set up a registration on DCL's web site in order to access the reservations area.
Any other questions you have, we will try our best to help! :thumbsup2

Ok Jan,
I will fess up, only 2 right now after this one.
11/24/07 7 day Eastern 4/5/07 3 day on the Wonder (Easter weekend)
However on this cruise we will probably book another one or two farther out in 08 is they are posted. We would be doing another 7 day in 07 but we are going to go back to Oregon for a week to visit our families. Parents are getting to old to travel now so we need to go and see them isntead of them trying to come out here.
With DH's job we usually get to zip out spur of the moment on a 3 day once or twice a year too. Just depends on his work.
How about you Jan, any future cruises booked???
If your even thinking of one I am still all alone on my 4/5 thread, I have the ship to myself I guess. I would love to have someone book that cruise too!!!

Hey guys, I have another question. My wife was talking to a friend of hers and he told her we made a HUGE mistake booking a cruise past September because the seas are too rough. Have you guys heard of this? The TA that booked us is a friend of ours and didn't mention anything about it so I was wondering if you guys have experienced rough seas past Sept. Not that it really matters, just more Bonine!

Steve, I have found this to be untrue. Our first cruise was at the same time in 2004. The "worst" seas we had were 4-6 swells. You can't even feel those on the ship. DW is extremely prone to sea sickness, so I assure you that we would not be doing this again if we thought it would be rough. :thumbsup2

We had a rough first night on the ship last year over thanksgiving, but we were going through a gulf stream and the left overs from Gamma. But at about midnight that evening we were back to normal. We had big waves in Cayman (which kept us from going ashore), but we couldn't feel a thing on the boat.
One of the greatest things about being on the cruise is having sea legs when you get off the boat. It makes taking a shower interesting, when you close your eyes you sway back and forth for quite a while after you get off the ship.
Have Fun Lampy. Drive it like you stole it. (thanks Ricky Bobby)

Hey Steve....I'll just verify what Tonya and Bob said. Woo and I went on the Thanksgiving cruise on the Wonder last year... I'm prone to motion sickness. The first night we were standing at the top of the stairs before dinner and could see people shifting from side to side...it was almost undetectable but I did feel a little bit ill. I took a dramamine and was fine an hour later. The last night coming into port was choppy too but again, it wasn't bad. One of those strange lil "not often spoke allowed" facts that some of you repeaters may agree with is when you're in the bathroom...not the shower part...you can feel the motion of the sea. Interesting but really not a problem. No worries....we'll all do just fine.
Happy 3 months out everyone...and tgif!~

Pretty cloudy rainy day here. Just waiting til 5pm to go home :thumbsup2 Nothing too exciting planned this weekend. I am still recovering from last weekend I think.
I need to get going on things to wear too. I think I might just go with the rental tux - it's so easy. I think I have enough stuff in my closet to do formal and semi. Definately semi - I need to think a bit more about formal. If DH and DS wear tuxs I really need to be in a pretty formal dress too I think. We are also still debating the pirate outfit. At least there is still some time, but it definately is getting closer!

Hi Everyone!
Just called Happy Limo to arrange my transfers...the girl couldn't have been nicer. We are using our DVC the night before and the night after the cruise but we don't want to rely on Disney transportation. I've heard some horror stories of people being forgotten (close friend of mine), to taking 2 hrs to get to your resort. No thanks...we like to maximize our time :woohoo:
We are planning on booking Palo brunch for Sunday and dinner for Wednesday (1st choice) or Monday (2nd choice).
We're probably going to book a couples massage also. We had one on our last cruise and it was great - DH was hooked!!!
Excursions are still up in the air right now. DH's friend did the Regatta thing in St. Maarten and said it was awesome...best excursion he's ever done. We are thinking about that one. Other than that we've pretty much done our own thing. I need to do some research today on the excursions. We're pretty clueless - never been to the Eastern Carrib. Anyone have any tips or pointers? On the Western we did Key West and Cozumel on our own and did a mini-submarine in Grand Cayman and then just walked around. We'll probably wind up doing stuff on our own...but I worry that we'll miss out on things.
Have a "Magical" Friday !!! :goodvibes

Hi Steve,
we have done the Eastern several times and all but once was in the winter months. The only rough seas we had was in March, that was a rocky one with 35 foot swells and 65 MPH crosswinds. For me it was fun!! I love the rocking, but the time of year we are going we shouldnt have any problems.
Kelly,
My DD and her family did the regatta in St.Maartin earlier this month and they too said it was AWESOME!!! :woohoo: It is a good workout, so be prepared to work on that excursion, but it is a lot of fun. Another tip from DD, when the captain tells you to brace your feet on the wooden boards, DO IT!!! Or prepare to be washed overboard!!!

Hello again and thanks for the warm greeting.
My hubby's interview went pretty well and he has been called back for a second interview next week. :yay:
He has another job which he has been offered, but they are waiting for the position to be funded. The one he is still interviewing for is a much better job, but we aren't sure if they will agree to giving him the vacation time we need. :furious: The also have crappy benefits compared to the first job. Hopefully by the end of the week, something will be finalized. I am so tired of waiting for life to return to normal.
We aren't planning to do any excursions. We would like to just go off the ship for a while on our own. I'm not sure if this is a good plan or not.
I am a bit concerned about my 13 yo dd. She is a bit emotionally immature for her age. I know she isn't going to want to hang around her parents the whole trip, but I worry about her hanging out with 17 and 18 yo olds. Does anyone know if they have any organized activities for the younger teens?
Thanks again.

Carrie,
I have a DS12 and his friend 12 going they have a great 10-12 program and the 13 yo can step down to that program . She is welcome to hang out with our boys they have 2 best friends who are girls that they do alot with them so they would be cool with her hanging out.Plus big bonus they are MEN in training so they are also immature (no offense to the guys we are sailing with I am sure you are very mature and reserved, right Mutt?)

Hi Steve: First evening out, you may feel some swaying due to gulf stream. Two years ago, DH and I were on the 9/18/04 Magic and our cruise was cut short by 1/2 day because of Jeanne. We had BIG waves on Wednesday/Thursday, then Friday was so calm. At 2pm Friday, Captain announced that we were heading back to port b/c of Jeanne. DCL, once again, went over and above the call of duty. For those with no car at port, cruisers were bussed to the Swan and Dolphin, complementary lodging/breakfast, free transportation to Orlando airport, plus 50% off next cruise (to be used within 12 months). We ended up in Tampa waiting out the hurricane and returned to Detroit on Monday. BTW, insurance paid our lodging, meals and cab/van fares for those extra days. Of course, DH wanted to go last September and we did. He was assuming that if we got caught up in another hurricane, we'd get another cruise discount. IMO, any week of cruising is better than a week at work!
Kelly: Where are you staying the night before our cruise? We're at SSR the night before.
Carrie: Hope you hear good news soon about DH's job search.
Wendy: Glad your dad is doing well.
Before going to bed early Saturday evening, I will set the alarm for 2:30, so that I can book our ressies. Will post what luck/no luck I have.
Enjoy your weekend!

Jan - we are staying at Saratoga Springs also! This will be our 1st time staying there.
I could really use some expert advice regarding excursions on St Thomas/St John. I am more interested in the St. John side of things - i've heard it's beautiful and I don't want to miss it.
The beach excursions seem VERY pricey. Plus I don't want to spend the whole day on an excursion...I'd like to be able to take in some of the island just by foot. Does anyone know about taxis or shuttles that take you to any of the beaches or into town?
We wanted to do the Regatta on St. Maartaen but the kids aren't old enough and we don't feel comfortable disappearing on the kids off the ship for 3 hours on a high seas adventure :)
I read somewhere that it's pretty easy to get a taxi or water shuttle(?) to the beach in St. Maarten if we wanted to do that.
Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Hi Kelly: Our stay at SSR will be our first time too. We've made ressies at the new Turf Club restaurant for dinner Friday night.
St. John is beautiful. Several years ago, we took the excursion which had us on a boat for about 45 minutes, then we had the option of snorkeling or taking a dinghy to the beach. That excursion was about 4 hours in length. We never saw any of the island. Unfortunately, our day in St. Thomas is a short one -- we usually have to be back on board by 4 or 4:30 pm. Check cruisecritic.com about getting to St. John by ferry, etc.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend!

Happy Saturday everyone!
We had some nasty storms Wednesday night and we were without Internet till today! :badpc: (I couldn't even pull a Wendy and sit in my driveway to get a signal -- we're in the country where there is NO other signal! :rotfl2: )
Looks like more rain is on the way today. Oh well, DD & I will be off shopping for school clothes (and cruise clothes for me!). Thanks for the excellent advice on the formal dress, Woo! :thumbsup2
Welcome Carrie! :wave2: We are traveling with DD (5 1/2) and DS (15).
I'm hoping there aren't going to be any issues with the kids missing school for a week. I read a thread about the hassles some people get from the schools for taking kids on vacation during the school year. As a former teacher, I don't remember it being such a big deal. We'd give the kids the lesson plans for the upcoming week and tell them to hand it in when they got back. No big deal. :confused3 :confused3 Anyway, I'm glad I now have one more thing to worry about.
Wendy - glad to hear all went well for your dad (and that you have your computer back up & running!).
Denise -- I may have missed this from way back -- where do you work? If you ever get really sick of it, we're looking to hire someone -- a commute to Woodstock would be a piece of cake, right? :rotfl: :rotfl: But think of the   fun!!!
Better get going! :drive: Have a great day everyone. Get some rest -- ressie time is fast approaching :surfweb: !!

Kelly,
At St. Maartin
the water taxi is right at the end of the pier. It is $5 per person all day as many times as you want to go back and forth. As soon as you get off the water taxi you walk off the little pier there turn left and about one minutes walk and you are at a beach. The beach is free, but they do rent chairs and umbrellas if you want, not sure of the prices.
we did the eco hike of St, Johns a couple years ago and liked it a lot. It wasnt a hard walk and there was 30 minutes for swimming before heading back to the pier to take a water taxi back to the ship. One note on this tour, the ONLY bathroom on the entire excursion is the one on the water taxi that takes you to St. Johns.
My DD did the island tour and really enjoyed it, she said it was a beautiful island.
We just got back from Universal Studios ( :ssst: dont tell Mickey) Islands of adventure. It was a good day til the thunderstorm came through. Not much rain, but due to the thunder and lightning they closed a few rides.
Of course the ride I wanted to do, because it is new ,was the one that got closed just as we got at the gate to board after a 20 minute wait. :sad2:
But it was a very good day!!!

Hey Cheri....you need a designer/illustrator/production/"figure out how in the heck do we do that" guy? I'm not ashamed to say after 10 years, I'm tired of being a major cog in a minor company.
Wendy....great news about your dad...glad to hear it--so much that I won't even comment on YOUR comment....mature, indeed. (red sneakers are very mature if you do it right).

Thank goodness I checked in here - i'd forgotten tonights the night. Hard to believe, isn't it, when that's all we've been talking about for weeks. My plan is: No excursions. Brunch Sunday or Monday, Palo . . . night after pirates? What's that? DH doesn't want to miss pirates either.
Today I was in build-a-bear - they've the CUTEST pirate costume, I might try to copy it for DH.
Also bought shoes - boy! DID THAT kill the budget. Went in SAS to get a shoe stretched and thought I should look at some sandals - current onces were born in 2000. . . omg, the new ones are heaven on the foot but the price. YIKES! Wish I could wear them to work but no . . . let's see . . . work shoes yes. new handbag. yes. $$$ later.
See y'all at 3 . . .

OHMYGOSH  TONIGHT'S THE NIGHT!!!
I can't believe how disorganized I've been for this trip. I just knew I was going to book a Spa Villa and never, until tonight, looked at the prices. Are they insane? The only treatment I'd pay $500 an hour for is a massage by MY Johnny (hear that Shell!?)
So, I think I'll take a lil' party nap and get back up at 2:50 to book a Rasul and Palo dinner (would also love Wednesday). Still trying to figure out if we'd like to do High Tea and/or Brunch. DD wants to have Tea with SomeDisneyCharacter so we can't do Palo when that is offered.
Good luck to everyone tonight - hope you get the ressies you want. I'll drop by after I finish up to see how you made out.
Tomorrow might be a tad rough.. :surfweb:

Good luck to everyone getting their reservations. Or at least getting up on time. I don't think I'd be able to do it at that time of the night.
Wendy and Kelly, Thanks for the info on being able to put her into the 10 - 12 program. I think she would have a great time in there, but didn't think she'd be allowed in. I also don't want to push the rules. But that mother instinct in me gets very queezy thinking of her hanging out with older teens.
Cheri, We are are homeschoolers and usually travel during this week after Thanksgiving. We find that most places aren't very crowded that time of year. As an added bonus, my kids teacher has yet to complain and my kids have never had to do homework on vacation. :rotfl: They do work through the summer though. :bitelip:

Had my itinerary all planned out and was happy to get the Palo I wanted (Dinner at 6:30 on Wednesday). But then, the Brunch I wanted wasn't available on Sunday so I had to figure out another time. I chose Thursday at 10:30. Then, that fouled up the Rasul appointment - I couldn't choose so I reserved two! 1 for 9:30 on Sunday and the other for 11:00 on Sunday. I just didn't have it in me to figure out when our character breakfast could be. I'll decide tomorrow and cancel one.

Is it important to book at 3 am? YES! I canceled my tea time and went to rebook to get a later time and they were all gone, so I quickly rebooked my original time! I booked the early brunch first thing and 4foxes missed it.
I wonder if they only allocate a certain number of tables for each booking date . . .
Also, I didn't see an option for booking more people than were in my cabin - so if I had wanted to book for us AND 4foxes, for example, it didn't appear to be possible.

Well, now I know why I couldn't get on the DIS boards after I made my ressies. All you other crazy people were on here as well!
I did get the brunch, dinner, Rasul and St. Maarten excursion I wanted. :thumbsup2
Linda, to answer your question, yes they do only allocate a certain number of slots at each time. I have also heard that they hold back close to 50% of Palo reservations for those without access to early reservations. So, if you want to change, you should be able to do so on the ship.
Now, another thing I thought about this morning for those who didn't get what they want, and don't mind the 3:00 a.m. again, you can get up on the 75 day mark and make changes when that groups ressies open up. Just a thought!
Have a great Sunday everyone!

Good mornin' fellow nanas & turkeys!
I'm unhappy to report that I was a bit too late for Palo ressies. Oh well, I'll give it a shot on the 11th. I guess I didn't realize this was on the same difficulty-level as getting reservations for Cinderella's breakfast @ MK (that seemed EASY at the time! :rotfl: ). :confused3
Denise & Mutt: We work for an insurance company! :woohoo: Bill's an agent and I'm a licensed assistant. Anyway, our latest assistant quit in June with about 12 hours' notice via email so I've been working in our office full time all summer, instead of working from home. (Is it something we did? :confused3) We're looking for someone who can learn quickly :teacher: , handle a computer :badpc: , and has a good sense of humor  . Yesterday was a busy one. Well glad to see most of you got your reservations made. Man this seems as bad as trying to get pre-sale tickets to a concert.. :smooth:
So know I am looking forward to my 75 day mark. The only problem is I have to work that day which means just like Wendy...I have to get up at 3am then go back to bed for a few hours just to get up again  Oh well, its a Monday....Mondays are "pure hell" at work. So I guess I can just let the patients have it, if they give me a hard time. :rotfl: :rotfl2: Just kidding.
I have to run to Target and buy a new iron today. I just got this one at Christmas time. I was ironing a shirt for my son, finished went to unplug, bearly touched the plug a huge spark and pop. The cord came out of the plug part... it was still pluged into the wall but there was no cord attached. It was burnt and black...Crazy.....Just dont make things like they did in the good ole days... :)

Mmmmmmmmmmmm... Zucchini bread sounds good!! Can I have the recipe???
Oh Lynn ... you made my day! Is there anything better than someone asking for a recipe? (Yeah, I know, you've never had it ... but it's GOOD! :goodvibes)
Mix together:
2 c sugar
2 c peeled, grated zucchini
1 c. oil (I use a canola blend)
1 c. sour cream (I use light)
2 t. vanilla
3 eggs
Blend in:
3 c. flour
1 t. baking soda
1 t. salt
2 t. cinnamon
1/4 t. baking powder
Fold in 1 c. raisin (or chocolate chips) and 1 c. nuts
Pour into greased and floured bread pans. If you use the 8x4x3 foil pans from the store, this will make 3 loaves, so bake at 350 for about an hour. If you use regular bread pans (9x5?), then it makes 2, so bake at 350 for 1 hour 20 minutes. You'll have to test for doneness with a knife (sometimes it will take longer than expected, especially in the larger pans). These freeze very easily and are just as good when thawed out.
By the way, Lynn ... we're doing Palo's on Thursday night (semi-formal).

Shell - please pass some of your energy my way :) I can barely even manage to think about what I'm going to make for dinner. What was I thinking staying up until all hours of the morning. Oh...that's right.....I can hear the shiip's horn now "when you wish upon a star"
Lynn - my daughter thinks your son is adorable. She's almost 11 but she is going to make a great babysitter soon. She's great with little kids.
Kathy - thanks for the input yesterday on the excursions. We finally decided to just go for it with the Regatta. DH really wants to do that. The more I read about St. John the more I wanted to make sure I saw a beach there. We've never snorkeled and it sounds like Trunk Bay is a great place for 1st timers. The whole family is going to do that together. I'm excited..I think it will be great.
See you later-

Looks like my family will be joining your merry crew. Me: jeff, DW Mina, DD8 Elizabeth and DD2 1/2 Emily..
We haven't booked yet but discussed it at length this morning. Finding out that the ship will be decorated for the holidays is probably the clincher with DW. Woo hoo. Will post again once we've booked.

And you talk about me Wendy!!!! Typing in the driveway....ships horn on start-up...(ok, so I sat for 45 minutes waiting for the Wonder to pass the two palms cam....you cant prove a thing!!!)
Anyways....
Kelly, if you want the horn, I can e-mail it to ya--- at least I think I can...PM an e-mail addy and I'll get it to ya...
Good luck on the convincing JD....just tell her its the happiest ship on earth and if I know my fellow travellers (and I do....ohhhh...I do)...they're about the nicest people on earth.
She doesn't need THAT much convincing. It's just that we were just on the Magic (our first cruise ever) two weeks ago and she thinks it's too soon. Me...I had a rough first couple of days on the ship getting my sea legs but after I got into the groove I absolutely loved it and couldn't wait for the next cruise. I suspect we'll be booked by week's end. :woohoo:
