Denise,
dont worry I wont give a second thought to all of you slaving away with work and housework!!!
Minnie is staying home this time. DS, will be here to take care of her when he is not at work. I didnt want to use a dog sitter or kennel this time. She is just getting adjusted to us and her new home. It will be stressful enough for her to be without us for the week. :guilty:
But on this cruise I will have to leave her with someone :confused3 because DS will be coming along too.
Hope everyone is having a great saturday!!
We have been working around here getting ready for company. We may go and see a movie tomarrow.

Morning folks! Hope everyones going to have a great Sunday... It's gonna be sunny here, low humidity and around 80. For me, thats as good as it gets.
Wow, what a busy Saturday here...I finished my first ever door sign...if it posts correctly, gimme some feedback--I value your opinions (not ONE banana in sight, I promise!!). I made the final payment on our cruise so I'm free and clear to set sail---woohoo! I also did what I hope won't be a foolish thing---check my tickers, you'll see. Why didn't any of you tell me that cruising was addictive???
Anyways....here's the door sign for what its worth...this is for Castaway Cay day and I have 6 more in the wings if this one doesn't suck.

Bill,
I love the sign. Of course Donald is my favorite Duck of all times!!!
I like the black and white background. It really sets off the characters.
But I think it should have one tiny yellow  in the corner. kinda like an arists signature??? Maybe one of those with the Mickey ears on or a pirate: hat.
Congratualtions on the RCCL cruise!! :Pinkbounc
We have toyed with that ideas too, but we have 4 DCL cruises booked already, so no time right now to try a new line.
Hope everyone is having a good day.
we are going to the movies :3dglasses and see the new superman movie. we have heard the special effects are quite good,so we'll see.
We went out and bought a nice pillow bed for minnie. She has been sleeping on a towel on the floor by the bed. She seems to like it pretty good. But we'll see if she will sleep on it tonight. It is in the family room today for her to adjust to it.
Tiggerking, before you say it, she doesnt want to sleep in the bed!!!
It is an adjustable bed and she is afraid of it because it moves up and down, which also makes noise!!
We also bought her 2 new toys this weekend for inside the house.
enjoy the rest of the weekend everyone,
kathy

Now you all know why I outlawed pumpkin carving at Halloween in my house years ago ... I'd be making the traditional square-eyes-triangle-nose-smiley-mouth-with-3-teeth on my pumpkin ... Bill would grab his dremel and carve the Mona Lisa in his.

:thumbsup2 Bill the picture is great....I love Donald and the parrot.. I do agree with Kathy, you really do need to put a banana for your signature!!!
Not much going on here..just hanging out. I got up early and drove to Chicago to visit my dad for a few hours. We went out for breakfast now back home to chill and get things in order for the dreaded work week ahead.
Have a great Sunday fellow Turkey travelers :rolleyes1

Bill - the sign is excellent!!
Kathy - have fun on your cruise - try and find out how long the pirate ship will be at CC - I really want to see it in Nov! The pkg is not here yet, but I imagine it will be along any day. I sent you an envelope on Friday (sorry about the delay :sad2: ).
Woo - thanks for the Canadian smilie eh!
It is pouring rain here - which I am OK with because the lawn is looking very brown! :umbrella:
Hope everyone has a great last few hours of the weekend before Monday morning :surfweb:

Thanks for the imput, everyone. Seems like you folks like the sign so I'll keep at it... Drawing those things by hand takes time so I'll be well occupied for a few weeks anyways.
As for the dancin nannys....I have special plans in the works for them....and those plans involve EVERYONE! (scared yet?).
Oh, c'mon....you're all closet dancin fruit and vegetable fans....just admit it---its the first step to recovery.http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i2/woogal/dancingfruits0nm.gif

Good Monday Morning to You All,
Last night was a nightmare DS had me up at 2am and from then on I was up and down. I am sooooo tired :surfweb: !!! This weekend we really did not do anything because it was bad weather. Today I am taking DS for a long walk and we are going to sit by the pool :beach: today because it is suppose to be soooooooooo nice :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: !! Well I hope you all had a great weekend and I will talk to you all tomorrow!!

Lynn, remember what they say - sleep when the baby sleeps. Those are truly words to live by - the laundry etc can wait! Hope you have a good day today.
Well, I spent alot of time last night checking out pirate outfits on ebay. I think we are going to splurge and get some really nice outfits. That way we can wear them for Halloween and the cruise and every other event we have to dress up in costume for the rest of our lives LOL. They are pretty cool though. I still havn't decided whether to get DH and DS tuxes for formal night - I don't really want to spend $$ on items we likely won't wear again, but the price is right on ebay and I figure we could wear them and then just sell them back again. So.....we'll see on that one. DH's car show went well over the weekend, although he was pretty beat by the time he got home. At least now he will be around the house a bit more. We are hoping the exposure will lead to more work for his division - fingers crossed! I went to visit him on Saturday and DS stayed with Grampy, so that was a nice break. It was also our anniversary on Saturday, but we didn;t get to do too much as it was the car show - so we'll have to try and get out for a nice dinner or something next weekend. Other than that, not too much new here. We got a bit of rain on the weekend, but not enough to really help my lawn. Oh well, hopefully it's hardy! I am a bit sick of work right now and am REALLY looking forward to our vacation - even if it is 4 months away.
Hope everyone has a great day - talk to you soon.

Bill: The sign looks okay, but the lines are a little sloppy. You think you could put a little more effort into it next time? ;)
It was a hectic weekend for Lisa and I. We lost power for about two hours on Friday. Saturday, spent most of the day working around the house until a severe thunderstorm came through and knocked out power at 5:30 p.m. It was not restored until 3:30 a.m., and it was an extremely hot day. So, I ended up not being able to go to sleep until 4:00 a.m. Sunday morning, knowing that I had a 3 hour drive occurring on Sunday afternoon to go to a client site. So, needless to say, I was a tired puppy yesterday, and am still tired today. But, that is life!
I hope that everyone has a wonderfull week. Visits will be minimal this week due to being on a tight schedule, but I will try and check in at least every night!

:sunny: Happy Monday.....
I hope everyone had a great weekend.
I have a question regarding birth certificates. DH does not have a middle name nor initial. So on his BC of course there is no name or initial. However, years and years ago, he started using his "confirmation name" (actually the initial) when signing his name. So on his drivers license there is a middle initial. Now my question, when showing his BC and drivers license will this be a big issue? We dont want any problems once we get there.
Thanks
Denise

Denise,
I dont think they will even notice a middle initial. But if you are reallly concerned I would call DCL and ask for sure. When we have gone they barely glanced at out birth certificates. In fact one time she didnt even pick them up to look at them. she just saw we had them and that was enough.
Hope everyone is having a great day!!

Good Tuesday Morning to you All,
How are you all today!! Yesterday was a day that I don't wanted to crawl back into bed because everything I did was wrong. Went to the pool and thought I did a good job putting on sun screen I was VERY wrong. I got the Irish tan SUN BURN!!! Today I going to attempt the pool again :beach: and hopeful with get tan and not burnt!!!
Denise: I don't think your DH will have a problem at all with his BC. I would call DCL and explain the problem to them.
Well have a great day and stay cool it is suppose to be HOT :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: !!!

WHAT an amazing sign, Bill! If I had that drawing, It would be framed on my livingroom wall! Do you take commissions???
We've made a command decision - no excursions - we're going to wing it! I'm a little nervous but it worked out great on Cozumel . . .
Does anyone have a list of all the DIS families on our cruise? I'm thinking about working on a little memento.

Ugh ... it's heating up again here in Ohio! :sunny: Believe it or not, Saturday it was just chilly enough that I had to wear jeans and a long sleeve shirt to dinner, plus we put the BIG comforter back on the bed just to keep warm! Now today we're pushing 90. Guess we'll have to close up the house and put on the A/C when we get home :sad2:
So another day down. I don't think this cruise is EVER gonna come! I'm starting to look for a nice doggie hotel for Guido to stay in ... no kennel is good enough for my baby! He's used to a certain amount of daily/hourly pampering, spoiling, and control over the humans :dog2:
I do have a somewhat abbreviated list of everyone, but Jamie has the expanded-super-duper-everything-you-could-ever-want-to-know list! She and I discussed actually trying to post it on here as a jpeg awhile back. Would anyone have any objections to that?

Shell,
i think it is a great idea to post the list of all of us for everyone to have a look at.
On previous cruises we did this and it was very helpful when we wanted to find someones room to contact them. Also it helped to get to know who is with who before we meet. It can be rather confusing once we all meet, trying to keep everyone straight.
I hope you guys manage to do this for us, that would be great,
Thankyou,
Kathy

its taken me a while to catch up! been gone for some time now! the cruise is not coming fast enough but we are also going to wdw for a week before for dbf's mom's birthday celebration and we are trying to get that all situated but alas, no one is a disboard and passporter hog like me! so needless to say last week we finally booked our rooms (akl) but have not made any dinner ressies (yikes! its thanksgiving week people!!!!!). as far as dinner i am so excited to link ressies and get that dining rotation if you guys can work your "magic". im thinking about booking palo's for the first night as i think it would be a good way to segway into family vacation the week before to couples vacation for the cruise. also parot cay is def not my favorite restuarant!!!! what do you guys all think? also as far as palo's goes if any one wants to book brunch with us we will be more than happy to do that if people want to go there more than once (sigh, how much do i love palo brunch? yum!) anyhow, let me know and i will do that asap.
as far as pirate's costumues go: target has slip on sneakers with metal pirates on them for the ladies on sale this week for $11, walmart has belts for the ladies for $5 with coins attached. target also has poc tank tops for women but not on sale, i forget how much they are. i got my outfit at hot topic in the mall, although not authentic pirate gear, it looks like it!
as far as the spreadsheet with all of our info, is there a way we can put the pics that everyone posted on there as well? that would be great! im going to try to follow the directions that everyone was so kind to send me and post some pics of me and dbf!
later nannas!

Well, now you spoiled my surprise! Actually, DW and I discussed this after we ordered our poster of the ship mosaic (I had multiple pictures in there). The software he uses is freeware, and I had thought about doing something for our group after we get back. Have everyone give me a CD with all of their pictures on it (the ones that they would be willing to share) and then do a mosaic of it and have CafePress do the printing for us.
Oh, BTW, here is a pic of DW and I on our 11/04 cruise. I didn't know if I had it in photobucket or not, but just checked. Don't let it scare you too bad!

Hello everyone! Doing some catchup......
I think I read somewhere in this thread about limo companies.....so is Happy Limo the one to go with or should I research others?
Lynn, My parents had this problem and it may not be the washing machine but it could be your water supply. It turns out the street sweepers came through one day and it somehow affected their water supply. They called the water authority, they came, checked it out and gave them some sort of detergent that removed the brown stains caused by the water....just a thought.
Woogal, The idea of posting a spreadsheet would be great. I don't know if I've shared our room #, let me know if you need more info on us.

I am really sick of this project I am working on at work and the cruise can't get here soon enough! 4 months doesn't seem too bad. The only bad thing is that means it will also almost be winter. :guilty:

[QUOTE=TiggerKing]Well, now you spoiled my surprise!

The link is in the thread about the DIS photomosaics that was started by rtphokie. I have not gone back and looked at the link and the actual software as yet, but I am pretty sure I remember him stating it is freeware. Then, he teamed up with a company called Cafe Press that will do the prints on an as-needed basis with no minimums required. I think I paid about $20 including shipping for a poster sized copy of the ship mosaic that he created. You can order cards, mugs, etc. from them.

Hope everyone is having a great week. It has been a good week even though I am traveling. I am in south Georgia very close to where a lot of my aunts & uncles live. So, last night I was able to have dinner with them and enjoy a real home cooked country meal. I had peas, creamed corn, cornbread, mashed potatoes, country fried steak, and homemade banana pudding (not that instant stuff)! :cool1: I was one happy camper! Of course, it didn't fit on my diet, but I wasn't turning down that stuff!
Supposed to be in the mid-90s AGAIN today down here. I had to go out and buy a small desk fan yesterday because our office has a huge window that makes it very hot.
Have a great day!

Hello everyone!
We are up in Traverse City, MI this week on a family vacation. It was a great practice-run for packing for the cruise! :)
It took my first free 20 minutes of Internet just to get caught up with posts! Unfortunately, I haven't been able to view the pictures, so I can't wait to see them.
Just wanted to say "Hi" and hope everyone is having a great week.

Good morning everyone ...
Well, I just went through about 50 pages of posts to make sure I had everything I needed to start this little list project. My gosh ... what an "eccentric, eclectic" group we are! In those pages, I read about or saw:
Fluffernutters
Wild turkeys
Dutch picking his nose on Castaway
Dancing bananas
Pictures of Lampy that I must have pushed out of my conscience mind (but, I do admit ... great legs! :rotfl2: )
The adventures of Minnie from her first sighting to moving into her new home
Kohl's
Scrapple
Pirate costumes
Dancing nannies
The arrival of New Baby Tigger41681
Woo begging Mutt for a puppy :dog2:
Cold weather
Hot weather
A super-sweet Mustang convertible
Dancing nanas
Welcomes to Andy, Danielle, Cheri and Runa
1:01 p.m. "meeting" at Signals
Dancing banana withdrawals and 12-step programs  *NOTE: Did not last
Getting "edumacated" on the cruise
Coconits
"Have a great vacation!"/"Welcome back from vacation!"
Lab puppies sleeping under a recliner
Woo begging Mutt for a puppy :dog:
Dancing bananas
Well, you get the idea!
I was doing all that to get started on this list with photos (no bosses here today at work :teeth: ). Once I get to a point where it's organized, I'll post to let you know what I'm missing. I may try to post an abbreviated version on the board and then e-mail the complete version to whomever wants it. Will let you know!

Hi again, everyone:
I'm working on this project and decided that the easiest way for me to do it is on one of my graphics programs. That means that when finished, I will convert it to a pdf and e-mail it to whomever wants a copy. Everyone should be able to view a pdf on your computer.
Here's who I have pictures of: Kathy & Greg, Sarah & family, Tonya & family, Linda & Bruce, Wendy & Mike, Bob & Lisa, Denise & Wally, Ron & family, Lynn & the baby, Cheri & Bill, and runa. If you want your picture included on this listing, e-mail it to me at woogal@hotmail.com. Refer to the DISBoard in the subject line so I don't delete it!!!
The list includes the following items (where I could find them): screen name, real names, who you're travelling with (kids and guests), hometown, cabin#, late or main seating, and special events/celebrations. If you have anything that you'd like included or NOT included, e-mail me (above).
I'd like to complete this next Monday, so hopefully I'll hear from you by then!

Today has been a fairly trying day and I am SO looking forward to our trip. And to top it all off I just realized I got pen all over my nice shirt/cardigan - tick me off!!!!!! :furious:
Oh well, it's almost the weekend and there is a liquor store downstairs so maybe I'll have a nice glass of wine tonight when I get home....before DH makes me play some convoluted pretend role playing game.
I got a nice surprise in the mail last night. My box from Disney Shopping.com arrived (thanks Kathy!!!). We have the hawaiian-matching-mouse-themed outfits for one of the casual nights - do they still do tropical/mexicalafagilistic (whatever) on one night?? If so, we'll wear them then. I also got a really nice Mickey polo top in lime green (good deal) but it is kinda big so I am going to try and shrink it. I am quite good at shrinking things I don't want to so I figure this should be a no-brainer :rolleyes1 Also got Dutch some Buzz and Dash stuff. NOw I just have to start keeping an eye out for fun stuff to put in his basket I am going to get Shirley at Perfect Gift to do up. I think he will really enjoy it. Does anyone know if they sell the Lanyard started kits at the Disney Store in the States?? Or is it from the Parks only? I think we might get him one of those so he can try out pin trading on the ship. We didn't go that far on our last trip to WDW, but I think he is a bit older now and would enjoy that (and he sure ain't getting my pins LOL!!!!!!!).
I've got our rental car, hotel and airlines tickets so I am happy about that. I also have a few things to do in Cocoa Beach for the few days before when we are there (arriving Thurs around 1pm). I need to look into our excursions on St Maarten and St Thomas but I have a pretty good idea what we are doing - Lotterie Farm on St Maarten and Coral World/Coki Beach on St Thomas. We are going to do these on our own so I want to see if I can get some scoop on them before we go.
OK, enough blah blah blah from me. Talk to you all tomorrow! :grouphug:

:) Happy Thursday fellow turkey cruisers:
I am sooooo happy that tomorrow is Friday. We have been working short staffed for about 2 weeks now and I am really tired. Today one of the ladies I work with, didn't come in. She got some upsetting news. Her son is in the Army and has been in Iraq since August last year. This week he was to be making his way back to Kuwait, then start his journey home. Well today she found out that he has to stay longer. At this point she is not sure how long, :confused3 but it could most likely be another 6 months. Gotta love the military. So she is having a hard time with this news.
We are getting some rain now. So we will see about cutting the lawn tomorrow after work. It needs it.
Have a great evening everyone.

Hi Shell,
I have all this info. on The List that I've been making and I can send it to you sometime on Monday.
But, the more I think about it, there's a lot of information that probably shouldn't be shared online like our real names paired with our hometowns and personal stuff about our kids. I know this is a nice Disney board but you never know who's out there reading. Not a big risk that our homes will get broken into while we're away or someone try to approach our kids but a risk nonetheless and we should surf safely. :beach:
On our last cruise, someone knew how to take The List and post it on a webpage and then we sent the link to everyone via email. This way, only us Dis-sers could see it and our info. was safe. Does anyone know how to unload to a webpage? It's a stretch for me to use Excel to make the spreadsheet let alone set up a website. Or, as an alternative, I can send everyone the spreadsheet via email. :surfweb:

The flooding here is in the county east of Cleveland where two rivers empty into Lake Erie, so we're not be affected by any flooding here in Akron. They just now ran another crawler on the TV stating another flood warning there, so apparently it's still not easing up any. :sad2:

Hi Woo,
He does have a website but it's for his business:
www.oddballkustoms.com
I'm not sure about linking the .pdf to it - would it have to actually 'show up' somewhere on the site?? He doesn't maintain it - they have some guy who does that at his work. If it is just a website you need to access the .pdf could we use MySpace? We have a profile already up and could use that. I am not particularly tech-saavy so am not sure. Can you not PM with a ,pdf attachment?
Hope everyone is having a great weekend. I spent most of the day at the barn. A famous 3 day eventer for the USA Olympic team was giving a clinic so I was watching and helping out. I'll be up there again tomorrow - it's cross-country day :thumbsup2

Cheri, I'm proud to say that I will be MUCH more help now as I averaged 109 watts the other night on the rowing machine! Think how much faster we'll be saved!! Maybe we can hook up a treadmill to the propellers on the ship and you can take over for a while!
Bob, I found Blue Lake Resort. I think you're going to be doing some driving to get there! I don't know Michigan that well (hopefully JanDave will see your post and have a better idea), but I'm pretty sure there are no real airports up that way. It look beautiful, though! www.bluelakeresort.com

Hey Everyone!
Well, it wasn't TOO hot down here today. The temp topped out at around 87. Of course, 50% humidity pushes the heat index up into the 90s!
DW and I are waiting on some friends to arrive. We are going to the Rascal Flatts concert tonight. One of our friends works for a division of Pepsi, and occaisionally she is able to get tickets for their suite at Philips Arena here in Atlanta. She has SPOILED us with going to concerts like this. So far, due to her generosity, we have seen Toby Keith, Aerosmith, Rolling Stones and I know I am forgetting someone. And that is just within the last year. At one time, I started figuring ticket prices and she has easily given us over $1500 worth of tickets in the last year (Stones alone were $850 per ticket for lower level). Her and her husband also took 2 of our pups from the last litter. So, we have brought her some joy in return. :dogdance:
Have a great day everybody!

Howdy everyone,
well all our company arrive late last night. Their plane was an hour late, so by the time we got home and visited some, and got to bed it was early morning, then off by 7 a.m. to be to MK by the time it opened this morning. We had a great day. :woohoo: We beat most of the lines, only had to use one fast pass all day. GK's loved the changes inthe Pirates of the caribbean ride too.
It wa shot but not really bad like it has been recently, so that was good. But this old lady is POOPED!!! But I kept up with the grandkids all day, so they didnt get the better of me yest, of course this is only day one!!! :rolleyes1
Minnie was scared of everyone last night for about 20 minutes, the she started having a blast. This was her first real socializing with people other than us and the Vet. She was so hyper I finally had to make her lay down and close our door so she had to stay there with us. This morning she was greeting everyone and just going from one room to the next. She wagged her tail so much I thought it would fall off!! :rotfl2:
Of course she was upset when she couldnt go to MK too. But after we got home she finally forgave us for leaving after a little help from some doggie treats. She is one tired pup tonight. She will sleep like a rock tonight and we will be home all day tomarrow so she will have people to play with all day.
Well I wont have to worry about anyone from the dis board from our next cruise recognizing us. Just look for our daughter and we will be close by. She will be easy to spot, she has bright PURPLE hair!!!! (Dont' ask :rotfl: )
Yes she is grown up (32) has 2 kids and works a good job, no she is NOT a party animal, she just likes feaky hair colors.
At Least Purple is a disney color at WDW. :thumbsup2
Actually she has weird colored hair often because she works with mentally and physically challenged kids and they love the bright hair colors. She keeps their attention better and the kids often smile or maybe even laugh, which they dont do hardly at all.
Plus she just likes being different I think?? :confused3
It will be intersting to say the least!!
Hope everyone had a great weekend too!

Hi Bob: Blue Lake Resort -- the closest airport, I think, would be Grand Rapids; probably 1.5 hours away. I never heard of this resort and had to do some checking. Looks nice. We are "up north" a lot and didn't know about that place. If you go, let us know. Maybe we can have a mini DIS meet in the north country.
Back to work tomorrow to support my habits -- grandkids and DCL.
Have a great week everyone.

Good morning everyone,
well I was up at 5 as usual. Family is still asleep.
Today is my grandsons birthday so we are baking a birthday cake this morning and having BBQ for dinner, per his request.
Minnie keeps checking the bedroom doors, she cant figure out why people are still in bed at 5 a.m. After all she is up, so why not the rest of the house???
Hope everyone has a great Monday. :goodvibes
I am having a hard time keeping my ,mouth shut about the upcoming cruise. :rolleyes1

:sunny: :sunny: :sunny: It is going to be hot hot hot....today...we are reaching 100 degrees today.....I have to work the "later shift" again today. I dont like working this shift 12p till 8pm. Its not that bad, it just I am a morning person...I'd rather be at work early and "get it over with" and home early so I can have the rest of the eveing to myself.
Kathy you have a great time with your family and enjoy the cruise...which are you doing? eastern or western? See how smart these dogs are!! They are such a blast. My dog is good Monday - Friday..knows my schedule, plus I wear scrubs to work, so he knows when I put thoes on I'm working...but like today and when I work saturdays...even though he see's me getting ready in the "same clothes" because my time is not the same or "daddy" is home on saturdays he goes nuts when I leave. He wraps he legs around mine so I wont leave. It's kinda funny, but it drives me nuts.
Well have a good Monday everyone...I'll check in this evening when I get home..
Denise
Oh, I have tried to convience my sister Marge to chat with us on the boards..she said that she would, so I'm looking forward to her chatting with us. She has been on and reads whats going on but has not posted yet.

PS - I have totally changed my hair since the pic was taken though LOL :teeth:
And it is freakin' hot here too - 46 degrees (let's just agree that is hot up here and leave it at that eh). Canadians love to talk about the weather, so the local news channel is go full-force on the heat wave and delving into the off-shoot stories a la CNN like a)hottests days though history, b)how to keep cool, c) how to keep your garden cool, d) how to keep your pets cool, e) how to keep your bills cool from cooling all of the above.....you get the picture. My Dad just laughs because he is in Thailand and it is this hot there every day and most of the people there don't have A/C.

Howdy everyone,
well everyone is sleeping in again accept DH and myself. he is off to work and I am doing laundry and a few basic, quiet cleaning things.
Even Minnie is taking a nap. Last night was GS's birthday. While everyone had chocolate cake Minnie got a frosty paw, so she wasnt left out. Then they went in the pool until way after I went to bed. It was a very good evening for all.
Shell, even though we sent our heat your way, we didint send it all. With the humidity today will be 105+ depending on where you are. I was thinking I should spread a little more of it around to everyone, so we can cool off some.
Any takers???? :confused3
Now there is tropical storm Chris out there in the tropics and they think it will be a hurricane soon. now that doesnt mean much to all of you, but we cruise this saturday!!! So send some Pixie dust our way for good weather!!!

I sure am here, and have even posted - but honestly - those dancing bananas make me dizzy, so i have to try to read without looking, if you know what I mean.
We did a major yard renovation this summer finishing on Sunday, so you can imagine we haven't spent a WHOLE lot of time in front of the computer. It needed it desperately - I've had fibromyalgia for about 10 years and haven't been able to work out there and my dh wasn't interested, so it was sadly overgrown. This year, he got the bug to do it and WOW what a difference some additional muscle makes!
What day is the Signal's 1:01 meet? That would be one I could get my DH to actually attend! lol
Is there a list of meets planned?
WooGal, I'd be happy to help with the spreadsheet if you need help.

OK, seriously we are actually in a heat wave (with humidity it was 118.4 degrees yesterday - can you believe it!!!!! It was the hottest day on record for us). Well I was sick of being in the house for the last few days so I went to the Mall with DS :earsboy: and my sister-in-law and niece. The Hallmark Store has the cutest Disney ornaments for Christmas. 93 degrees, 47% humidity and a heat index of 99. On top of that, it has been a really crappy day at work. :furious: I have one member of my team that I would prefer to strangle at this point rather than talk to him, and one member of the client's team for which I have the same feelings! I have threatened to go back to the hotel pool this evening and spend a great deal of time underwater screaming at full volume. Of course, I would occaisionally come up for air, but none of these people better be in my line of vision!
Okay, breathe deep, imagine sunny beaches and ocean waves. You know, if I make it that long, November might not be a bad time to take up drinking. Heck, tonight might not be a bad time to take up drinking! :drinking1
Have a wonderful day everyone. And Kathy, Chris or not, I would love to take your place on the ship this weekend. The GKs would probably be more rational than some of the people I have dealt with this week.

Love the icons...When you see my kids dancing at the Golden Mickeys after party and Family Disco Night, you'll see how appropriate ours is. We'll be closin' the joint down! My ds, (age 10 on Saturday!), loves dancing to the Disco Music!
RUNA - What's the weekend for the Irish Festival. We're down there ( :beach: )a lot...if we're there that weekend, we should catch up and say "hey"!
I think we figured out that we're going to try and get a Palo ressie for St. Thomas night. I think the Master Chef menu is my least favorite and, if we get the right rotation, we'd be in Parrot Cay, which is my least fave restaurant. Still need to think about excursions and spa treatment for me and dh but I'm very excited to pay this puppy off next week (well, at least run it through my charge card!)

Nothing else exciting here except that my daughter will be home on Monday for a couple of weeks, before she leaves for Iraq. So I am looking forward to seeing her. Good Morning!
I will be away from the boards for about 5 days as my West Virginia kids/gkids are coming today. Can't wait to see them! Our whole family will be together this weekend - first time in about 2 years.
We got the storms last night, too. Glad it's cooled down a bit.
Talk to you next week.

We are enjoying ours, lots of spoiling going on around here the past few days. ;)
hope everyone is having a great week. :goodvibes
I am happy today because tropical strom Chris seems to be fading away and missing us this time, :cloud9: so our cruise should be ok, of course if it stays where it is for awhile we may have to change our stops this trip, but that is ok too. :teeth:
Time to get moving, grandkids will be up soon and this old lady needs time to get the muscles moving in the morning!! Can't let them get the better of me yet!! :dance3:

Good morning fellow nana-lovin' cruisers!
The cold front finally went through last night and we had a nice steady rain this morning -- no storms! :) For those of you in the east, relief should be heading your way. :thumbsup2 (Key word, of course, is SHOULD!)
We've been busy at work trying to dig out from everything that came in last week when we were gone. My self-discipline kicked in and kept me away from the DIS! :rotfl: :rotfl:
Shell - Great list! Thanks so much for all the work you put into it. The   icons were all so appropriate!
I also noticed a :drinking1 party: trend in those photos as well!!! Should be a fun time at Signals and wherever else we happen to meet! :cool1:
I think we're going to skip excursions and check things out on our own. Counting the days till we can get spa & Palo ressies!
Better get back to work! Have a great day    lovers!

It has been a better day at work today, but I still want to cause serious injury to one of my team members. I just keep telling myself that I only have to deal with him a few more days! (That REALLY sounds bad, doesn't it?)
Anyhow, enjoy your Thursday everybody!

We have decided on St. Marteen excursions, but are up in the air about what to do on St. Thomas / St. John. Hopefully we will decide before the 26th.
Kathy have a great time, eat some Mickey Bars for all of us that are on diets. We will be sending good thoughts your way for a safe return. Poo poo on Chris.

Hey Michelle! Good to see you're still with us!
To answer your question...yes. I do the drawing by hand and I'm trying to develop some skills in photoshop so I do the color and blends in there. I know it sounds like cheating but I find it just as challenging as a brush and a tube of paint :artist: . Eh, I guess either way is fun to me. Btw...thats the last posted one, kids--if you wanna see the rest, you're just gonna have to walk by our cabin and say hi to us...(bring coffee if its morningtime---hehe).
Well, we woke up with one thing on our minds...the first thing out of my dw was "g'mornin hon---I love ya" NOT. No, it was "its gonna be great spending my sunday with ya"--- NOT. No, the first thing outta her mouth was "honey, go up to deck 9 and get us a coffee, would ya?" A lil obsession?
Probably, because my first thought was "KATHY AND HER FAMILY JUST WOKE UP ON THE OCEAN---GRRRRR).
anyways, enough of my rant....I hope everyone has a great sunday!!

Happy Monday Morning everyone! It was an okay weekend. We had some heavy duty storms on Sat. night and lost power for about 5 hours again (getting sick of this routine). Although one good thing came out of it. DW and I went to Wal-Mart and found some small battery powered fans for camping with a small light on them. We bought them to help stay cool during the outage, but quickly realized that they would be great in the room to help keep cool when the AC can't quite keep up (we like a COOL room). They were $13 each and run on d-cell batteries. If you are prone to being warm, it might be a consideration for the cruise.
Well, I am back in South Georgia for at least today and tomorrow. I will be glad when this project is over!
Have a great week!

Well I got home late. I had a doctor appt. after work. So of course had a 5:30 appt. and didnt see the doctor until 6:10. Anyway I finally made it home.
My daughter was to be home tonight. She is driving in from Colorado. Was to leave very early this morning, but alas....this is the military that were talking about. So she call's me at 10am and say's that she is still on base. I guess a few kids got DUI's this weekend...so mass punishment. No one could leave until noon. Hi Banana Heads:
Here's a little fun reading for you. Scott Adams writes the Dilbert comic strip and just got married a couple of weeks ago. For their honeymoon, they opted for a "familymoon" as he called it (kids, parents ... you get the picture) and guess where to? Yep, Disney Magic! :sail: Check out his blog entitled "Cruising" at http://dilbertblog.typepad.com/
Enjoy!!
P.S. Lynn: My mother swore by a peeled, frozen carrot that she'd let us (and her grandkids) gnaw on. It worked.
LindaBabe

Tigger. . . my mom rubbed the gums with a little good bourbon. I suppose the frozen carrot is more pc, nowadays.
Shell, how far down that blog did you read? I was laughing so hard my husband came down to see what the trouble was.
WEndy, I'd eat EVERY meal in Palo, if they'd let me!

Well I dont have to start work until a little later this morning. So was able to "sleep in". Got to bed later as my DD came in around 10:30 last night. While she unpacked her car, I had to keep an eye on our dogs. I have to say, that my dog was happy to see his "cousin" and they were running around and playing two minutes after she got here. I just hope this last's as I have custody of her dog until she gets back from Iraq. So next year around this time. Keeping my fingers crossed that I dont have any major problems between the two dogs. :sad2: But I was happy to see my daughter, I havent seen her since Christmas.

Hey, what happened to our counters? Those that are not from TickerFactory.com aren't working. Now I don't know when my cruise is...
Ahh...I just looked at ******************** and it said the account had been suspended due to overuse! I guess us DISers blew their bandwidth out of the water. Well, it is back to TickerFactory, then! :rolleyes1

I'm not going to complain though. I LOVE fall. (our cruise is in the "fall")

Oh, Cruisemutt, you may want to make copies of your beautiful art for people to take so they leave your door signs alone.... Even if you personalize the heck out of them, people may still take them because the picutres are so very awesome.

Hey Bob....maybe its too many dancing nanas fouling up the board...and worry not, we'll tell you when to make your way to Port Canaveral--I have a feeling a few people have it written down somewhere (mines in 6" letters on a dry erase board where the whole shop can see it...oh, yeah, and theres a big "nyah-nyah-nyah, we're going and YOU'RE NOT" next to the countdown number.
Stay cool, my friend,....summers almost over (sorry, DW....but it is). :sunny:

Mutt, as long as someone notifies me at least the day before, I can be there on time. You know us men, we can pack for a month in 30 minutes. And, no, that is not a stretch. I packed for a one month business trip to Europe in 30 minutes. I received notice of the trip on Wed., when I was in Detroit, had to return to Atlanta on Thursday, close on a house on Friday, and fly on Saturday! Now THAT was a stressful three days!
Plus, I am sure that DW will not let me forget when it is!
Athene: You are making me VERY jealous with your weather reports. Those are prime temps for me when I am at home! I don't wish for them on our cruise, but they would be nice right now!

I want to know how you men pack like that? I have to plan for weeks, have different lists for different trips, my husband can be ready in like 10 minutes for a weekend away from the house. Me, I do that and i forget to pack like underware or something. Its not just fair.
Speaking of packing (WOMEN) what is the one thing that you could NOT live without on the cruise? ( :difficulty: not saying HUSBAND or significant other) Me, it is the over the door shoe hanger, I got one last minute last year because of tip I had read, I used it for everything. No clutter, no crap laying everywhere in the cabin, so shampoo bottles being left in the tub, nothing. It was great. Its actually in the suitcase waiting to go this year.
Have a great Wednesday, we have soccer this evening with 98 degree weather, should be interesting.

Hello NanaHeads
Oh now, Tonya ... the only thing I couldn't live without on my cruise would be my DH!! Oh, no, wait. Now that I think about it, I could probably do the cruise without him and not have too many problems. So I'm stumped by your question. :rotfl2: I'M JUST KIDDING, PEOPLE!!!!
Linda: I try to read that blog a few times per week. He's a great writer, isn't he?
I wish I was with Wendy today ... Sushi and a movie!
For those that have pondered, I don't even think Kathy remembers who we are at this point! :rotfl:
We have cooled down quite a bit as well. Had to pull the heavy comforter up on us (and, of course, on Guido who sleeps between us ... spoiled rotten dog!) last night just to stay warm. Awesome sleeping weather!!!

Work has been hectic (I should be working right now, but I was having major       withdrawals!). I guess busy is good, so I shouldn't complain too much. :confused3

Today DD is feeling a bit sore from the tetanus shot so I get to work from home today. :cheer2: (Poor DH is on his own in the office.)

I am a big NFL fan, but the recent performance by my beloved GB Packers has been nothing short of dismal. I love Brett but he really needs to pack it in - sad but true.
HHAPPY FRIDAY EVERYONE!!!!!!!  I am SO glad it is the weekend....even though this was a short week for us it seemed LONG. I'm going up to a friend's place this weekend for a Girls Night - nail polish and People Magazine - what a life LOL. My Dad will only be around until mid-Sept so I need to make the most of his babysitting offers :teeth:
It's been beautiful weather here - similar to NY I would imagine - cooler at nights but nice (75 ish I would say) during the day. It is definately getting darker earlier at night though, which brings thoughts of fall. Up here we do not use the 'S' word before Thanksgiving just in case :rolleyes1
DS is starting JK in 3 weeks which I am both excited and sad about - time is going so fast!
I read a post from Shirley about the MAW families and the DAID. I PM'd her to see if there was anyone she was aware of on our cruise. I offered to help but was thinking that if there is a family maybe the Turkey-Bananaheads would be willing to do something as a group?? No pressure here, just a thought. I'll let you guys know if something comes back from Shirley.
As for baskets - I am going to get one for DS. I think some sand toys, hotwheels and some treats. I'll have to talk to Shirley in a month or two to organize that. I am also planning on picking up some wine/beer/liquor in Cocoa Beach before we board. I like a glass or two of wine but hate paying the price per glass for it! I am trying to think of stuff we will need for the cruise as all summer stuff is on sale right now, but can't think of too much. I think we are going to splurge and buy Pirate costumes off ebay - they are SO COOL pirate: and we can use them for Halloweens etc to come. We are going to keep DSs costume pretty basic - with lots of fake tattoos. Hopefully they will come off before formal night LOL.
Hope all is well with everyone.

Thanks again for your kindness.

And BTW, I did fix one of my tickers. But, Mousehouse says they are working on getting the site set back up, so I am holding out for the restart! popcorn::
Kathy: Welcome back. I know you don't want to be back, but we are eagerly awaiting your trip report!

O.K. guys......looks like there could be a HUGE problem with our sailing now..................Well with all of the "no liquid" rules for flying those 4 bottles of absolute I usually purchase and the bottles of rum?!?!?!?!?!? If I can't bring it on the plane home???????????????? Who will help me drink it? :cool1:

Ron, just do as I suggested to a poster on the main board....bring a LOT of bubble wrap and a big ziploc bag just in case it does break! ;)

Now I get to go grocery shopping and them make dinner.... :goodvibes I just love my life. Maybe I shouldnt go on this cruise. I may never get back to normal, after having turn down service and all my meals made and served to me......second thought I guess I'll make the sacrifice.... :rolleyes1 I dont want to spoil DH's fun...
Well have a great saturday evening everyone.
I'm getting the hang of the two dogs here. Lesson learned do not give them any chew's and they get along great. If I give them chews they seem to want to kill each other....

First, welcome KATIE AND FAMILY!!! Glad you could join us!!!
OK, people, explain something to me. Why is it that I can NEVER walk into a Target and only get what I went there for? What is it about that place? :confused3 Today I went for swim goggles, came out with goggles (on clearance), a new chain link and leather belt (but it was on clearance!) and sneakers (but they were marked down!!). And if I wouldn't have controlled myself, there would have been about 10 more belts, loads of eye shadow, a few bags (really, really cute red leather-like satchel for one!), and a dress that would've been perfect for semi-formal night that would've come home with me, too!
PERFECT weather here today and for the next week! Spent an hour laying out until the Target bug caught me!
WELCOME HOME KATHY!!!! You have a LOT of reading to catch up on!!

Lampski, although drinking it would, of course, be more fun, couldn't you just ship the alcohol home from a 'mailboxes' store in Orlando?
That being said, I wish they'd just chace the terrorist and leave the rest of us alone - now I hear they're not even allowing baby gel filled teethers and pacifiers. Flying is going to be SUCH a JOY.

Good Morning Everyone, and welcome aboard Katie!
It is actually starting off as a beautiful day here today with the temp around 65. We are only supposed to go up to 80 degrees today, so we will enjoy it while we can. Tomorrow, it is back into the 90s, but maybe the humidity won't be so bad!
Have a great Sunday everyone!

Hi Katie...welcome to you and your family....
Linda....I agree. This whole terrorist thing is a big pain for everyone (still, its probably for the best---better safe than sorry, right?). Maybe someone can help me out, though. I didn't hear or read the whole thing. Do these new regulations include everything including stuff packed and stored in stowed suitcases? All I wanted was a bottle of Starbucks Coffee Liqueur and some really good Tequila at those lovely duty-free prices---fiddlesticks... foiled again.
Hey Bob...I ran into some of your friends on my walk yesterday morning. I walk near a historical farm in our area and every year they hold a re-enactment of a civil war battle. I was stopped by a garrison of confederate troops moving acrossed a path. I told them that we would soon be moving towards Atlanta and that they WOULD respect OUR author-ata.
Anyways...
Have a great Sunday, everyone....
Stay cool.
