Hi all! Happy Holiday weekend!! :cool1:

Kathy -- Congrats on the new addition! Makes me miss our little beagle, Benny! Now we have 2 cats, Wyatt & Doc, so that's enough for now! Hope Minnie perks up soon!!

Runa -- We're also in "steerage" with you -- 1079 & we actually chose that one! :Pinkbounc It's the same cabin we had on Wonder last year and it worked great! Very quiet -- and we like it really dark when we sleep, so we can put the $$ saved toward drinks & spa! :thumbsup2

Hi Sarah -- We had booked the DCL ground transfer so that's why we ended up with the Hyatt. Guess I should've been checking out DIS before we booked our cruise! We'll just have to get together at the terminal! My DD Jessalyn really loved the Club -- she was a little over 4 at the time. She never wanted to leave -- if she's enjoying it as much this time, we may let her eat with the kids group or feed her from room service or Pluto's. Then, it's adults-only for dinner!  (DSS 15 will probably be trying to get out of eating with us as well!)

I'll check out the shirts and get our info to 4foxesinPA. . . (I still have so much to catch up on!!) :confused3

Oh Denise -- at least your DH actually sees the toys he's buying ahead of time! My DH has purchased 2 vehicles from E-Bay! :rotfl2: A truck and a Firebird w/ T-Tops (mid-life crisis??) -- he said the moon roof on the other car didn't allow enough sun in on his drive to work!! :lmao: Luckily both vehicles were in excellent condition -- no unpleasant surprises.

Enjoy the weekend! :yay: :yay:

HI Tonya!

Please put us down for 3 shirts (1 LG, 1 Med, and 1 kids small - I think (for a 5 YO)). Sounds like they run pretty true to size so hopefully these will work!

Just let me know what you need from me to finalize.

Thanks!

Happy Saturday to Everyone,
It's a nice hot :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: here in New York. It's great because I was at the pool all day!! I need some kind of tan before the summer is over!!

Shell: Kohls is my favorite store. I can also found what I am looking for there. And the baby outfits are soooooo cute there too. :yay: :yay: !! You are my kind of gal!!! I have a problem I like to shop!!! DH doesn't like that to much!!

Tonya: Put me down for one L and one oneies 6-9 months. Thanks :thumbsup2 !!!

Kathy: Good Luck with your new addition :dogdance: :dogdance: !!!!

Well let me go I have to make a Key Lime Pie for my friend's house. We are going there for a BBQ. Tomorrow my in-laws' house. Busy weekend!!

Happy Sunday Morning Everyone!

Cheri: If you can use the logic that you have to spend money to save money, then he can use the logic that the T-roofs allow in more sun than a sunroof (which they really do ;) ).

Another hot weekend in Hotlanta! Hit 100 around our house yesterday. I would not do ANYTHING outside that I didn't have to during the day on Saturday. Today is a church cook-out in the afternoon. Temps should be right around 95 when the grill is fired up!

DW and I went to a party for a friend who was in town last night. Got to see some local fireworks on the way home (one of the advantages of the convertible).

NO WORK TOMORROW! YEAH! Going to relax a little bit. Everyone have a great July 4th!

Good morning everyone,
well it is extra humid lately so it feels extra hot. :sunny:
Too hot for me. DH worked all day in the heat putting up the fence. he is 3/4 of the way done. He will finish today and paint in a couple of weeks after he has rested up.
He wants Minnie to be safe  so he is really working hard on his days off. He did make one BIG discovery though, he is NOT as young as he use to be :rotfl: When you are 50+ putting up a 6ft wooden fence by yourself is not too smart!
But this isn't the first time he has done this, but it may be the last. :confused3
Minnie is feeling better today, :goodvibes she is actually being playful so the effects of the shots must be wearing off, I hope!! She stays right on my heels all day long. Plus she know what cupboard her treats are in. :cloud9: She stands there with her nose pushed against the door and wimpers. I think things will work out Ok for all of us, we seem to be bonding well. But today we start house breaking her, so the next few days may not be much fun for her. Plus today the harness goes on to get use to.

Well I was all set to watch the shuttle from our back yard yesterday, but no such luck. :guilty: Today will probably be too cloudy to see it. We have seen several from our house and it is fun to watch. I like night launches, they look like a big ball of fire at night, really neat to see.

well have a great day everyone and if you get tomarrow off, enjoy!! DH has to work, but will have tuesday off. He will need it to rest up from putting up the fence.

Hi Everyone and Welcome Cheri and her family.

I've been off the Boards for a few days as Dave and I became grandparents again -- Grandchild #6 was born on 6/29. Her name is Samantha Hyatt; 8 lb. 14 oz. Just love my precious new Angel. We had a busy week taking care of big brother, Sean.

Hard to believe that the 2nd of three summer holidays has arrived. Can't wait for Thanksgiving to arrive.

Visited my favorite store yesterday -- Kohls. Got some good buys on toys. I'm an early Christmas shopper. With 6 grandkids to buy for, I shop all year long. I plan to have all Chrsitmas shopping done before our cruise so I don't have to shop and wrap after our wonderful 7 days on the Magic.

We've had beautiful weather in mid-Michigan the past few days. We are taking a mini up north vacation to Mackinac Island in a few weeks. Anyone visited the Island? Great getaway.

Have a fun and safe holiday weekend.

Jan

You are 2 ahead of me, hope someday my sons will marry and I will catch up with you. She was a big girl, that was almost 9 pounds!! I am glad she is healthy and doing well.

Maybe she will love Micky bars like her grandpa!

Good morning everyone! Hope you're having a long weekend like Bill and I. We were busy all weekend with Mom & Dad's 50th anniversary celebration, so really today and tomorrow is our "weekend". But then we need 2 days just to catch up on relaxing ... and try to burn off all the food we had over the past couple of days!

Congratulations on your new granddaughter, Jan! And welcome to the DIS/Kohl's Fan Club! :woohoo:

Kathy: I'm (im)patiently waiting for pics of Minnie  HURRY! We live across the street from a park, so lots of dog walkers come by every day. On Friday, I looked out and saw a new "furry neighbor" I've never seen before ... I ran over to meet "Mugsy", who, as it turns out, is a 4-month-old Boston terrier! I can hardly remember Guido at 4 months! The lady asked me, "So when do they settle down?" I said, "Well, Guido turns 15 in 8 days and he calmed down about 6 months ago!" I think I scared her!! :scared1:

Hope you all have a great holiday. We had a great long weekend. Went out on a friends boat all day Saturday and then watched the Canada Day fireworks from the harbour - really fun! I told DS we were preparing for the 'Mickey Boat' lol.

How is everybody? I hope everybody has a safe and enjoyable 4th of July    . DS went for this 2 month check up yesterday and got his first set of shots. He was really good. I think I was more scared and nervous then him. We went shopping at Woodbury Commons Outlets in Harrriman Ny yesterday and did really good at the Carter's outlet. You think the cruise was for a month the way I bought him clothes!! But they are so cute :cool1: :cool1: !! Well I have to run to Walmart to put up a few things that I forgot for my BBQ. GOOD MORNING!!!

I hope everyone had a good 4th. :thumbsup2
Ours was different than the usual experiences we have had.
The neighbor behind us had a good size fire in his yard, near his chicken coop. I had just stepped outback to take Minnie out for a potty break and I heard a loud BOOM!! then throught the cracks in the fence I saw lots of flames. So I called my DH and I climbed on the fence boards so I could see over the top of the fence and boy there were lots of huge flames, even burning a couple of trees. It was quite windy out, so it was kinda scary thinking it could blow our way. Soon the fire department came and took care of it. :)
Then of course Minnie didnt like the noises or bright flashes. :guilty: :guilty: She barked for the first time and ran circles around the yard, running into stuff and just as stiff as aboard. I finally got her back into the house and we kept talking to her and petting her to calm her down. My son's dog did the same thing, only he hid in a closet. A full size Lab hiding in a coat closet must of been a site to see. aneyway the fireworks didnt le tup until almost midnight, so i had a very late night last night!! I feel like a new mom for sure!! I need a nap today, accept today is a visit with the vet for a checkup.

Have a great day everyone, hopefully we will get some rain later today.

I hope that everyone had a great weekend. It was pretty much a relaxing 4 day weekend for DW and I! Short work week and that much closer to the cruise.

Do you folks realize that we hit the 90 day mark next month?  (I'll join Mutt's banana fixation for a day)

Hey Mutt, I'll grab a banana with you! Our kit was in our mail today as well. But, our letter did show the CC Club date of 8/27/06 for reservations. Did you go through a travel agent? If so, it sounds like they didn't get your CC number posted on the ressie. I would contact them ASAP and see if they can get it corrected. If not, I would call DCL myself and see if they can fix it. Happy Thursday Everyone! I am so happy to have a short work week!

It has cooled off a little bit here in Georgia with the anticipated high today only going to be 82 with a chance of rain! A good break from the near 100 degree temperatures over the weekend!

I ordered two lanyards from a seller off of ebay. Cost me $4.25 for both, and they are much better quality than the Wal-Mart ones. Hey Lynn: Check out e-bay. I did a search on Disney Suitcase and came up with 31 hits. Several of which were The Incredibles and Finding Nemo (all suitable for that boy). Also check out disneydirect.com. They have a big sale going on right now.

Katie: I really like the lanyards and I think you will be pleased as well. I received them yesterday and bought them on Saturday, so a VERY quick turnaround, even with a holiday in the middle.

I need to ask a favour............

Disney Direct won't ship to Canada. If I wanted to buy something (the matching Waikiki outfits for the family that are on sale :thumbsup2 ) would someone be willing to have me ship to their house and either keep it for me until the cruise or mail it up to me? I would pay shipping. No pressure on anyone - just asking. :teeth:

Dutchsmommy,
PM me and I will give you my address and you can have stuff sent here if you want. I live near the post office so it would be easy for me to send it to you no problem.

Glad you guys liked the picture.

Shell, she is a breed called Boston Terrier Boxer for the most part, with a little lab. The Vet told me that, I had never heard of it. She has gained a few pounds already and her ribs barely show now. She weighed 42 1/2 pounds yesterday at her check up. She comes about 6 inches above my knee. guess I should measure her and see how tall she is.

Denise, I wish your daughter was along too, although both our kids would probably stop talking to us if they knew what we had plotted together.

Have a great night everyone,

Denise,
I was teasing Peter that he was going to meet his prospective mother in law on the cruise. He thought that was pretty funny. Then he surprised me and asked me to ask you if your daughter would be interested in a pen pal to e-mail while she was away. :confused3
I was surprised, but he is a very friendly guy with dozens of friends, men and women, he just loves meeting people. Guess that is why he has advanced so quickly at WDW. He was serious, so the next time you talk with your DD, would you ask her if she wants a pen pal?? If so, PM me and I will give you his e-mail address.
After all that I sat back and thought, this is kind of spooky :wizard: after all the teasing we did, if they actually became friends. I guess strange thing can happen.

Hope everyone has a great weekend, we are installing doggie doors this weekend if all goes well.

I found all the dancing bananas lately very a-peeling, so here is my contribution to the cause.

Happy Saturday to Everyone,
It's going to be a cool day in the 70's :sunny: :sunny: here in New York. Last night on the Travel channel me and DH watched the making of the Disney ships. It was pretty neat!! Dh didn't get home from work until 7:30pm because a truck flipped over on Thruway. An hour trip took 3 hours he was not a happy :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: man when he walked in the door. Today we are going to walk around the Bear Mountain State Park and saw DS all the animals in the little zoo.

My parents are 10 days apart in birthdays and they are both turning the big 50 :yay: :yay: . My dad is on the 10th and mom is on the 20th. Does anybody know where I can get funny 50th's gifts?? Denise: Your husband's response cracked me up!

Hope everyone is having a good weekend. Needed a good laugh (and received it) when I logged on. A young man in our church (college age) was shot to death last night. He had just finished helping a friend do some work on his new house and they were going bowling. Some guy walked up and asked for money. When this young man told him he didn't have any, the guy pulled a gun and shot him. DW and I went down to visit with the family this morning when I got the call. There is a lot of stupid stuff happening in this world these days! :confused3

Sorry for the downer, but I just had to let that out a little bit. DW and I are cleaning up around the house today, and I bought a new battery for the motorcycle. So, hopefully we can go for a ride later today! :moped:

Runa00,
I am working on my door signs this week. I am doing a pirate theme and maybe one with a big banana on it in honor of our fearless banana leader Bill.
I think all the disers should put a little banana on the corner of their signs so we will know we are from this group. Then put the turkey in the other corner.
That is how we can recoginse each others rooms as we walk down the halls.I usually do 2 or 3 signs, each with a different theme.

well Minnie learned to come in the doggie door, :goodvibes but she is very timid about going out the door. :confused3 Not bad for 24 hours of training. :thumbsup2 Today we will work more on the going out thing. Of course she came back in and snuck upstairs to our room and curled up on the floor next to my side of the bed to sleep.
So I got up and got a nice beach towel for her to lay on. Then she got me up at 3 a.m. :guilty: to help her go out her door to go potty!! I told her to go to daddy, but no such luck!!! At least she could get back in on her own, then zipped back by my bedside to sleep.
Today we get her stitiches out so got to go,

Have a great Monday everyone,

Kathy, it sounds like Minnie is receiving the appropriate amount of spoiling. Of course, you may need to turn it up a notch since she is sleeping beside the bed instead of in it! :thumbsup2

Runa: I haven't started on door signs either. I plan on doing one for each of the them nights (formal, semi-formal, Pirates) as well as one for CC day and a start of cruise sign. Geez, that is 5 signs. I need to get to work! :surfweb:

Hey everyone....My goodness, we're gonna be the best lookin' bunch to ever cruise on a disney ship!! (I hope I'm gonna be allowed to go with the rest of ya)

Anyhoo....I have to apologize for a couple of things.
1. For getting everyone hyped up on the banana thing and abandoning my post AND

2. For failing my 12 step program (actually I slipped on a nana peel somewhere around step 3--sorry, kids-I'm back).

Kathy - I got a conf. Disney shipped today so you should see it soon - thanks again!

So everyone, I am officially on the waiting for SWA bandwagon. We were going to fly out of Toronto with Airmiles, but they do not have the spots available on the flights we want. So...looks like we are heading over to BUffalo once again to fly SWA. We have always had great experiences with SWA, so hopefully we will experience the same this time. I am fairly flexible on the dates so am hoping for a good DING! once they open up the dates. The only thing I am worried about is driving across the boarder this close to American Thanksgiving - hopefully it won't be too packed!!! :hourglass

Lyn,
Send some of those thunderstorms my way!!
They say everyday we are going to have them and at my house we have had 0 rain. One of my new palm trees is getting all brown. we have been watering it, but it may be too late to save it. we need more rain. I dont want a $300 water bill to save me new trees either. So send some rain our way!!

All the pictures are great so far, keep'em coming. :woohoo:

Runa, I had to have help with my pictures, I am not good at computer stuff. But I used photobucket site. we downloaded our pictures that site from our computer and then from there you can post them on the thread.
Hopefully someone here can help you. If not put a post for it on the forum page and someone will post and help you. That is how i got started. but then had to have DS help me.

Hope everyone is having a good week.

Hopefully this will help Bill get his daily fix!!

I have GOT to go to the eye doctor. I keep seeing these dancing yellow things on my computer screen! Why do you people encourage him? ;)

Middle of the week. Last week the third day of work was the last. Why can't it be that way this week?

Well, we are back in the mid 90s here in Georgia with high humidity. It is so hot that when it is time for the dogs to go to the bathroom, they give me this look of "You want ME to go out THERE?" Did you folks know that we actually have "SMOG Season" in Georgia? It runs from May 1 to the end of August or September. That just stinks (literally)! So, no riding the motorcycle, no outdoor activities, no fun! Maybe I will take the time and start working on my door signs.

Have a MAGICal day everyone!

The reason I ask is I'm a designer and signmaker by trade and I have a pretty significant arsenal of equipment to work with so I'd like to get busy...

Someone point me in the right direction---I hear everyone talking about them and I wanna hop on the band wagon....

Thanks...and happy Wednesday, everyone!~

Okay Mutt, you need to check out some of the examples in this thread:

Door Signs (http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=838817)

Basically, door signs are magnetic paper (in most cases) on which people print Disney clip-art or pictures and cute little sayings. Some do 1 sign for the whole cruise, some will do a sign for every day! It is just a way to personalize the cabin a little more, and it does help recognize your door in a long stretch of similar looking doors!

favoriteslave
07-12-2006, 01:36 PM
I haven't done door signs either. (Something else for me to obsess over). I did put up a Castaway Cay magnet on the door last year, got stolen the first night. So take in what you don't want to loose.

Happy Wednesday, it is Wednesday isn't it?

Thanks Bob....what would I do without ya....Off to Illustrator!!!

TiggerKing
07-12-2006, 02:25 PM
Tonya brought up a good point. Some people have had their signs disappear on them! The way that some have countered this is to personalize the sign by either putting the cabin number, your names (first, last or both), DIS names and hometown. It appears to primarily be the generic ones that get stolen.

I'll be interested to see what you come up with, Mutt. I am sure there will be at least one with a Dancing Banana icon on it. Though, of course it will be in limbo! :rotfl:

Anybody got any plans this weekend??? :confused3

We know Lynn is going :car: shopping for cruise clothes, how about the rest of you??
I tried looking for some clothes 2 days ago and found ZIP!! So wont look again for a few days. But I need some sooner due to August cruise. You would think that in Florida in the heat of the summer, that cool blouses wouldnt be a problem.
I also need drapes for the sliding door and family room, which need to co-ordinate as they are open together, so both can be seen at once.

We still hope to go to MK to see the new pirates ride and gift shop. I guess they didnt really change a lot of it, just added a few pirates and cleaned up the rest, all new clothes on all of them. DS said Capt. jack Sparrow is awesome looking, and Barbosa was very good too, but Davy Jones isnt very good. So I hope to see for myself soon. I'll let you know what has changed when I get back.

Wow! I had to read several pages of posts to get caught up! Hope everyone is enjoying their summer. I am so looking forward to our next summer holiday, as it'll bring us closer to 11/25.

I just made dinner reservations at the new restaurant at SSR for the night before the cruise. I read a dinner report on the dining board and decided to keep it simple and have dinner Friday evening where we are staying.

Lynn: Your baby is so cute! I loved looking at the pics. I have been frequently visiting our newest grandchild - Samantha. I'll be helping my DD next week with Samantha and 2 year old Sean.

Door signs -- you won't see any decorative door at our stateroom. Even if a book was published called Door Signs for Dummies, I would not be able to follow the directions.

Hopefully, I will post a pic of DH and I. That will be a challenge for me to get it posted.

It is hot, humid and soon to be stormy in mid-Michigan. DH is at a Detroit Tigers game tonight. Can't believe our Tigers are #1 in the league.

Hello everyone! Happy Weekend!

No big plans for us this weekend -- graduation party #2 tomorrow for our niece who graduated from Northwestern University in June. :dance3:

Maybe we'll go bowling, too! :confused3 We bowled last Saturday for the second time in the past 15 months and we were ALL horrible! Perhaps we should've had the beer AFTER we were done! :rotfl: :rotfl:

Denise is right -- gonna be a hot weekend here in IL! DH is out watering the lawn because we didn't get much of the rain that came though earlier today.

Shell - love the DB's!!!

Keep the great pictures coming!

Well, have a great evening!

Hi Happy Friday,
DS is spending the night at grandma's so it gave me some time to do some shopping. I had picked up cruise clothes and had a blonde moment I was buying all sunny outfits and not realizing that I amy need a warm thing or two for our alaska cruise next week. Good Morning everyone,

Wendy, please give us a trip report for your Alaskan cruise. My friend has done 2 of them and absolutely loved it!! :cloud9: She advises staying out on deck as much as possible for the best chance to see whales. We have talked of doing an Alaskan cruise in a few years. I an anxious to hear all about it!!!

Cheri, you and I would be good bowling partners. I havnt gone in about 4 years now. But I did see a bowling alley not too far from me that I may check out sometime. Even my 4 year old GS could beat me, without the bumpers up even!! :confused3 I use to bowl with youngest DS but he is grown and working so no time to bowl. He always whooped me!! He bowled leagues since he was 7 and has boxes of trophy's and awards. Mostly first place!!
If I get close to 100 :rolleyes1 I feel I have had a great game.

Well it will be 95 + humidity here today :sunny:

I'm workin on our door signs, btw...:artist: as soon as I get the first one done, I'll post it and have you nice folks do the critique--be nice, I'm just a mutt, y'know.

The obsession is spreading! Here is our refrigerator. I drew the DB in the middle a few days ago to greet Bill when he got home from work one day. My niece saw it and said, "Aunt Shell, why did you draw a banana on your fridge?" I said, "Just for fun", so she and her brother (ages 7 and 9) added their versions on the left and right. :rotfl2:

:sunny: :sunny: Good Sunday morning fellow cruisers:

I have a transport question. I have heard some really good things about
FL Tours...(which I have been doing my "homework" and internet checking) I called them Friday evening to book with them for our party of 13. I just did not really like him. When I told him what time I wanted to be at port, and what time we would like to be picked up. He would not listen to me. He kept saying that we could not get into the gate before 11am. He wanted to pick us up at 11 or after. I did talk him into picking us up at 10, but still was not happy. Then what the prices were on the internet, he quoted me 60.00 more. I mentioned that I checked on the net and he said that they charge per person in the van??? So I called Happy Limo, they seemed more accomadating and flexable to work with. Plus they were about 70.00 cheaper.
And they had a van that would fit all of us into plus our luggage.
Now my question...I have heard some not real good reviews about Happy Limo, has anyone had a bad experience? I actually spoke with my neighbor and they used them (happy) about a year ago, and had a very positve expierence plus were surprised when then got picked up to go back to MCO they used their streched hummer and did not charge them extra for that.
Just curious.......

we just got back from MK. It was so hot!!!! :sunny: We did get to see how they changed the pirates ride. It was very good. Capt. Sparrow looked so real it was spooky!!! :scared1:
Then we met our oldest son and had lunch and went to see the new Pirate movie. :woohoo: It was quite good. The special effects were AWESOME!! No details from me. I dont want to spoil it for those who havnt seen it yet.
We got home just in time to see the Wonder pull out on the 2 palms web cam, so it was a very good day.

We used FL Tours a couple of years ago, and Probably would not use them again. I found the guy that answered the phone to be somewhat uncooperative. He gave me the same spiel about the arrival time at the port, but I told him that I really wanted to get picked up when I wanted to get picked up. He agreed (but the driver was almost a half hour late picking us up, so he "won" in the long run)
I have not used happy limo, but did use tiffany town car in 2003 with no complaints.

We have used FL Tours a number of times with no problem. I have heard from others that the gentleman on the phone can be rather abrupt (we've always booked online). I have not heard bad things about Happy Limo either (and I think Barb (of Barb and Tony fame) recommends Happy Limo. If you have a Passporter, I think they use Tiffany and have a coupon in the back of the Passporter. I think you should just go with whoever you are more comfortable with.

Hope everyone had a great weekend! Mine was FANTASTIC! We had great weather - really hot and humid. I went up to visit a friend's place in the country for a 'girls weekend'. We played bacci, poker (where I won $190 :cool1: ) and went swimming in an old quarry. It was so great to just relax and have a little 'me' time!

My home computer has been offline since Friday so I havn't been able to check in. Sounds like everyone is good (and hot!). DH took the CPU in to work today so hopefully he can get it to a computer place to take a look at it. Unfortuntely for me I got a Ding! letting me know SWA was open until Dec and then the stupid computer broke - so when I went in this morning all of the 'cheap' flights were unavailable. But, I am not panicing (yet) as we still have some time and hopefully they will open up as we get closer. I have been spoiled with SWA fares in the past so have a certain expectation. Paying over $79 one way is hard for me now LOL.

As far as the cruise I have done nothing  . We got our package in the mail and I knew more than was in there from the boards - which I suppose is a good thing. Dh thinks I'm crazy, but I'd rather be prepared!

I think I mentioned this earlier, but will ask it again - Has anyone thought abotu their excursions yet? What about dining rotation?

We are planning on doing Lotterie Farm in St Maarten and Coral World/Coki Beach in St Thomas. I am planning on going it on our own for both. That's about it for us for excursions. We will likely just walk around if we have time in both Ports. As far as CC I think we will just play it by ear. I am trying to plan out our rotation vs. Palo bookings etc. If we all link together for late seating does anyone have a guess for our rotation? I would like to try and plan Palo not to miss anything in the dining rooms. The only other 'ressie' type thing I am looking at is a Spa Villa on one of our sea days. We have a shipboard credit from booking on board last time so I can 'kinda' swallow the cost of the Spa Villa. People have had great reviews of it so I am hoping we really love it.

Hope everyone is doing well and as excited as me!!!!!!!!

PS - I don' have the babana on my 'main' smilie page??? Have we been banned?????

If Ron is able to work his "Magic" through his connections, our rotation will be PLA. This will put is in Luiere's for Formal Night (Sunday) and in Parrot's Cay for Pirate Night (Tuesday). I think that Thursday is Semi-Formal (Lobster) night. Hope that helps!

As far as excursions go, DW and I have only talked about one and that is one of the Sail & Snorkel excursions on St. Thomas. Ron has a recommendation for that (Golden Eagle I believe) and that is the one we will be booking. On St. Maarten, not sure what we are going to do just yet. I really want to do a beach, but I also want to make it to the French side briefly to look around.

Hope everyone is having a great Monday!

Good Monday morning, everyone! :)

Bill and I sat down yesterday and made detailed notes of what the schedule is for the entire cruise and what we want to do on which day. Went thru each Navigator we have, plus our DCL info and our Passporter. At this point, we have St. Maarten's down, and considering the Coki Beach/Coral World at St. Thomas. However, I've just spent the past -- HOUR! (yes Bob, I don't have any "work" to do :rolleyes1 ) -- reviewing some other options on St. Thomas. There are a couple of tours that are very highly recommended by others ... a couple of locals named Godfrey and Sunny Liston. I've been looking at their sights and apparently they give really great full-service tours that include shopping, island tour, and beach time at any of the beaches, plus get you back to the ship. Apparently, both Godfrey and Sunny are quite the characters and the tours are fun and interactive. So I'm still investigating those.

Dutchsmommy – (You may already know this from the Passporter, but) You don’t want to book Palo the first three nights. When you get to Animator’s the first time they do a show, the second time you go they don’t. You don’t want Dutch to miss out on Sorcerer Mickey.

We have decided to do lunch at Palo. My son really enjoys eating in the Dinning Rooms with us, so if he wants to actually spend time with us boring grown-ups I will let him. He usually spends all day in the pool anyway.

Excursions – in St. Maarten we are hopefully going to go on the Golden Eagle Catamaran at 7:45 a.m. Which will leave us time to look around both sides of the island before we have to get on the boat.

In St. Thomas it is between Maagens Bay Beach Break (probably on our own, I have heard great things about this beach) or Doubloon Sail & Snorkel (we love pirates).

Anywho, I hope everyone has a great Monday.

PLA is the rotation of choice on this sailing......once we see how many I'll make a call to my "girlfriend". There is power in numbers.....and yes we DID do the Golden eagle in 03 and loved it. I believe we did the early sailing around 10 a.m. then went walking around by the shopping district.....only bad thing about the Golden Eagle thru DCL.....yes, beer and rum punch IS included.....but, only after you stop at the island!!!! Bummer :sad2: Of all the sailings the girls liked that excursion the best.....the front of the boats are mesh like a prampoline and the water splashes up and thru.....there second favorite was the catamaran beach party at GC on the Western in 04...

Cheri: Those of us who are doing late dining are going to try and link our reservations. What this means is that we will be seated together as much as possible, depending on group size, and that we will have the same dining rotation. Lampskies is going to use his charm to try and get us PLA rotation so that we will be in Lumiere's for Formal Night and Pirate's Cay for Pirate night.

Since Ron can't make the call until late October (I think that is right), it isn't critical that you commit yet. You may want to watch a little more and see if you REALLY want to dine with this group for 7 nights! ;)

Hello Everyone,

Gosh....I've been away from the boards for awhile, I need to catch up. This summer is so hectic between work, BBQs, yard work, birthday parties it's crazy!!! Hope everyone is staying cool. It's a sunny & Humid 94 on Long island. Andy & I feel so much better about the cruise since we were able to secure our air reservations last week since Southwest finally opened their bookings through Dec. 10th. We had free roundtrip tics to use and unfortunately we couldn't get the early flight we wanted so we'll be landing in Orlando 6:30pm on the 24th.....no visit to Kennedy Space Center :guilty: We'll just have to catch that next time.

I have to have Andy post a pic of us (since I'm a little challenged when it comes to that stuff). It's so nice to see all of your pics and to put names with faces.

WEll, I wrote a long winded reply and got thrown off line and lost it, so i'll try again tomorrow.

in short - early seating, yes, willing to link (there's just us two, dh & I). hoping for the latest early seating if it's still 'interval' seating. PLA would be great but as long as we get fed, we'll survive.

no excursions chosen yet - i'm some what mobility impaired. We took a taxi to the beach in Cozumel, and I rode the local bus around the island in Grand Cayman. Wonder if it's possible to do something similar on the Eastern?

Wendy: Have a great trip. Looking forward to your report when you return!
Linda: From what I saw on the excursions listing, there are van tours on both St. Maarten and St. Thomas, so you should be able to head out and see plenty of the islands, and get in some great shopping. In addition, there is a "mall" right beside the docks in St. Thomas, and the tram to Paradise Point is very close by as well.

Well, headed to the upper 90s again here today with heat index above 100. I'm really looking forward to fall! (Dangit, there it goes again)

My babysitter was on that Princess ship the week before and they had left NY late. They were told that they received "bad fuel" or at least that is what they told the passengers. Maybe that was a precurser to the problem. We had really nasty storms last night and the temperature has dropped 10 degrees thank god!

Happy Thursday everyone!

Good morning, everyone:http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i2/woogal/nanerwizard.gif

Miserably hot here again today ... near 90. But oddly the predicted high for Saturday is 71. Welcome to Ohio! :guilty:

Wendy: Have a great trip! Can't wait to hear about it!
Lynn: That first pic of DS with his teddy was TOO cute!
Kathy: Any Minnie updates? How's she doing?

It would seem that the nanas are taking over some of your lives! Step AWAY from the bananas!http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i2/woogal/nanerscared.gif

For those who have been to St. Thomas and St. Maarten, are there scooter rentals on either island?

I would have had a MAJOR heart attack if I was on that ship. It is a bit of a hidden phobia of mine to be trapped like that - or trapped in a car if it rolls into a pond etc etc. The stuff gives me nightmares. So, that would have been a horrible for me (as I am sure it was for those on board). I wonder if it actual gets leaning far enough whether it could roll?? I suppose so - it must be pretty top heavy?? Anyway, glad to hear most people were OK.

Hope all is well with everyone. Things are really busy at work and I am really looking forward to a vacation. DH is working all hours as there is a big car show this weekend that he is getting ready for....I havn't really seen him since before the weekend! Oh well, hoping for some together time soon!

Talk to you all soon. popcorn::

Howdy Turkeys!

OHMIGOSH - It's been way too long since I've checked the posts. I had to go back to page 72 to catch up. A big commitment of 1 1/2 hours. (I have dial up!)

But, welcome to our new Turkeys. Runa and PGFour. If you feel comfortable, I am keeping a spreadsheet with everyone's cabin numbers, real names, hometowns, kids' ages, neato facts...that kind of stuff. You can send me a PM if you'd like to be included.

So much in the last 20 page. Cute baby pictures, Coconuts(?), Lots of bananas      , a new doggie, I can't remember it all but glad to see everyone is doing well and counting down the days.

We were able to book our flight out on SW but I was really disappointed with the fare. $133 one way! I'm not sure if it's because it's the day after Thanksgiving, gas prices, or they're waiting to release the cheap dates. Anywho...I booked our tix and if the price drops, I'll take the credit and go visit one of my girlfriends for a ladies' weekend.

I think we're going to book our room at the new Residence Inn for the night before. I just need to figure out if we want to spend our Marriott Rewards on that or save them. Anyone else there besides Andy/Dandy?

SO excited to get our packet. Now, if I can get a chance to go through everything. I'm not sure what we're doing for excursions - need to figure that out.

Would LOVE to link ressies with the late diners.

Hope I can check in more often. We're starting to get very excited!

Stay cool!

Shell,
We have been on the Eastern three times before and I dont recall seeing scooter rentals. But who knows, I may of missed them :confused3 or perhaps they have them now. :goodvibes

Minnie has taken over the house. She makes her nightly rounds to check that everyone is in their beds, and when they are not she paces until they are where they are suppose to be. Our son often works late and gets home around 1:00 a.m.. She is an unhappy puppy on those days!! It is the same in the mornings. Once DH gets up at 5 a.m. everyone is suppose to get up!!
Plus we have found out she loves plain spaghetti noodles, bananas, watermelon and cherries once the pitts are removed. What a crazy doggie!!!

She did get scolded good the other day when I caught her chewing up a magazine in the loft!! She is very good at looking innocent :cloud9: when she is guilty. :rolleyes1
She is spoiled rotton already!!!
Have a great evening everyone,

Lynn, the baby is soooo cute.
Kathy: Jack, my dog loves spaghetti noodles too. Of course he will eat pretty much anything that were eating. And he also loves bananas   ....
Booked our transportation today. And I'm thinking of just paying off the darn trip in a week or two. :dance3: I want to feel like I have everything under control... which I'm sure I dont.

Woogal: We used Sunny Liston last September when we cruised to St. Thomas on the Magic. He is great! We have him booked for our visit in late November. Our cruising friends, Bob and Gitta, have never cruised and never been to St. Thomas. Sunny's day long tour will be a great way for them to see the island.

Fourfoxesinpa: We booked Air Tran out of Flint, MI. Leaving Friday after Thanksgiving and returning December 2. We got a rate of $228 RT. We booked in either Feb. or March. I check fares out of curiousity, and so far, there are no bargains if flying out of Flint or Detroit.

Have a great weekend everyone. Dave and I are heading to Mackinac Island for a little R&R.

Hi everyone....hope you're all doin well and standing up to the summer heat and the long (but well-worth-it) wait.

Bob...'preciate the ceremonial banana at the end of your post (think I didn't see that, eh???).

Wendy....have a great trip, if I didn't say so already----

Sarah...to answer your ??? Modern ships, even with malfunctioning stabilizers, according to several tech articles are virtually incapable of listing to the point of rolling. They're designed low and wide to prevent that sort of thing. No worries...

Anyhoo....enjoy the evening, everyone!

Hello everyone! It's "hump day"!!! :cool1:

Jamie, I'll get a PM to you sometime with the specifics of our family.

Wendy -- have a wonderful trip -- let us know details!

Kathy -- glad to hear Minnie is taking over!

Not much going on here -- we got a new air conditioner installed in our office. :thumbsup2 Doesn't take much to excite us insurance people these days!!!! :rotfl2:

Speaking of airfare, I can't even remember what our fare from Chicago is -- I have made it a point NOT to re-check it so I don't feel like I got a bad deal. We wanted to go out of Milwaukee for the convenience, but Midwest Express (who supposedly had great fares) had blocked out those dates for about a week. I had been watching prices out of O'Hare going up all week and finally just decided to get it over with! Plus, if there are weather issues, we have more opportunities to catch another flight. (Milwaukee is pretty limited.)

Who needs Vegas when you can gamble on flight & cruise prices???? :rotfl: :rotfl:

Sure glad I wasn't on that cruise -- what a frightening experience it must've been. Hope everyone mends quickly. My SIL was on an Alaskan cruise a couple years ago and they had to make a "sharp" turn and a lot of the dishes, etc. went crashing -- don't think there were many injuries. Sorry Wendy, I suppose you didn't want to hear that. . .

Have a great night!

May your dreams be filled with      !

:rolleyes1 Ok this is our first cruise. So we are both really excited.

DH works in the City of Chicago. We live about 50 miles SW of Chicago. He starts work at 6am. Takes the train. So he is up at 2am. Goes to bed between 6:30-7pm. :cheer2: (shhh dont tell him I was cheering about that)....So Monday evening I worked the later shift at work. Got home around 8:30pm. As I'm pulling into the garage, he comes out and greets me.
Ummm what are you doing up? I am watching Titanic. (this from a man who would not watch this movie, did not want any part of this movie.) Ummm ok, why? :confused3 I felt like watching it. Is this because were going on a cruise? Yes!
Ok, there are times I worry about him. Now all he has been talking about this evening is about the Carnival cruise ship. He worries that this will happen to us. Of course he was also worried we were going to hit an iceberg. :rotfl: :rotfl2:

Good Thursday Morning To You All,
Shell- I think you can rent scooters in St. Maarten right when you get off the ship.
Kathy- Sounds like Minnie took over the house :thumbsup2 !!! My Mom's dog Rocky runs her house and eats anything he finds!! Sunday Morning he has Eggs and Bacon :dogdance: :dogdance: :dogdance: !!

Last night my friend called me and was soooo upset :sad2: because she was suppose to board the Crown Princess today. She was going on her Honeymoon. I felt so bad for the people on that boat when I was watching the news. How does a cruise line saw the movie Titanic the night before?? That would not be my choice of movies to see while on a cruise!!!

Today I am off to spend the day with my Mom because it is her 50th birthday. We are going to go shopping and buy DS Baptism outfit and then the family is meeting us for dinner. It going to be a nice day for my Mom    !!!

Talk to you all Tomorrow!!

No real news from Florida today. We are like alot fo you, headed for a HOT day. Wish we would get our normal rain. we are 10 inches below normal where I live. I have to water everything all the time. I am dreading our water bill this month!!
Denise,
Tell your DH to stay away from the movies!!! It can be hazardous to his mental health, just before a cruise :rotfl2:
I cant swim, and I am afraid of small boats, so our first cruise my DH and DS gave me a hard time because from the terminal I wasnt sure if the Wonder was big enough for me to go on out in the ocean??? :confused3
But I loved it, and flet perfectly safe, hated the tender boats though.

OK....thats enough!!! My boss's son is going on his first cruise in Feburary (I helped talk him into it). He's scared to death that something horrible is going to happen. Denise, your DH is scared....I hear so many people talking about this. I read a lot about cruises these days and have always been interested in the big liners.

Is there risks? It'd be foolish to say cruising is risk-free... it's foolish to say flying is risk-free. The incidents aboard cruise ships vs. the vast number of voyages taken is insanely low. Ever get a new car? A make and model you never had before? Before you buy the thing, you never noticed them on the road and after the purchase, you see them everywhere. We are linked so completely to cruising, we're hyper-sensitive to cruise news so all the incidents are going to be under OUR microscope. Can't we get back to Lampy's coconut hooter covers, dancing nannys, fluffernutters and Minnie, the spoiled dog? (omg, that sounded like a grown up wrote it....what the heck is wrong with me?).

Anyways...have a great Thursday everyone....les' go cruisin!!!

I have to drive to SE Georgia on Sunday afternoon to be ready to go to my client's office first thing on Monday morning. But, at least I will have the opportunity over the next two weeks to visit with a lot of family that lives in the area!

Just a few more days until the 4 month mark, and only 5 weeks until the repeaters can make reservations (do you guys realize that is on a Sunday?). I have to get that final payment made soon so that I can make those ressies on 8/27!

Morning all - and woo FYI you forgot me too - I am getting a complex :rolleyes1

So..good news for me....I checked with Airmiles again 'just in case' before I booked with SWA and lo-and-behold they actually had availability out of Toronto for our dates. I am officially flying into Orlando Thursday November 23rd arriving at 1:30pm. We fly out on Sat Dec 2nd at 9:40pm (I'm gonna have to find something to do all day Sat - Typhoon Lagoon anyone :teeth: ) and arrive home just past midnight. That leaves us Sunday to recover and we to do laundry ( ) before the dreaded 'W' word on Monday. Butt......let's not think about AFTER the cruise....I am focuses on BEFORE and DURING. pirate: And, the last 3 digits of our ressie code for the flight are 'VMK' so I figure we are doing something right.

I need to book another night at the Residence I suppose - we'll have a bit more time to explore Cocoa Beach and surrounding area. Should be fun! I wonder if we'll be able to find somewhere to eat Thurs night as it is your Thanksgiving - Chinese food anyone LOL.

Not too much else new here - I am just glad my plans are taking shape - I love it when things are tied up. Needing the flight, hotel etc makes me a bit nervous so I am happy now. I just have to figure out a rental car and make that ressie for the Thurs night. Other than that I think I am good to go. We managed to pay off our balance so I am just counting down the days to ressie booking time - Spa Villa here we come!!!!!!!!!!
