Good Evening All    ,
Pat: Drew have 2 small suitcases. One is all the formula, diaper, baby food, and stuff like that and the other one is all his little clothes. The baby food that I use for Drew is Gerber Stage # 1 and it comes in 2 packs so that saved us on room and they are also plastic so I don't have to worry about them breaking :teeth: :teeth: :teeth: !!! Are you packing baby food for Laura??
Esther and Stephen are packing baby food for Laura. She is on stage 2. That stage comes in jars! They were wondering how to pack 7 days worth without them breaking! :scared: We did discuss bubble wrap.

I am soooooo nervous !!!!Should I call the doctor??

Pat, besides bubblewrap make sure it is in a carry on bag. The checked luggage gets banged around pretty good sometimes. I have stood on my balcony and watched bags fall off the carrier box on the fork lift about 12 feet to the ground a few times when they were packed too high.

Not sure if anyone has any idea about this - and I did post on the main forum but....
Dh informs me (just now!!!!!!!!!!!!) that he CANNOT go 7 days without e-mail from work. So....does anyone know if a crackberry (Blackberry) will work onboard? What if we buy the wireless package? Any other options you can think of? He just needs to send and receive e-mail.
Thanks!
Sarah, if he can access his Blackberry server through a normal wireless network, that would work. The wireless package is expensive, though. There is no unlimited version. But, if I recall correctly, most Blackberries work through a cellular network. If that is the case, he will only have access to it on Tuesday and Wednesday. He needs to check with his IT dept. about the wireless deal.
Of course, the other option is to use the internet cafe. He cannot download or upload files, but if his company has a web portal for e-mail, he can at least send and receive messages.
Now, for the most important part: Do you want me to work him over Friday night about reminding him that this is a FAMILY vacation, and work can survive without him? Tell him to give them the emergency ship number and they can pay the $6.95 per minute to talk to him if it is that important. You would be AMAZED at how many things can wait until you return when you tell them the cost of a phone call! :lmao:

Safe trip to everyone heading out, I can't wait to meet all of you guys!
Lynn:: I caved, I registered Madison for the nursery for 2 hours (1 hour on Thrs. and 1 hour on Friday). When will Drew be there?
I have to repack b/c the luggage is over 50 lbs, but it's crazy, the luggage itself must be like 15 pounds itself! I have to repack everything and distribute them evenly in other luggages so I won't have to pay the over weight charge. :confused3 And the pack rat that I am, I'm having trouble with it.
Ok, have a great night everyone!!!
Queenie,
Yes Drew is registered for nursery. He is going on Tuesday while we are at Palo's and Thursday while we are brunch at Palo's.

KATHY - Me and Don had our Honeymoon in Disneyworld. While we were there it snowed in Jacksonville and they also had to cancel the Polynesian Luau due to cold weather!!!

QUICK! Somebody Post Before Kathy Beats Us Up!
Does anybody know that number of the ship?? I want to give it to my mom.
Lynn - It's 1-888-DC-ATSEA. It costs $6.95 per minute and if your mom calls you they will ask for a credit card before connecting. We called out from the ship one time because we had problems getting in touch with MIL while in Key West and had no choice, talked for less than a minute. And we didn't get charged! :-) Not sure how that happened but we figure pixie dust.
So for those of you still following the continuing saga of my poor sickie DD Emily, she's on her way to the doctor's now. Mostly as a precaution that there isn't an ear infection brewing since she has had more than a few of those over her short little lifetime so far. We should almost always just schedule a Doc's appointment the week before flying because it never fails that she doesn't develop "something" that looks like it might be an ear infection, cough, bronchitis or some such thing everytime we go away. So, fingers crossed and pixie dust that all is well. We're getting used to this after having our first DD NEVER get sick (still doesn't). It's amazing how different 2 kids can be. And first DD went to daycare full time from 6 months to four years and she was never sick. This DD goes part time - 2 or 3 days a week at the most and she started later. Go figure.
Bob - love the door sign. Mine isn't so creative. Just clip art of our favorite disney characters. But both DD's drew their own and they are precious.

So the continuing saga of Miss Emily is that yes, indeed she does have yet another ear infection *sigh* but the good news part of that is that the drugs will fix it pretty quickly maybe even before we fly but likely before we are boarding the ship. She needs some good sea air, some play time in Flounders and a more relaxed mommy, daddy and big sister. Hey - the cruise will cure all of that! :goodvibes

Hi Snoopy Mom! :wave2:
Jeff -- I went back into my old subscribed threads -- it sounds like you tell the concierge at the Hyatt that you're taking the DCL bus in the morning, and they'll get you on the list. Then in the morning, one member of the family goes down to get the actual pass/time. Luggage is placed outside the room door around 8:00-8:30 and they load it for you.
It sounds like we do this when we check in. But maybe a call to the concierge is in order ahead of time? :confused3 Let me know if you call, and what they say. Otherwise, I'll try calling later today or early tomorrow.

My nephew (my sister's oldest) got home last night from college (he goes to Wesleyan in CT) with his new girlfriend, who we call Columbia (I have no idea yet what her name is). This will be girlfriend number 2 from South America. He refuses to date American girls, says they're all "ugly" ("except for you, Aunt Shell" :teeth: ). So we're meeting my sister and her family plus Columbia tonight for dinner at a great local italian restaurant, the kind of place where you know it's family owned and authentic. I'm thinking veal and oil & garlic pasta are calling my name ....

I just did a search myself and found a few threads that indicated just this. It doesn't seem like an advance call is necessary - that you'd just do it when you check in -- so I don't plan on doing so. If you do, let me know what you find out.
Ok I think I better get to work now. I want to get some things done so I dont' have to work too much on the ship. Sarah- I wanted to tell you that I used my laptop and wireless on the last cruise I was on and it worked flawlessly. I bought a package and the minutes added up fast, so just tell your DH to be careful about his time online. Do things offline and then cut and paste into emails to save a few bucks and not worry about counting the minutes. I made the mistake of not doing that and ended up having to buy a second package of minutes!

We may buy the unlimited package (unless the cost is completely outrageous) so we can check our work emails. Hate to do it, but both of our assistants are a bit green and I don't want to come back to nightmares.
Speaking of such -- better get back at it and put out any fires!

Cheri
Jeff: I was at the MCO Hyatt last year and told the person who checked us in that we were taking DCL transporation. I was given info at that time.

:goodvibes
More pixie dust coming your way pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:
I just picked up the "just in case" prescription that the Dr. called in on Monday. He said not to use it unless John's ears get messed up on the plane because of his congestion. The "just in case" cost $60!!!!!! Oh well...I still hope we don't have to use it.

Lorna - thanks for the kind thoughts. We are getting immune to this stuff (even though Emmy isn't) If it's Wednesday, it must be an ear infection. Even she doesnt' even really complain about it much - says it feels "funny."
But on to your dolphin question. On our Aug. 12 cruise we were sitting in Topsiders having breakfast when someone shouted to look outside. We were right at the window and saw a BUNCH of dolphins (a pod?) swimming alongside the ship, jumping in and out of the water...just like the movies. It was so much fun. I don't remember where we were but I'm thinking it was a day at sea between Cozumel and Castaway Cay.

Called Hyatt and what they told me is that we need to check in at quarter past 8 on Saturday morning to get on the 1st bus out to the port. Our luggage has to be put outside the room and they will get it on the DCL bus. Hope this helps.
Hey Lynn! THANKS for checking this out for us!!!! :cool1: :cool1: One less thing to worry about!

Howdy all,
Lorna, since you mentioned Planet Hollywood, I am assuming you are thinking about eating at downtown Disney. Rainforest cafe is there too with pretty good food. If you like seafood and dont mind paying a little more Fultons Crab House or Captain Jacks are both there with excellant food.
My husband likes a small place called Bongos with cuban style food on the west side of downtown disney.
Wolfgang Puck also has a place on the west side, but have never eaten
there.
Chef Mickey's is a very good character dinner at the Contemporary resort too.
I am afraid WDW is very busy around Thanksgiving and reservations are very hard to get sometimes, Good luck!!

Hi: Just read on the main DCL board that a cruiser sailing on the 12/3 Wonder got an upgrade today. They were in a Cat.6 and got upgraded to a Cat. 3. I can't believe DCL is not giving complementary upgrades on our cruise. Can't believe they'd skip over us DISers!!! Although, first cruise we were on, a 3 day land, 4 day Magic, we got a complementary upgrade to the Polynesian. Nice.
Busy prepping for tomorrow's lunch.
Have a safe trip/flight for all of you leaving tonight and tomorrow.

Hello Friends, and Welcome to those joining us!
What a day from heck!!! Yesterday was so slow at work and today it was just CRAZY. Anyway, at least it is over now. I have been going like crazy since I got home (and just spent 20 mins reading the 5 pages from this morning!!!). I think we are *almost* all packed. DH just needs to check if we have all his clothes, and then we need to pack up toiletries etc. We have 1 big suitcase, 1 medium, 2 garment bags, a carry on suitcase, a carry on computer bag (DH is bringing the laptop) and Dutch's carseat. We are a porters wet dream :teeth: .
I still have to do Dutch's pillowcase tonight, but I feel like an expert now ;) so I don't think it will take long. The towncar is picking us up tomorrow morning at 7am and we'll be at the Residence Inn by hopefully 2 or 3pm.
My goodness-forsaken %^^&*$ pirate costume is a final no-show :guilty: which is a total bummer as Stony has his and Dutch is all set too. I left the lady one last nasty e-mail telling her where we are staying in Cocoa Beach (she is in St Petersburgh). I am hoping she overnights something, but am not holding my breath. Once I get back I will demand a refund. What a pain in the rump!!!
Anyway - this will likely be my last post. Can't wait to meet all the   and I hope you all have a fabulous Turkey Day!!!

I must admit i am amazed at how many posts we managed to do today.
Now if we can manage 96 more tomarrow maybe a couple early friday we may make it ok.
But dont relax yet!!!
I know a lot of you will still be on line through tomarrow and I expect to hear from each and everyone of you a few times. Not during your wonderful family meals, but when you get up and perhaps after you get home or your company leaves you can check in and just before bed. With all of that we may make it.
If your not sure what to say, just post what you had for dinner and dessert!!!
Night all

Wow!! You're good! You are correct -- we were in Wailea - somewhere between The Four Seasons and the Marriott (which had a great happy hour!!!). Picture was taken in May of this year. :thumbsup2
It's my favorite place on earth. We have stayed at the Four Seasons and at the Hyatt Kaanapali as well as the (now somewhat down in the mouth) Royal Lahaina. Went there for our honeymoon and can't get enough even with the LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG plane ride. It's worth it.

The weather is getting alittle warmer here today. They are still predicting 77 for saturday afternoon with 20% chance of rain. That's not too bad. Usually we dont get any rain at 20%. So hopefully we will still have the sail away party outside!!!!
Anybody watch the parade today???
I like the floats and bands but I hate the first hour of dancers and singers. To me that is not what a parade is about with broadway style dancing.
For me a parade should be floats, marching bands, balloons, clowns and such.

She's bouncing on the bed, off the walls, and everywhere else with excitement. My other children are a little more sedate, but not much.
Well, this is my last post before sailing. We leave in 2 hours for the airport; our flight to Orlando is in 5.5 hours. We will see all you nice people on Sat. You will recognize the group I'm with by our bright baby blue tees with Gold Family Reunion on the back.

Bill, remember, if you use too small a rock she will feel the pain. So, be humane and go to the next larger size than you think you will need! :lmao:
I'd expect that kind of comment from the likes of you! :rolleyes2

Lynn,
That's great the Drew crawled, it will just seem like a few days and he will be running around the house. Of course first he will start pulling himself up to a standing position and then falling down and getting black and blue marks everywhere.
Rick it sounds like it is a good thing you are cooking today. Do the kids help?? Or is it better that only you cook :lmao:
I am waiting to see the parade too. Greg is even taking Minnie for a walk so I wont miss it. I sure hope the balloons are ok to fly. It wont seem the same without them.

For those of you on the edge of your seat for the Emily report..she slept through the night last night., Antibiotics working already. Still has a little cough but nothing that will keep us off the ship - it's just the whole ear infection thing/drainage. By tomorrow (we fly mid day tomorrow) she should be fine. :cool1:

Jessalyn always knew which remote was the "real" one and she never wanted the others we would actually let her play with! I guess kids have that sixth sense that says, "If they want me to play with it, it must not be any good!" :rotfl: :rotfl:

Mornin everyone....Happy Thanksgiving!
Has anyone ever had one of those "fidgity" kids that just sits and bounces around before a vacation. I have one of those, now. I'm hoping the triptophan in the turkey will sedate her until we leave tomorrow morning. If not, I may have to rock her to sleep...(oh, stop worrying, I'll use a little rock).
Again to all of our new friends and extended families-----
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!! We all have a lot to be thankful for....

I'm off to put up Christmas lights. It's way too nice here today to miss the opportunity no matter how early it is. If I don't do it, I'm sure when I return from the cruise it will be snowing..so outside I go to Christmasfy our house (no we're not the Griswolds) :) - MY favorite Christmas movie next to It's a Wonderful Life.

This is a 3-layer french vanilla cake with pumpkin mousse in between the layers. Surrounding it are white and milk chocolate molded cups filled with pumpkin mousse. The stem is carved from combined milk and white chocolates and air-brushed with food coloring. Not too shabby, huh? Think maybe we might have a winning business here? :cool1:

HEY OKIE! I'm here...this is probably the last post I'll do before tomorrow. We are also leaving tomorrow morning at 6:45 and will pass Boomers around 7! Headed to Renaissance so tomorrow night, we'll be looking for Dissers.
The past couple of times we've flown the kids really complained about their ears hurting. So, I bought some of the earplanes to see if they help. If any little one is battling ear troubles, it may help them. It can be uncomfortable sometimes.
I hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving and safe travels to the Magic. We're looking forward to meeting everyone and spending a wonderful week at sea with all of you. We're off to have our Bird now. Happy trails!
