Jeff: I don't know if I would count that as one of my finer attributes! Also, you and I are going to have to spend some time talking on the cruise. I know it is dangerous to let two consultants talk, but if we can talk work for a brief period, I would like to hear about you going out on your own. I have a client who actually wants he and I to venture out together next year. I promise not to ruin your vacation! :rotfl2:

:rolleyes1

Bob - No worries. I LOVE talking about striking out on my own. And while when i was working for the man, I was loathe to talk business on my own time, now that it's my thing it's a whole different story. That's just a preview of how your life can change if you take this route. :goodvibes

Hey Turkeys! I need your help. :grouphug: We MUST keep my dh away from TiggerKing and Jeff or we will all be subject to hours of conversation on that nasty work stuff!

We aren't getting very decked out for pirate night. DH made some tshirts and we'll have our bandannas. I'll probably grab eyepatches and maybe some big fake earrings at the dollar store and that will be it. On our last cruise, someone ordered a bunch of beads, eyepatches, etc. from Oriental Trading and handed them out. I should look for them..I think they're in the toy room.

Anyone thinking of getting insurance? We did use it when our 1st cruise was interrupted by Hurricane Jeanne but I'm on the fence now that we'll be out of hurricane season.

At home on this lousy, wet, cold day in PA. I have a ton of laundry to do and think I will pack a little more. It helps pass the time until I see Mickey again.

Oh no Jamie, we will find him and draw him into our evil circle! :chat:

As for the insurance, I did buy it a few weeks ago. To be honest, I am not worried about hurricane issues, but I purchase it because of things like car troubles on the way to Orlando, or I do something stupid and hurt myself and then can't make the cruise (this almost happened on our 2004 cruise when I hurt my back the night before we were supposed to leave for Orlando), or some sickness appears that we were not expecting. When I am spending this much money on a trip, a couple hundred dollars seems worth the expenditure, and I pray I never have to use it!

Jamie...we got insurance too. I guess its just too much money for us to have something go wrong. We live in northeast ohio so we're sorely aware of how quickly bad luck can ruin happiness.
Seriously,....I would recommend getting the insurance...its just peace of mind.
That was another installment of...............
Two cents from the mutt

Ditto us on the insurance issue. Hate writing that part of the check, but I just know the first time I don't, one of the kids will get sick, I'll fall off a chair or some such silliness will occur.

Hi Fellow Turkeys and Bananas!

                    (20 - Kathy)

I had some bananas to catch up on...I've been MIA for a few days. Crazy, crazy things going on up here in NJ. We had the wedding over the weekend which was a REALLY good time...spent most of Sat and Sun recovering - YIKES! Mainly from lack of sleep and TOO much dancing

Back into the swing of things now...I need to be at my Jazzercise class every morning this week as one of the other Class Managers is on crutches...plus I threw together a quick surprise birthday celebration for our Instructor/Class Owner....I am having a liquidiation sale at my house on Thurs.-I used to sell Longaberger baskets and I am clearing out my stock...THEN this weekend we are having a garage sale!!! Can you say "BUSY"!!!! Besides all of this there is the usual running the kids around to activities..the book fair this afternoon at DS's school..the meeting last night at DD's school.......

I CAN"T wait to put real life behind me in a few weeks and take in every wonderful second of the Magic.

I too vote for leaving the gift exchange for the 1st day...I think it will just be easier for everyone.

Not sure about the Pirate thing yet...I bought some tatoos for us to wear and DS has a Capt. Hook costume that I'm trying to get him to where..the rest of us will probably do the eye patch/earring thing...I dunno, we'll see.

Ok...I think I'm caught up...oh yeah....that was a VERY impressive win by the Bears...DH just had to tell me about it when he came to bed last night...even though I was basically sleeping .

I'll check in later. Have a great day everyone!

DW and I will be dressing up to some degree. We wanted to go to Party City and look at costumes this past weekend, but that didn't happen. I know we won't make it this weekend due to family reunion, but we will check it out some time before Halloween!

DH and I are dressing up!
His costume is much more elaborate than mine though.
I had a friend make him a costume before our last cruise and she is making him the captains coat to go with it this year.
I have a skirt/top that look kind of pirate-y and I will add some "accessories".
DH had a BLAST last time at the deck party and at dinner. pirate:
(I wore my tropical dress, and felt a little silly next to ultra-pirate boy)

I agree with Jeff's assessment of big business so if he and TiggerKing talk business, I am SO there! We will be leaving the corporate world at the 1st possible moment 500 days, 19 hours and 50 minutes from now! And looking for our next opportunity.

Doubt very much if we'll be dressing like pirates - my shape is way beyond 'wench-like' and dh - uh - let's just say, I don't think so. Does what's his name sparrow have a mother? I could be that, I suppose. lol

DH, DS and I are DEFINATELY dressing up as pirates...in fact I think it will take a suitcase on it's own to fit all our stuff - LOL pirate:

I can't beleive we are just over 1 month - YIKES!!!!!

As for the Insurance - I have coverage through my credit card....pretty good deal as it allows a certain # of trips outside of Canada per year.

I am trying to get my stuff organized for the trip, but likely will still be running around last minute (for DHs stuff I bet!!!!!). I have been on a 2 day Project Mgmt Quality Control course - bit of a yawn....so, we'll have to see how things are backed up at the office when I get back

Hope everyone has a good night.

Helly All Nana Heads!!!

Pirates Night -- Dave, Bob, Gitta and I have Disney POC t-shirts to wear. Probably, we'll wear jeans with the shirts. No pirate dress up for this Nana.

Kathy -- you are :stir: for a good cause! Have you heard from anyone at DCL regarding the deluge of letters they've received?

Kathy -- I did have a great time with my little angels. Just love spending time with them. I'll see my WV angels 2 weeks before we cruise.

Shell -- I owe you a drink. Your team was awesome again last weekend.

Have a great evening. Jan

Jan,
I havnt heard from DCL, however I did hear from friends we have that work for DCL and they told me there was a BUZZ going around the ship about a lot of letters that people had been writing about the entertainment on board.
So at least I know we have their attention. I have people from 4 different cruise boards writing.
I cant believe the awesome people who have responded!!
A lady named Donna wrote me a nice letter. She said she met you and Dave on another cruise. Donna says HI!!!
Over 3000 people have read my post on the dis boards. I had NO idea there were that many people out there!!
I hope things will change for the better, but if not at least I have the satisfaction of knowing I tried and DCL knows how we feel about this!!

I did send them another letter today. If I get a response I will let you know.

They may be afraid to respond to me again, since I posted their last 2 letters and that is what started all the letters coming in!! :rotfl2:

well I am off to finish cleaning up the dinner dishes, then off to bed.
I will check back in the morning. Make that early morning, I cant let Sarah beat me again!! :lmao:

Seriously, I's hate to have all that $$$$ thrown out due to a last-minute family emergency. When you figure the cost of the vacation, the insurance is a small price to pay.

evening all: Wow this has been a busy and long day. I went and got my hair done after work today. So I got home late, now my dog Jack is limping around the house, he is afraid to put any pressure on his one front paw. I dont see anything, nor if your touch or feel his paw, he seems ok :confused3 so not sure what happended.

I'm going to try to see what I remember and want to post now,

No, I am not, nor is Wally dressing up for pirate night. I just dont do "dress up" I was never ever a huge holloween fan. I always found this holiday stressful when my kids were little. I just do not have much artistic talent so they usually got store bought outfits. Not my idea of fun. Sorry......just call me a party pooper!!!!! :teeth: Go ahead, I can handle it.... :goodvibes

We did purchase insurance also. So we should be set on that.

I'm thinking I'll dress up to some degree for Pirate night. DD has an outfit (kinda), and I don't know if DH will want to dress up -- thouogh he's usually a pretty good sport.

Better get going -- how do you think the whole DWtS will pan out now that Sara has left? Will they get rid of someone tomorrow, or will they combine this week with next week?? :confused3 :confused3

Good Morning All     ,
I am here!!! Well last night was another bad night with DS. He was up all night. My neighbor decided to blast music at 10pm and he was up from 10 to about 3am. So you can say we sleep in because we only went to sleep at 3am. Poor DH had 4 hours of sleep and went off to work!! Well I just have to get going with a stop to Dunkin Donuts for a large coffee :coffee: :coffee: !! Okay so I think today I am going :car: to get to the Mall just to get out of the house. I have to get to Babies R Us because I need formula and I want to get something for crib. Like Ocean Sounds or Calm music.
Yesterday, my boss called and me to come back part-time. Well it is one day a week. So DH and I talked about it and it nice extra money!! So I am going to do it. The only catch is that I have to watch my friend's twins on the days she will be going in to school and she is going to watch DS for me. Wow I am going from 1 to 3 childs once a week!! Kathy, I was wondering about Pat and Steve too. HELLLLOOOOOOOOO????

OK, so we're almost at 1 month till the big day. I'm trying to think of everything that needs done in that time frame (besides packing, of course). Here's what I've come up with:
* Spa visit (manicure/pedicure/waxing -- sorry you had to read that last part, Bob)
* Order extra set of contacts for Just In Case
* Get Bill new glasses (he needs them!)
* Get gown altered and dry cleaned
* Haircuts
* Make sure prescriptions are filled
* Lose 10 more lbs
* Have jewelry cleaned
* Get Dad's birthday present

What else do you have on your list that I'm forgetting?

I was VERY disappointed in Jerry's dance. :sad2: Up until now they had kept it simple so Jerry could do the basics well -- this was just horrendous!! Aside from Mario, I think everyone had an off night. :confused3 The fact that I'm actually "worrying" about it is very   !!!!!

I'm still wondering what they'll do with the extra week they'll have now that Sara is gone. (Why didn't she drop out on Monday or Tuesday???) Maybe the top two couples will have an extra week of competition. Shall we place bets?????? :drinking1

80's stuff -- have you noticed that some of the 80's styles are supposedly coming back? Don't think I'll be first in line to stock up. :rolleyes1

Shell -- the list looks good. Can't think of anything else right now, but I'm sure I will once I get going into trip mode.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Poor Jack - hope your paw is better soon. You can't have Mom worrying about you when she's away! :dogdance: :dog: pug: :dog2: :goofy:

So, is anyone watching Project Runway? I'm looking forward to tonight's finale. Got sucked into the Marathon last night and lost 2 hours of my life that I'll never see again! :happytv:

Mmmm....let's see. What must I do before we leave?

Get Insurance
Figure out what I'm going to wear for formal night
Get those toes done
Look for a regional ornament for the exchange
Transfer earned Disney Rewards to our card
Take DH's tux shirt to the dry cleaners
Get DD to asthma/allergist specialist for checkup and inhaler refills and, most importantly,

Buy 3 cans of Aqua Net Maximum Strength for that 80s Big Hair - the silver and purple can. C'mon "80s Ladies" - you know what I mean! (don't have the perm anymore!) Is there ANYTHING better than Aqua Net to get the up in the air bangs? Ahhhh....those were the days.

To all FEMALE Nana Heads:

Glad to know us super wonderful multi tasking female gender people are so into to do lists. Here's mine:

1. Gather misc. stuff for cruise and put in box in bedroom
2. Get out birth certificates
3. Wrap 4yr old GD's birthday gifts
4. Wrap X-mas gifts (I'm done shopping)
5. Put up few Christmas decorations and wall tree (yes, I got a wall tree much to Dave's insistence that we NEED a regular tree. Too bad, Dave). I'll let you know how it looks, will take a picture of it.
6. Hair cut and color on 11/18
7. Print out cruise docs
8. Order water from Staples. Did you see the post on the boards about a lady ordering from Staples to be shipped to a warehouse in Cape Canaveral, free shipping, etc.?
9. Regional gift
10. Get t-shirts hemmed
11. Refill prescriptions
12. Make changes to WDW dinner ressies (11/24)

I'll add nos. 13-50 within the next week.

Kathy - Donna (Ragdoll) and Harry are great people. We keep hoping to cruise together again sometime.

Jan, if you check out the thread Staples Water (http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1253886) you will see that Staples is calling them and saying DCL will not allow them to deliver water to the ship. I guess it infringes on their potential profits from the water packages. pirate: Sorry!

Well, I guess that's one item off my 'to do' list.

1. Decide on contents of gift basket for DH (National Geo had travel 'flippers' and snorkle gear in their catalog. Do I want it?)
2. order said basket.
3. Order stateroom flowers
4. cancel shipboard facial and book one before we go.
5. Try on dressy clothes to make sure they still fit.
6. Buy regional gift.
7. Pack box to ship to resort
8. decide what to take for villa from home (coffee. . .)
9. call credit card company to let them know we're traveling
10. fill out online form to hold mail
11. create packing list
12print Christmas card address labels, mousekeeping envelopes and tip envies.
13 create door sign
14 find santa hats and other seasonal gear for villa/stateroom
15 find shoebag and hooks -

Enjoy the rest of the afternoon.

Actually, I am normally at Wal-Mart or Target on 12/24 to do my shopping, and maybe Hallmark if they have anything I like! :lmao:

Honestly, this is a tradition that I have had for myself for most of my life. I actually enjoy being out amongst the crowds on 12/24. Since I am now married, my Christmas Eve shopping is primarily for stocking stuffers for DW's stocking. I will have already seen them and know what I want to buy, but I wait until then to do it. Of course, part of it may be a guilty pleasure in watching all the people who are shopping for MAJOR gifts on Christmas Eve and seeing the stress on their faces!

Greetings fellow very-organized cruisers!!!

Let's see, here's my initial list:

1. Print last-year's WDW/DCL list and pack
2. Pick up last minute items (more batteries, memory card, disposable camera or two, etc.)
3. Get regional gift.
4. Give parents list of instructions for cats (same as always! :thumbsup2 )
5. Get hair cut & color (must be planned around Chicago-suburb rush hours!!!).
6. Use gift certificate for massage so I can relax BEFORE cruise! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
7. Double check all travel documents to be sure all is ready.
8. Decorate house for Christmas so I don't have to do everything in December.
9. Watch Christmas Story so I can quote fluently to impress Shell
10. Practice 80's hairstyles - especially big bangs and winged sides.
11. Manicure & pedicure

I know there are lots of other things to add, but those are the main things! We go on 2-3 week+ trips a year so I do have some of the drill pretty well organized. The big key is to not procrastinate!!!!!!!

What a blah day. Gray & rainy. Yuk!

I'll try to check in later after DWtS. And then there were four. . .Mario, Joey, Emmett, and Monique. :lmao: Any bets?????

Bob - this is something else that we have in common. I LOVE being out on the last days before Christmas. There is something in the air that just really gets me in the mood. While I have the majority of my shopping done in early December (certainly not in October!) I save some things that I know I can do at the last minute to be out in it. I wouldn't have it any other way.

I have done it so many times I can do it with my eyes closed. :rolleyes1 Just have to remember my gift for the exchange, which I have bought and wrapped already and it is by the carry on bag.

Well Jack's paw is still bothering him. Spoke with the vet's office today. I was worried that we may have to bring him in and have sticthes done, but they said just put peroxide on it and let the air at it. So that's what were doing and hopefully it will be pretty much healed by the time we leave.

Well reading all your lists make me realize I still have tons to do and get togehter. Man, this really came up fast and I dont think I am as prepared as I thought I was :sad2:

Another reminder (a no-brainer for all you experience travelers!) that I had to remind myself: If you're flying, don't pack the wrapped gift in your carry-on bag -- they'll probably make you unwrap it when you go through security. So-- wrap it and put it in your checked luggage, or wait to wrap it AFTER your flight. There are waaaaaaay too many things to remember!

I'm very glad no one took me up on my bet about DWtS! :lmao: Jerry managed to delay the inevitable one more week!!! I was surprised about Joey being in the bottom two. :confused3

Here is the guy's real list:

0800 - Wake Up
0815 - Shower
0830 - Throw toiletries in shaving kit
0845 - Pack week's worth of clothes in one suitcase
0855 - Put travel documents in carry-on bag
0900 - Load car
0900 - 0930 - Sit in car while DW searches house for the one item she didn't get packed in the four suitcases already in the car
1000 - Finally leave house after DW realizes what she is looking for is in her purse.

The sad part is that the items from 0800 - 0900 are basically my schedule every time I travel for work! But, I can knock it down to 30 minutes if really necessary. :rotfl2:

Remember to keep a postive, realistic attitude and HAVE FUN (even if you receive dead crawfish and scrapple for your regional gift :lmao: ). :thumbsup2

Yes, we're on our way to a relaxing week in paradise, but there will be bumps along the way (lines to wait in, occasional rude people to deal with, possible travel delays, lots of loud    , etc!) I've been reading a lot of negative trip reports and it seems like many of the complaints are about "unavoidable" issues (lines, crowds, less than ideal weather, etc.). The men in my house could give you some good tips!!
When things get to where they can stand up on their own, you just buy new stuff, no need to worry about laundry either.
After all this is vacation, right???

Denise, I hope Bob's foot gets better soon. I just got back from getting Minnie's toe nails clipped and filed. She was NOT a happy pup!!!

The 12 year old played by Angus Jones on Two and Half Men made this comment one time when asked about changing his underwear:

Jake: I can get four days out of one pair
Alan: How?
Jake: Easy, frontwards, backwards, inside out frontwards, inside out backwards!

I thought I was going to fall off the couch laughing! :happytv:

5 Weeks from Today...............

We will be flying out of cold cold Toronto down to :sunny: :sunny: Orlando and you all will be having your Turkey Day feast and watching football! I still think we will end up having Chinese food that night - ah well, I will consider it a homage to the dinner scene from 'A Christmas Story'. :rotfl:

This new job is killing me - I will definately need this vacation.

So...my list....
pirate: pick up our matchy-poo WDW outfits from the Cleaners (press only, you don't want to see me with an iron!)
pirate: Order DHs tux online (tried to do this today, got all the measurements but they want his jacket size - what the heck did they need the measurements for  if he had a jacket I wouldn't need to order the tux!!!!)
pirate: Wait for DSs tux to arrive in the mail - and buy a bow tie for it.
pirate: Make sure my 'planned' outfits still fit
pirate: Haircut and Pedi (and maybe a little rippy-rippy)
pirate: Order basket from Shirley
pirate: Try and find watershoes for DH and DS (might wait until we are in FL, where I expect they will be more plentiful than in Toronto in November LOL)
pirate: Finalize our Pirate outfits and pack them away (ordered mine from ebay today :thumbsup2 )

OK....that's enough for now....there are TONS more things but I am stressing myself out!

Hey all, Ya Willie....still "off" on Wednesdays but yesterday had to go in and interview a new F&I guy smack in the middle of "Millertime".....you know....noon! LOL
Looks like the cruise thing this fall isn't going to happen....we are going to a neighbors cabin in crysal mountain (Michigan) for Thanksgiving weekend and we have a BIG new car showing the following week. Probably going to take a 4 or 5 night "Beaches" vacation during x-mas break. The girls REALLY want to sail so I'm trying to work on something for spring break......If not the next available is THIS sailing for us!

well at least we know he didn't fall off the earth LOL :teeth:

Evening all:

Kathy: I dont know how Bob's foot is doing? Bob how is your foot.....

Jack is my dog's name.... :rotfl: hey dont feel bad. After we had gotten Jack, he was probably a year or two old, my sister (yes Marge) sent me an email. She asked me how Sam was, Sam is our dog that we had to put down a week before we got Jack. So I mailed her back and said, I dont know, he's dead. But Jack is doing ok. :rotfl: She got a really good laugh out of that. Jack's foot is ok. still limping and still not looking much better, but he seems to be doing ok with it.

Not much going on here, watching some tv and then yippee going to bed. I get off work at 11:30 tomorrow, have to work 4 hours saturday  but I do like getting off early during the week.

DH has an MRI at 6:10 this morning so I had to get to work an HOUR earlier than ususal.... (blech) :surfweb:
By the end of the day I will be lucky if I can spell my own name!

DH and I made our packing list a few weeks ago, and have a pile of stuff on our spare room bed that we know we need to bring, and won't need between now and then. DH wants to get out our suitcases this weekend and air them out, and febreeze them.
After almost 10 years of being married to me, he is transforming into a plan-ahead packer! When he went to California in April he actually asked if we could "test" pack a few weeks before the trip, to make sure that everything he needed would fit into his carry on. :woohoo:

Tomorrow we are meeting DH's parents to go shopping. (long story short, we can save 30% off even sale prices at most of the mens shops in the outlet mall if we go with her... I guess its worth it...maybe... :) )

Have a great day!!

We have been breaking heat records for this time of the year the past 3 days and will continue through the weekend. It has been in the low 90's but with high humidity which makes it seem like 98 or so. Yesterday was horrible outside.
Today I have one quick trip to the bank this morning and Minnie's walk, then I am staying in for the day!!!
Wish I could send some of the :sunny: to you guys who have the cold right now!!!

I did manage to buy my magnetic sheets yesterday for my door signs. I plan on working on them today while I am in the house for the day.

Good Morning, All!

Bright shiny morning here, NOT! Deluge.

Nevamind. It's FRIDAY! One of my team leaders is taking us out to lunch at a very nice place. We work like heck for him, but he rewards us too. It's a DEAL!.

This weekend.

Empty spare bedroom for next weekend's guest. (we had started collecting cruise stuff in there.)

Decide on flippers from National Geographic.

TWO circle journals to do. My favorite things, and most magical moments.

Work on my album for DL & Vegas.

Yardwork - if bulbs come - stick them in.

Plan meals from now til vacation - no, actually now til Christmas. Groceries. well, I could go ahead and plan til marathon and be done with it. . .

That's probably MORE than enough!

Happy Day, All!

We have a sunny, but cold & frosty morn here so far. Kathy send some of that heat here -- by the time it arrives it'll be about 80 and perfect! :thumbsup2 Can't complain too much -- I'll go from back room, into vehicle in garage and then a few steps from parking lot into office, so it's not like the cold will actually get to me.

I'm going into work today while DH stays home. He has to go renew his drivers license since his b-day is on the 24th.

Athene - wow...all that with rice krispy treats, hu? Tell DH I'm impressed.

Lynn - he is so adorable..can't wait to meet him in person.

Bill...I had to laugh...no matter where we go DH always has that extra pair of underwear and socks...just in case.

Jeff...hmmm...I may pack less shoes than you :)

Bob...loved your list...that's about how DH does it too.

After reading everyone's lists I'm starting to realize that I best get busy doing some stuff for this cruise. I haven't even changed over our closets yet here in NJ because the weather has been so crazy...hot one day...cold the next. I am tackling that project next week and I plan on putting our outfits right into the suitcases. Of course that's the plan, we'll see what really happens.

I need some suggestions for gift baskets for DD(11-as of next week!) and DS(almost 8). I haven't done this before and I would really like to surprise them. I'm thinking of surprised DH too - guys, how about some ideas?

My weekend plans...dinner tonight with good friends and a garage sale tomorrow.

Hope everyone has a great day!

HI EVERYONE :wave2:
Boy, it seems like forever since I visited last. Sure hope I was missed :goodvibes
Lynn, I got a job also! I'm going in at 2 p.m. each day to work the extended hour day for a private school. I did teach at a private school before Cullen was born and I chose to stay home with him for Esther and Stephen. The school I'm going to work at is allowing me to take Cullen and Laura with me. There is a 2 year waiting list at this school and by me working there we will be able to get Cullen in for pre-school :cheer2: We are VERY excited about that. This will give Cullen the opportunity to develop his social skills. Being with Nana all day doesn't afford him the experience of interacting with other children. In other words...HE IS SPOILED! Not to the rotten stage yet, but he's close! ;)

I don't have a list yet. In fact, I'm not even ready to go yet! I am still trying to take off that extra 10-15 pounds...So, I'm sorry guys, the cruise has to be cancelled for at least another month. :confused3

Gotta go have some skin cancer frozen off my face! Lucky me! I'll check in later.
I start my new job working with all the pre-K4's on Monday! :bounce: I'm really looking forward to it.

Hello again,

Just checking in to say hello. I think I'm going to start my packing list and getting things ready next week. My house is completely in shambles right now. But my floors are done and they look great. But about half of our house (books, furniture, junk) are shoved into two small rooms. I'm trying to get it reorganized to where it belongs and am babysitting my friends 2 yo. He's a wild one too. So I'm not getting much done. Our computer was off for 3 days straight. It's been a long time since I've gone that long without one. Well, I should go see what the little monster is into. :scared: I really love the little guy.

:wave2: afternoon all:

Well not much going on here. Just got home from work a short time ago.
I finally figured out what is going on with Jack's paws. Its not so much that the paw pad is split, I think he has allergies and has been excesively licking them, has them red, swollen and last night bleeding. So I gave him some benadryl, alcoholed and neosporin them. Today I stopped and got some calamine lotion. Going to try that for the itchy feeling. After I do this I put socks on his paws. He look so darn funny. He just lays there with his paws streched out in front of him looking at them.... :rotfl: Then he pulls them off.

Well I should do some cleaning around here....

My weekend plans....saturday 8-12 working..yuk  then shopping for a suit for Wally.
Sunday, my dad is taking us (and my two sisters and husbands) out for dinner. My Mother's birthday is 10-23 and this is her 10 yr. anniversary since she has passed away. So he want's to take us all out for her birthday. So it will be nice.

Well I will be back later

Hi All
I have missed alot these past 2 days. I came home from work sick on thursday and went to the doctor, I have a bad bacterial sinus infection and he has me on heavy antibiotics so I have basically been asleep for the past 2 days. But today I feel much better :woohoo: . I did try to explain to the doc that I was going on a cruise and COULD NOT be sick.

Josh, keep up the good work with school :Pinkbounc

Shell, I loved the map, you are too talented :artist:

Well last night was not a great night with DS. DS has a very bad stuffy nose and last night started with a cough that keep him up the entire night. He was running a slight temperture last night but nothing this morning!! Poor DH he is a very light sleeper and our stupid :furious: :furious: :furious: new neighbor decided to blast his radio at 11pm so that keep DS and DH up almost all night!! DH went to sleep on the sofa at 2am and I woke him up alittle while ago and told him to go into bed. Well as for me I went to sleep at 12 midnight and got up at 4am with DS. Well we are not goint to my in-laws for DH's Uncle's B-day because I just want DS to rest and get better ;) ;) !! Well I talk to you later :thumbsup2 !!

Happy Saturday all. - It is going to be another :sunny: day in FL I'm afraid.
I know you all wish for some of this but... believe me, we get very tired of it! It gets so hot you can't even go outside.
Isn't that right Kathy.

Pat is correct, we are in for a hot one again today!!! :sunny:

We have NO plans for the weekend.

Pat I saw the ad for the craft show at Mt. Dora,
let me know how it was. I was curious about it, maybe next year I will go to it.

I guess my one plan for the weekend is to watch the Magic pull out on two palms web cam tonight.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Mornin everyone! Darn, I thought at this hour, I'd be the first post....rats. Oh, well...

Glad you're feeling better, Wendy.

Kathy and Pat...try and keep SOME of that heat for our embarking day...last year, it was pretty darn chilly for Florida as I recall...it was in the upper 50's-lower 60's when we left Port Canaveral. I'm not sure if thats normal or not but I didn't take my stocking cap off until dinner that night!

Anyways...time to put that stocking cap on again, some thermals and get out to the towpath. I've been so lazy lately and I really wanna get back into my routine. I wanna be a stud-muffin for the cruise...(ok,...ok...I'll settle for being an egg McMuffin instead....its way more realistic).
Have a great day, all.....

Ok, for those here who told me they wrote to DCL about the live music I have one more request of you.
Since we havnt got any real responses yet, we have decided to take it to the next level!!

I am posting 2 new addresses and I hope you will forward your letters there too.
Your letters should still be in your sent box and you could just copy and paste them to the new letter form.
You may want to add a line at the top saying that DCL hasnt responded yet, so you are hoping they will respond because your letter is important!!

One address is dcl spokesperson the other is an (important)executive at dcl.

Our goal is to fill up their mailboxes over the weekend. so they will have a BIG surprize on Monday morning when they go to work.

Did anybody else get that email from Sonny Listen about the possibility of a tour & Beach in St. Maarten? Anybody going to do it?

:Now a questions for the MEN!!!! or wives.....who is wearing a tux and who is wearing just a suit? :confused3 just curious Wally was interesting in knowing. Thanks

I can tell you this is a huge debate around our neck of the woods. I wear suits to work EVERYDAY, and don't want to wear one at all while on vacation. My dad doesn't want to wear anything while on the boat but shorts, T-Shirts and flip flops, and doesn't really even want to be bothered with cruise casual clothes. But in the interest of being exposed to the high society life, and eating somewhere that doesn't serve just hamburgers, I'm wearing a suit for semi-formal night and was under the impression that if you didn't wear a tux for formal night you "felt out of place" and "ruined it" for the rest of the folks who have a tux.

Besides you people are in trouble anyway, my kids are eating with us. The other day when we were in a BBQ place someone slid their chair across the concrete floor, my son stood up in the booth, pointed his finger in that direction, and announced to everyone in the restaraunt that, "Someone over there has gas."

So I ask you, will a tux really add any class to my meal?

Steve

Steve,

My understanding is that pretty much anything (except jeans & shorts - though you'll see that, too) goes on the different nights. I think you're right, the ones who don't dress up may feel more uncomfortable. But, I don't think you'll ruin anyone's experience with what you wear.

From what I've read on these boards, most people tend to wear either a dark suit & tie or tux for formal & semi-formal nights. Some have been spotted in cruise casual on all nights.

Kathy and other veteran cruisers can probably offer more insight!

Another option for avoiding dress codes would be to eat at Topsiders. It sounds like they have a nice dining option for those who don't want to go to the dining room on a particular night. It's still table service (and they serve the same things as on the main menus), but with salad bar instead of all the appetizer choices. I think we may check it out on one of the nights.

I'm sure they've seen it all on DCL as far as kids' behavior!!!! Your kids will probably be better behaved than some of the adults! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Hope this helps!!!

Cheri

P.S. Bottom line -- you're on a cruise -- there are NO rules! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Good morning Banana Heads

A gray, cold day here in Ohio ... with the "S" word in the forecast for the next couple of days. :crazy2:

Steve, you have just confirmed that Cullen is going to be my little buddy on this cruise :rotfl2: ! And as for the tux vs. suit, just look at the awards shows like the Emmys and Oscars and you see that both are perfectly acceptable.

Denise, we got Bill's suit at (everybody now) Kohl's. It's a beautiful charcoal pinstripe.

Linda, I got the e-mail from Sunny about St. Maarten, but we had already made plans for that day so I declined. Are you going to do that tour? Oh, and I forgot to mention that that little gift for you in Bruce's basket? Make sure you put it on HIS credit card :rotfl:

Bob ... you do NOT have 5 weeks to decide on a tux! You need a couple of week for alterations! Geez ... men ... :headache:

Sarah: Water shoes ... go to swimoutlet.com. Really good end-of-season prices.

Got one thing checked off my list yesterday, going to try for a couple more today. Will check in later ...

Steve

As someone who wore a Tux on the last DCL adventure, I can tell you that there was such a mix of everything that you won't feel out of place in anything (literally). The people at the table next to us had on jeans and t-shirts, which I found completely inappropriate, however I'm considering khakis, a jacket and maybe a tie (possibly a suit) for formal night...and will be among the best dressed there if my last experience is any guideline. I suspect it depends on the crowd on each individiual cruise...but I actually felt a bit overdressed at Formal night in my tux and feel now like i've "done that" so no need to go there again.

Ok, here is our tux vs suits discussion. My husband is trying his hardest to find a suit. There is NO WAY I'm getting him in a tux. So, we are for the suit section ;)
I spoke to Kathy and she said that a suit is fine. Some wear suits and some tuxes. Her husband wears a suit. We are getting a Mickey tie, oops...make that a grumpy tie and putting it on with a suit.
I tried on my dress shoes to see if my toe could stand it. Sorry everyone, this country pumpkin might end up with tennis shoes on for "formal night" :confused3

Stephen is right. You are all in for a treat when you meet us! There is nothing formal about us.
And yes Shell, you are going to love Cullen! At first he'll act real shy, but after you're around him...watch out! There isn't a person who meets him who doesn't love talking to him. O' gone it, I forgot to tell you, watch what you say...he's a parrot! Right Stephen! :rolleyes1

Lynn - our DS was a little guy the first time we cruised..not as little as yours but it was my understanding that children that young are not expected to be dressed up every night. Do not worry about that at all. I think it's really cute that you're going to put him in a little tux though...I can't wait to see that.

TIARA! Now THERE's a stroke of genius if I ever heard one! princess:

My spouse will be wearing a suit or a dark blue sport coat with grey pants for formal / Semi Formal nights.

Lynn, All that baby food / diaper stuff sounds like the perfect contents for a "ship it to the ship package", if you ask me. (Not that you did, and you're right, i guess i'da got him up too, if I thought he was going to be up at midnight!) That baby is so cute you could bring him to dinner in a onesie and nobody will notice what he has on.

We probably won't do that tour - if a bunch were, we might, but it's not overwhelmingly compelling on it's own.

Hey guys ... just so we're on the same page, the regional gift does not have to be an ornament, but does need to be regional. For instance, Bill and I are getting something that is very Ohio, but would not work on a Christmas tree no matter how hard you tried

In that case, I found the perfect thing but it was $20 and weighed 5 pounds. I wasn't so concerned about the $20 but who is going to want to lug this thing home in their already overstuffed luggage?!

It was chilly (40's) , but we did yard work this morning, followed by a 2 hour nap. gotta LOVE these weekends!

Kathy, how was the world?

Hi everyone,
just got back from Animal Kingdom. It was very HOT, but we had a good time. Due to the animals hiding in the bushes, because of the heat we didnt see as many animals as we usually do, but we still saw plenty.

I did wave at several characters while we were there. Yes, they waved back too!!
It was kind of wierd too. As I was standing in line to have security search my bag a man about 30 years old didnt want to take off his fanny pack so they could search the back zipper. He said that was illegal and he didnt have to be searched.
He demanded the security man check his ID. He was a cop. Security said he would have to be searched like everyone else.
He really got mad and the security guard had to call a supervisor. In the mean time the man walked around the table and confronted a cop from the sheriff's department and showed him his badge too.
The on duty cop told him, outside laws do not apply here, EVERYONE must submit to a bag search or they cant go into the park. That is Disneys rules, no exceptions!!
This man was crazy, he was really mad and shouting about his rights???
By now the security supervisor came over and he was so friendly and introduced himself to the man and asked what the problem was.

The man yelled and hollered about it. As I finally got through security I could hear him telling him, I dont care about who you are, every bag, even disney workers must be searched or you cant go in!!
I dont know if he ever got in or not, but if that supervisor got his name and were he was a cop he could loose his job or get suspended without pay for along time, if he reported him.
You just cant flash your badge and walk in like you own the place.

Ok, suits or tuxes?? In this house the men wear suits not tuxes!!!
we may even go to the buffet this time because DS and his girlfriend will be at Palos that night anyway.

But on our past cruises most wore suits, yes there were a few tuxes which looked really great, but you wont feel out of place no matter whch one you decide to wear. Once you get in the dining room if you watch you will see tropical shirts, dockers, jeans, as well as suits and tuxes.
The choice is yours.

Lynn, dont worry about dressing up the baby. as long as he has some kind of clothes on, so he is" NOT streaking "in the dining room it will be fine.
Many babies wear shorts, booties, no shoes, just what ever is comfortable for them. And as i recall sometimes in the middle of dinner babies often have to change to a new set of clothes anyway?? :rotfl: At least mine did.

Tiara, go for it!!
On our August cruise my DD and GD bought me a princess tiara and brought it to dinner for me to wear, and I did!! I actually had 2 people compliment me on it. Now King Louie is wearing it as he swings from my chandeleir in the dining room.

Shell,

Ok we are now at 8315

Hey Kathy!!! Congrats on post #3000---holy *&$#!
I'm glad you had a great time at Disney... Sounds like you got to see a show that wasn't scheduled with the cop....lol. That is one thing I do love about Disney AND about DCL. They have rules and you follow them. Those rules might make you angry or happy but their set down and clearly spelled out. Just seems a little less complicated to me(that and the adult pool IS the adult pool).

Oke doke...nuff of that rant and rave...
Have a great afternoon all!

HI Everyone,

Hope you are all enjoying your weekend. The weather stories from different partsof the country (OK, so with me included we can say Continent lol) are pretty interesting. We had a gorgeous day yesterday. I would guess around 55 degrees (about 10 degrees). We worked outside most of the day cleaning out the eavestroughs, raking and generally preparing for Old Man Winter. Today has been very rainy and dull unfortunately. We did manage to get DH a pair of 'dockers' type pants to go with our matching Disney Tropical outfits. So, that is all taken care of. As far a Formal Night - the men-folk will be in Tuxes (we are renting DHs) and I will be in *something* - still tbd. Semi-formal is a bit up in the air. I have something and DS has something but I am not sure about DH. We do not dress up much other than at weddings and DH does not own a suitjacket. We actually went to Moore's today to find out what suit jacket size he is so I can order the tux online. I think he will be wearing a white formal shirt and tie with dress pants for semi-formal night. LIkely the same for Palo. Can you wear a tux jacket without the rest of the tux??? I have heard you guys mention it but wouldn't that look a little weird? Anyway, our pirate outfits all are ordered so now I just pray they arrive in time from our ebay sellers. I seriously think we will have one suitcase for pirate stuff alone - sad but true LOL.

I will try and work on my regional gift this week. I have some ideas, but it likely won't be an ornament unless you want a Toronto Maple Leafs ornament - which I doubt many people do LOL. (PS - do we have anyone from WIsconsin, because you could always wrap Brent Favre up for me. I'd hang his tree anyday  ).

We're off to try a Chinese/Sechuan place tonight, hopefully it is good - always a bit of fingers crossed when trying a new restaurant!

Talk to everyone soon - I cannot wait to meet you all in person!!!!!!!!!!

Sarah

PS - FL residents - does Target have sumemr type stuff all year round - like waterwings, swimshoes, capris etc etc?? We have the Friday all day in Cape Canaveral and there are a few things I would like to pick up that they don't carry up here becuase the 'season' is over. Also - anyone know any other good stores in that area?? What is this Koh;'s I keep hearing about - is it a dept store like Sears??

Thanks Bill,
I never really watched how many posts I had for such a long time that I had NO idea I was even close to 3000.

I have several tales of people at WDW that just dont get it!! But I cant talk about them. My DS has really run across some strange ones while working there. Plus some really great ones who are famous.
Some of the nicest were Michael J. Fox, John Travolta and his wife, a couple famous football players, basketball players and the guy who played Willow. I cant remember his name.

The one who wanted to make sure everyone knew who he was, was Hugh Hefner. :snooty:
He was at Epcot when my son worked there a year ago and he had on his purple smoking jacket, his pipe in his mouth and 3 bunnies on each arm. My son wanted to offer to give "them" a private tour of Epcot, but it didnt work out. :rolleyes1

The most obnoxious one was Michael Jackson. I cant say what he threw a childish fit about, but he really acted worse than a 5 year old having a tantrum because he couldnt have what he wanted. :furious:

On the other hand his sister Janet was just so nice and friendly to everyone, even taking pictures with cast members which is forbidden unless the celebrity offers without being asked.

Well it is about time to take Minnie for her evening walk, so better go. She is dancing by the door and whimpering. She loves her walks!!!

Sarah,
down on the coast you night find some summer clothes and shoes, but most of the stores have gone to winter clothing here already. DH had a terrible time finding a swim suit the other day.
When it gets down to 70 people here wear long pants, jackets, I have even seen gloves and hats and it was 70 degrees out??
I am still in my shorts at 70 and my neighbors think I am crazy!!!

But I wouldnt count on it as a sure thing. I havnt gone to the coast that much, only to the port, so I am not sure what stores they have there. Maybe Pat or Steve will know??

Sarah - do you have the red and tan hawaiian print matching outfits? If so, when are you wearing them? Wouldn't want to make a Dis dress faux pas!

DH is wearing his tux (we bought it on Ebay a few years ago and certainly got our money's worth). He's taking another sports coat with khakis for semiformal night. DS has a dark suit from his first holy communion so he'll wear that for formal night and then re-wear the jacket with khakis on semi formal night.

I was so happy to get the deal of the century on my formal dress yesterday at Ross. They had a gown marked down for 14.99!!! Plus, I had a credit in my wallet for $7.99 so I walked out with a new dress for $7. Nevermind that I now need to buy shoes and a shawl to match...the dress was a deal!

My back is hurting again and I think I've been doing too much and haven't given it time to heal. Probably back to the doctor this week for more meds. Gotta get better for our trip!

WHERE ARE OUR COUNTERS? And, what about those Fighting Irish???? :bounce: :woohoo:

This should be a fun guessing game ... hmmm ... :scratchin $20, 5 lbs, from New York ... :scratchin Cement shoes? No no, you're not from the city :rotfl: (You say "call of the loons" and all I can think of is Katharine Hepburn in "On Golden Pond" calling out to them when they got to the cabin :rotfl2: )

I vote for QUEEN - It's Great to be Queen! But that is a wicked cute tiara with the purple princess on it.

Yes, we're far from New York City, here. It's about 150 miles as the crow flies, but it might as well be on the moon when we talk about the differences. I read the essay Lynn wrote and thought - that doesn't sound at ALL like the New York I know. . . which was the weekend Buffalo had 30 inches of snow and we had sunny and 60 . . . actually much of New York is rural or even wilderness!

I wonder when they'll post the dates for 2008?

Good Evening All Nana Heads!!!

On the subject of tuxes/formal night -- Dave will a sport coat and a Mickey Mouse tie. I've been on 6 previous DCL cruises and you'll see all types of dress. No one is out of place.

Jeff -- sorry about Pitt's loss to Rutgers. But I was rooting for Rutgers as my son, Jeff, got his masters there (freebie - he was a teaching assistant in the physics department).

MSU Spartans -- the come back kids!!! I fell asleep (while granddaughters were taking a nap) with them having 3 points on the screen and woke up to them winning.

Go Tigers -- Hope they win tonight. It's about 30 degrees at Comerica Park tonight.

We made plans tonight to get together next Sunday with Bob and Gitta for final cruise plans. Bob reminded me that we have 23 working days before vacation.

Busy and tired Grrandma heading to bed soon. We had Haley (4) and Bella (2.5) this weekend. Fun, fun, fun.

You live in Trixie Belen country!
One summer my best friend and I drove out to Catskill to visit her family and found out that we both grew up reading those books. :thumbsup2
(I still have mine!)

This weekend was good... Excpet that we went to my brothers on Sunday night for his birthday dinner, and my mom brought along her crazy sister who made the entire evening very tense and uncomfortable. Poor DH got the brunt of it.... Apparently President Bush and Hitler are working together to spread war all over the globe.... (of course when DH pointed out that Hitler was dead, she changed the subject!)

Saturday we bought DH a new suit for the cruise. I think he looks pretty sharp in it, so we aren't going to do the Tux thing this cruise.

Good morning everyone,

Denise, I may be wrong but it was my understanding that Tonya would be mailing us our shirts and then we would know how much money to give her.

That way we could wear them to the port so we can find each other in the terminal before boarding the ship. Just look for the green. :thumbsup2

I am going to be there when it opens and I will be grabbing anyone in those shirts when they arrive. I think Wendy was going to be there early too, so we both will be looking for that sea of green to arrive!!! :woohoo:

Lynn,
Hope DS gets something to clear him up. My kids went through that too. It is scary when they get so clogged they cant breath good enough to eat properly. I'm sure the doctor will be able to give him something to help. ;) Please keep us posted!!

Ok, ladies it is hard for me to admit, I'd better hope DH doesnt read this or he will deney it, but I am treated like a queen everyday!! :goodvibes
I am as spoiled as Minnie is. That didnt come out the way I meant for it to, but you get the idea.

He never complains if I buy something, instead he says I dont spend enough on myself. If I dont want to cook, he is just as happy with a tuna fish sandwhich, he does the hard housework, such as scrubbing all the floors and showers. If I do something that is hard physically, he gets upset and tells me to leave that stuff for him. If I ask to go somewhere special, he always makes it happen with NO complaints.

One Valentines day he bought me a car and didnt tell me. We had been looking at them and I mentioned I liked a Chrysler, but we wernt ready to buy, just browsing. He went back and bought it for me. I looked outside and there is was, just sitting in the driveway.

Twice he has surprised me with 3 day DCL cruises. One was 2 days notice and the other I had 4 days notice.
And here is the 2 biggest things, HE picks up after himself and ALWAYS puts the seat down!!!!!

On the other hand i dont just blow money on anything that comes along, I rarely ask for anything special and I always appreciate what he does for me and I let him know that!!!

So even before DD bought me a tiara, I always considered myself a queen!!

Now to keep DH from reading this and getting a BIG head from it!!!

We are finally getting a cold front tonight. Suppose to only get around 68 to 70 the next two days, lows in the 50's. That sounds really great to me!! Thursday and Friday will be highs in the 80s again. But the 2 cooler days will be great.

well time to get ready to do the usual errands, banking, groceries, pharmacy etc...

I will check back later to see what is happening.

Sarah - I'm sorry, I can't help you out with your shopping request. I've never been over to that side of our world. Well, maybe once, about 35 years ago!

Kathy - don't you love this weather! Glad you had a good time yesterday. And I must confess. I am also treated like a queen around our house. I don't get cars, but I do get my fair share of help around the house. I married very well. Not wealthy, well. ;)

Good luck with your new job today, Pat!

Kathy, I'm with you - I wouldn't want my husband to read what I write about him, either. He's a grumpy dumpling, but he vaccuums and dusts. He brought home two potted Easter Lilies from the supermarket (buy one get one free) for our 25th anniversary - but then he bought me new tires. He tells me I'm pretty, even though I know I'm - er pooh sized. I think I'll keep him!

Bob...honestly...whats "cold" for you folks....where does the temp become uncomfortable for you? I never lived anywhere that didn't have a cold season so I'm curious.
Well, the problem is that are you asking what is cold for the south, or what is cold for Bob? There are two different answers. Most people down here consider anything below 60 degrees to be on the edge of cold. We regularly see the 30s during winter, and some nights in the 20s. Now, in 1983, we saw below zero temps in Atlanta for a week, the lowest of which was 5 below.

As for Bob, I don't put on a jacket until it reaches the 40s unless I am going to be outside for an extended time. Then, I might put on a sweat jacket. When I was in Detroit in January through March last year, typically wore a dress shirt and t-shirt to work, but rarely wore my jacket. Always had it in the car, just didn't put it on. DW will tell you that I can look at a picture of the sun and get hot, so it takes a lot to make me cold. :lmao:

It is this time of year that makes most southerners know why they continue to live in the south and tolerate the hot summers. For a couple of months of unbearable heat, we end up a lot of months of lows in the 50s and highs in the 70s!

Hi everyone,
We are almost at our goal of 4,000 posts before we leave. Where do I start. My daughter is doing better but I am so so frustrated. The past weekend has been rough. Friday is cleaning day and I am supposed to clean the upstairs bathroom. Well by the time I got to it my mother in law was all ready in there. She doesn't give me a chance to do anything. It would have been done but I was making my DD's beds first. My father in law also doesn't want me to tell them when I do something. Well if I don't tell them then they are not going to know and then they will think that I did not do anything. I do not know what to do. I will be so happy when we go away for a week. I really need it. I have cried every day for the last three days and I do not want to say anything and have it blow up again like it did before.

Thanks for listening

www.tiaratown.com/ for a "good" one
http://www.funtasticnovelties.com/ProductDetails.aspx?ID=jewp18225p&selection=11 only $9/dozen :rotfl:

Just Google "princess tiara" (or "queen tiara") in google images. I think you can probably get something like that at a party store.

Oh its great, something else for me to decide on. Which on do you want, do they have one that says Witch or something stronger. That is what my co-workers are calling me when I announce the # of days until I leave every morning.

I have and we have lived there for several months and nothing seems to be getting any better. My husband even said that if I do not want to stay that I could leave. It doesn't matter what I do I still won't be happy. If I leave then my family won't be together.

I feel like I am stuck between a rock and a hard place. Please pray for me.

I am so torn and upset. In fact as I am writing this I have tears in my eyes.

Lucinda

P.S. I am involved in a program called Upward Basketball. I can't wait till that starts. That will get us( meaning the 5 of us) out of the house for a while.

My prayer and thoughts are with your family. I am sending you a hug :grouphug: :grouphug: !!

Hi everyone! Holy "SNOW" (cross-reference words if you wish!!!!) -- It just took me 30+ minutes to catch up from yesterday & today!

Yesterday I had to take my mom to the immediate-care clinic (which, BTW, is just a clever name. It has nothing to do with how the office is run! :rotfl: ) because she got bit by one of her kittens. She was trying to catch them to put them inside because it's so cold at night. :sad2:

Anyway, her thumb and index finger were so swollen that she couldn't even move them. It took almost 3 hours from the time she checked in to the time she had her perscription filled. :hourglass She has quite an infection that came on very fast. Once we knew all was fine, I could relax and hum Ted Nugent's "Cat Scratch Fever." :rolleyes1

DD & I used the time to shop at Kohl's!!! Sarah -- Kohl's is a mid-range department store, maybe comparable to JCPenney's. Not any hardware or appliances like Sears. They always have great sales! :thumbsup2 This weekend was "the lowest prices of the season" -- but I think they have that every week! :rotfl2:

As far as the tiaras -- they are splendid! We should probably also get the sashes (a la Miss America) with our diva names on them! princess: In our house, DD is the princess princess: princess: , but I am the queen!! :cheer2:

Lynn & Lucinda -- here's a :grouphug: and some pixiedust: to help you and your families feel better.

Talk to you later!

Hey Everyone-

Just getting a chance to sit down and read thru our posts today. Whew we are a chatty bunch...and you haven't even me me yet ;)

Lynn-sorry to hear about DS. Here's some pixie dust for you pixiedust: pixiedust:

Lucinda- :grouphug: :grouphug: and more :grouphug: . I lived with my in-laws for about 4 1/2 mos. at which point I got thrown out. Yep, you read that right...I was told to go but her son could stay - yeah right, like that happened. Actually, believe it or not, 5 yrs later and things are fine. It was a HORRIBLE time though and looking back I don't know how we got thru it. Fortunately DH and I are strong and we stuck together. Plus I made a point of very rarely being at home when he wasn't there. It definitely made things easier. HANG IN THERE! You will get thru this. In just a few short weeks you will be sailing on the Magic with a bunch of leftover Turkeys and Dancing Bananas..what more could a girl ask for? :thumbsup2

I'm going to start my packing this week. Yaay! It's finally time to completely change the closets over from spring/summer to fall/winter. It really makes the task that much less boring knowing that I'm packing for our cruise.

I hope everyone has a great night!

OK, first of all, I'm sitting here half-laughing and half - :confused3 as I thought we were just playing, but now it would seem that the tiara patrol is real :lmao: . It could be fun ... but I would vote for our first night if any.

But even more exciting ... how will we choose BOB'S tiara?? In the words of the great Flounder from Animal House ... "Oh boy, this is gonna be GREAT!" :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Cheri, leave it to you to summize the alternative S word :rotfl2: Actually, I knew you'd be the one to get that!

I cannot believe I didn't get a loud BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO on the Dancing Banana Queens comment :headache: . I was so expecting it! :lmao: I'm sure when DH gets here that will change :lmao:

This is gonna be a LOOOOOONNNNGGGG cruise! :lmao:

I don't think so, Bob......... A week long cruise is never long enough. I hate Thursdays on the Eastern DCL cruise b/c the next day is CC day, then trhe big let down because the day's over and suitcases must be outside our doors later that night.

Don't forget Nana Heads -- we mut attend the cruise talent show on the last night at approx. 10 or 10:30pm. It's a must see. So, plan to pack ahead and get your stuff outside your door before the show.

It's been very cold here in Michigan. S*** is supposed to fall overnight. We've had a terrible fall.

Jeff -- I'm not against your Panthers. Just that they've played two teams I have an affection for, plus WVU is coming up. When is that game? I'll be in Morgantown with my daughter and 2 grandkids on 11/10 and 11/11.

The tiaras are a great accessory. I'll skip the tiara though. Not a tiara-type!

Pat and Kathy -- I think I'll see both of you a lot early each morning on deck 9 at the coffee station.

Cindylu -- big hugs to you. I know I've forgotten, but is there any chance you can move your family out to your own place?

Dave is a special DH, too. He and I work opposite shifts. He cooks most of his own meals, cleans up, runs the dishwasher, etc. He and I do separate laundry. Also, clothes in his drawers are very organized thanks to the US Navy training.

Cindalu, you can only do what you can do. HANG TOUGH. (And do what's important to THEM first!)

Lynn, glad to hear the baby slept - maybe the cold will break now and he'll be on the mend.

Tiaras will be GREAT - but I will NOT be a banana queen. Turkey? Yes. Wild? Yes. Banana? No way in Hedoubletoothpicks! In the first place, I much more resemble a peach. . . or a certain purple witch who's secretly in love with Arial's father. . . It's a good thing I don't have time - one year for a meet, I made everyone crowns and hennens with veils. Must a been a good idea - the next year they started selling similar headgear in all the shops. I might even still have my Tiara from highschool, back in the dark ages. . .

I found some more - www.orientaltrading.com (http://www.orientaltrading.com) including one for HIM!

Good Morning Everyone!

It's a chilly 39 degrees here in NJ this morning BRRRRR. Poor DD was at the bus stop 15 minutes ago - not fun!

Not much going on here, just the usual - Jazzercise this morning and then grocery shopping for the family. I may try to get out and do some fun shopping this afternoon before the kiddos get home from school. I started the closets last night and started putting some of DD's cruise wear to the side :Pinkbounc I can't believe how close the cruise is getting.

Lynn - i hope DS is feeling better.

Kathy - it's funny to hear someone say they are loving the cold weather. Up here in the Northeast we know it's just the beginning of things to come!

Have a great day everyone!
