Oh, I forgot to ask. Who is the person that said that they gave up drinking diet cokes? How did you do that! :confused3 I get the biggest headache and even throw up trying to give the stuff up! I have to have one just to prevent the headache. I gave up coffee and tried the diet coke, just can't deal with the pain!

Pat, I don't think it was me that said that recently gave up Diet Coke, but I had to give it up about 9 years ago. I had to go cold turkey. I had the headaches too, real doozies, but give it about 24 hours (and don't take tylenol, it has some of the same ingredients in it) and you will see the light at the other end of the tunnel. I wish you LUCK. I spent my first 24-36 hours griping at everyone, didn't want any noise or light in my room and spent the whole day in bed (I was pregnant at the time). I have't had any Coca-Cola products since then. Don't even miss it.
Good Luck. I know you can do it.

Hi Everyone-
I'm enjoying reading your dog stories. We don't have a dog...my DH says once they learn how to scoop their own p*** then we will! Actually we have such a hectic, crazy life that we aren't home very much and don't think it would be fair to the puppy. We do have a hamster though - named DISNEY!
We dog sit my mom's dog once a year while she goes on vacation. Maggie is a shnoodle - miniature shnauzer/poodle. She a VERY smart dog and she's good too. My mom cannot make pasta or sauce without the dog doing circles around her feet while she is trying to cook. I didn't know this so imagine my surprise when I was cooking pasta and she was going nuts!! :Pinkbounc
As far as dining room stories...on our first cruise our head server was fantastic but very much "all business", not real sociable. The asst. server was great but was complaining to us one day about his job. We liked him though - he was "real". On our last cruise the servers were just ok. I do feel like we haven't gotten the "Disney" treatment where the dining room is concerned, but it certainly hasn't been bad. We've always tipped our servers because they do work their butts off.
I'm off to do some shopping at Target. Have a great day everyone!

HOORAY!!! I finally got my internet back today. It was gone all morning so I am late posting.
Love all the doggie stories too!! :dogdance:
It is amazing how smart these animals are and how they wrap us around their paws ( little fingers) :rotfl2:
Every evening when I start dinner Minnie runs to the front window and shakes and cries until Greg shows up. Also if she sees me brushing my hair during the day she knows I am going somewhere, so she walks on her hind legs right in my way until I say if she can come or not. She does not take the words "Your Staying" very well!! :sad2:
I too have a pharmacy and bank where at the drive thru's they will give out milk bones. Minnie remembers that too. I do take her when I use the drive thru's and she whimpers and squirms on anticipation until she gets her treat. :rolleyes1
Our dog can spell too. her word isnt o-u-t it is w-a-l-k. Or in the evening if Greg puts his hat on she runs to the drawer where we keep her leash and cries and walks on her hind legs until he gets out the leash and puts it on her.
well today I am making a homemade Taco Pizza for dinner. It is DH's birthday dinner. His birthday isnt until tomarrow, but he wont be home at dinner time so we are having his dinner tonight and tomarrow we will have his cake when he gets home.
Not much happening here today.
Denise I did notice youa re almost o 600 posts, by the end of the weekend I expect your count to be at 600. :woohoo: I am watching!!!!

Pat, I think it may have been me you saw post about it. It was about a year ago. But, you don't want to do it the same way that I did it. I was VERY sick for about three or four days, and really didn't want anything to eat or drink. I had to force myself to drink water to keep from getting dehydrated. So, I never noticed the withdrawals. Now, I didn't give up my soft drinks completely. I still have Caffeine Free Diet Coke on a daily basis, and I will still have a regular DC now and then. The difference is that the caffeine addiction isn't there anymore.

Hello......afternoon nana heads.....
I talked with my DD today...she sounded good and is in good spirts. She said the base is huge however, having a water shortage because a water main broke, so no toilet flushing nor daily showers...yuk...glad I'm not there. Otherwise they have them working 12 hour shifts..so she is pretty tired.
Well I have to think if I can remember anymore dog stories. I'm sure if I rack my brain enough I can think of 1 or 2 more. But enjoying all your stories...dogs are the best...Shell I cant belive Guido...how funny is that. :rotfl:

Jack my dobe..does not play fetch at all. I guess its just too undignified for him :confused3 ....anyway Wally and I tried to see if we could get him to play ball with us. So we were tossing the ball back and forth..and saying to Jack periodically....come on Jack, get the ball....well this went on for about 5 minutes.....finally Wally through the ball to me...I missed, the ball rolled by the coffee table, Jack jumped off his bed...ran to the ball, picked it up and then went behind the chair he normaly lays behind and layed the ball down, layed there and just looked at Wally and me with this look, like that is just about enough of this....no more :rotfl: it was really funny....I guess it was one of thoes you had to be there to get it....I think the look on his face was priceless.... ;)

Hello all!!!
Been trying to catch up but I've been away from the boards for a while so I missed a lot. Can't believe we're only a few months away. I've been doing lots of summer clearance shopping at Kohls to get ready for the cruise. I can't believe the deals!!!
Been busy planning a "princess" party for Hailey's birthday coming up on 10/2. 14 kids...in my house....I must be nuts!
My birthday was Tuesday. Andy was nice enough to order takeout for dinner from my favorite Mexican place so I didn't have to cook. He also had a wonderful raspberry tart dessert as bday cake. It was great!
Never had a dog so no dog stories but I did have a cat when I was growing up that used to play fetch with pen caps. I guess she thought she was a dog.
Anyhow, hope all of you have had a good week so far!

Hi Everyone!
I'll have to break this down a bit so I don't bore everyone (plus it furthers our 4000-post goal).
Love the dog stories!!! :thumbsup2 Our beagle Benny was good training for a toddler. If there was anything left within her reach, it was chewed up! Such a sweet, but naughty dog. I sure do miss her.
DWtS -- I was surprised Jerry lasted another round! I guess that's why they make the fan votes count for so much. They probably know he has a cult following, so he's good for ratings.
Talk to you more in a bit!!!

:bday: :bday: :bday: :bday: to Greg, Danielle, and all the other DD's, DS's, DW's & DH's with September birthdays! party:
Server/dining stories: On our very first cruise together (Big Red Boat - 1997, I think) we were seated at a table for 6 or 8. One of the men was the classic "know it all." He had been "everywhere" and done "everything" and was an authority on it all!! When we were on our honeymoon in 1999 (Carnival), we saw the SAME guy!! :rotfl2: Bill & I just looked at each other and knew it was him! Luckily, I don't think he remembered/recognized us!!!! :woohoo:
The best servers we ever had were on the Big Red Boat -- our waiter was Jan ("Yon"). He was cute, funny, and just a great worker. Everyone on the crew seemed to really like their job and the work conditions. One night they must have had quite a crew party because the next morning, Jan didn't want us speaking too loudly! :lmao: Maybe some of them found their way to DCL. . .
On our DCL cruise, we had good service, but not great. They were friendly, but a bit slow. It seemed as if they needed an extra pair of hands to help with drinks, clearing plates, etc. They were very concerned when our DD (and DS) didn't come to dinner on the last night because she wasn't feeling well. No matter what kind of service you get, I can't imagine NOT tipping them!!!! :sad2:
Gotta go -- The Office is about to start!!!

I'll bet you're a real treat to watch House with, too :rotfl2: . I had to get a couple of tests done the other week at the hospital and the last one was an x-ray. I told the tech, "I just did this, this, and this. I wanted to make sure you know so that you're sure that nothing's going to pop out of my skin when you take this x-ray. I watch House ... I know what can happen!" She had a good laugh at that ... :rotfl2:

Okay, a cat story now. One of our older cats, Sweetie, does not meow for anything except food and attention, and those are rare. Other than that, not a sound. A few years ago, he had a toy spider. One night, at about 2:30 in the morning, we hear this mounful, muffled meow coming from the hallway. I told Lisa that sounds like Sweetie and she jumps up to see what is wrong. Well, I start hearing her laughing like crazy, and then telling Sweetie that he is a good boy. When she comes back to bed, still laughing, she tells me that he had this spider in his mouth, dropped it at her feet, and cocked his head up to say look what I have done! Well, of course, since she praised him for it, that spider has died a thousand deaths. Once we got the two labs, we took up the spider because the youngest was trying to tear it up. So now, this cat "kills" every piece of cloth in the house. He will go into the laundry room or hamper and "kill" socks, underwear, dish towels, dish rags and napkins. It is not uncommon for us to come home from work and him have found 5 or 6 socks and dropped them all over the hallway! :rotfl:
Hey Bob
Congrats to the Yellowjackets. Now our teams have something in common - they both pasted UVA. Hope you have better luck in your next big game than the pittsters did against michigan state. Pitt has a game against the citadel this weekend (yawn) in a stretch of the schedule where they shouldn't lose for a few weeks, but may find a way to do so anyway...

Ok, Bob... my turn about animals that tear up all the clothing in the house. Sorry that most of the stories are about Sam but, he really was a character.
Shell used to leave her loafers beside her chair and Sam had an affinity for tearing stuff up in his youth. He was also a very social dog and when we left he got upset and a little resentful. When we finally got the point across to him that "tearing up a couch" or "ripping up mamas lambskin slippers" were bad things...he finally calmed down a little. He did find a way to express his frustration when we left, though. The loafers had little leather shoelace with tassles and we would occasionally find a tassle torn off or even better, (don't ask me how he did it)...he would untie the laces of the shoes and leave them in the middle of the living room. Goofy dog..... :goofy:

It was a fun game. Weather was crisp and beautiful. Only problem is we didn't get home until 12:30 a.m. It was a good win for us as we start our ACC schedule. Next week, we go up to Blacksburg for Va. Tech. That will be our first real test since Notre Dame.
Good luck against the Citadel. I hear they are a real powerhouse! ;)

To add to Bill's story above about Sam and my shoes ... it should be noted that everything else on those loafers remained UNTOUCHED ... except the tassle and the untying! :rotfl:
I have a cat story. Long time ago, I had one of those cats that was just too curious. She'd climb up the stem of the Xmas tree and peer out a branch ... would bring the Kill of the Day in the house ... you know the kind. Well one morning, I'm lying in bed, the ceiling fan is on its slowest speed, and there was like a ledge that circled the room. Somehow she got on the ledge, I barely had my eyes open and saw her ... just sitting on the ledge staring at the fan. I thought, Nah, she wouldn't dare ... closed my eyes .. the next thing I hear is a THUMP. Open my eyes ... the cat is hanging onto one of the blades going round-and-round above my head. What a nut. :rotfl2:

Steve - really glad to hear all is well!!
Bob - did you say we were tendering in St Thomas?? Do you know if there is a way to tell how many other cruise ships will be in port with us - I am assuming tendering means there are quite a few ships.
I need excursion help my fellow lovely-banana-heads (please). I have some time on my hands at work (kindly remember the whole project cancelling story) so.....what is a girl to do but continue to plan her upcoming cruise right! Anyway, I am starting to second guess my choices for St. Thomas because I have been reading trip-advisor.com. We were originally going to Coral world and Coki Beach, but now I am wondering is we should really take a Disney excursion over to St John because it is supposed to be so wonderful.
Anyone have any suggestions?? Anyone been to St John before?? Or have any words of wisdom for St THomas in general?? I asked Bob about the cruise ships in port because if we go to St John it would be for tranquility and if there are TONs of ships maybe everything would be really packed?? And, DS will only be 4 (but we could likely pass him off as 5 lol) so we can't do scuba or anything (I think snorkeling would be OK though). Anyway, your thoughts would be appreciated!
PS - I havn't tackled my St Maarten choice of Lotterie Farm yet (on our own) so I'll have to let you know if I change my mind on that one too!!!

Steve, that is awesome news for Laura :cloud9:
Well my :cake: is all made and cooled off, so now I need to make the chocolate mousse filling and then the chocolate frosting and I will be done.
DH wont be home til late, so I've plenty of time to get caught up on todays posts.
Shell I can just picture your kitty spinning around on the fan!! That was hilarious :rotfl2:
It seems we all have soe kind of animal stories to tell whether their were our pets or a pet of a relative or friend.
When I was growing up we always had a dog or two. Once we had a pomeranian called fluffy, he would ride in my doll buggy and the older dog, Cindy would push him down the sidewalk with her nose.
Fluffy would also ride on my motorcycle with me as we went dirt bike riding in the mountains. His favorite food was chili beans sprinkled with tillamook cheese and vanilla ice cream. YUK!!!!
Bill, My DH loves gov't cheese!!! I cant stand it myself.
Both dogs are sleeping now for almost 2 hours. I tired them out by playing fetch at 5 a.m. this morning.
Lucinda, how is your DD doing today? I hope she is having a better day today.
well time to get busy with the :stir: chocolate mousse, hope it comes out good.
Everyone should be very proud of yourselves, we are keeping up the posts really well, we may make that 4000 posts yet! :thumbsup2

The slumber party is the best for little girls. Our dd had one when she was about 11 and it was great. The girls brought some of their mom's make-up with them and the first girl to fall asleep...well, you can guess what happened to her :rolleyes1 Then in the morning my dh and I hit the sleeping girls with silly string. Don't know if they make that anymore, that was 16 years ago. Oh my, just made myself feel older. We bought some painters hats, material markers, paints, and jems and let the girls design their own hats. They really enjoyed that. Boy do I miss those days. Time really does fly by little mommys...enjoy each day, or in Lynn's case each night
Lucinda - hope all is well your way.
Kathy - your cake sounds very good right now. I can't believe I haven't had a peanut butter cup in 2 days...although, today is still young. It's a cracker barrel night! Friday fish. We usually go with Stephen and Esther on Friday evenings. Are we on tonight Stephen?

OK, so OCD me booked the Doubloon - even though I had to fudge DSs b'day to get us there. Not sure if that will fly or not, but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it. He'll be 2 mos shyof 5 for goodness sake. Anyway, hopefully the Laughing Place Police do not come and get me LOL.
I think we will still do St Maarten on our own. We have more time in that Port and I am OK with taking our little jaunt to Lotterie Farm on our own - at least for now.....I reserve the right to change my mind LOL! :teeth:

Yeah, I had typed it in earlier but something happened and it wouldn't post.
I have a little peek-a-poo that I've had for about 12 years. We had gone somewhere, and while we were gone, he somehow got ahold of Hershey's Kisses that we kept in a bowl on a table. When we came back there was little silver foil all over the living room floor. Bo had managed to perfectly unwrap each and every one of the Kisses he ate. He did not tear one piece of foil, not only that but the little strips of paper that poke out of the top of the candy was sitting next to each wrapper. We still can't figure out how he did it. By the way we called the vet and they told us that Hershey's was "cheaper chocolate" and it wouldn't hurt him. So don't feel bad when you eat a whole bag in one sitting...it's cheaper chocolate and it won't hurt you :thumbsup2

Steve -- so glad to hear wonderful news about Laura. You and your wife must be so relieved.
Jeff -- Your Panthers will soon be on the field with the Mountaineers. What is our bet going to be???!!!! Tomorrow evening, MSU hosts the Fighting Irish. East Lansing is already busy with ND fans.
Dutch's Mommy -- Trunk Bay is beautiful. Several years ago, we booked the Trunk Bay excursion trhough DCL. It took us about 45 minutes to get there from St. Thomas. While it was a beautiful view/visit to Trunk Bay, it seemed like we were in the boat most of the excursion. Your new excursion sounds like a good choice. Five other ships will be at St. Thomas when we will be there. It'll be a busy island that day.
Early tomorrow morning, I'm heading to the west side of the state to visit two of my GK - Sean and Samie.
Have a great weekend, everyone.

What a nut. :rotfl2:

Good Morning All,
Well this morning I let DH sleep in and I got up early with DS. It a nasty rainy morning. I am hoping it clears up so we can go Apple picking!! Well last night we went to my mom's house for ny sisters' b-day and at 19th years old she had a Disney Princess princess: princess: princess: princess: ice cream cake. Well my dad got my Yankees division Championship t-shirt which made my night :) :) :) :) !!!! Well today we are having my friend over with her family for dinner. Well I am off to start making the meatballs and gravy for dinner. Talk to you later.
Jd99: How did the sleepover go??
Kathy: You can relax now after a long week of dog sitting!! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 Mmmmmmmmm... that Birthday cake sounds good!!

Lynn,
the cake was very GOOD!!
Inever know how it will come out as I have re-learned to bake sugar free, low fat, low cholesterol etc... So i have to make lots of changes, but now I am getting pretty good at it. I actually use lots of unsweetened applesauce and some babyfood fruits in my baking. You cant taste them and they replace the fat and moisture.
well of to Petco to get Minnie a much needed bath, then for her mile walk this afternoon. Last night was a 3 mile walk with DH, but I am only good for a mile and I plan on going along this time.
I will check back later to catch up with you guys,

Kathy, I see your taking Minnie to get a bath at Petco. My dog, Lucy, get's a bath with a hose, more recently, because she can't stand water. She will get suds everywhere when I would give her a bath in the tub. She knew when it was bath time too because when I put her in the bathroom, she had a strong desire to get outside. :teeth: :teeth: :teeth:
I'm going to take today one hour at a time. This week really wore me out. The AP Us stuff is very hard to do! But one of my friends who took the course last year told me it would get better. I hope she's right!
Talk to you all later, oh and so you have a face to go with my dog...

And, after going to sleep at 1:30, I had to be up at 7:00 to go to breakfast with some buddies of mine (the He-Man Woman Hater's Club - yes, I had permission).
Hope you all have a great day!

I just finished watching the ship go by on two palms too.
I remember the airport on St. Maartin and the short runway they have. Don't think I would ever want to fly there.
I cant remember if it was ST. Maartin or St.Thomas, but one of them we kept having small sea planes fly by so close to the ship it was like they were flying over the top of us. This went on all day as we were docked.
This board is pretty quiet today, we need some posts or we wont make our goal !! Come on people, let's hear from you !!!

Good evening all. I am actually going out tonight - a rarity these days LOL. Stony went out last night and tonight is mine. We sometimes switch off so one can watch Dutch and one can go out. Babysitters are SO expensive, we have to have good plans to spring for one. Tonight is a girls night out - off to karaoke, should be pretty funny. I would LOVE to be able to sing, but unfortuantely I will just be cheering on friends. It is an awful feeling to go up there to sing, know you really stink, and watch people just waiting for your song to be over LOL!!
My Dad left on Thurs back to Thailand (that's where he lives if you don't remember 2000 posts ago LOL). I am hoping the coup remains peaceful and he will be OK. From what we have gathered so far, nothing much is different there among the general population.
Josh - sorry to hear school is so tough. I think it is tougher now than it was when I was there. Hopefully things lighten up a little for you like your friend said.
I enjoyed all the dog and cat stories. A story that stands out in my mind is our now departed mini-dashund 'Lili'. She was what one would kindly term a footstool on legs - she was fairly portly and was a long haired dachs. She reminded me of a Tribble for all of you Star Trek fans. Anyway, I accidentally left the back gate open one morning after letting her out. She was very old and needed to go out early AM or I would have a surprise in the kitchen. ANyway, being the bad mother I am, I went back to sleep. When I went to let her in about an hour later I realized she was gone. She was about 12 at the time and could walk maybe 200 yards without sitting down to rest. She was deaf and pretty much blind. So, I am running down my street, through the park in my jammies yelling for Lili and on the verge of tears. I had awful visions of her getting hit by a car or falling down a ravine. Anyway, after about 45 mins with no luck I returned home. I called the Humane Society and completely lost it on the phone - anyway unfortuantely Lili was not there. Finally as a last resort I called animal control and - you guessed it - she has been picked up. We raced down to the animal control place - a big cement block building. When we went inside it was like doggie jail, huge rotties and pitbulls jumping around their 'cells' and down at the end our Lili - looking up at me like 'what in the name of God am I doing here?!?!' I opened the door and out she paddled, just following along behind me. I spoke to the woman there, and the darn dog had been picked up sitting in front of our neighbours lawn - not 10 feet from our house. :teeth:  Needless to say I was relieved and never did I let her out without making sure all was safe again!!
HAve a great night everyone, talk to you tomorrow.

:wave2: Evening all.....man this has been a crazy  day!!!! Worked until noon, then when I got home DH and I decided to drive to Walmart....which is a decent ride. So we are walking into the store and some guy is walking out with a computer system..in a box...anyway...I guess he must have "forgot" to pay for it....so as we are walking in the person at the door is yelling at him to stop because the sensor was going off. He was almost out the door. Now the whole time he is talking on his cell phone..kept right on talking, came back in and got in line. By now they had paged a manager or head security...after that I dont know what happend. How stupid is that? What are people thinking?
So I just finished dinner and cleaning up...now to relax, I think I may try doing a little cleaning tonight.

Kathy said we must post, so here I am! Don't want to disappoint.
Wow! What a dull day. Didn't feel like doing much. :rolleyes1
DH & I sat in the hot tub while DD napped; then we did watch the Nebraska Husker game -- found it on PPV for $30!!!! DH is more diligent than I!! At least we got our money's worth.
Sure love all your pet stories! Ours are pretty dull! Wyatt(cat) has always had a fascintation with water and he would jump up onto the ledge of our shower door to see what was going on. I also have pictures of him drinking straight from the sink faucet.
Both Doc & Wyatt (I'm a fan of the Wild West!!!) like to bring decapitated "treasures" for us. They used to be able to come and go during the summer months via the basement window, but their privileges were revoked when they brought a live chipmunk into the basement. Luckily, DH & I were able to capture it and get it back outside. Other than that, it's pretty calm here at our house.
Have a great evening!
Cheri
the slumber party is winding down (thank God). It's amazing how much drama eight 7-9 year old girls can conjure up in 18 hours. Kids were up (and thus so we were we because boy are they LOUD) until 4 a.m First ones started getting up before 7 a.m. There are going to be a lot of grumpy girls in our neighborhood later today. DW (the saint) is downstairs cooking breakfast while listen to some "sleepover music" blasting and hear what sounds like girls going through walls, doors and generally sounding like elephants romping in the family room.
I guess I should get ready and go downstairs to help DW deal with it all....
Wish me luck.

Even though I haven't commented directly on each one, love ALL the pet stories! Let's face it, who in here can unwrap a Hershey's Kiss without ripping the wrapper?! :rotfl2: Cheri, my cats were a lot like yours ... one day we found blue jay feathers all up and down our hallway. So it's week 3 of Fantasy Football. Projections have my team to win :smooth:

Hey Jeff ... how 'bout them Buckeyes?? :cool1: Glad to see you made it through the sleep over unscathed!
B!
Shell - Well thank goodness they won. It was sure touch and go for a while, letting those penn staters hang in for WAY too long. As I've said b4, my 2 favorite teams are Pitt and whomever is playing Penn State, so I was wearing the buckeye colors after returning from the Pitt game yesterday!
I'm not sure what we'll hear from Jan this morning after that incredible collapse against the Irish by MSU. Geez Jan, I was even rooting for you guys. You must now know how we felt last week when the Pittsters couldn't stop MSU. So long as your green guys get it together for your late season matchup with PSU, I'm happy.

:sunny: Morning everyone....just got up going to start making some breakfast.
Jeff :thumbsup2 glad to hear you made it through....been there.
Both my kids have winter birthdays. So one year I had this "brain storm" instead of having birthday parties lets wait until the last day of school and have end of school year party. They went to Catholic grade school. Very small class rooms. It was 1 class for each grade. So my DD had 19 kids in her class and my DS had 17. So I let each of them pick a day..Friday and Saturday (yes the same weekend) and they were able to have their whole class over for either a cook out or Piazza. The kids had a blast, however, it was the longest weekend of my life. It was fun and I know the kids enjoyed it. They were a little older than your girls, I believe my daughter was 13 and my son was 11. I have to say, I am glad that thoes days are over. But then I do have those moments where I miss that also. So enjoy them, they grow faster than you think.
Off to my sisters today to discuss the cruise..... :goodvibes  :cheer2: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :dance3:

Howdy everyone,
boy this thread is DEAD today!
I dont have anything to say either so I thought I would post a couple of quotes from Erma Bombeck.
The ladies will appreciate them.
1. My second favorite household chore is ironing. My first being hitting my head on the top bunk bed until I faint.
2. How come anything you buy will go on sale next week?
3. My theory on housework is,
if the item doesnt multiply, smell, catch on fire, or block the refrigerator door, let it be. No one care. Why should you?

Good afternoon Nanas!
We are having a beautiful :sunny: :sunny: day here! The forecast says temps in the upper 60's/lower 70's for the next few days. :cool1: Then back to the mid-50s :sad2: .
Not much going on -- we have a friend over to watch the Bears game and then he and DH will go golfing at the course down the road. I'd like to go shopping (Kohl's always needs my business!), but DD said she DOESN'T want to shop. (I should count my blessings while they last! :rotfl: )
We'll see what happens. It's kinda nice to stay home and relax.
Lynn -- great pictures! JD, glad to hear you survived the party -- get some rest!!!!

Good afternoon all,
Kathy - Erma Bombeck cracks me up!! I borrowed a book of hers from my Aunt when I needed something to read and just loved it!! That sarcastic wit always makes me laugh. :lmao:
Glad to hear everything sounds good with everyone. KAraoke was fun last night, but I swear I am just getting too old. I got home about 2pm and this morning was just a write off. I didn't feel like doing anything. DH took DS out and they are just heading back now. That was great as I could recover in peace and got the house straightened up (another blessing of going out is a house-disaster when I get home LOL) and got through some laundry. God I hate house-cleaning. I am the anti-Martha
To keep you further on the edge of your seat with my thrilling life I now have to boil some eggs for DSs lunch and conjure up a one-pot dinner - I am thinking casserole. :thumbsup2
We went down to a locale costume rental place on Saturday and DH found his pirate outfit. HE is going more Captain Morgan than Jack Sparrow. So, that is pretty much taken care of. I am thinking I will still buy mine off ebay. I just didn't find what I was looking for at the costume rental place and another DISr has recently bought from the same woman I was looking at and she has rave reviews. It is close to the same price to rent (as it would be close to 2 weeks rental) as to buy and I figure I could then have a Halloween costume for life. Plus, I found some prettyt cool pirate wench type shoes at Payless (kind like the 'granny-boot' style) so I will just hope they go on sale and then should be set. I think we are just going to get some raggedy pants for DS and print off some fake tatoos on the computer. He has the medallion from POTC so I am thinking he can be the young Will Tanner.
I am starting to get worried about the amount of luggage we will have - LOL. Oh well, those Port porters sure earn their wage!!! We'll tip them well.
I am also trying to think about getting little things together - like glowsticks and maybe bubbles or something from the dollar store. I also want to pick up a few things to give to Shirley at Perfect Gift so she can put them into a basket for DS. I think I missed my window of opportunity for summer clothes sales up here - they put the fall and winter stuff out SO early. I am hoping, because we have a bit of time down in FL before the cruise that we could maybe pop by a Target (or this mysterious Kohls place you all keep talking about!) if I want some capris or something. I think DH will like Ron JOns and likely find some stuff there. DS is easy and has lots of clothes so I think we are OK there.
Kathy - or others with access to WDW prior to our trip - I am thinking of maybe asking a favour if you are willing. I am thinking of getting on of those Pin Trader starter kits for DS and maybe a few extra pins so he can do some trading with the CMs onboard. I think he is old enough now he would enjoy it. So....if anyone is going to be a MK or DTD before the cruise, maybe would you be willing to pick up a lanyard and a few pins or a kit and I'll pay you back when I see you??? I would really  it - thanks!!
Other than that, I am just trying to make sure everything is organized. I booked the Doubloon in St Maarten but DH is being a little hesitant - he has developed a bit of a phobia of open water and is not sure he is too keen on snorkelling off the boat. I am trying to convince him to face his fear (which he manufactured anyway!!) so...we'll see if we keep that one. Maybe Coral World and Coki Beach is the way to go - oh well, best layed plans as they say LOL.
So, enough of me blabbering - talk to you all soon!

I haven't thought seriously about pirate attire. Maybe tomorrow when we're at the two-month mark I'll start. pirate: Same goes for door signs, actual clothes to pack, etc. :Pinkbounc :bounce:
Well, the Bears pulled out a win! :cheer2: I'll be a Bears fan this year since the Raiders are a lost cause!!!
Back to doing nothing of any real importance! DH is golfing; I am not shopping -- why do today what I can put off till tomorrow? :confused3

Dutchsmommy, sorry I did not see your request in time. Those starter kits are so cute. My kids love theirs.

Thanks Pat. Oh i've already learned about the heart melting AND the wallet. Hey I booked two DCL vacations within four months. And though it's for me too...it was my DD8 and DD2 1/2 whose faces on those last few days of the August cruise had me IMMEDIATELY putting the plan together to get back soon.
We are OFF to try to get the kids to bed (they HAVE to be exhausted because I sure am) and then I get to watch the only show I wait for - the amazing race -- then SLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP for me. I'm off to Chicago tomorrow for a meeting. Hopefully they'll be no sleeping in the airport on this trip. TTFN.

Sarah, sure hope the boiled eggs came out good :lmao:
Jeff and K-E-L-L-Y... an FYI to both you ... I know you're both waitlisted for early seating. I believe that if you request links to Lynn and the early diners, then you will "automatically" get your early seating (for instance, I was able to pull Sarah in from early to late on our links).

The ship pulls out at 5 p.m., however it wont get to two palms cam until somewhere between 5:20 to 5:40. Depending if it gets started on time.
I just start looking about 5:15 and keep refreshing every so often. You will see a couple other ships go out before disney ships go out too.
Shell sent you the horn info so I wont worry about that.
Have a great night everyone, :woohoo:

Busy weekend here but all good. Yesterday we went into New York City to tour the Intrepid Air & Space Museum, visited Chelsea Market (so cool) and played at Chelsea Piers for a while and then had dinner at The Hard Rock Cafe in Times Square - very cool day. Today was Church and then spent the afternoon with family for Mom's b-day.
Shell - it's not me who is waitlisted for dinner. We are all set for early seating. Thanks for thinking of me though. Actually the other night I did have a dream that we weren't scheduled for dinner at all :scared1: LOL

Haven't posted in a while but have been reading. All the stories are great! My mom has been in the hospital for a week now with Sepsis (blood infection) and C-diff (intestinal infection). She has to go to a nursing home for the next week to continue her IV antibiotics. I am a nurse and could administer the antibiotics but medicare won't pay for the med at home-I don't get it!! I could save medicare some money if they would pay for the med at home and not have to pay a nursing home to give it!!!! :confused

Lynn - Thanks for the offer and I'd do it but we are now wondering if we want to keep the late seating. At home we eat dinner between 7 and 8, sometimes later, most nights...so when we went on our first cruise and had the 5:30 p.m. it just seemed SO early. We nearly changed it when we embarked but changed our mind. What I did find out is that changing seatings doesn't seem to be so hard so we are going to keep thinking about it. If I knew I could get the latest early, I'd feel better....but maybe better yet is the earliest late. Well, it was all a conspiracy. It was never intended for us to win that game. If you look at the way we played the previous 2 weeks, and the way we played last night, you have to question it. I mean, our only points were scored by a 46 year old!
Hope everyone is having a great day.
I'm in Chicago today awaiting a client meeting in a couple of hours...then another fun afternoon in the airport. With the change in "liquid rules" I suspect the security lines are going to be fun fun fun as people re-adjust to more rules. The scary part is that when I was flying out yesterday I asked one of the TSA people about the change and he had no idea what i was talking about. Uh-oh..that means that it's going to be fun. It's actually been nice the past few weeks because so few people are carrying on lots of luggage that security lines are shorter and the loading process is quicker. Now we are adding a step with this clear plastic bag screening AND everyone will once again try to bring on board everything they own. Ok - I'm done ranting now. :teeth:
On to a cruise question. Is there anyway to print boarding passes onboard? We are flying Southwest this time and I want to get my precious "A" card since generally flying from Orlando there is no consideration for folks traveling with small children..since everyone is. Does anyone know ?
Have a great Tuesday everybody.

Good luck on the flight out of O'Hare! I feel your pain buddy!
As far as the "A" card on Southwest, I do know that they allow check in online 24 hours in advance, so I would think you could do it on the ship. Good luck!

Bob - Yes I know about the 24 hours...but where do you print it? I only used my laptop last time on the ship and thus didn't use any of the terminals. Is there printer access via the terminals?

JD, when you get to the airport there is a place where you can reprint your boarding pass, so all you have to do is checkin on board then print it at the terminal

Hello everyone, Just checking in and adding some nanas. Life has been crazy this last week. Between doing school with the kids, shuffling them to their activities, picking through their hair, and other calamities of life, I haven't been on the computer much. I tried to catch up on the reading, but didn't have time to post.
I love hearing all the pet stories. I had a couple to share but don't have time right now. We're heading off to field hocky and PE class.

Jeff: Wendy gave you the same suggestion I would have given. I believe that the computers in the Internet Lounge allow you to print for a charge per page, but I would just wait until I got to the airport to do the reprint!
I know why it has been fairly quiet lately, no Mutt and Woo postings! :teeth:

LOL - I know I should have known. I actually launched my own PR/Writing/Marketing Communications consulting firm last October - yep coming up on a year in biz for myself! My travel comes in "clumps" as it seems my clients all want to see me at the same time. And I don't have a single client in the Pittsburgh area. :lmao: Go figure. Good Evening Nana Heads!!!

Lynn - your little guy is so cute. Can't wait to meet him.
Shell, Lynn and Linda -- We (4 of us) are booked for late seating, waitlisted for early. Can we link with the early dinner DISers or do we have to wait until we are onboard and try to switch our dinner time? I'm confused!!! :confused3
Okie -- Hope your mom is doing better. Go figure Medicare and it's strange quirks - - no in home treatment but pay for expensive nursing home care. We've been through this with Dave's mom who has been in a nursing home for almost 2 years.
Wendy -- I'm sure you and other Saints fans are so pumped up! :cheer2: Do you remember a young Saints rookie (2003-2004?) by the name of Spencer Frederick? He's no longer on the team or playing pro ball, but his brother is an attorney in our office.
Lucinda -- Thinking of you and your daughter.
Reading the post by Jeff and a couple others about watching the race on Sunday -- I assume you meant Nascar. Reminds me of our last cruise (9/05), when one of the DISers brought a satellite radio and a bunch of us met on the 7th secret deck to listen to the race that weekend.
Ralph's World -- Do any of you moms or dads know who he/they are? I'm going with my daughters and 4 gks to see him/them in Ann Arbor in early December. I'll have to find out in advance what/who he/they are.
I've been getting more Christmas shopping done. Went to Gymboree last night and told the salesperson that I was on a "mission". Six outfits - one for each of my six grandkids. I was able to get a lot of the clothes on sale and I'll give my DD the Gymboree bucks.
Have a great evening everyone!

LOL Jan - You really couldn't be further from the truth. i am definitely NOT a nascar fan. Had to work the auto racing circuit very early in my career as a young PR guy and let's just say i didn't grow to love it. But to each his own. The one thing I will say about NASCAR in particular is that they have really done a solid marketing job, especially over the past 5-10 years. I was talking about the TV Show "the Amazing Race" on CBS. :)

Jeff -- the LOL is on me! I admit my knowledge of TV shows is zero. I'm a news junkie. I can't sit long enough to watch a TV show or I fall asleep during the show. I'm not a Nascar fan nor do I watch Nascar races, but it was cool to be sitting on a deck chair on the Magic, gazing at the stars in the ocean listening to Nascar. I agree, Jeff, Nascar has had successful and profitable marketing.

Well I know its late, but DH was running a virus scan. So that delayed me getting on.
Had a really crappy afternoon at work. Some patient called my supervisor to complain about me.... :confused3 Oh well, I did nothing wrong he didnt want to take responsible for his mistake & was trying to blame it on his 4 year old and me. Now when a 46 year old man tries and puts the blame on a 4 year old.....what the heck is up with that? :confused3
Watching dancin with the stars....boy did they give Mario a bad review....I thought he was good, but then again, I'm not a dancer nor do I know the rules.

Jan - i'm the same way. I'm a former journalist so when I have the tv on and the kids aren't around, news is what I am watching (unless Pitt is on playing basketball). The Amazing Race is actually the ONLY Tv show I make a point to watch because it is almost like a travelogue from around the world. I actually record it if I'm not around.

Jan, yeah we are pretty excited down here. We needed that win and it being against Atlanta only made it sweeter(sorry Bob) :cool1: . It was so strange coming home from work that afternoon and driving through the neighborhood, and we have quite alot of FEMA trailers still, seeing everybody outside with the TV's on getting ready for pregame. Gotta love the south. :thumbsup2

Kathy - that dinner sounded amazing! Hope it was really good.
Wendy - Did I read your post right - TVs outside?? Do they just pick them up and move them to the porch? And why is FEMA still there, I imagined it would be more construction and stuff....sorry to sound like such a dim bulb!
Count us in as un-Nascar fans - we just aren't into it...although we really want to see Talladega (sp?) Nights. DH just installed Torrent - not sure if anyone uses it - downloading movies etc? Anyway, it seems pretty cool. DS was watching Cars this morning before school. I think we can just load one of the movies onto a jump drive and DS can watch itin the car on my laptop on the way to school. I want to buy a portable DVD player (we had a player built in to the old car (minivan ugh!) but don't have one in the new car but I have just been to cheap to buy one - even though you can get one up here for about $120.
Just finished watching House - God I love that show :teeth: Ian Lorrie cracks me up. I don't get to watch too much TV either - just House if I can catch it and CSI when I can. We even have PVR (like Tivo) and I am thinking of cancelling because I really havn't used it - other than to record the WEGs (World Equestrian Games) last month because the person who owns the barn I ride at was riding. Oh well....life is just so busy.
Had a few leads on the job hunt. It is just such a bad time of year - our fiscal year end is Oct 31 so everyone is finalizing their investment plan for 2007 right now and nobody knows for sure how much $$ they will have to spend on resources. Once Nov 1 rolls around and everybody has $$ again all is well...but until then I am kinda in limbo. Oh well, I'll get a new job and then leave for a week and a half vacation just 3 weeks in - nice  Oh well....it wasn't my idea to cancel my darn project anyway - $80MM down the drain :guilty: OK, enough work-based ranting!
Denise - sorry to hear about your day. That seems so strange!! Some people really shouldn't be parents! Hope your supervisor was on your side!
Jan - I have never heard of 'Ralph's World' - sorry! Kinda strange as I am pretty hip on all things pre-school LOL :confused3
Hope everyone has a great night - tomorrow is our project wrap up party (the wake as we are calling it  ) so it should be a pretty easy day at work (although I will have to watch my sarcastic mouth and make sure I do NOT drink any wine or I may experience a career limiting move :rotfl: ).
Nighty-night

Just sitting here waiting to go to my Dr. appt for the big weigh-in ... wish me luck!
Jeff, you and I are in the same line of work. I'm a Marketing Manager and cover the gamut of responsibilities from communications, events, collateral development, pricing analysis, project management, etc. But what I really love is Market Research and Situation Analysis. So hey, if you need any of that done, let me know! :thumbsup2
My Fantasy Football Team, Bad Hat Harry, is now 2-1! :woohoo: I have the 2nd highest points in the league right now and am on a 2-game winning streak. Donavan McNabb is keeping me out of the cellar! This week's projections have me winning again, so let's hope this year I wind up higher than last place! (SARAH: Trivia question for you ... who/what is Bad Hat Harry?)
DWTS: Man, Mario and Joey really got slammed last night by the judges! I think they need some valium or something. :lmao: Oh, Jamie??? Where are you??? :rotfl:
Jan: From what I'm hearing, you may be able to switch to early seating once you're on the ship. However, if you link to Lynn et al now, you should be "guaranteed" early (I use the term guaranteed loosely as I don't want to misrepresent myself).
Sarah: I once worked for a division of a multi-national corporation. Though we were not the largest division, we were the most profitable by far. A new CEO comes in and guess what he does? Shuts us down. DUH! I feel your pain!
Linda, if you're anything like me without sleep, then everything today will be in slow-motion and looking like a Salvatore Dali painting :lmao:

Lynn,
I wouldn't worry too terribly much about the sleeping thing (unless, of course, you're eternally sleep deprived! :surfweb: ). I remember also freaking out that our DD didn't sleep through the night "right away" and feeling the same way you do.
I think sometimes we parents are led to believe there's an exact way things have to be done and if our child doesn't behave in that exact same manner there's something wrong with the kid or the parents.
Your DS seems like he's a happy, well-adjusted little guy. You can take him out with you on errands & social functions. I wouldn't sweat the sleep thing!! I did read a great book -- The Baby Whisperer -- which focuses on determing your baby's "personality" and then how best to deal (for lack of a better word. You'd never guess I was an English major! :rotfl: ) with each personality type. It also gives tips about taking small steps to "correct" certain issues like sleeping.
Next time you hear people bragging about their kids sleeping through the night, say, "My DS likes to get up every night :woohoo: :woohoo: " in a tone that implies THAT'S the normal thing. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
Good luck!

His production company, Bad Hat Harry Productions, produces House and works in television, film, and video game media. It is named after a line from Jaws, one of his favorite films. The line, "That's some bad hat, Harry", is heard over the company's end credit animation.

Lucinda,
it seems that 8 in kinda young, but if it makes her happy I see no harm in it. My girls were 11 or right around there when they started wearing training bras. I think it is a big social thing with the girls, they want to brag to their friends that they have one. I dont evny you when the teen years come along, that is when I wanted to run away and make the kids stay home!! :rotfl2:
I would gladly raise 10 boys instead of one girl!!
Lynn,
My first girl didnt sleep through the night until she was almost 3. The next 3 kids were around 2 when they finally started sleeping through the night. Doctor said there was nothing wrong, they would sleep if they needed it and not to worry. To make matters worse with my first one, she never napped during the day after the first month to 6 weeks.
I thought i would NEVER get to leep through the night again my entire life!!
I am starting to feel intimidated by all you executive types here, :lmao: I am just a country girl!! I grew up sitting on the front porch on the carnation milk box singing Red River Valley, You are my Sunshine, and The Big Rock candy Mountain. A big weekend out was going camping, hiking, fishing and maybe a rodeo when we were lucky. I even tried wild cow milking one night. :rolleyes1
Guess I'd better start working on my vocabulary and manners before we meet, you may want to throw me overboard!!! :dance3:
have a great day everyone,

'Executives' may make the big bucks, but they too, pay a price for their choices - they have to wear power suits and attend meetings. Dollars to donuts, they lug work home in briefcases.
As a technician, I don't make as much, but I get to wear jeans, comfy shoes and skip most meetings. I can go home at night and forget my work.
I'm thinking I'm pretty well off!

Lynn: My DD and I just had this conversation on Saturday. Her 2.5 DS sometimes still wakes up at night. Her 3 mo. DD is sleeping long stretches at night. She said that she would feel terrible at mom's group as it seemed her child was the only one not sleeping through the night. When my 35 year old DS was an infant, I read in Dr. Spock's book that newborns usually sleep approx. 20 hours a day. Not my kid!!!
Have a great afternoon everyone.

Okay ladies, remember, there are certain topics which the men folk prefer not to have discussed in great detail. These topics will send us in to convulsion, shock, and worst of all....running around with our fingers in our ears yelling "I can't hear you, I can't hear you!!!!". So, when these topics are broached in mixed company, all questions should be phrased so that the required answer only requires a Yes or No, and no excessive details should be shared!

You have to understand, consultants are not executives. We do consulting work so that we can come into a company, tell them how badly they have messed stuff up, give them a textbook answer on how to do it, and leave quickly before they realize we just told them the same thing their line employees have been telling them for years. Then, we go on DCL cruises while they get ulcers and send their family on vacation by their self. And we charge them handsomly for this privilege! :thumbsup2

Sorry it took me so long to reply but we are busy at work today.
Sarah, FEMA is not here any more but about 76% of the city are still living in FEMA issued trailers. And they are VERY small. So alot of people treat it like camping and sit on the front lawn with extension cords coming out the windows of the trailers.
Gotta get back to work will post later

Me as well. I have one client that, when I am at corporate headquarters only, I have to have on a tie. And when I got them, I actually got concerned that I was going to have to go out and buy new ties and slacks because I didn't know if I could find mine. I am typically in khakis and Polo-type shirts.

Hey, just because some of us are forced to work in the "Corporate World" doesn't mean we like the dress code! Given the choice I'd rather be in jeans everyday. I've never understood company's that insist on guys wearing ties (like the one I work for). I mean, if you're a lawyer or in another profession where you have clients coming in the office on a regular basis and you're charging out the nose, well then maybe it makes some sense. But especially with where I work, we just don't get those kinds of visitors. So it SUCKS! But at least us gals have a lot more leeway when it comes to "corporate dress" policies. And as for me ... well let's just say that I like to see how far I can bend the rules (I know, you're all SHOCKED  ! Can't believe that's really how I am ... :rotfl2: ) As for YOU, Bob ... I'm just insanely jealous of the way you described your job :worried:
OK ... so ... wow, we're really on a countdown now, aren't we? :woohoo: ! Can almost see the light at the end of the gangway :goodvibes:
Cheri: I'm a huge fan of The Office! The whole Pam/Jim thing has me on the edge of my seat (what a cutie he is, huh?). In fact, I've taken a few helpful hints from the show as well. A couple of months ago, I "stole" another girls' stapler here in the office and took it home, made a bunch of yellow jello, put the stapler inside, and left it on her desk one Monday morning :rotfl2:. I cannot properly describe the hilarity that ensued, but I had people from all over the office stopping over at her desk just to see it, and it was a riot (that is, until she had to clean the stapler out in the lunch room. Apparently, it's harder to clean out than you would think! And yet I was finding bits and pieces of yellow jello all over the place :rotfl: ). She still says she's gonna get me back, but I'm not worried :smooth: .

Are you friends with the vending machine filler? You could always put desk items in there!
I think I like how they added the other office to the mix. I was wondering how the Jim/Pam thing would work out -- so far this adds to the plot.
Being the bad parent I am, DD has watched almost every episode of the show. I told her she couldn't recite quotes from the show at school, especially after I heard her say, "Downsizing is a B***H!" I could've died of mortification right there. :rolleyes1 Luckily we were home and no one else heard her.

I have to jump into this conversation, not to be Dwight like, but have you guys seen the British version on public TV? They run it here late at night on Sat. right before Monty Python. It is hilarious. I didn't think it could be any funnier than our version but it is, I feel like an idiot laughing at 11 at night by myself. Interestingly enough it looks like the Dwight equivalent is played by the guy from POTC that has the fake eye.

Good afternoon Nanas!
Kathy - Great pictures! The dogs look so sweet & innocent! I think those old covered bridges are so neat. We went to see the actual Bridges od Madison County in Iowa. Apparently they were having a real problem with vandals at one point.
I like seeing the "real" places where movies were filmed. Our office is about a block from where Groundhog Day was filmed.
Speaking of dress codes -- we are pretty relaxed in our office (It's really just DH & me -- we have another assistant who works about 10-15 hours/wk). We're in the insurance business and we have a lot of walk-ins, but since many of our clients are farmers and "non-executive-types," we try not to look too stuffy. So far, I don't think we've lost any business because of being down-to-earth people. :confused3
Better get back to work (at home now). Then it's time to prep for DWtS! :rotfl:
Talk to you later!

P.S. Eight does seem young for the under garment items previously mentioned (is that better Bob??!! :bitelip: ). No, I haven't seen the British version. I remember always seeing previews for it on BBC America, but I never sat down to watch. Maybe I'll do a search to see if we can get it here.
I'm surprised by the success of the American version, since usually spin-offs of British hits don't make it. I've been watching this since day one, kind of rooting for it to make it! :thumbsup2

Good Afternoon. I think I've finally caught up reading, but now I can't remember what I wanted to say to everyone. Oh Well.
I love the Amazing Race. I don't watch much TV, especially since i started digital scrapbooking. I didn't realize it had started already. I tuned in this Sunday thinking it was the 1st episode. I was so mad when I realized it wasn't. Definately some interesting competitors this year.
I started watching The Office on BBC America well before the American show started. I even had my dh hooked. I laughed so hard I cried everytime I watched it. I do like the NBC version. It's the only sitcom I watch regularly.
I did start watching Dancing with the Stars but only because DH started first. He has a thing for Sara Evens. :rolleyes1 Once she's gone we probably won't watch anymore.
Those dogs are so cute. I think one of them was smiling in the picture.
Lynn, in the long run it really won't matter when your son starts sleeping through the night. It seems like they grow so quickly, I wish I could spend a few more nights with my kids as babies. I am probably not the best to give sleeping advice though. All three of our kids slept with us until they were at least 2. We never used a crib. I was told by lots of people they would have horrible sleeping problems. But they all sleep like bricks. We even had the smoke alarms go off one night and had to wake the kids up (scary).
Hope everyone has a great evening. I have to play a quick game of cards, take my oldest to Girl Scouts and cook dinner. Then I hope to scrap one more page tonight.

You think you're competitive, this summer we created the Amazing Race disney style to play while we were there in June. It was the kids versus my sister and I the plan was to let them win but put on a good show. The loser had to sing for she's or he's a jolly good fellow at beaches and cream. Needless to say that never happened we got so into it that we were in hysterics racing against the kids and worse even we won and made them sung to us. :lmao:

Anyhow: Kathy the dogs are soooo cute.
Cindilu: I got my DD her "undergarment" at age 10. There is a cute story that goes with this..if she found out I told everyone this she would not be really happy with me :furious: but hey.....she dosent read these boards and she is like a million miles away so here goes:
We get her the training bra its summer. So DH gets home from work and I tell him we got her the bra and she is wearing it...make some comment to her.We are in the kitchen she is sitting at the table, DH say's Heather, do you have your swim suit on under your clothes? She stands up faces him, pulls up her shirt and say's This is a bra not a swim suite..the look on Wally's face was priceless.... :rotfl:
Anyway, if her friends are starting to get them, she may just want to fit in.
I will be back later and try and make up for lost time.

What a crazy day...I've been running since 8:45 this morning. Long day including a dentist visit for a cleaning - uugghh!
Cindilu...my DDalmost 11) kind of started to (ahem...Bob stop reading now....) "develop" a little early and quite honestly she looks a heck of a lot better with one on then without one. She started waering one when she turned 9 and I feel it was necessary. Ok...enough of THAT conversation :rolleyes1
Lynn - I agree with everyone else - this too shall pass - and I will tell you that we went thru something VERY similar with our DD. It was like clockwork...every other night she would wake up. Many nights my DH laid on the living room couch and she went to sleep on his belly. I was NOT a friendly person to be around...I need my sleep. Hang in there!
I'm not an executive or a country girl....just a stay at home Mom who never seems to be at home! I'm always running somewhere or doing something! I used to help run a small family business and I loved it but I enjoy being a Mom and having the opportunity to be home. However...I'm still trying to figure out what I want to be when I grow up!!
Have a great night everyone!

OK one more pic before we leave for school, this is our dog Disney. He's 2 and very spoiled, the other cocker spaniel in the pic is my sisters dog, this is when we were leaving after Hurricane Katrina had hit. My sister took my DS when she left on Saturday and my DH had the 2 dogs at my parents hotel with him while I was at the hospital. My sisters dos passed away earlier this year he didn't do well following the storm and was never quite right once they finally got home. But on a cheerier note isn't disney the cutest dog everrrrrr :goodvibes

:thumbsup2 We went to see the Blue Man Group :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: last night and it was a pretty late evening. We're all shot.
Jamie, how was the show? I watched the video of their "concert" show on PBS a few weeks back. It was a lot of fun. They are coming to Atlanta soon, but I missed the opportunity to get tickets.
Ladies: You are doing much better about the topics being discussed and not providing TMI for the guys. There was a slip or two, but I know that you will continue to improve!
Linda: The number of posts is my doing. It is my competitive nature to set goals, and I threw out the 4,000 post goal by the cruise. I don't even want to try and keep up with the blabbermouths. They talk too much! :lmao:
Love the pictures from everyone, especially the furry children! Keep 'em coming.

Steve, I've never seen the British version either, but I believe that I read somewhere that the actors from that version will be guest starring throughout the season on ours. Also, I noticed your reference to Monty Python, so I ask you ...
What is your name?
What is your quest?
What is the air-speed velocity of an unladen swallow? :happytv:

I haven't watched Monty Python in years and just found it the same night I found the Office, I've only just started "re-watching" it.
I've tried on several occasions to get Esther to watch the Life of Brian or Holy Grail with me and she refuses.
One of the funniest skits I think I've ever seen though is the Comfy Chair. They threaten to put the guy in this horrible device if he doesn't give them what they want, he's all scared, and they say off to the comfy chair, and it's a big over stuffed chair, all the while the guys screaming no not the comfy chair!
My sister and I start screaming that if it looks like we are about to get into trouble with a family member and they all just look at us. We are the only 2 in our family that appreciate that type of humor.

Hey Bob,
I was wondering the same thing as Shell,
Who are the big blabbermouths?? :confused3
Before you answer i suggest you give it some deep thought, because remember less than 2 months and you will be face to face with the people on this board!!!

Good mornin' Nanas!
I'm just doing my part!
Wendy -- great pictures! Disney looks soooo sweet! :thumbsup2
Well, Jerry survived another week. He must be getting fewer votes than in the first weeks -- his judges' score was higher than before and yet still in the bottom two. I'm thinking the final four will be Monique, Vivica, Joey and Mario. The women may have the edge because they follow the rules. :confused3 I can't believe I'm still watching this show!
Later!

You're not alone, Kathy. I grew up in the country too, and I know those songs!
I'm also one of "those" country girls!! Grew up on a farm and now live less than 1/4 mile from my parents! We have corn fields in our back yard and right across the road from us.
Even though it's a bit of a pain to have to drive 25 miles one way to work, it's all open driving and ONE stoplight. I wouldn't change a thing! :thumbsup2 We clean up pretty good so we shouldn't embarrass anyone on the cruise! :lmao: :lmao:

She was a bit star-struck last summer when we went to Cinderella's Breakfast at MK, but was very "cool" when she saw them all again a few days later on the Wonder. princess:

OK, is it me, or is page 199 extremely long??!!
I've been trying to bump us to 200, but to no avail. I'm finally going to give up and get on with my day.
It is a nice :sunny: day, but cool. DH has "given" me the day off so I can :moped: to town and do some shopping. :woohoo:
Must return some things at Kohl's, then on to Target and the grocery store. :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc
Have you seen the preview for tonight's episode of The Office? Looks like Jim will meet up with Dwight, Michael and company. Will Jim & Pam meet face-to-face for the first time since  :lovestruc ????
Will Michael and Jan Levinson-Gould (no, no Gould) finally hook up again?? :lovestruc
Perhaps we'll order out Baby Back Ribs, Awesome Blossom, and margaritas from Chili's. If it gets too funny, I may have Awesome Blossom coming out my nose! :happytv: :rotfl2:

Oh - when we went to Cinderella's dinner after the cruise, the Cinderella at the Grand Floridian told her she loved her too when she said the same thing. But the real hit was Prince Charming. Emily sat on his lap, gave him a hug, everything that she was nearly too shy for all hte other characters, except for Cinderella. When she found out he was Cinderella's husband...oh my was she thrilled.

Yes, the office looks to be good tonight. I can't wait.
I have painters here right now painting my foyer. It's 2 stories high and we've been wanting to have it painted for 4 years. We finally got around to calling someone out. It's a fairly small area so I'm hoping it won't take too long. I'm upstairs doing school with the kids. They are feeling a little trapped since I won't let them go downstairs.
I watched the interview on 20/20 last night with Terri Irwin and cried like a baby. I didn't watch the Dancing results, but saw what happened on Good Morning America. I thought Jerry would be gone for sure. He must have a big fan base to keep him around. I did expect Harry to be better than he has been though.
I'm going to see if I can post some pictures. I haven't done it before so wish me luck.

For those of you that get to spend your day in scrubs, I am SO jealous. I've been telling Bill (you remember him, don't you?) that I want some scrubs to bum around the house in. There's a place around the corner from us that sells them, but our BIL is the head of the Cleveland Clinic's Breast Cancer Center, so I think some Cleveland Clinic scrubs would be much cooler! :smooth:
Jeff, Those little ones of yours are such cuties! LOVE the Cinderella story ... what a great actress!
And of course little Disney, the spoiled puppy-dog made me smile this morning!
So, again ... um Linda? WHO are these blabbermouths you were referring to??? :rolleyes1

This is my dog Max. She is doing well lately. Although today she is not happy about being outside while the painters are here. Her tumor got very small for a while and now it is growing again. We still have no idea how long she will be with us, but are happy for every day we get.
