Mornin' Nanas & Turkeys!

Just saying "Hi" and keeping us bumped up.

It's supposed to be a :sunny: day here. Sure could use it after all the rain we got around here over the weekend.

Well, off to work -- gotta help pay for that cruise since my running obviously isn't going to cut it! :rotfl2:

Have a great day!

Jeff: Given your preference for college football, guess I won't be able to egg you on with the whole "PITTSBURGH SUCKS" that is every Browns fan's anthem, huh? :rotfl:
The Browns have fans? Heck, I didn't even know if they were still in the NFL. I thought they had been sent down to the Canadian League! :lmao:

Thank goodness for college ball, since I live in the town with the WORST team ever the Saints. Now ya'll can try to watch your teams on sailaway but LSU is playing Arkansas on CBS that day so I'll have to use my southern charm to get the channel on that game.

Shell, thanks for the flashback now "I come to you with open arms" is stuck in my head repeating over and over. I can see myself with big hair and the flashdance leggings singing right along.
Who is Sunny in St Thomas we don't have any excursions planned for here yet and was wondering what we should do.

Ron, first round on you : :cool1: make my  daiquiri frozen :rotfl2:

Good Morning Nana Heads,
It's a nice cool day here in NY. Just came back from the Doctor's with DS and he is 13lbs 2 ozs and in great health ;) ;) !! The in-laws are coming for lunch today. Gotta go straighten up before they arrive :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc .

Cheri: Happy Birthday :bday: :bday: :bday: :bday:

We will be playing our biggest rivalry of the year the day we embark....University of Georgia. I doubt if I will see the game. Since it is being played at UGA, it will probably be an afternoon game. ABC normally picks the game up, but we will just have to wait and see.

So, who will you be pulling for in the ND vs. PSU game this weekend?

No question ND. My two favorite teams are Pitt and whoever is playing Penn State  Final game in Pitt-PSU series -- Pitt 12 PSU 0

Shell - I am a fair weather fan when it comes to pro sports so while I'll celebrate the Steeler's Super Bowl win, I won't sweat it when they lose (don't you just hate people like me?) The sport I am obsessive over is college hoops. I even have an affinity in Ohio as I went to graduate school at O.U.! Go bobcats!

LindaBabe

Back from Ohio - I see you've been busy in our absence! Sure was a damp weekend, but we had a very nice time. Woogal, are you named for the wonderful WOO ice cream? Visited the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the rainforest at the zoo, and rode Lolly, the trolley. Can't WAIT to go back!

Looks like my dh will meet plenty of kindred spirits on the cruise - he's way into college ball too - doesn't even hardly watch the pros.

How many days out are we now? Guess I ought to think about some reservations for after the cruise.

Hey guys, sorry i haven't talked a lot recently. School is really getting to me. :furious: Makes the cruise seem all the more sweeter!

I see that mom x4, grandma x4 is going on the DCL soon. Give us all the details! Have fun!

Did anyone get hit by the depression last weekend? We did. Not too bad though. There was shreded leaves and stuff everywhere! My neighbor's small greenhouse was knocked over and drug to our side yard. Quite the storm!

Say hi to my mom (J&C's Mom) for me! :wave2: :wave2: :wave2:

Hey Linda, glad to you back with us. Sounds like you enjoyed the trip, although knowing some of the residents up there, I have to wonder! ;)

Joel: That's okay about not posting too much. Focus on school. It is more important now, and in the future. Talking to us crazies will just make you crazier!

Hope everyone is having a great day. Things seem to have quieted down this afternoon. You must be like me and trying to catch up on what you didn't do for reading the boards this morning.

 Hey, somebody get me a hammer. Where did that come from?

Hi Joelidol,

I wish I was going again before this cruise, :goodvibes but you must of read the date wrong. I just got back from an 8/5 trip on the Magic. ;)
If you go back to page 117 to post 1752 you will find my trip report. It takes 3 or 4 posts on that page, also on page 120 I have a few pictures posted and a few with Captain Jack Sparrow somewhere between those pictures and this page.
We got nothing from the depression!!! I was hoping for some rain, but we got 0.
Hope you like the report.

Good Evening Nana Heads!!!

Shell -- Can Sunny handle 8 of us crazy DISers in one day!!! He may give up his business after we are dropped off at the ship. What fun that will be. You will definitely get your money's worth from Sunny.

DH Dave has season football tickets to Michigan State. Go Green! Go White!
We also like our Mountaineers (WVU) -- sorry Jeff! With our kids/grandkids living in Morgantown, we take advantage of getting to the stadium for football or seeing a basketball game or two each season.

Question for you late fall/winter repeat cruisers -- what time does it get dark in the islands in late November? DH Dave was wondering that the other day. I told him it doesn't matter. We're on DCL cruise time. I reminded him there are no clocks to be found in the common areas of the ship.

Have a great evening. Thankfully, the weekend is almost here.

Good Morning Nana Heads.

I know what you young moms mean about your kids already in middle school or finishing middle school. I freaked, big time, when my oldest graduated from high school. Where did the time go? He was just in kindergarten, right? Anyway, my oldest has been out of high school for 17 years!!!! He received his masters from Rutgers 11 years ago! I know, you're thinking Jan must be REALLY old! Young at heart, though!

Have a great day!

Jan: I'm right there beside you! Your son must be 34, right?
You young ones with younger children, enjoy it. Before you know it you'll be wishing for these moments back, yes, even the bad ones. Behind every bad one there are several happy ones.
Remember: Grandchildren are God's gifts to parents because they didn't kill their children!

What does "Sonny" do?
Linda: According to what Woogal found out, they pick you up at the ship and take you downtown for shopping. They then take you on a sightseeing tour of the island, then to one of the beaches for a little bit of beach time (only an hour or so), and then you return to the ship. I think it is costing us $25 per person to do this tour. By far, the cheapest excursion on St. Thomas.

Morning everyone,
I am right there with you moms and grandmoms!!! I cant believe I have a grandchild who is a sophomore in high school this year !!! YIKES!!!

we are all in the same board here, good thing we're not as old as ourkids and grandkids think. Mine always asked what it was like to ride in a covered wagon?? Grandkids ask about if it was scary walking 10 miles to school each day while avoiding all the dinosaurs??

Hope everyone is having a great week,

Pat and Kathy: Aren't grandkids the best!!!??? Just love them so much.

Linda: Sunny's tour is $30 per person this year, plus optional tip. His website is sunnylistontours.com He has two pick up times at the ship -- 9am and 10am.; head to downtown for shopping; 12 noon pick up for a 1.5 tour of island with a stop at Mountain Top; approx. 1-2 hours at a beach -- last year we had our choice of Coki or Sapphire. We picked Sapphire as it was less croweded. Lots of music and laughs on his tour.

Gotta get back to work!

Kids got off to school today without a hitch...they both seemed excited to go :woohoo:

I went to my Jazzercise class and will head out shopping shortly...by myself...totally and completely unencumbered!!! Honestly though I do try to appreciate the time with my kids...I know it goes by too fast. But I do enjoy some "Me time" too!

Disneediva - I don't even want to think about High School yet

Sonny's tour sounds really good. Ahem...which Island is that on??? I just might have to sneak on that one :rolleyes1

Lynn - we are in NJ. I am LOVING this weather right now!!!

I hope everyone has a great day!

Hello Banana Heads

First things first ... HUGE sale at www.swimsuitsforall.com , some stuff as low as $1.98 (I saw a pair of crops for that price!).

Linda ... this weekend is going to be sunny every day and highs of 75-80! Sorry for the weather last weekend ... it sucked! I was miserable. And Bob? Linda came to Ohio cause she knows where the classy people are that speak without an accent! :teeth:

Denise: WOOHOO!!! :woohoo: Nice job talking Wally into belting one out! Can't wait to hear all our boys singing all us gals love songs on the ship :rotfl: (gosh, maybe we should ask the boys at some point about all this :lmao: )

Jan: Sunny has 8 of us now? Um, I think that it may be 13 or 15 from what I'm hearing :listen: . Think we'd better warn HIM? :rotfl2:

Kelly ... Walk Like an Egyptian was just plain mean  . Here ... try this on for size: Everybody have fun tonight, everybody Wang Chung tonight. :rolleyes1

Wendy, are you wearing your Madonna outfit for formal night or semi-formal? :lmao:

Linda, I e-mailed you a bunch of stuff about Sunny. Does anyone else want it? It's the e-mails I've sent back and forth with him. FYI, he has limited space (I think he said 30-35 people total), so if you want in with him, you'd need to reserve soon.

Kathy? Banana count, please!

Have a great hump-day everyone!

DH is a "Domer" so I can't help myself in saying "GO IRISH!" Can't wait to watch the ND-Penn State game on Saturday! LOVE the College Football!

Shell - I'd like to see the Sunny stuff as well. Is it an appropriate tour for those of us with kids? We've been to St. John before - we LOVE it there - but DD nearly 3 can't go on the DCL excursions so we are going to skip that this time and thought this tour of STT might be fun. I checked out Sunny's website and it looks like a perfect mix of shopping/wandering the town, sightseeing and beach time. But I am curious as to if it is ok for kids. (ours love shopping, riding on buses and the beach, so I thought this'd be fun).
Thanks!

School was fine, thanks for asking. I joined a club today called the Model UN (you might have heard of it from your local school). Seems a bit cut-throat. We talked about past events, such as Hezbollah and Israel. Every statement I made was shot down by another question I couldn't answer. :guilty:

There's about seventy or so people in the club :grouphug: , but I'm glad to be there.

Spanish III is muy dificil (very hard) in my perspective, but its very fun too.
AP US is intimidating as well, but looking forward to the 1900s (I'm learning about the early 1720s right now).

Jeff: On our Sunny Liston tour last year, there were a couple of kids. When we are picked up at noon after morning shopping, the Island tour lasts about 1.5 hours -- about 30 minutes of that is at Mountain Top -- restrooms, bar, food, shops, beautiful view, etc.; then Sunny took some people to Coki and the rest of us went to Sapphire. By the way, Sunny doesn't collect his fee until we return to the ship. If anyone is thinking about touring with Sunny, you might want to contact him ASAP as he is limited to a certain number of guests. Sunny's competitor - Godfrey -- also does similar tours. We picked up some Godfrey guests at one of the ships on our way to shop.

Jeff: Doesn't Michigan State play Pitt next season? We'll have to have a friendly wager on that game.

Pat: My oldest turns 35 on 9/11. My daughters are 33.

By the way, it's a beautiful day in mid-Michigan today.

I think your Model UN club would be fun and quite a challenge for everyone.
I never made it through spanish 3. Spanish 2 was as far as I went. Speaking it was ok, but when we started having to learn all the sentence structures and write it all down on paper, that was too much for me!!!! :rolleyes1

HI All,

Sorry I havn't posted in a while. DS started JK today (*sniff*). All went really well I think. He basically won't tell me how his day went - which is nothing new as he played this game in pre-school as well. I can just imagine what it will be like when he is a teen if he won't talk to me now LOL! He is in a private school which is completely french speaking. AS you might know, french is the second official language up here and I think if we can get him started on the right foot it will open doors in the future (at least that's my hope!!). The nice thing about his school is the class size is very small - there are 9 children in his class. I like that he will get alot of individual attention. Plus he looks really cute in his uniform LOL! Anyway, we are going to be perpetually poor for the forseeable future, but hey - what else is new LOL.

In regards to the Canadian football put-down - I don't have much of a rebutal as unfortunately it does stink. We do have our fans up here, but I am not one of them. I am a Packers fan (stop booing now!!!) and really enjoy the NFL.

Does anyone remember a band in the 80's called Platinum Blond??

Ok...I sorta skiped the 80's to some degree. Thoes were my "baby years" having and raising them, so I guess I didnt get into the music that much...so I'm a little lost on some of these songs. However, I do remember the "big hair" :) so who will be wearing their favorite 80's hairdo? :smooth:

Nothing else going on here tonight just sitting here and watching and trying to keep these  dogs under control. They are driving me nuts....this will be a very loooonnnnggg year.

Does anyone remember the Flock of Sea Gulls??? Got to love that guy's hair in that video!!! Gosh I loved the '80's-my only regret was I never got to see Journey-Steve Perry in those tight jeans with all that hair--WOW :woohoo:

Have a great night!

This is for everyone but more specifically, its directed to someone who recently said "stop the insanity!" Does ANYONE here remember Cheers? (yep, a very 80's tv show). Anyone remember the song Woody created for his girlfriend, uh,....KELLY? I believe it went something like "Kelly, Kelly, Kelly, Kelly, K-E-L-L-Y....why?????".....you can fill in the rest.....
enjoy...

Ok, that's just cruel. I had a friend that I used to work with who LOVED to sing that song to me. I have to admit, I haven't heard that in a while - thanks for reminding me.

"Wendy: My thoughts ... depends on the Madonna era for formal night ... Will it be the "Lucky Star" era? "True Blue"? "Papa Don't Preach" (you need really bushy dark eyebrows to pull that off)? "

Shell, I was thinking more along the lines of lucky star since I plan on having a touch up on the roots before the cruise. Plus all I need to do is dig way deep in the closet and pull out the outfits I wore when we used to lip sync at the clubs.... now be afraid very afraid..... :rotfl:

Morning Nana Heads!

Just thinking of several friends of mine who are on this week's Magic. In about 2 hours, they'll be docking at CC. Wish I were there today......

Ok Jeff -- your team wins, I buy you a drink; my team wins, you buy me a drink. OK?

I am not familiar with a lot of 80s music. Does anyone remember the great music of the 60s? The infamous Woodstock was during the Boomers' years.

Have a great Friday!!! I'm getting my precious Alyssa (the one who's been on the Wonder twice) for the weekend. She is in a new school this year, and her aide, who has been with her for 4 years, got hired at the new school. She was thrilled.

Jan,
I'm with you, the `60's I remember and the early 70's. :goodvibes There were some AWESOME bands then!!! :thumbsup2 Some pretty bad ones too. :sad2:
I have an old phone book that I pasted hundreds of pictures of groups back then and I still have lots of 45 and 78's although I have no way to play them. :guilty:
For you young folks 45 and 78's were the original versions of CD's!! :rotfl2:

Hope everyone is having a great friday!!!

:bday: Denise! (It is today, right??)

Ah -- the 80's!! :thumbsup2 How about "Don't Worry, Be Happy"? I think that was from the very late 80's. Of course, you can't forget all the Michael Jackson songs -- Billie Jean, Beat It, Thriller!! :lmao: Also, I noticed Kohl's is having an 80's revival with Candies brand clothes. Perhaps we should all stock up for 80's night! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Shell -- good luck with the Fantasy Football! Good friends of ours are from Massachusetts and always go to a Patriots game or two each year. :thumbsup2

Nebraska plays Colorado on the Friday after Thanksgiving and I think we should be to our hotel by the start of the game. :cheer2: :cheer2: Hopefully the rest of you will get to see your teams play Saturday. Maybe we can make some special requests for which games are shown in the sports bar! :rolleyes1 (They don't want to see angry   & turkeys! :rotfl: )

We will have one formal night (Sunday) and one semi-formal night (Thursday) on our cruise.

As for Cruise Line Formal, I plan on using them to order my tux for the cruise. They did have a brochure in the paperwork, and I have read several times of people on the boards using them. The great thing is they have the tux in your cabin when you arrive, and all you have to do is leave it in the closet when you disembark. The tuxes come with two shirts, so you can actually wear it both nights, which is probably what I will do.

;) Thank you everone for the birthday wishes. I dont think I'm going to cook tonight but not sure if we will eat out or just order in. :teeth:

Well I took Louie to the vets for his ear infection today. New vets office, I have never been there before. So here is my little story:

Louie only weights 60lbs whereas my dog weighs in at 110. So I'm thinking no pincher collar just his choker collar....wrong....this dog does not walk well on a leash, was pulling me, would not listen. We finally get inside the building, checking in and I feel something warm on my foot. Yes he is peeing all over the bottom of the counter and my foot. So we clean up that mess.
Go and sit, waiting to get called, another dog comes in and yes, he pees again. Start to clean that up and we get called into the room. Fine in the room. Come out checking out and yes he pees again. All over the bottom of the counter again. I was sooo embarssed. My dog Jack never does that. Nice first impression :smooth: . Any way, he is now on ear drops and I have to go back in a week. With a pincher collar and hopefully no peeing.!

Went grocery shopping and now I am sitting here on the boards. : :surfweb: Life cant get much better than that... :dance3:

Thats about it for now, just have to empty diswasher and reload a few things and I done for the day.

Hi Everybody!

Happy Birthday, Denise!

My dh wants to buy a suit. He NEVER wears a suit unless somebody's getting married (Our age group and their kids are done with that) or buried. Why would he want to buy a suit instead of having a tux magically appear in his closet??

Let's see . . . was the 80's Tom Petty? We lived in Germany in the late 70's through 1986 so I don't remember hearing much. But the rec center used to run buses to concerts in the major cities and I seem to remember that name. . . was that the era of Mannheim Steamroller?

Now 60's, we could tell you! Woodstock - just down the road. Alice's restaurant? 40 miles the other direction. I love the Beach Boys et al.

No bananas here - I loathe the little dizzymaking critters - and no posts for a bit either - Sunday, I'm away to Las Vegas and then Disneyland for the half marathon. (No, the old lady doesn't run, but a dozen of my younger friends will be. I drive the support vehicle - ecv)

Have a great weekend!

Hi All,
Just getting in we had a hectic day here. As most of you know I work in a hospital, the ER to be exact I report in at 6am and this morning I get a call at 630 from my dad saying he is in the parking lot bleeding. He had surgery 2 weeks ago and the incision site was bleeding, well long story short he wound up having emergency surgery today to stop an infection in his belly. Quite a whirlwind day, you know when you work there you get used to all sorts of things but that sure changes when its your daddy(yes Mutt even at my young 40 age I still call my father daddy, must be a southern thing :sunny: ) Any who dad is doing well and shou;d be sent home tomorrow.

Hpwever I think there is a minamum amount of posts you must have before you can post pictures. Not sure how many it is, :confused3 but you can just do a bunch of posts saying bump or something to help build you up to have enough to post your pictures, once someone tells you how many you need. I'm sure it's not too many posts.
Someone on this board didnt have enough posts awhile back, not sure who it was, but maybe they will be able to tell you how many you need. In the mean time go to photobucket and get your photos ready to go.

Good Morning Nana Heads

Linda -- Glad you'll be joining us on Sunny's tour.

DH is going to Michigan State football game today. Just looking at MSU's schedule and wonder if any fans of the following colleges are up for a friendly, drinkable bet:

Pitt - Jeff
Notre Dame
Illinois
Michigan
Ohio State
Northwestern
Indiana
Purdue
Minnesota
Penn State

If I can win all bets, I will be one happy and drunk cruiser!!!! If I lose all bets, I will be one broke cruiser!!!!

I'm enjoying the trip down the 80s memory lane. What about the 60s and 70s Nana Heads? Growing up in Detroit City, we had Motown, Bob Seger, Mitch Ryder, and others (I'm sure). Do any of you remember the original Mickey Mouse Club (my DH loved Annette), party lines, bouffant hair dos, frats, greasers, hippies, drills at school by sitting under your desk in case of an attack by the Russians, Jack and Jackie/Camelot?

Well I woke up this morning and the Magic was on my mind.....
Just sitting on the dock of the bay, waiting for the Magic .......
Sugar pie hunny bunch, take me on the Magic ........

Enough of my rumblings. Alyssa and I have a busy day planned -- library (she calls it the bookrary), shopping, playing on swings/slides, lunch, etc.

Have a great weekend!!

Its the weeked (la fin de semana) and I'm gonna do nothing today!
I do have some homework, but I'll get it done later.
My dad asked me last night, after I was talking about the cruise, "how are you going to feel after the cruise is over"... or something like that. Thats why for the last three or four months, I've been trying to reminisce, so it's like I've been on the cruise the whole time. Okay, so that's dumb, but hey, I'll feel sad that I have to wait again to get on the cruise.

Was anyone on the cruise last year after Thanksgiving? We were. Had a blast too. Does anyone remember the Carnival's horn incident before they left? :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
That was good times. See y'all later!

Okay Mutt (and other 80's fanatics), let's go way back to 1981 and see if you can identify why this song is special:

I heard you on the wireless back in Fifty Two
Lying awake intent at tuning in on you.
If I was young it didn't stop you coming through.

Oh-a oh

They took the credit for your second symphony.
Rewritten by machine and new technology,
and now I understand the problems you can see.

Oh-a oh

I met your children
Oh-a oh

What did you tell them?
Video killed the radio star.
Video killed the radio star.

So, does anyone know the trivia behind this song?

Well, got to go and start getting ready for the tailgate party this afternoon. I LOVE FOOTBALL SEASON!

Good morning, Banana Heads

Of course we know the "trivia" ... The Buggles, "Video Killed the Radio Star", first video to be played on MTV, August 1, 1981 at midnight. Duh! :lmao: In fact, my household had MTV from the first day it was on the air! Of course, I was only like ... um ... 3 at the time ... :happytv:

Trey: You've done it ... brought up the absolute worst song of the 80s, and one of the worst videos. And the funny thing is, until Tonya posted that, I never knew the lyrics! BTW, Ferris Bueller was on last night :rotfl2: .

Denise, it looks like we may not get Mutt up on stage with Wally (however, he did belt out a little bit of "Beyond the Sea" by Bobby Darin for me this morning :teeth: ). So I think we need to do some more recruiting. I'm sure BOB will help, but also let's get some of the guys we haven't heard from yet to back them up ... Greg, Don, Bill, Brian, Brendon, Steve & Steve, Stony, Trey, Bruce, Mike, both Daves, Andy, Rick, Ron, Andrew ... yeah, we got a whole chorus going on now, ladies! :rotfl: Maybe they can all do a male version of "Addicted to Love" ... you remember that video, dontcha? :rotfl2:

Jan, I remember the original MMC, but I'm sure it was in repeats by the time I saw it ... Annette, Bobby, Roy (what WAS his purpose, anyway? :rotfl2: ), Jimmie, Darlene ... :goodvibes

Okay, so Kelly and Shell both got the answer. Now, for the prize......What was the SECOND music video played on MTV? Can you do it without using the net?

And Trey brought up one of my absolute favorite songs of the 80s, not the worst, like Shell seems to think. We all know that the worst song of the 80s was "Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go" by Wham.

Hope everyone is having a great day. It is starting out beautiful here in Atlanta. Just cooked breakfast for DW and now we relax before the big game! Okay, it isn't such a big game, but it is football, and we will be there!

Shell: The list looks great!! It's getting longer and longer which is great!!

TiggerKing: I hope you are right that this is preparing me for alot of partying on the cruise :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Wendy: I am 25 years old and still call my dad- daddy!! Glad to hear your dad is going better!!!

Come on guys, I can't believe no one has mentioned this one yet...
Hey Mickey you're so fine you blow my mind, hey Mickey
Now talk about the worst song of the '80's.

Or how about, "Sunglasses at Night", you know you are all going "I wear my sunglasses at night, so I can, so I can, daa daa da daaa..."

Now that's bad music.

Hey Mutt, making that Def Leppard concert sound better and better ain't we?

Oooh, oooh, oooh!

Got another one how about this one, and it certainly applies...

"She dashed by me in painted on jeans
And all heads turned 'cause she was the dream
In the blink of an eye I knew her number and her name yeah
Ah she said I was the tiger she wanted to tame..."

That's right ladies and gentleman,

"Caribbean Queen, now were sharing the same dream,
And our hearts they beat as one,
No more love on the run"

Gotta love it

I was thankful for the 80s! Disco ruled when i was in HS so when I got to college and could listen to bands like Styx & the Eagles, I thought I had died and gone to heaven. :-) I even don't mind many of these "bad songs" you all are talking about. Now don't even get me started on the Bee Gees and the rest of the Sat Night Fever soundtrack.

We are also joining everyone on the Sunny tour in St. Thomas. I emailed directly with Sunny who told me that it is fine for kids so we're in.

Ok....UNCLE!! I give up! Mercy...mercy...pu-leaseeee??? I grant you the fact that most of us have lovely memories of the 80's. Its just really sad for me that my renaissance(sp?) in music is about 10-15 years behind. My music match jukebox is now filled with Alice in Chains, STP and Foo Fighters. I still pull out the Motley Crue and Ratt from time to time but my new "friends" scream down the highway with me now.

Go Buckeyes!
(this is gonna be a tough one for us)

Okay, another note on music. EVERY time I put my helmet on to get on the motorcycle, I instantly start hearing Molly Hatchet's "Flirtin' With Disaster" running through my head. I typically have to go through the entire song one time before it disappears! And then, I will often break into Tom Cochrane's "Life is a Highway". (Hey Mutt, is there a motorcycle riding banana?)

Yes, I have a warped sense of music! I often say that my 300+ cds span from Amadeus Mozart to ZZ Top, and everything in between! :thumbsup2

Talk about the 80's ... "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" is on right now on the USA network. "Hey, Dude ... let's party!" :rotfl2:

Bob, what Bill was trying to say on his last post is that my guess -- without looking it up anywhere -- for 2nd video played on MTV was either Pat Benatar or Rod Stewart.

you will need reservation numbers, not sure if that is all, because DH does all the reservations, but I do know he needed at least the reservation numbers to do that.
I'm with you on not really knowing much about 80's music, but if I reveal the era for my music , it would really reveal my age!!! :rotfl2: I'm beginning to feel like we have a bunch of youngsters on this cruise :confused3 at least compared to me.

Did you see Suttle Atlantis launch this morning!?!? :furious: :furious: I wanna see that! That's what I'm hoping for, that one time, I can see a suttle launch from on the Magic at Port Canaveral!

What a good launch today though. Everything went smoothly. All three engines performed flawlessly. For some reason I thought something might have gone wrong (knock on wood), but it didn't thankfully. They're going to replace some parts of the ISS (International Space Station), and fix some problems that they had in the past. It's a new chapter for the ISS. Good luck to all of them :cheer2: .

Well both my DH and dog survived the walk/ tug o war! :rotfl2:
Minnie now weighs 50 pounds!! :dogdance:
I was very proud of Minnie, she pulled like crazy for about 1/4 mile, then she started walking as she should. DH kept praising her and most of the walk she walked next to his right side with a loose leash!! :thumbsup2
I am a proud mommy :cloud9:

But when she got close to our house she recognised it and wanted to run for the door, she was hot and tired!!! Then she rested on the cool tile floor, had some water and a treat.

Tomarrow will be round 2.
If she does as well tomarrow as today, it wont be long she will be well trained. So far she has trained very easily for other things.

We watched the Magic pull out tonight, as usual, dreaming of only 11 more weeks and we will be on it!! :bounce:

Wow, you all sure keep busy here. I have had such a crazy two weeks, but things should be settling down now. We took an inpromptu trip to see my parents over the holiday weekend. It's an 8 hour drive with the three kids and a dog. Came back and unpacked our stuff we had in storage while hubby was job hunting. Got ready for a garage sale that was today. We made almost $70 for cruise spending money. Then went and spent most of it at a local festival instead. :confused3

The great news is that hubby, Kevin, got the job he wanted. The agreed to let him take vacation for the cruise, but a couple of days will be without pay. :guilty:

The bad news is that our dog is very ill. She had cancer for a couple of months, but has taken a turn for the worst. She is 11 and I am not counting on her being around in another week. So hard to deal with it. We haven't even got to be happy about the job.

I do hope to be around more now. So I can get to know everyone better. I need to send a picture in as well. I will get on that next week. I need to figure out what reservations we need to make too.

Oye! That sounds like my dh as well. And he 'tests' me. I usually fail because i'm more interested in listening than knowing who it is. Together, though, we cover most of the spectrum. I'm the classical / blues /jazz side of the house and he's the county / rock- er.

Carrie, so sorry to hear about your dog, I have been there , done that too!!
I feel for you, just got our dog 2 months ago, so hopefully we will have many years with her like you've had with your dog. My thoughts are with you!!

Lynn, you can watch the ship pull out as long as you have a computer and are on line.

Go to www.twopalms.com This is a shot of the ocean, just after the ship clears the channel. The ship will pass by some where from 5:20 to 5:45 depending if she leaves on time . You will need to refresh the picture every 2 or 3 minutes because after that long it is a still picture of the sea.
If you check it a little early you will see a carnival ship pass by too. also after the ship has gone by, click on todays snapshots and you will see pictures of the ships as they pass by. If you play with the iste some you will catch on, it is easy.
Local6.com has a cam right at the port, but it is often not working or points the other direction. but when it works you can see the hsip at he teminal and watch it go down the channel right at 5 p.m. But as I said it rarely seems to be working corrctly.

Welcome back, Carrie (hey, wasn't that a 70's show?). Congrats to Kevin on the new job!! Things always tend to work out for the best somehow in those situations. As my DH expressed, we completely understand what you are going through with your dog, and I couldn't say it any better than he did. We'll be thinking of you.

Denise: Mexican Radio was a song from the 80s, believe it or not! It was sung by a group called (ready?) Wall of Voodoo. Yeah, it was a quick death in the pop world for them :rotfl:

Kathy: Tell Greg to keep up the good work with Minnie! Eventually, she will have him trained properly!!! :lmao:

I was going on a 9/23/06 cruise but changed it to 8/5/06 so we could take the grandkids along. My name is still on that thread, since I started it, even though I am no longer going on the cruise. :sad2:

Kathy

Thanks everyone for the kind words about my baby Maxi. She is doing better today maybe she'll stick with us a little while longer. We took her to the beach yesterday. She used to love chasing the waves. She wasn't up to that, but seemed to enjoy just sitting there with us. Her little nub of a tale was wagging (she's a Jack Russel). Of course, I was a basket case most of the time. My two younger ones don't realize what is going on, but my 13 year old is well aware.

So I got an email from our travel agent saying payment is do tomorrow. Got me a little more excited. I do need to figure out if we want to book something at the spa. We still don't plan on doing excursions. But since this will be the first of many cruises, we will have a lot of time for that.

I bought a recordable DVD player/VCR combo today. We are trying to copy our videos over while they are still in somewhat good condition. Right now I'm working on our first DW trip. My oldest was an only child then and just 4 years old. It's so sweet to watch her. I have about 2000 more hours of videos to go. Two-thirds from my oldest's life. One-third for the other 2 kids combined.

Keep the 80's songs coming. I'm having fun with the memories their bringing back.

Good Evening Nana Heads!!!

Sunny Liston Tour -- I emailed Sunny yesterday to forewarn him of us Nanaheads. He's ready for us!!! Guess we're the only 9am pick ups that morning. We got picked up at 10am last year, and the shopping time went by too fast.

Jamie -- Hope you're feeling better. Shell, I don't think there will be any
valium to share by 11/25!!!

Dutchsmommy -- Just thinking about over-the-courter 222s (tylenol with codeine) available in Canada. For years, I worked in the downtown Detroit area and Windsor employees would haul bottles of 222s in to work for co-workers.

Carrie -- Contrats on DH's new job. What a relief for you and your family.

Joelidol - yes, we will remember the heros who perished at the WTC, D.C. and Pennsylvania 5 years ago. What a tragic day for our country and the world.

Linda, Kathy and Pat -- yes, grandparenting is so great!!!! If they still have the grandparent brag session on board, we'll have to attend. As I said before, love the 60s music. Any sightings of Elvis lately???!!! Remember the Beatles on Ed Sullivan on a Sunday night in early 1964. My dad had a fit with their long hair!!! P.S. I think I will will as the oldest female in our group......

Have to get to bed soon. Waking up early (2:45 a.m.) to book DF Bob for the St. Maarten fishing trip.

 Evening all...

Well getting ready to go to bed shortly since I am waking early to make my reservations. Actually I had to call DCL this morning, everytime I would try and get in with my resrevation number and BD it told me the BD didnt match. So I called and they had my year wrong. 10 years younger :rolleyes1 I told them I would like to keep the 10 year younger part, but they fixed it and now I am able to get in. I also called Happy Limo and switched our van to a smaller one, since 4 people dropped out of our party. So I am getting things in order.

:sad2: I cant belive its been 5 years since 9-11 New York, Pennsylvania and Washington. Yes we will all take a minute of silence and remember all who lost their lives.

I let you know how reservations went when I get home from work tomorrow. Have a great week everyone.

good luck with ressies on the 75 day mark! yippee!!!

to all my dog lovers: those dogs that pull try out the "halti" it looks like a muzzle but isn't they are able to open and close their mouths, eat drink and be merry. but when they pull on their leash it pulls their snouts down and htey dont like that. its better than the harness' because they pull on their underlegs. and not to be missed the best dog book ever will have you laughing your nannas off "Marley and Me" by John Grogan. it is an amazing book and so true about dogs, its not cheezy either!

have a great time making ressies everyone! sorry i haven't checked in awhile!

OK, 80s fans...what sayeth you about this one...

:fish: Fish heads, fish heads. Roly, poly fishheads. Fish heads, fish heads. Eat them up. YUM! :fish:

So, without cheating...does anyone remember the trivia about that one?

I'm bored stiff. My back went out on me and I am recuperating in bed with my trusty Valium. Party on Wayne...Party on Garth!

Ok..we know it was on the Dr. Dimento (sp?) show...what else?

Where's Tiggerking with our answer from yesterday for the 2nd video on MTV?

Carrie - I'm glad to hear about DH's job. Sorry to hear about your dog..but I'm glad things seem a bit better today.

I can't believe was are just about 75 days out! We can't wait!!

We will definitely be remembering 9-11 here in NJ. It hit too close to home..that's for sure. DH was supposed to be there on 9-13. I will never forget that day or the days that followed. My heart still breaks and tears fall whenever I read something or watch something about it. I don't know that our country we will ever fully recover from that tragedy.

Have a good night everyone-

pretty quiet morning here today. The sun is just starting to come up so we have a very pretty pink sky. Everyone is off to work accept me,and the pup.

Have a good day everyone,

Good Morning Kathy and everyone who follows

Funny you should mention the sunrise this morning...I looked out my kitchen window and just the tops of some of the trees were shining as the sun was just start to hit them. I even called DD into the room to see it. The sun comes up behind our house so when you look in the front yard it's a really pretty sight :sunny:

One child is off to school and I'm going to get the other up and ready. Then I am off to weight watchers today - Ive got a cruise to get in shape for. Actually I'm a Lifetime member who took too long of a vacation this summer so it's back on track for me today. I'm actually glad to have the cruise as motivation - it helps!

I hope everyone has a great day today!

Okay, first off...Billy Idol is ugly! It is that bad boy thing again that you gals seem to like so much!

As for the second video, Woo gets half credit. It was Pat Benatar, but since she didn't name the song......I would have never guessed the song either. It was "You Better Run". Don't recall that song from my PB albums. On a side note, the first time I ever went to Pleasure Island at DTW, she was performing a concert. I went straight from there to the 80s club and had a blast that night!

Carrie: My sympathies on the situation with your dog. I have a dog that is 13 years old, and showing signs of not being too much longer. I sometimes look at him and catch myself thinking about that time when he won't be here. It tears me up.

I don't know why I am posting this. Maybe it is to honor those who lost their life that day, and in the battles since. But one of the most poignant stories of my life is that I was in NYC in March 2002. DW, a good friend and I were spending the weekend after I had been in NJ on business and we had gone to ground zero. We were walking around the fence looking at all the notes of support and pictures of those who were lost. We came upon a bicycle still chained to a lamp post. On it was a note that said:

(Bike owner's name),
We are looking for you. If we don't find you, we will know you are in heaven.
(Signed by family member)

I lost it right then and there because it became real at that point.

God Bless America!

Ok, so now I'm totally confused. We got up at 2:30 a.m., yes a.m., to make these res. for our fun picks and for brunch on Sunday at Palos and guess what...nothing! They didn't have any openings at Palos for brunch. I'm very :sad2: How do you get what you want? Is it because we are first timers with DCL? They didn't have anything at 3 a.m. then my dh checked again at 6:30 and they had two dinner dates open. What is up with that? Does that mean people cancelled? I'm not too sure I like DCL anymore :worried:
Stephen is going to check with the travel agent today and find out how we can go about trying to get what we wanted. He went ahead and booked dinner for both he and Esther. We didn't want Stacey to miss pirates night so we aren't sure about dinner. Am I missing something about this cruise thing? You see, you really can't teach an old dog new tricks!
I'm not too happy today anyway. Our big red car is giving us a fit. The wipers think they are suppose to run all the time and when the front wipers turn off (by themselves) the back one comes on (by itself). The lights on the inside of the car blink and the engine doesn't know if it should turn over or shut off. We had an awful rain storm last night and the control panels under the hood got wet. Why you say, because the guy who changed my oil forgot to but the top back on the electrical control panel when he reset them so the check oil light would go off! We went out last night to celebrate our big 35 year ann. and got caught in the storm that flooded our roads. On our way home it stopped raining and Steve and Pat were driving down the road with the wipers saying "dumb guy" all the way home. Ever turn on your wipers when the windshield is dry and the bugs hit it? I never knew wipers moved that fast.
Well, have a good day all. As I remember what day this is I guess a little brunch and wipers gone mad isn't really anything compared to what life deals others around us.

Pat, don't fret the Palo ressies. Almost 50% of the available tables are held back for shipboard reservations. Just plan on being at the appropriate place as soon as they open on 11/25 and you should be able to get all the reservations you want. :thumbsup2

Good day, all!

Hope everyone had a good weekend. It was rainy & cool all weekend long in IL. :furious:

I didn't make a list, but did everyone's college team win on Sat.? The Ohio State/Texas game ended up being a blow-out. :confused3

I didn't even pay attention to NFL -- though I watched a bit of the Bears/Packers game. It's always a big deal here because we live on the IL/WI stateline. Sorry DutchsMom -- your Packers didn't look so hot. At least Ahman Green (former Husker) seems to be healthy. :thumbsup2

Carrie -- I know exactly how you feel. Our beagle, Benny, had to be put down about 3 years ago after a battle with cancer. She was diagnosed in August (they originally thought she'd be around for 2-3 months tops) and made it until May the following spring. It was so emotionally difficult. I sure do miss her! We still have our 2 cats (plus a new one who just showed up on our doorstep), so that's enough for now. So glad to hear about your husband's new job! :yay: :yay:

Woo-- I was watching a bit of Fast Times on Saturday, too! :happytv:

Hope everyone has a good day. We're one day closer to Wild Turkey/Nana Day!

P.S. I'm sure we all remember where we were five years ago. My dad, brother & sister-in-law all worked for United, so it was a bit tense until we knew each was accounted for. Dad & SIL were off that day and DB was in Philadelphia. Our family was very lucky. Thoughts & prayers to all families affected in one way or another.

Good Afternoon Nana Heads,
Today is just a sad day here in NY. Everytime 9-11 comes I remeber where I was when I found out about the planes hitting the Towers. My dad who was a New York Police Officer ( now retired) at the time of 9-11 has a very had time dealing with the memories of this day. I called him and all he keep saying is I will never forgot the clouds of smoke and the people running ever where. He took pictures of loved ones that were in the Towers at the Crisis center. He then had to go to the remains of the towers. I am just glad that my dad is still with us!! For all the families that lost someone on 9-11 my heart goes out to you!!!!

Hey Everyone-

Lynn - I love the pics of your DS. I know what you mean about the sadness today...I'm in Central NJ and 9-11 hit this area pretty hard. A young man from my Church had his son baptised on Sunday 9-9-01 and then on 9-11 he was in NY at the Twin Towers and didn't make it out. I still see his wife and kids at Church and my heart still breaks for her :sad1:

I can't believe how raw the emotions still are from that day even now, 5 years later.
I'm sending this out to everyone :grouphug:

Oh, Mutt - I'm ok with the K-e-l-l-y thing...it makes me smile :)

Not much else going on here...just the usual running around of kids to activities and the first Back to School Night tonight for DD (10) - did I mention that I'm now the parent of a Middle Schooler :faint:

See ya all later-

Lynn, your son is so adorable. He really mad me smile. While I often glad that I'm done with babies. I can't believe my little one will be close to 5 when we cruise. I'm feeling it even more as I transfer my videos over. Seeing my 13 year old at 2 bring back a lot of memories.

Cruise question: My hubby and I were thinking of doing the couples villa at the spa. Has anyone done this and is it worth the price? It looks like to have to book it once onboard. Do you think we'll have any trouble?

What is the earliest time we can get to the terminal. How early will they board. We will be driving to the ship. Our current plan is to drive to Jacksonville on Friday and then get up very early Saturday to get to the ship. I was trying to figure out what time we would need to leave to get there.

If we don't want to do excursions or eat at Palos, is there anything else we should book online?

Yes, this is truly a sad day. I was crying on my way to work this morning while listening to the local radio station. Lots of people calling in to share their experience the morning of 9/11. It was very sad. It is so true that we must never forget! Andy & I were fortunate that our family members that worked in NYC were safe.

Pat, It was slim pickins for our Palo Ressies too. I couldn't get any except dinner the day we get on the ship!!!! I guess I'll have to wait until we board. At least I was able to sign the kids up for the kids program.

DH and I begin our vacation 10 weeks from today!!

This weekend we went to a wedding.... The ceremony at the church went perfectly, but as we were all driving to where the reception was going to be held it started to POUR. There were sheets of hard rain and the wind was whipping the trees around. And there was wicked thunder and lightening
The reception was supposed to be in a tent outside of the brides mothers house.
EVERYthing that they had worked so hard to make and put togetther for the centerpieces and table settings was destroyed. :sad2:
The two smaller tents where the bride and groom were going to have their first dance and cut their cake where blown over. (fortunatly the cake was in the house at the time)
The Bride did better than I would have done in this situation. She took it all in stride as the 100 or so wedding guests packed like sardines in the house.
They ended up having their first dance outside once the rain stopped, but the rest of the traditional reception stuff didn't happen. :bride:

I hope they have a nice honeymoon to make up for all the drama!

Good morning everyone!

A little overcast here in Atlanta today with rain moving in later this afternoon.

Trying to recover from a very emotional day yesterday. DW and I watched the ABC movie "The Path to 9/11" and last night was a little difficult to watch as it reached the point of 9/11. I also watched some other tidbits on other channels, including a piece about a priest who stood at the entrance to ground zero for over 14 hours, 2 of which were in the pouring rain, just encouraging those who were coming in and out doing their work. I wish I could do his story justice.

Have a wonderful day all, and keep those posts coming! :thumbsup2

Good morning Banana Heads

Cheri (and others):In order to reach 4000 by 11/25, we must have an average of just under 25 posts per day. Now, since most of us will be traveling on the last couple of days before the cruise, we need to "kick it up a notch" and keep the chatter going! :surfweb:

Thank our lucky stars that we have an accountant with us to figure that kind of stuff out :rotfl2: (oh, how he hates that! I'm in for it now ... )

What's the etiquette for wearing our turkey shirts? Are we supposed to wear them for the 3 p.m. Promenade meet?

Wendy ... sorry, gf, I'm with Mike on this one. I have no idea why you'd want to be at the port before you can even get on the ship. But then, Mutt is on your side and wants to get there as early as possible and wait around. But we ALL know who will win that "disagreement" :lmao: (love ya, honey!)

Have a great day!

Denise - Let me tell you our personal Palo story from our August 12 Magic Cruise. We booked nothing in advance because we weren't sure if DD2 would take to Flounders. When we boarded (we had a number 8 and probably got on around 12:30 or 12:45) I went straight to the Palo reservations area in Studio Sea. I asked for Thursday (a day at sea) for brunch and booked it no problem. Then my wife and I started talking and decided maybe we should do it on Monday instead so she went up around 1:15 p.m. or so and got us on a waiitng list for Monday. Got a call on Sunday confirming. Then she got us reserved for dinner on Thursday which we wound up canceling because we were enjoying dinner with DDs so much by then we didn't want to miss one.

For those interested in the spa reservations that you weren't able to get, I had the same luck here. Went to spa late on Sunday evening and asked about a massage for the next day. Was told they would call me if something came available (I had asked for as early AM as possible). Sure enough got a call within a half hour confirming an 8:30 a.m. Had such a good massage I decided I wanted another on our last sea day (Thursday). Again, I called on Wed. and had my choice of times to choose from.

The moral of the story is that one of the things I was freaked out about before the cruise was how scheduled EVERYTHING had to be. I'm happy to say that on this cruise, at least, I was able to really "go with the flow" and do things when it was convenient for me and my family.

So....I'll race you all to Studio Sea since I wasn't able to get brunch ressies online! :-)

Are you taking Disney transportation or a town car? We are booked for Disney transport but may switch it out. I like the ride TO the port but HATE the ride back - especially because the buses dump you off no where near where you need to be to do curbside check in. And then that means I have to haul my bags off the bus and onto a cart and then upstairs for check in. I'm flying southwest this time so I don't have the option of checking bags at the port. :sad2:

we are taking the disney transportation from the POFQ, so I think we will be at the port at 1:00ish.
This is really more for DH's sake, as our last two cruises he turned into a pack mule the second we hit the port while the ladies carried... (nothing!)
He requested that we get to the port a little before our rooms are avalible so he didnt have to carry so much. (we allways try for ONE carry on, but it usually is more...)
Since his shoulder is still not the same after the "chair" incident, I figured it would be better to give in on this ONE little thing.

OH!! I got in my pirate outfit!! I am so excited!
Last time DH was dressed to the 9's and I wore my tropical dress... (and felt a little stupid standing next to pirate boy pirate:

I figured if you didnt recognise my face you would probably know me the minute I opened my mouth. I have a fog horn for a voice as my family will tell you. Once at work when the PA system went out, they had me stand in the middle of the store and announce the closing speech. I talked normal and everyone heard me. Guess I am good for something :rotfl2:

Denise,
if you dont get the dinner time you want, as soon as you get on the ship you can go and put in to have it changed. On the paper they give you at check in , it will state the club to go to for reservations and dining changes. Go there just as soon as you get on board, then hopefully they will change you. We have had them change us everytime accept once on a 3 day cruise. One time we had late dining the first night, but by the second night, we had early.
So you can still try to change it, if it's not what you want.
Your gonna make you quota of posts, :woohoo: I have faith!!! Just keep posting!!

36-50 t shirts
10.95 s-xl
12.95 for xxl and up
10.45 for kids shirts and baby onezies

51-75
9.45 s-ml
11.45 for xxl and up
8.95 for kids shirts and baby onezies

Right now I think we are @ 43. I will probably be ordering a couple extra and maybe a bag.

Plus if anyone wants to check their site out they offer sweatshirts, bags, etc. If you are so inclined. www.graystone-graphics.com.

Sunny Liston Tour - I keep forgetting to mention that at Mountain Top (a 30 minute stop), the drink specialty is banana daiquiris -- with or without liquor.

We plan to get to port around 11am. We are renting a car the day before. We want to make a grocery stop (DH needs diet Pepsi), maybe stop by and visit Shirley at Perfect Gift is she's there, then have the guys drop us off at port.

Kathy -- is check in for CC members still fast and easy?

Shell-- we plan to wear our DIS shirts all day on the 25th.

Tonya -- thanks again for all the work you did on getting our DIS shirts printed.

Our thoughts and prayers go to Steve, Esther and Laura.

Denise -- we plan to make dinner changes as soon as we board, too. We are currently scheduled for late seating, but want an earlier seating. If we don't get reassigned, we'll check with the dining room managers each day to get 4 seats at an early dinner time.

Jeff -- Go State!!! Can't wait to watch this game.

Actually, my alarm is set for 6:00 a.m., but normally the dogs are waking us up at 5:30 for their potty break. They need to adjust to daylight savings time!

Now, on the cruise, I will be up early. At least one morning, I will be up prior to sunrise to take pictures. :sunny: I will also be up VERY late one night to get pictures of the ship while no one is up and around!

And Mutt, I don't drink coffee. Actually, as of about Sept. last year, I am caffeine free! I have caffeine occaisionally, but I don't have that addiction anymore (hated those headaches when I couldn't find a Diet Coke!). Got sick last year and could drink anything but water for nearly a week. Never noticed the caffeine withdrawals because I was feeling so bad, but I committed to not get hooked again!

Good mornin' everyone!!

You east coast early risers must feel like it's almost afternoon already! :rotfl:
I'm up by 6:30 (DH sometimes up sooner so he can play Strat-o-Matic baseball or basketball before going to work!!) to get DD off to kindergarten.

It's nice to get up early on the cruise and walk around while most are still sleeping.

Another cool thing I did on our last cruise was go for a run on the Promenade as we were heading into Nassau. You get the view and the sea breeze and you almost forget you're exercising! :thumbsup2

So far another cloudy day on tap. It's supposed to start clearing up and warming up as we head into the weekend. I sure hope so! :sunny:

Wendy -- have you ever watched that Reality TV channel? Talk about getting your fix. :happytv: They have marathons of various shows (I think it's an off-shoot of Fox, so it doesn't have ALL the shows.) so you can catch up in one day!

So I guess I'll have to watch Dancing with the Stars :dancer: to see who gets kicked off tonight! popcorn:: Ugh!

Well, off to work. Have a splendid day!

Cheri   :yay:

By the way, Mutt, did we convince you to go to the Def Leppard concert??!! :rockband: Pour some sugar on me. . . :music:

Well in our house we get up between 5 and 6 -- or at least my wife does. I loll around until the kids jump in bed with me and then I get to watch an episode of Sponge Bob or Little Einsteins (depending on which kid it is). That is unless it's days when the little one decides a 2:30 a.m. wake up call is in order. Thankfully that doesn't happen often, but when it does.... :coffee: :coffee: :coffee: it becomes a multiple starbucks day.

On the August cruise, I didn't do the early morning visits to the top deck as I had hoped - because I wasn't feeling well hte first couple of days and then I just got lazy. This trip, I'm bound and determined to do better.

I'm off to Toronto for a client meeting later today and tomorrow. I'll check in later from the great white north. Hope it's not snowing! :scared1:

Good Morning All:

I to, like Tiggerking, hope to get up early on the ship. Maybe I will walk a couple laps to wake up. Hunter and I were up early the first morning. It was beautiful, but windy. I have some great shots of the sun rise. I hope everyone has a productive day and a safe day.

10 it is, Wendy....you and that southern charm thing....
DW mayyyyy have something to say about that.

Ok, gang,....in the news! I took in a stray...she was huddled up on the side of our house, her cord was all tangled up in wires and debris. She was cold and hungry and scared as hell. Now she's in our florida room curled up on on of the chairs with a belly full of kibble and some fresh water. I still have to call the humane society and the police to see if anyone reported her but....who knows? Woo and I may be parents again...(everyone keep the fingers crossed---she really seems like a sweetie). I NEVER should have adopted the name mutt....I'm such a sap for this stuff---I DONT EVEN LIKE DOGS! grrrrr.....(no comments Wendy...I'm still that mean ol guy from ohio, lest we forget)

Ok....time to go do something productive....
heres a pic of her.....

That puppy has one of the most precious faces I have ever seen! How could anyone let something like that slip away. But, for the sake of you two, maybe she won't get claimed.

But Mutt, if she gets claimed, you are hereby required to get your DW a new puppy. There is NO WAY she is going to be able to go puppyless if the owners of this little beauty shows up!

Good morning, Banana Heads

So I'm driving into work today ... a day like no other ... when my cell phone rings and DH informs me that I may be a mother. I'm still a little in shock ... still being very cautious (don't wanna fall in love quite yet) ... but who knows? She is a cutie! (PS: we always have that crazy hand of fate with us. When we were taking Sammy in to be put down last year, the last song we heard on the radio was Ozzy's "See you on the other side". Today, the first song heard when Bill turned it on for our visitor was " ... she's so easy to love ...")

For you Reality-addicts, last night I placed my very first vote ever for a reality show ... I voted for Dilana on Rock Star. She is amazing! :smokin: I had to record Dancing so haven't seen Springer and the rest yet ... and tonight is Rock Star finals so it may have to wait another day till I get caught up with the rest of you!

woo - a girl after my own heart - I am addicted to Rockstar for sure!!! I like Delana but have to side with Lukas (being canadian and all!). I'll be recording tonights episode!!!!!

Thoughts are with Steve, Ester and Laura - hope all is well.

I'm off to Toronto for a client meeting later today and tomorrow. I'll check in later from the great white north. Hope it's not snowing! No - we don't get snow for at least another week or so - my igloo needs a new roof  Actually - pack your umbrella 'cause it's supposed to rain today and tomorrow - and a light jacket, it has been quite cool the past few days. Where abouts are you meeting?? Downtown? I'm up in North TO this week. The project I was leading got cancelled due to budget constraints so I am in the process of looking for a new job (just within the company - no biggie). But.....this was a little out of the blue so I am not exactly ready - spend all day yeaterday fixing up my resume etc. What a pain!

Hope all is well with everyone - will check back later and hopefully post a bit more!

Woo & Mutt, she is a cutie pie. Maybe she was drawn to your house because she knew you were good people.

So if you are to keep her, what would you name her?

DutchsMommy and Shell - I knew I liked you grils! We are total Rockstar fans in this house. Wasn't the finale great? I thought they all did really well. It will be very interesting to see the outcome tonight. I have liked Dilana all along (although she did frighten me a little in the beginning :scared1: ) but Toby has really won me over these past few weeks too...nothing like that Aussie accent, hu?

Mutt and Shell - want an adorable puppy. Keep us posted on your adventures.

See you later-
Kelly

Was just joking about the snow. I hear that kind of stuff all the time from my west coast client. It's a bit nippy here today, so you never know! Yep I'll be downtown. Sorry to hear about the job situation - that IS a pain so I wish you the best in finding the right fit - even if it is within the same company, it's still change.
