O.k. I figured out how to post both of these pic. in my sig, but wyatts is showing up this big size under spencers. Why? When I coppied spencers at first it was this big size but when it showed up in my sig. it was small. Now that I can post pictures, I will get some to lisa for thier age pages.

Googy for life, pm Lisa (lbgraves) with your e-mail and she will add you to the list and then you can check out the pages she has done. Then if you want you can add your info to the bio pages via lisa as well.

I don't have your information for the website, which is why you are not on the group email list. All of the information is in the first post on this thread...it made it easier to just put it there instead of trying to keep track of it in the posts. After I receive your info & add it to the site, I will send you a link.

Hi All !
I am getting excited about the DL trip. Wow. Two more days and a wake up. An EARLY wake up at that. Yikes. I am working a 10 hour tomorrow, and then a 12 hour day on Wednesday. I'll only get about 4 hours sleep. WOW! Oh Well...We're going to Disneyland !!!! Wendy and Jordan...Hoping to see you there. That would be nice.
I am hoping to be able to make it to the Kanstul Brass Factory for a quick tour. I may have to sneak somehow. It is a Musical trip, afterall. AND I would love to buy a new French Horn. Since I don't have one I really do need one. Any Band Geeks out there?
Will I ever get my Ears? And, How much time Mark????
G'nite !
&
God Bless

Hi all--Hope everyone had a good Monday, looks like we're moving on to Tuesday whether we're ready or not. This week will go fast, last night DS had a band concert, tonight is a Girl Scout leader's meeting, Wed church, Thurs GS leader training, Friday Girl Scouts after school, next week is Spring Break. YEAH!!!! We go to the Lion King next Tuesday night. Hoping DH will be done with work in time to head to the city for a nice supper beforehand, the show doesn't start until 7:30. We'll all be tired on Wednesday, but can sleep in.
Brack, I hope that all is safe for you when you return to OK, the fires on the news last night looked scary.
Klineyqueen, it looks like we sent you some nasty weather on Sunday, hope you are good as well.
Have fun a DL everyone!

Angie,
I called my TA this morning to link our dining. I asked to be linked but have our own table. Her words were, "Well having lived on a cruise ship I don't think you can request that but I'll do it." I also asked her to cancel the Disney insurance, since AA is so much cheaper again "You paid your deposit you can't do that." I insisted that she check, she just called back and said that I COULD cancel the insurance. Why O Why did I give her my ressie #? I know why I didn't give her my 2007 ressie. :rotfl:

ROFL! Glad that you have us to help you out. ;)
I swear that if a day goes as planned I just don't know what I am going to do with myself! This morning DS ended up staying home from school because he still had a 99.4 temp, down from 100.8 after school yesterday. We went to Walmart after leaving school this morning so that I could pick up more motrin and the fabric that he needs for the puppet show. I looked at him under the bright lights in the craft department and was shocked. A friend ran into him, hitting his nose, and gave him a huge nose bleed on Saturday morning. Today in WM his nose was green, blue, yellow, and was swollen. Those dark circles under his eyes were even darker. We went to the doctor and after an x-ray we know that nothing is broken. They said that he might get more colorful over the next few days though.

Howdy everybody,
We spent the weekend putting in a small vegetable garden (early spring crops) and a flower garden. The worst part was moving the dirt. It's Tuesday and my back still hurts.

"When" the rooms get done I will post pictures. :) I managed to remember the goo be gone today at WM so now I just need to get it in the house to work on DD's room. ;) I have decided...after some wise interior design advice from a friend...that I am not going to repaint DS's room. I am just going to tape off the walls with a 6 inch wide strip to cover up where the border shows & use the bright galactic blue paint. I will then use the planet stamps to put alien green & red on the blue painted border. :) I might try the goo stuff tonight on DD's wall. That is the worst part of her room. I want to put up boards around two walls near the ceiling too but that wont be complicated.

Goodnight everyone. Idols was boring for the most part tonight & I can't stay interested in TAR either. Must just be the day. Tomorrow I am helping DD's teacher with the class at the movies. They are seeing Doogle...I think that's it? The assistant wont be there so she is glad that someone not afraid to say something is going with her. :) It should be interesting. I know that I will really appreciate the fact that my kids will sit thru a movie or a show without getting up constantly. Some of these kids don't go to the theater. I wont be doing bathroom runs since I had to buy a ticket to go too.

Patsy,
I'll have to tell my DS13 that. At the beginning of the school year he was memorizing digits of Pi. He got to something like 150, the school record is 200. He drove us nuts for three months, constantly reciting it, he would even write it on the church bulletins during the service. What a goofy kid. I can't believe he let it slip by without noticing. Then agian, maybe I won't tell him, it might re-kindle his interest. ;)
Hope everyone has a good night!!

Stacie - have fun in NYC. That is a great show! We saw it a few years ago. We love the city. Are you taking a bus up or driving? Klineyqueen aka Brandi--
Your'e city and my city are two different cities. My "city" is the big whopping metropolis of Des Moines. Not really much of a city but I'm finally to the point I can drive about anywhere there and know where I am and I can get between all the malls without the freeway (major construction). :rotfl: Out of all the places I've been, the NE and the SW are not among them. When I was 10 or 11 we went to Hershey, PA as part of a vacation one year.
Hopefully it will be spring soon and you can take the little ones out. The library is always a good place to go too, although I always hated it when DD would scream and shriek the whole time and the librarian would shoot me those death looks.
Have a good day!

Staci I was just laughing :rotfl2: when I read your response! When I think show and city I automatically think NYC. That is only about 1.5 - 2 hours away from where I live. We often take the bus because that is cheaper then finding and paying for parking! Anyway enjoy your show.
I hope everyone has fun in DL.
Did any of you ever have a bad experience with the kids clubs? I was just reading a trip report thread and there were some very negative comments from one person. I have often read lots of good stuff I was just wondering if any of you had a bad experience. My son will be starting preschool in the fall and that will be his first time away from us. He is always with my husband or I or one of our parents. I am even his Sunday School teacher, he leads a bit of a sheltered life......
I am hoping that preschool will get him ready for the club. I just don't want him to be beat up on.

Lisa G--hope your having a better day today. Sending some happy thoughts your way!!
Brandi--I read the same trip report you must of, I've been reading the boards for a few months now and have never heard anyone talk about the kid's club like that. Your son will do just fine in preschool, it will be fun to see him in a different environment. There is nothing wrong with having a "sheltered" life. Your kids are both very lucky to have you home with them. :)
Did anyone see the cruise ship retirement plan on the main forum? It sounds like a great idea to me!

LOL! Last night I saw that there were only 6 more posts left to go. I went to bed at 9:10 pm...unheard of usually! ;) My headache was gone in the morning thank goodness...and it wasn't because of the boards at all. It was just a bad day with everyone from PTO to teachers sounding ungrateful for everything at once. Too much going on & not organized enough for me but....oh well. I'm not going to be around if it is last minute.
On a good note we started collecting our furdraiser orders today & we were there all day long checking orders & counting money. We are at $7990 so far!!! It is one of the best ever & we went out on a limb against what the PTO president & some others wanted to do. :) :) :)
Tomorrow is a half day & after the morning at the school working on the fundraiser & other PTO things I will be cleaning the house because DH is catching the train to come home for a quick trip. :) The kids are excited! We are just going to stay home. It's been 2 months...6 more weeks to go. This is getting really old. :(

I've never had a problem. I'm sure there are problems, but not like that poster described. I had to wonder if the post was 100% legit. I even questioned other details about their report. Not sure why some people feel the need to bash with out justification. I can't imagine it makes them feel better about themselves. Now I'm not trying to bash the poster...they might have had some bad/rough times.
If you read the DonaldDuckFan (I think that is his Dis name) thread- the one about the myths and miscommunications of the children's clubs, there is someone who talks about biting...well, maybe that original poster with the bad experience was the biter family and they were just really mad that the clubs weren't kind to their biting child and they had a vendetta.
I don't know - but bottom line - the clubs arent' perfect, but if you read the majority of the posts, people are happy with the clubs and the CMs in the clubs. You'll always get the few families who don't like it - but if you read some of the repsonses to that post, even families who were on the same cruise didn't have that same experience.
Different strokes for different folks.

Lisa - great job with the fundraiser! Our PTO started this year flat broke with over 5 grand in debt. The treasurer stole all of the money and sent bad checks to pay for the end of year stuff. They actually pressed charges and she was sent to prison earlier this school year. It was a bad situation. Her kids still go to the school. I don't think there will be any field trips this year. They are such nice boys, they should not have to deal with that sort of bad mothering. Since I started my maternity leave I have been out of the school loop but I know they have been fundraising maniacs!

That is just sickening! :( I can't imagine those kids working so hard & being cheated out of their money. :( Someone in JAX here in NC did the same thing.
This one is Zap Snack. http://www.zapasnack.com/ We are up to 8600 and there were some orders turned in right before we left at noon. Other moms were outside and told me that they will bring their orders in on Monday...the absolute last day to turn them in. Usually they only sell 4000 or so in the spring so this one is blowing everyone out of the water. :) We are definitely doing it next year! :) Some people looked at it at first & said that it was too expensive. I coupon shop & stockpile & I bought a bunch of it. The cinnimon rolls are fantastic! They end up costing 1.40 each(10 for 14). They have breakfast sandwiches just like McD's for 2.25 (6 for 13). The french bread pizzas are 2.00 each in 6 packs. They have 30 oz cheese cakes for 18 too. The best part for the kids is that most FRs give a prize for the number of items sold. The child will receive one thing. With this company they give that item as a prize...along with EVERY prize for the lower items!!! ALSO...for every 12 items that you sell, you get a free food item. I chose the $18 cheesecake. :)

Goodness, this is hard having so much cleaning to do here & the internet being up. That darn connection is still on & off even with the ohm blocker & special splitter. I guess that DH will be listening to me whining about that this weekend...along with the motion sensor lights outside that I want him to put up. ;) I have tackled the dining room & living room and am working on the kitchen. The bathrooms will be a battle...why 3 of them???? The family room will be the last thing that I tackle. I am hoping to be done soon after dinner & get into chat tonight. I haven't been able to the past couple weeks because the connection was down at that time. :( Off to do more cleaning!

Can you tell us more about the jump rope for heart? We might want to do something for our school....do share!!!
BuzzBoyMom and other DoubleDips,
Jump rope for heart is an American Heart Association fundraiser. If you go to this site, it is my DS (Lucas-11) donor page:
http://www.kintera.org/faf/donorReg/donorPledge.asp?ievent=130785&supId=122432021

This way the kids are volenteering their own time, which is a bit more than just giving money and getting toys. They learn to give to the community. It's only actually 1 hour long, but all the kids that perticipate feel good for doing it. Plus the whole school doesn't have to do it if they don't want to.

DD's school used to Jump rope for Cancer now they jump for a new Gym floor. The PE teachers always organized it using a simple pledge form. The kids would jump in memory of, or recognition of, someone special.

I have been a cooking nut this morning. :stir: Eliza is being baptized on Sunday and there are about 55 people coming for lunch after church. We both have big families - they are all relatives. I thought I would sneak a few min. in with my computer. Then I need to do some cleaning - blah :crazy2:

I saw that on Travel Channel too. Also, The Wonder is the cover story on April's Cruise Travel Magazine. There's not any information about the upgrades but there are finally some photos of the bunk beds that make sense to me.
I spent all morning going to a funeral for DFLDWDGA (My Father-In-Law's Wife's Great Aunt). The weather is sunny and warm this afternoon but was grey and dreary this morning.
Lillygator, take care with that wheezing. We've been there and it's no fun.

We watch that Magic special all the time when the cruise gets closer. :) I just had the WEIRDEST dream. OMG! We were on the Magic & it was in port...possibly St. Thomas or St. Maarten. I say that because there were lots of those small islands that really look like big rocks sticking out of the water. I was somehow invited to tour a new DCL project. I remember John's wife, Vanessa, & Cristi were there with me. We got in a limo & Roy Disney was there. We drove along the outer roads where you could see the rocks...only there was something different. There were cripts on them. Some had stone trelises (sp?). There were Disney characters carved in the stone on the outside of the cripts. This was their new graveyard at sea. :hippie: This was so that people could spend eternity where they were happiest during their life. They didn't have to die on the ship to be buried there. WE'RE BACK!!! We had an absolutely fabulous trip to DL. Most of the chaparones spent alot of time with adults, or in the parks alone, but DH and I spent the whole time with at anywhere from 6 tp 10 kids with us. We had a ball and they are such good kids. They all call us Grandma and Grandpa now and bought us a Beaty and the Beast Rose in a musical dome as a thank you for spending time with them and showing them around the parks! :grouphug:
The kids did an awesome job with their musical program at DL. At the clinic with Disney music staff they were given music to sight read and play. DrHug was with them and he said that the staff told them they got futher (to more difficult material) quicker than any group they could remember. They also recorded them with scenes from the movies containing the music they were playing. I can't wait to see that at their concert this Thursday.
The kids also did an amazing job when they did their performance at Carnation Plaza. There were several folks watching that commented to us on how good they were compared to other HS bands they had watched earlier in the day.
We got to meet up with Brack twice. :goodvibes His DW, Annette, was in conference sessions so we did not get to meet her, but do look forward to that in Dec. Hi, Brack!
All in all a very good weekend for us. :cloud9:

My DSs both got into Pirate play acting so I had to open up the stash of pirate stuff I had started collecting....we put on our Disney CC CD thanks to Andy and Kristina and they even rented Pirates of the Carribean. Not sure what to attribute it to, but we had fun. Last night when I was trying to figure out dinner my DS asked what Pirates eat....I answered, Pizza of course! So we had pizza last night.

Angie and Dennis,
I see azaleas, and my dogwoods have little bitty buds on them. I think you are going to hit Stone Mtn. just in time. Here's a new thought. They have a small attraction at the park called the "Antique car and Treasure" museum. It's poorly advertised but lots of fun. The "Treasures" include many mechanical musical players. (Think early IPOD) We are talking juke boxes, early record players, organs, and a huge wagon style Calliope. As I recall it is still in working order. The only trouble is, I haven't been in there since pre DH and that's quite a long time. Things may or may not have changed since then. You might want to ask at the gate. Oh yeah, they have cars too.
Lisa,
Thank you for the link. The information on Pixel sizes was really helpful. Hopefully I can fix it in a day or so.
I spent some time daydreaming about the Med cruises but came back to the same reason I'm not interested in Tokyo, or Paris Disney. Why travel all that way for an American experience?

No interest in the med here...the ports of call look way too vigorous for a family like mine with younger aged children. While I would love to do a repo cruise, the timing isn't good and the pricing is ridiculous. You could almost do two 7 day DCL Caribbean cruises for the about cost of the repo and you' d have a lot less airfare in the end. But I think it's great that DCL is trying new itineraries and lucky be those that can try it!!! :thumbsup2

Well, as you can see, DW now has more time to be on the DIS than me . . .
We are both absolutely dreaming about the possibility of those Med or repo cruises - for those of you DVC'ers, they also have a DVC points chart available, and you can make the reservation 24 months in advance. For us it would just about burn two years worth of points - would it be worth it? That will be the dinner time discussion around here for some time to come - at least until April 4th.
Too bad though, no stops in Greece, but this could be an opportunity to visit Greece AND sail on the Magic in the Med - a vacation of a lifetime!! I still haven't counted the coins in the big change bank in the bedroom - maybe I should start rolling quarters now.
Lisa, about that dream . . . did you happen to have any mushrooms with your dinner that night? And if so, do you have any left? :rotfl2:
I had "Good Dog 1" class tonight with Bad Dog #1 - she can join your "bad girl" club "V". One step forward, two steps back.
Nice to see everyone is still jumping in now and then. With DM in the hospital and now in an assisted care facility, and school board stuff and my never-ending negotiations, it has been tough to play around on the web and visit.

The Med cruises definately sound different than the Caribbean cruises. Lots of things to see and do. The repo cruises have LOTS of days at sea. Do you think they'll come up with new shows and activities so that people don't get bored?

Yeah, being bored on the ship probably wouldn't happen. Just my pessimistic (did I spell that even close?) side coming through. Give me a lounge chair, a couple of good books, someone to clean up after me, and cook my food and I'd be good to go. How can anyone say it's overpriced? It's only overpriced if no one goes. So we've really gotten quiet with our posts. Is everyone too busy earning money to pay for this cruise?
I ordered a bunch of white t shirts online today. Some I'm gonna stash for the cruise t shirts. The rest I'm taking to a tie dye party that our church is putting on for some underpriviledged children. It should be fun.
Speaking of - does anyone know where I can get some good deals on stuff to put in these kids' duffle bags for Easter? We're putting together 51 bags of stuff for these kids. They range from age 4 to teenagers. They reside in a children's home run by the Methodist Church in our town (not our Church - but we are all one family, so we're helping them out). The home helps underpriviledged children and these children don't have much at all. We've gotten some local stores to donate stuff, but I can't figure out who else to approach. People have donated chapstick, toothbrushes, candy, pens, tablets, etc. But there's just got to be some untapped organization or store that I can turn to. Does anyone have any ideas? THANKS!

We do a program here called washington mutal bank day. The bank gives the kids free prizes for every other deposit. The point is they always have stuff left over. We have given this year things like; lots of pencial packs, calculators, Big ear earasers, notepacks, this next round is a pack of two folders. Anyway some of the last years prizes were, waterbottles, footballs, and backpacks. I just got a bckpack yesterday, when I asked at the bank for one (I saw a kid at wrestling with one) She had two boxes of 20 left over and gave me one to keep our supplies and prizes in at the school. So check with all the banks for pens, keychains, wistles, small flashlights, Ask at you cell phone stores. My kids all got water bottles last fall. Our smokey the bear place always has pencials, and rulers out in the lobby. Our fish and wildlife dept, sent us posters lanyards, suckerss and round fingernail clippers, (really fishing line cutters) When I called and asked if they had anything free to give out to the kids for a fishing birthday party. Even big corp. usally have free stuff to give out. Have fun Mum

I want to book my precruise hotel stay. It would be one night and we will take a morning flight. Where do you think we should stay? We are not renting a car we are going to get a towncar so I guess we should opt for a place with free shuttle or an indoor pool or something. What are your opinions. :)

Have a good weekend all....
We're off tomorrow to Philly so that my DH can finally see "Wicked". :maleficen (i saw it in DC in January.)
My DD was mad that I get to go again because she wanted to see it too. So we're going to surprise her with a last minute ticket we got for her. (It's only a row behind us and a couple seats over.)
Dogs are staying home but will be well cared for by pet-sitter. :maleficen

Our project for the weekend is a closet in DH office. It is really a bedroom he has commandered, so is a regular closet. It was STUFFED full of all kinds of things (per DrHug) or junk (per me). Yesterday we pulled everything out, removed the shelf. We plan to patch and paint the inside today and then install a closet orgainizer system that we bought at Lowe's. DrHug thought he was buying one that just "pops" in using tension. Nope....it requires drill, screwdriver, and several other tools. :confused3 It also came with PAGES of instructions. :rotfl: :rotfl2: So, we will likely be busy both today and tomorrow with it. It will be nice to be able to orgainize all that "stuff" he has though. We found several things in there that have never been opened that will make nice gifts. :teeth:

It will feel so good to have that new closet set up. :)
This weekend my project was taxes. UGH! I did them yesterday afternoon. I went by last year's returns & was thankful that I stopped doing mystery shopping since that eliminated a couple forms. :) Well, today I entered all of the info into Taxact.com like I have for the past 3 years. I usually match up the total & know that I figured everything correctly so sign the form & send it in. Today I had somehow misfigured one of the worksheets for the Sch D. :crazy2: I have since tried to redo the worksheet twice & have come up with 2 more totals. I have decided to just enter the amount the program says we should use. :confused3 This year was suppose to be easier with fewer forms. They gave me the totals for the NC form too so now I just have to plug in those numbers & that can be sent off too.

Yes .... finally. The trip back across was really long and in the snow again. We did stop at the Grand Canyon for the night. It was great and cold!
We were back in the office for three days and backed up in work. I keep hearing the phrase "No good deed goes unpunished" and taking time off is a good deed that bears a price.
We drove to Dallas Wednesday night to surprise our DS on his 33rd birthday and drove back to OKC on Thursday. Tomorrow we go to Tulsa for the day and on Wednesday we head for camp in eastern Oklahoma. So you can see it's been busy.
Today (our 34th anniversary) has been the first day that I could even read the DISBoard much less post. Maybe in a few days I can show some of my pix from DL.
It was great meeting you guys and riding Soarin' together. We still didn't take that picture together! Next time ....

Just thought I'd let you all know that we hae been very busy also. We have been gone so much that my house looks like a train went through it. :rotfl2:
I have gotten the dishes done, and yes more laundry and more to still go. Its summy here and I just kicked the kids outside. I really need to mop but the boys have the next two days off, of school so I think I will wait tell wed, Oh silly me I'm at there schools wed and thursday. Then were off again on friday to there next wrestling meet. We will be gone all weekend then they have spring break all next week, and dd turns 16 on the 9th. Guesse I should do the floors today or they will have to sit for over aweek. Wyatt got 4th place this weekend and Spencer didn't place at all. He requires a lot of sleep and we stayed up with tthe teem tell after 9:30 on friday and then had to be up at 6am to go do weigh ins and he was shot all day. Well better go unpack more stuff from thisweekend, take out the dishes, change the laundry, fold the towels, wash the floors. Will it ever be over? :confused3 I sure hope I can Get it all done before dinner. Mum

This closet project is not going well... :teeth: ..it's 5 o'clock and so far we only have the lines marked for installation. :confused3 The first one we bought said it was for 5-8 foot closets. This one is 6 foot. What it didn't say was that for less than 8 feet you need to take a hacksaw to it. :sad2: So, we went back to Lowe's this afternoon and bought one that is just for 6 foot closets. Should go better now. Think I should go help him? Or just visit on the boards and supervise from across the room? ;) Better go help, I think. Right after I put on a load of laundry.
Mark, how many more loads of laundry was that before we cruise??

Hi guys,
Busy times for us too. We spent the weekend travelling back and forth from Columbus Friday and Saturday. The HS that Amy and I attended so long ago was in the state final four for the second year in a row in the big school basketball finals. Last year they won state, and they repeated this year! Lots of fun - they are one of the top 10 teams in the nation.
Both nights we grabbed some food and a bit of libation at a place called the "varsity" on the OSU campus (the games were played at the OSU arena, the Schott). On the second night, we had a waitress that we both swore could be Vanessa's sister! Red hair, walked and talked like Vanessa, and similar sense of humor. You have a twin in Columbus Ohio Vanessa, waiting tables at a college bar!
Angie - I would stay at OKW, and take the towncar the next morning. I think we are doing that this year. No more Rad for us! I like my food on the table - not someone else's food in my bed!

DrHug should now (with his 3 6 foot bookcases and this new closet space) have enough room for all his stuff. :) I'm happy. He is now working on orgainizing all of that "stuff". :lmao:

Looks like a busy weekend for everyone...guess it keeps us all out of trouble.
I was painting all of our molding in our foyer/den/living room....and now that it looks so good, I have to continue painting all up the steps...Ugh!!! Who just posted that no good deed goes unpunsihed - that's certainly what I feel like.
Does anyone know how to paint the spindles on your hand rail? Those really need a new coat of paint but that looks like one messy, time consuming job!!
Oh - I did do one fun thing - we tie dyed 51 shirts for that children't home we've adopted in our church. It was a lot of fun. We had a bunch of women and their children meet at this very brave lady's house where she gave children squirt bottles of dye in the middle of her family room. Surprisingly no one really got messy. Although I apparently had a hole in my glove and now have one green finger. Kinda funny. I can't wait to see what they look like.
Okay - everyone have a great week.

ok, we're back....... The furry girls missed us but came through OK....
"Wicked" is a broadway musical based on the book of same name which is a pre-quel/sequel to THe Wizard of Oz. It is told from the point of view from Elphaba (the Wicked Witch) and Glinda (good witch). The soundtrack is really amazing to the musical.
The show was great. Although, it seemed as though the Phila cast was like a second string to the cast that performed at Kennedy Center.
My DH and DD really liked it.
As for Philly, I grew up there, so I don't get too excited when we go. (In school we did all of the museums tons of times but there are alot of them.) My younger sister now owns the house we grew up in (NE Philly) so I stay with her and visit.
We did go with my DSis, DBIL, and DN to the Zoo. The rain (that was expected) was more like mist so we got to see everything and it wasn't very crowded.
On the way home yesterday, we did a little shopping (i found two bathing suits :sunny: so can check that off my cruise list. ) and we stopped at the outlets at Gettysburg. They are turning over some of the stores and getting ones that I'm more interested in.

UGH! Not a nice smell to work in either. Up in VA we had a tree knocked thru the roof of the 2 story building by a tornado that snapped it off. We were on the second floor & after the thud water started pouring in. The floor was just a bunch of short cubicles. It took weeks for everything to dry out. :(

Sounds like everyone is getting ready for spring. It was spring all weekend now it is a cloudy, rainy Monday.
Angie--definately sounds like some pixie dust came your way. John--high school basketball tournaments are great fun, especially when your team wins the title back-to-back.
The swim meet went well for DD, she dropped time in all but one event. The meet was at the U of Minnesota Aquatic Center. It was an AMAZING facility. Two competition pools and a diving pool. Definately larger than where we usually have swim meets. There were a lot of swimmers. I think there were close to 1,000 kids.
We went to the Mall of America on Saturday afternoon. It was busier than I've ever seen it. Between the swim meet and spring break kids, I heard that some of the NCAA games were in Minneapolis too.
I should go scrounge up something for lunch, hope everyone has a good day!

That is strange! The 10 was 3600.76 when we booked 7/05. It is now 3582.04. Of course, that isn't the price we paid for it but I write down the DCL cost to keep track of the difference in cost.

Girl Scouts is driving me insane!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm trying really hard not to have a total breakdown. All I keep thinking is, I'm cruising soon...I'm cruising soon.
You will all think I'm really naughty and I am REALLY REALLY naughty. I checked Royal Caribbean's prices because everyone on this board has been going on and on about how cheap they are. DH and I can go on a 7-day with airfare included for less than $2,000. It just so happens that our 15th anniversary is coming up this fall. A cruise without kids for cheap, cheap, cheap sounds fabulous. It is VERY VERY VERY tempting. If not a cruise I'm building a igloo in Alaska with no phone, no internet, and no mailbox, just me, my family, and my pets.

I don't know if my MIL will join the DIS. I will ask her.
My parents first cruise was RCCL and their second was Disney. They really liked both. They thought there was a bigger selection of food on RC but they loved the shows and kid atmosphere on Disney. The first time it was just them. The second was with the family and grandkids. They were also amazed at how easy it was to get off of the boat when the cruise was over on Disney. They said that it was rotten on RC. For they record their third was with Disney...and I am sure their next will be with Disney. Take that for what it is worth!

Okay - I feel better now...Wait - no I don't!!!!!
Life is just too busy.
See - here I am talking to myself. Fighting with myself as to whether I feel better or not.
Is it Friday yet?!! IT IS!!!! Yikes - I forgot to make lunch for my kids on Tuesday - I wonder if they got hungry?! Hmmm....not sure I even saw them on Tuesday...Wednesday...or Thursday. I wonder if anyone made them dinner...did they take a bath....wonder if they brushed their teeth!
Okay - I'm losing it....Breathe!!!! BREATHE!!!!! BREATHEEEEE!!!!!

So...THAT'S what has been happening!!!! ;) This morning has been spent cleaning...deep cleaning the kitchen. Since we painted the family room before DH left a few months ago, I don't have that room on my list so once I am done with the kitchen...downstairs is done!!! :) Maybe if I close my eyes & think of the island breezes & relaxing in the hammock....do you think that I could convince myself that I was on CC? The kids are playing Aladdin at the moment....so at least they are letting me get some work done. WHY do they let them out of school before Saturday??? ;)

Jordan, you are a LOST girl too! I stuck it out past all the reruns and then fell asleep before I could watch my tape of this weeks LOST, and tonight there are 6 shows on that i watch, so wont see LOST or Amazing Race until tommorrow, and as a matter of fact, still need to watch the last 45 minutes of ER, that I had to see last night as I have three VSH tapes full of shows from this week. AUGH!!!!!!!
Someone really does need to get off that FF button.

It is a beautiful day here in the mountains of eastern Oklahoma. We are at camp this weekend for a youth retreat. The temperature must be about 80, the sun is shining and a nice breeze is blowing. What a wonderful day to be outside ...... then why am I inside looking out? Oh well! :confused3
It will be a great weekend for the kids. Tonight I get to dress up as a rap artist named 50 cent (except I am 15 cent). (MrsMork/DrHug can you imagine that?) I'm sure someone will take a picture and depending on how bad it is then I'll see if it gets posted. :lmao:

We have a birthday party for a 4 yo friend at noon today...hot dogs and grilled cheese sandwiches is what she requested to serve to her guests. :)
This afternoon I will pack for our Atlanta trip - we need to be out of the house at 5:30 am tomorrorw.
This evening we are going to see the Portland Symphony. We have a family here in town that has a very successful business manufacturing dental equipment and they bring the symphony to Newberg once each year for a concert for the community in the auditorium of our local University. The tickets are free and first come first serve at the Chamber of Commerce. A very nice way to give back to the community, I think. This will be the second time we have gone. Should be a very enjoyable evening.

Nothing much going on today. Right now we are watching Harry Potter 4. :) DH got home late last night. We are taking him to the train station tomorrow. Only 2 more weeks before the kids & I go up to DC. :) We worked out in the yard earlier today & are bumming around after lunch. DD has been begging for crab. I need to get some potatoes to go with it. The cleaning this week went pretty well...though it doesn't take long for it to get messed up again. I have cleared soem things out for the school yard sale too. :) I hope that DH is home for that or we will be out of luck. I have a ton of stuff...small jeep thing, kitchen set, tons of clothes, 10" bike and we should be able to add to our cruise fund. ;)

Well I have good news to share and Lisa, it's gonna make you jealous ---- since I currently have a major dust bowl outside in our backyard with the new pool project, I DON'T HAVE TO CLEAN!!! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: I mean, I guess I COULD clean, but why the heck should I clean only to have all that dusty dirt fly back into my house. Now - it is driving me CRAZY!!!! But these guys will finish their part of the project early next week. Then I will clean. It feels awesome. BUT - that gives me time to paint. It just never ends.
So how is everyone? Hope you guys are having a great weekend.
I can't wait to see pictures of that 15 cents dress up!!! (Can't say I ever heard of 50 cents either!!!)
Lisa - enjoy your visit with DH.
And for all those who are getting lots of rain - send some my way around Wed. of next week to wash all that dusty dirt away!! Thanks.

Hello everyone,
Been gone for awhile because life has just been tooo busy lately. Finally starting to warm up a bit, and I've got lots to do both inside and outside that keeps me from being on the computer much.
Penny, nice to see that you are a "switcher" and that you like that new Mac. Did you get one of the new Intel Macs? I've been an Apple user since my Apple IIe back in the early 80's, and although I had a brief Windoze stint here at home - I've been back on Macs since the Power PC days, and hope to get an Intel Mac as our next upgrade.
Keep thinking about that Med cruise and trying to decide if we want to do it. April 4 is the first day for reservations.
Oh, and BTW - Baseball season starts tomorrow - Indians at White Sox - YAY!

Hello everyone,

John
John, I work as a sales staff supervisior in a Campus Computer shop, new job, and the buyer brought in over 100 15" powerbook G4 last fall and we still had over 50 in stock when the annoucement of the new intels came out, so we sold them off for 1199 (1025 US$) to the public and 920 (790 us$) to staff members for the combo drive, but I was able to get the demo which was a superdrive for the same price, I am very happy! And I also was able to get a license of Adobe creative suite CS2. So now I need to learn how to use a mac again and how to use the Creative Suite as well, lol. I had to buy a field guide to the powerbook, I hate not knowing the quick keys on the mac like i did on the pc, never needed to use the menus.
We now have the intel instock now and boy is it nice! I would wait until they get the software issues worked out, and after they do the next apple annoucement, the price is sure to come down after that. Why pay that first blush hype price :confused3 .
Now I need to find replacements for my hoyle card and boards games, but that will be next month, will play trial versions for now. But the best part, I can now play VMK.
My PC is a 533 mhz celeron processor, :rotfl2: , giving that one to Mom, now she can play Slingo and do her banking without having to bug me. She only ever wants to do that when I am already on the computer, now she can do it when ever she wants to.

Hi everyone! Been busy withDad and step mom visiting from NJ. We've been jumping all over for the last week...now I need a vacation!!!!! HA HA. I have lots to catch up on!!!!
Penny and John-many, may (like almost 20) years ago I was an on-campus rep for Apple when I was in college and prior to that I worked at the campus computer store! I loved my Apple but then I moved into the corporate world where PCs dominate. Plus DH was an on-campus rep for IBM in college (we make an unlikely pair, don't we) so between his pressure and the corporate pressure I succumbed and gave into the IBM PC but I sure do miss my Apple. Maybe one day I can return to it!

Good evening!
Just got back from taking DD to Camp Grandma's in south GA for spring break. They are planning to fish, paint, and hang around. We forgot it was SB for everyone else too and spent Saturday going 35-40 mph down the freeway toward Fla. We just got back and the weather is great. Sunny, beautiful, no rain in sight. Pollen has hit however and there is a yellow film on all the cars and any other thing that stands still outdoors for more that a couple of minutes.
Angie, I'm trying to hold the rain off for you. The dogwoods are out, and the azaleas look great! Have a safe flight.

Can everyone send some pixie dust that the rain holds off for a few more hours?!!!! DH scheduled off today and I'm sure everyone knows what it is like to have to reschedule something. Ugh!! Ok - think positive!
For all you moms/PTO parents - this week is that Tastes from around the World Teacher Appreciation Luncheon. I'll be glad when that one is over. I have to be at the school at 6AM to start cooking the Irish Breakfast! Last night I was testing a curry couscous recipe on my family. Isn't life grand! Well, it's like this. It appears that our family won't being going on this cruise with all of you. I have a very, very, very good reason though....................
we will have a cruiser that doesn't meet the minimum age requirement. We found out last week that I'm pregnant and due in November sometime. Not really what we were planning but not really what we weren't planning or we would of been more careful. ;) At least it explains why I have been sooo tired lately.
I'm VERY sad  that we won't get to cruise with all of you, it has been great fun talking with and "meeting" you over the last few months. We do have a the December 2007 cruise coming up (good thing we went for the Cat 3 suite) and might try to sneak one in after the baby is old enough, maybe April. I hope you don't mind if I lurk around, I haven't even been reading the thread since I found out because it made me sad to think about not being with you guys.

On a more selfish note. Why Oh why are you reducing the number of 11 year old girls on the cruise? OK I'm only kidding.
I think that is what my DD is thinking too. She'll still go if you want to take her. Then again two 11yo girls in one cabin, constant chattering and giggling, I wouldn't wish that on anyone. They were most upset that we're not cruising in December. We haven't told them that we have the Dec 2007 cruise booked because we thought it would be too hard for them to wait.

I had to cancel our RCCL Bermuda cruise with DH. The addition is costing a bit more than we had anticipated. Has anyone seen the price of wood lately?!?! :scared1: :faint: It was better than having to cancel this cruise though! :grouphug: I will be one of the suckers trying to book a Med Cruise tomarrow! I hate to fly but really want to visit with DH's family in Egypt again. I think making one flight over and getting to be on the Magic for 2 weeks coming home will be enough to get me on an 11-12 hour flight! :woohoo: I will be trying for a Cat 4. A 6 and 11 would actually be around the same, maybe more (I can't remember now) and I would feel better having the kids in the same room for such a long trip. DH might think otherwise :lmao:

The problum is that then we don't get to camp or go to the lake as much becouse we have st, t-f. I think we would only do two of the meets becouse here we are in the canadian zone and have to travel up there to do our meets. It seems like to far to go for me again. Any way You shouldn't cancel your cruise untill it get to the cut off time, that way you will have all that extra money to spend on diapers. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: You will always need more stuff when it gets closer to to your due date. like diapers, and diapers, oh ya more diapers. :Pinkbounc congrats again

Just thought you guys might like to read it, Mum
Just back from Chac-Chi beach where we spent the day, 3/31/06, having a wonderful beach day. What a beautiful beach-and by far the most relaxing port day our family has ever had. Chac-Chi has a beautiful sandy beach, with aquamarine water stretching forever to the left and in front of you and then craggy rocks through the center filled with tidal pools. There were lounge chairs under swaying shady palm trees, a wonderful restaurant and bar that served great seafood and traditional dishes including red snapper, quesadillas, fresh quacomole with chips, and made to order drinks as well as bottled beer, soda and water. The kids had a blast searching the tidal pools along the shore and building sand castles. Everyone on the pier was looking over and waving, wondering how we had got to the beach since it is obviously the best beach you will see. Several cruise crew people showed up and swam, ate, laid in the sun and played a soccer game.
For all it's beauty, the trick was to actually locate the way to get to Chac-Chi. The locals in back of the port shops told us that there were no taxis to take people to Chac-Chi. Security stopped us several times and tried to route us back to a tour bus or waiting cab to go in to town. Another person told us the reosrt was closed with a big lock on the entrance gate. We were also told by an excursion booth that three fences were put up in the middle of the night (the night before we arrived) and there was no longer a hole in the fence to get through. Finally we paid a local $4 to give the straight skinny on how to get to the place. The local informed us that the Chac-Chi proprieters are good people who are just trying to make a living and can't afford legal representation to fight the pier owner. The pier owner is doing everything possible to garner beach business to his own beach facility to the left of the pier and is furious that the Chac-Chi proprieters will not sell their property to him.
As other posters have told in words and pictures so wonderfully (thank you Cruise Critic members!), just go through the security gate, where the tour buses and cabs go through (you will need to show your sail and sign card on the way back through) and proceed to walk a short distance until you can make your first right. You will be in the parking lot for a local restaurant. Follow the fence to the right and you will see an opening big enough to fit a bicycle through. Be careful, the wire fence is rusty. Proceed to follow the path to the left after entering through the fence. Don't be surprised like I was to see a three foot iguana sunning himself on concrete blocks! Go straight ahead and the road will naturally turn to the right. You are two minutes from Chac-Chi and will just walk straight ahead into the resort.
We went to the restaurant and introduced ourselves to the owners, Joaquin and Maria Rivero Fernandez. They promised us a wonderful lunch when we got hungry and made drinks and had a choice of several bottled beers. Mixed drinks were $5, beers were $3, sodas were $1, a red snapper meal and quesadilla platter with rice enoungh for our family was $10 each. The use of the beach, lounges and very clean bathroom facility was free. They had only asked prior to our arrival that we consume at the resort in exchange for use of the beach. I have some incredible pictures of the beach and resort and would love to share these if anyone would like to see them.
Hopefully if word can spread about this great beach club, Chac-Chi, through Cruise Critic members, Maria and Joaquin will be able to catch up on some much needed restorations and renovations to the palapas and cabanas.
Thanks to Cruise Critic for inspiring this day.

Was the repo cruise really expensive?
I didn't think so - it was less expensive than the 10-11 night Med sailings.
But we did go with the lowest cabin - cat 11 with the four of us for $5406 (one under 3)...
and Stacie - congrats....my Disney souvenier is now 1!!! I am not planning a repeat on this cruise though! I am swamped with 2!!
Angie - you are on the repo right? Have you priced air or anything? My TA waitlisted me with DCL to see what they come up with.He was antipiating 600-700 - which I thought was rather cheap!

:surfweb: I am sitting in the Hotel Lobby trying out my Wi-Fi for the first time. COOOOOL!
Patsy, Thank you so much for coming to meet us and for the great tour. :thanks: We probably would have missed the Grist Mill and the Covered Bridge if you hadn't taken us there. That was very special. Angie and I went back around later. We did have our pecan pie. YUMMY !!! Soory we didn't think about just meeting you in the parking lot. It would have saved you some $$$. Yikes. (Hitting myself on forehead). We definitely think Stone Mountain is a must see.
You both made our travels very special. Thanks for the Pixie Dust.
Now to work on the pictures.
You 'DIS'ers are all such a wonderful group of people.

I'm answering for Jordan (cousin's prerogative) - it's just starting to rain again today... he's happy for our Duckies - we were on a winning streak and he's been at several of the great games. He's busy busy busy as usual.
On another note - anyone booked the Med cruises? I see Vanessa has the repo cruise.... we just booked the 10 day August 8 cruise. Anyone with us? We are certifiably crazy.
Hi Wendy'/Jordan,
Sure hope you guys don't get flooded out again down there. When is the California Sun going to start???
Hey! How about those Ducks? :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:
Sorry we didn't get to MiniMeet with ya at DL. Next time I hope. We have enjoyed all of our minimeets so far.
Well, I better go. I am still sitting in the Hotel lobby. They may be getting tired of me by now. I am ruining the decor. LOL. I am dressed like an Oregonian at a fancy restaurant. Jeans and polo shirt. LOL. They may think I should be working.
7 more to go for 3000. Who is lurking out there waiting to pirate:

I finally have a few hours to spend on my home computer and catch up on all my DISBoard threads. It has been weeks and I am way behind.
DrHug: You can use my camera anyday. :thumbsup2
Who knows I might get lucky and snag the 3K. I never made a milestone like that.

I went out looking at my other subscribed threads thinking someone would show up and let's make it past the 3K mark. I don't want to appear to be too anxious ......

OK just so I don't feel too bad about posting so many times I'll just post some pix from my visit to DL.
This was a really cool Cruella. I thanked her and she said the pleasure was all mine (me not her). :rotfl2:
DrHug/MrsMork: I am still not over the fact that we did not get a picture of our minimeet. What were we thinking?

I took the "In Walt's Steps" tour by myself. Here I am in the elevator at Club 33. They wouldn't let us upstairs just in the entrance lobby. It was still cool to see it.
