An Excellent FREE Downloadable Firewall

Quite by accedent I ran across this site Clnet. they rate and share Downloads among other things. But what I found so Interesting was a Page about Firewalls[my Db computer was Hacked,and it cost a bundle to rid it of the hacked stuff!!] After researching the varies Firewalls I decided to try ZoneAlarm 2.6 after reading all the Cons and a bunch of the Pros.

And I'm pleased to report that ZoneAlarm 2.6 is great!! I have used it for 3 months now with no problems!! It runs quietly only occaisionally asking who I want to access the net[who knew so many functions wanted to access the internet!!] This download is the full program and won't atop working after a week or two!! It is easy to open as it sits in the tool tray,and changing settings is a breeze.

I have no affiliations with ZoneAlarm 2.6,I just wanted to share how it's worked for me.

Zone Alarm was a nightmare for me! We tried it twice. My computer would not work anything close to normal with this program installed. I'm glad you've had success with it, though!

Under PRograms you need to tell ZoneAlarm what it is you want to have access to the web!! Once I had set those settings everything has worked great!! Also there is a box you can check so ZoneAlarm asks you to choose each time a program wants to be let out to the web or into your computer from the web.

Also with some DSL ISP's you'll need to set the security level to medium. They have excellent tech support.
