OK, it's not like I don't own a crock pot --- heck, I own 2 (both about 17 yrs old). But I never used them anymore (except for heating things for parties) because I'm gone longer for work than the food takes to cook.

Well, all these threads of crock pots lead me to looking at new ones. NICE NEW ONES!!!!!

I got myself one where the liner comes out to be washed! :D
AND..........it has a timer. Set high or low in 1/2 increments......and when timer is up....it switches over to warm.....until I get home! :teeth:

Now I don't need to worry about what time I'll get out of work....and will I make it home when the food is done & ready to be shut off. :teeth:

OK, I'm craving chicken stew right now.

Oh, I got this one: http://www.rivalproducts.com/eStore/product.aspx?CatalogId=5&CategoryId=1214&ProductId=8786 in chrome for only $39.99 at BJ's Wholesale Club locally.

Wow! That's a deal! I'll have to see if I can get one after Christmas. MIL always gives us money - I wonder if I can get DH to go halves with me? ;)

I saw a couple buying that crockpot this weekend. I think it is neat that it is digital and everything. And you can't beat the price.

I gave in too! I bought the 6qt one Kohls had on sale Friday for $29.99. The funny part is I don't even cook!!! My husband laughed when he saw it!
Anyway, it sounded so good I thought I'd give it a try...now I just have to look for some easy recipes, I'm sure once I start and see how easy it is I will be making home cooked meals more often. (and my phone gets a rest..lol) :)

I used it Saturday. Made chicken stew. YUM! DH remarked how tender the chicken was. I don't cook normally either. Man, cutting up all those veggies was a pain. LOL

Need to find EASY recipes I can throw together in the a.m. before I walk out the door.

Use canned potatoes & the baby carrots - or defrost a bag of frozen carrots. ;) Yeah, fresh is better but I sometimes use the canned ones. No one here ever complains, although they might if that's all I ever used.

I just thought about this, but last year I got a new one because of th boards also. I love the fact that my newer one comes out and I can wash it. That's what I hated about the old one.
