Princess Scrapbook for little girl’s Wish (long)

Fellow Scrapbookers and Disney Lovers – I need your help! I have been asked to make a princess scrapbook as a follow-up to a little girl’s wish, and I need to get some help making the pages.

Charlotte’s Story:
Charlotte Anne Stokes, a 4-year-old little girl who is currently in remission from life-threatening cancer, made a wish to be a princess and have a party. Well, the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Michigan threw her quite the royal celebration. She was picked up in a horse-drawn carriage, taken to a golf resort for her royal feast, where she sat on her throne, overlooking the party. Over 1,000 people in the Detroit area came out to bow and curtsey to the little princess. It was all over the news and internet! The Scrapbook:
I have been asked by the foundation to make a scrapbook for Charlotte and her family to help them remember their special day. I had originally thought it would be mostly Disney princesses, but the foundation has some other requirements. I’m afraid that, financially, I’m not able to do it all myself, and I don’t want to turn this project away.

My Plea:
I am hoping to ask a few dedicated scrapbookers out there to help me out by creating a page or two for the book.

Guidelines:
I have already started a 12x12 album, so that is the only page size I can accept for this project. Charlotte’s favorite color is pink, and she loves all things fancy and relating to princesses (not just Disney), so those elements need to be incorporated into the pages, possibly including flowers, royal looking decorations, knights, white horses, crowns, castles, etc. I am hoping the pages will be very luxurious and girly! The foundation is requesting that some pages also incorporate 8x10 and 5x7 spots, since the family will likely get these size photos as well. They would also like a few spots for the parents to include journaling (possible on “scrolls”).

The pages need to correspond to the activities of the Princess’ big day:

1. Receiving her princess gown
2. Getting her hair done
3. Getting her crown
4. Riding in the limo
5. Horse and carriage ride
6. Parade
7. “Princess Charlotte Anne Stokes” day
8. Fairy godmother
9. “A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes”

A few additional guidelines as a response to questions I have been getting:

1. I am using a top loading album
2. Please pre-mat the photos in either 4x6, 5x7, or 8x10 size (or any combination of those
3. For journal boxes, you can either leave blank space on the page or create a box/shape with lines or obviously left for journaling

Deb - 2-pg spread on crowns/make-up (one 5x7 space)
Franne - 2-pg spread with pink/purple
Carrie - 2-pg spread with "A Dream is A Wish Your Heart Makes" theme and the Fairy Godmother (one 8x10 space)

I got some awseome paper and stickers and such last night. I hope to put my pages together this weekend! Very nice change, as I'm basically finishing up scrapping teh same trip for the 3rd time! (My book and books for my niece and nephew)

This is going to be so fun. How about taking pictures of or scanning the completed pages before sending them to Megan so that we can get a feel for the finished product?

I received two packages yesterday, one from Spinning and one from FantasticDisFamily.

The pages are beautiful. I will try to get them on my 2Peas section, and when I do, I will post on here again.

I got a big mailer from Make A Wish yesterday (asking for donations, of course) and it gave some really detailed info abotu Princess Charlotte and her wish. I think they are so proud because so many people in the community helped out with this wish.

I can't wait to send the book in to the Foundation. Thanks again!

Just a short note to let you know that I also received the pack from Carrie (wtpclc). Love your LO!!! Great idea to add lines to the journal boxes. I think I might do that to the rest of them. I guess that way it is more obvious to Charlotte's family what they are for.

Also, thank you so much for the supplies. I'm thinking of taking a day off of work to finish these to get them mailed out to the Foundation by Monday at the latest.

One other item to note (specifically for Carrie and Karen): It looks like I will have a few leftover supplies. I will gladly return anything if you would like it back. If not, I will be using them for other Make a Wish Disney pages, if you don't mind. Please let me know what you would like me to do.

What a nice looking album and it all flows so well together. DO you have enough pages? I know you needed them by the 10th but I could do a few more on Monday and send them out on Tue. Just let me know!

Deb - I think I should have enough pages. I added several more page protectors than what came with the album. Make a Wish did not give me a page count, so I think what we have done is good. I definitely appreciate the offer.

I had asked the Foundation about making Disney-themed pages and collecting them to put together for families that have a WDW "wish trip," but they said they didn't need that. (Yes - I was sort of surprised to have my volunteering idea turned down, but no matter...)

I would suggest that if you are still in the mood to donate pages, go to 2Peas and seach the message boards for Make A Wish or MAW. There is a woman on there who collect Disney themed pages for the same reason (that's where I got the idea). I believe their pages are distributed to families in NC. They collect pages, supplies and books. I have sent in pages to them before, and they keep a website (can be found in that woman's signature on the 2Peas boards) to update people on their progress.
