yeah for me, arrived in Florida yesterday. I have a couple of days to sort out housing then have to drive to Pittsburgh to collect soon to be DW Jana and her DS Gus, when we'll then be driving back to Orlando to start a new life. Little bit nervous about starting a completely new career, but it's exciting to have a fresh start.

Hope to meet up with lots of you guys in the future.

I'll be driving for the next 6 days  , so I probably won't reply for a while.

Very best wishes, Vernon - I hope everything goes to plan. When are you and Jana getting married, and what's the new career you're embarking upon? Is your dd with you? Hope I'm not being too nosy.

You must be very excited. It's been a long time in the planning: I'll bet you can hardly believe it's actually happening.

Wishing you all much happiness.

Wow!! How wonderful!:teeth: Best of luck out there Vernon... I'm not jealous in the slightest! :p

Some friends moved out in summer (Fort Myers)... with 6 kids! ... they seem settled now, but it was a big culture shock for the children at first.

When you changing your signature location then?;)

All the best,

Mike

When are you and Jana getting married, and what's the new career you're embarking upon? Is your dd with you? Hope I'm not being too nosy. Hi Deb, Hopefully we'll be getting married next week. We had the idea of making a big day of it, but there are so many things that are going to be easier ( and cheaper) to do one time (which would have to be done two if we waited to plan a "day" ) that we're going to just get married ASAP.
The career is still a little up in the air, there are a few things I'd be interested to do, but I'll have to wait and see what is available. I spoke to a wine broking company that work in the Orlando area that I thought sounded interesting and something I could do well at. Basically it's dealing with individuals who are interested in building up a wine cellar and need help in sourcing and planning setting up a selection of good wines. Part of it would be giving advice and help in choice of wines as well as how to store it etc.
Neither daughter is coming to live with me, Older DD has just started at university in Leicester and the younger one will be living with her mum , but coming to visit us for various holidays.

Thanks to everyone else for the kind wishes, I'll try to make sure the good luck gets put to good use.

Sorry for any confusion, I was using Jana's PC and forgot to check in under my name

Wow. I hope it all goes well next week. Lots of love and hugs to you both for a great day, however you decide to do it.

The wine broking thing sounds great - I hope that works out for you. I would so love to do that. And in Orlando, too! My two favourite things! Are you trying to make me jealous? ;) Do you have any qualifications in that area? I would describe myself as an interested amateur, but it's something I could get into big time if I knew how.

I'm obviously getting confused - I could only remember you having one dd. I think I probably met her at an Essex DIS meet a few years back - I'm guessing it must have been your younger dd. Anyway, lots and lots of love and best wishes to all of you for your futute together.

Only a lifetime of entertaining clients in bars and restaurants :D , like you I'm an interested amateur and would like to push the idea further.

Quick update on things.

Jana and I got married on Dec 3rd. Like the incurable romantic I am, I was wearing shorts and a Tee shirt and Jana was in jeans and a polo shirt. In my defence, we thought we would have to wait three days from gaining the licence to actually committing the deed, but the person there said as all our ID was from "out of state" we didn't have to wait. We asked the girl how long the delay was and she said we could do it there and then !!! We had a quick chat and decided that we would go ahead and get it completed as there is still a SHED load of things to do (driving licences, jobs, Fl residency, work permit etc etc). In keeping with the romantic and big spending image our wedding dinner/celebration was pizza and a video at home. This was because we were both pretty tired after driving from Pennsyvania and a week of running around like mad things. We did a small celebration the following night with dinner at Gulliver's Grill in the Swan/Dolphin (With Pluto and Goofy) and a movie at DTD. More in Depth celebrating will follow once we are both off the Atkins diet that we started this week.

More importantly Jana had an interview today with Disney for a job there. Due to problems getting her hair licence transferred she has decided to take a job at Disney and we will decide further down the line if she'll stay on with them (the benefits are excellent), try to make use of her hair skills once her licence is completed, or try to do both. She's taken a job in the mousekeeping department at the Carribean Beach Hotel. She has training/induction on tuesday and will start work one day next week. Good job one of us is working :O.

Things are getting sorted out slowly, Computer is up and running today, answer machine might be working, printer is being checked as I type. I can't wait for a day when I wake up and don't have a list of "must do" things that takes up more than half a piece of A4.

Thanks for all the good wishes and hope to see some of you in the near future

Vernon and DW Jana :D:D:D:D :lovestruc :cat:

Good point Mike, I'll set about changing my details in the next couple of days.

Thanks Tim for the offer, she seems to have settled in pretty well. She's working behind the bar in some bar/nightclub 3 nights a week ( well she's going to be in one anyway, she might as well get paid for it LOL). I'll mention it if she needs anything to drop you an email. Thanks
