Ok, I admit it. I'm not a "true" coffee drinker. I'm a coffee snob. At a minimum I have to have flavored liquid creamer. But better yet is a cafe mocha with a shot of raspberry! I'm staying at BWV, but with 2 little ones we'll be up and at the parks plenty early, too.

Where to get my morning jolt?!?! Or do I need to buy some amaretto creamer when I get there?

Shel :)

As a Starbucks addict, I have some trouble at the disney resorts. Some of the sit-down restaurants will make you a latte or cappucino, but I haven't had much luck at the buffets. Most of the deluxes put out strong coffee, but I haven't seen much in the way of creamers. The only place I found with good hot coffee drinks like lattes was at downtown disney. I think it may have a new name now, but it was called something like forty-thirst street. I think there are also places in some of the moderate food courts.

I had a somewhat disappointing conversation with a CM at the GF concierge desk, which was slightly illuminating about why they don't have any cofee shops.

Me: Is there anywhere I can go to like a Starbucks drink?

CM: Starbucks is not a disney company, so no.

Me: Well, even if not starbucks, a place like it?

CM: I don't think so, but I don't drink coffee.

Me: Interesting -- you know those places like Starbucks are very popular, one might do well here in the resort.

CM: (Defensively): Orlando is a hot-weather city, so there is no much demand for hot drinks.

Hmmm. Ok, thanks, I said.

I don't know about you, but I drink coffee wherever I am, hot climate or not. I have heard that you can get good coffee at the Kona cafe at the Polynesian, although I've never been there. We usually just buy the yucky stuff that they have at some of the counter service places in the parks. There is also a bakery on the Boardwalk. Maybe their coffee is drinkable.

LOL, this is WDW not Starbucks. They are starting to serve more lattes. Best I have found is at the Fountainview in Epcot. Also serving excellent coffee drinks in the Swan hotel. ::MickeyMo

I'm a Starbucks addict. There is no great coffee at Disneyworld. But after 3 or 4 mornings of no Starbucks....the place mentioned in Downtown Disney will do.

My children get to live if DH and I get good coffee in the morning.:teeth:
We live in Houston where it is just as hot as Orlando. Disney doesn't need to partner up with Starbucks but it would be nice if they had more little coffee shops around the parks.

Yeah, obviously, the "warm weather" thing was just what he said to try to make me go away. I wasn't suggesting it was a legitimate thing to say. (Starbucks, for example, does exceptionally well in Phoenix.)

Try the Kona coffee at Poly. It's really good!

There are also "specialty coffee" carts in Epcot and I"m sure some of the other parks as well.....

yes - right in front of Ellen's energy adventure and I believe between canada and England (london/whatever)

also - France makes a good cup of coffee.

Press Pots at Jiko/Boma are very good as well.

I've found the trick with "regular" WDW coffee - extra cream. I don't particularly LIKE cream in my coffee - but it's the only way I can drink it down there. (of course - after the 3rd day, I'm used it)

Starbucks coffee really doesn't do it for me...the "regular" blends are good, overpriced, but good. The lattes and such are a nice treat, but never something I'd want to drink daily (way too fattening). There is a Starbucks on City Walk at Universal...so they do exist in Orlando.

but give me Dunkin Donuts any day!

AKL concerige lounge has a wonderful expresso and cappacino machine -- and no I don't mean that disgusting powered stuff you find at gas stations.

We are not staying there on this time and that is what we will all miss. My whole family (kids included) are Starbucks fans.

Also, the Casual Restaurant at AKL, Mara has the same Cappucino Machine. However, the best is at the Orlando Premium Outlet Mall... Starbucks. After a couple of days, we just have to go there!

If you end up at DTD, make sure you stop by Earl of Sandwich and order their Kona coffee. It was wonderful!

Okay, I think the cappucinnos at the Boardwalk Bakery are awesome. I would give it a try. Also, if you are at DTD give Ghiradelli a try, they make some yummy coffee drinks.

We have given up on coffee at Disney. We bring our own bag of Starbucks with us and buy the flavored cream to make do. We are staying at BWV (in 4 more days!) and I just bought our bag of ground expresso today to take with us.

There is a "Cup of Joe" coffee stand on the Boardwalk just in front of the resort but it doesn't open until the afternoon. Go Figure!

Friend told me she'd get her cup on the Boardwalk next to the Sweet's place at the bakery.
I know there's a stand by the gift shop there that opens late afternoons.
At MGM -- 1. Right after you enter MGM on the right hand side there's a little coffee stand, 2. After I ride Tower of Terror (there's a little stand there as you exit the gift shop).
Haven't found a good place for AK or MK yet.
Most likely, better luck where there's table dining.
If you want to try just a plain good cup of coffee - Chefs de France at Epcot - the aroma!!!

During out last stay at Boardwalk the coffee bar was open down on the Boardwalk every morning. I got DH a fresh steamed cocoa and myself a very good mocha. Tubbi's is also great for coffee. If you like regular coffee with flavor added you could get a small bottle of flavored syrup (I've seen "travel size" ones at World Market) and some good cream and do your own drinks too.

I believe the Contemporary has a coffee bar as well, on the ground floor near the escalators and front desk. Haven't tried it though.

The CR does have a nice coffee bar on the ground floor. It is around the corner from the front desk. Great coffee there:D

Mara has the same Cappucino Machine

Is that something new? I didn't see it last year. Can you get it with the refillable mugs?

Espresso was a big concern of mine also, being from the Pacific Northwest. :)

We just got back from our WDW trip from Nov. 9-22.

We stayed at POR and Polynesian.

POR - nothing. Supposedly there was a push button espresso machine where they sell the baked goods at the food court but it was out for repair and the lady said was being delayed - they had no idea when or if it would be back. It's still advertised on the board but it's not available.

POLY - espresso counter on top floor of Grand Ceremonial House near doors where you exit/enter from the monorail - it is also right near the Kona Cafe. Although the espresso drinks are made from a push button machine the CM operates, they were semi-decent IF the right person did them. Don't ask me how someone can mess up a push button machine but one CM managed it on two different days. One was extremely weak and the next time WAY too strong. Maybe the machine is fickle depending on whether it is overworked. This one is a hit-or-miss.

At the GF Cafe, my sister ordered a cappucino and when it arrived, the foam was topped with cinnamon in the form of a not-so-hidden mickey. :)

Room service at the Polynesian, you CANNOT get Kona coffee - only in the Kona Cafe. Room service pot of coffee is Columbian. Nothing special but not that horrible Nescafe garbage.

MK park - forget it. Get the espresso somewhere else before you get to the park.

Epcot - has Fountainview Cafe which is a real person using a real espresso machine and packing the fresh grounds themselves. Epcot also has two carts we found that seem permanent. They are also the real deal, not a push button machine. One is when you walk through Innoventions towards Mission Space - it's to your left immediately after you get through the Innoventions breezeway. The other cart was between Canada and England in the WS.

We were also happy to find a similar cart right outside the entrance to AK park. To your right when you get off the parking lot tram.

MGM we go to Starring Rolls Bakery right next to the Hollywood Brown Derby. This one we can't remember if it is a push button machine or if they pack the grounds themselves, but the beans are ground fresh there. I did see the one after you exit the shop at TOT but didn't check it out.

Typhoon Lagoon also had a cart. When you get inside, past the area where you rent lockers and towels, and then you cross the bridge toward the main wave pool, it is a bit more toward the right side of the park but not very far. Again, can't remember if machine or hand packed but I think hand packed grounds.

DTD - Fourty Thirst Street does not have a store anymore, but they do have a cart. Park/enter DTD near the AMC theatres and Planet Hollywood walkway and just walk straight back toward the water. This is the real deal stuff.

I asked at Epcot and at TL. I also asked about Fourty Thirst Street. Some CM's have no clue but just keep asking until you find someone who's in the know and will point you in the right direction.

The carts I described (Epcot, AK, TL and DTD) were the best we've found at disney. I would go to one of them before I would go to the Kona coffee bar or anything at a food court. I also prefer them to french press coffee. I save the french press (GF, Kona, Jiko's/Boma) to have after dinner with a sweet dessert. But for AM espresso to start the day I would definitely find one of those carts!

Rhonna :)

PS - we had incredible weather and low crowds. :)

Being an addict to starbucks cafe mocha, Ghirdellis (sic) in DTD has an excellent substitute as well as Kona cafe in the poly

Oh yea! I'd forgotten about the one at the AK before entering the park.
Well, I'm headed down there Sunday and I can see now I'll be on the lookout for every cart.
I'm just back from Seattle where every corner has a coffee place so this ought to be interesting.
What's really sad is that the best coffee at any entertainment/amusement/water park I've ever had is at Universal - no matter where I went I liked their plain Arabica bean coffee - go figure.
P.S. side note: I also liked Universal's almond-smelling soap over disney's arm and hammer dry grit. (I know these 2 items have nothing to do w/ one another, but it's the 2 things I really liked at Universal over Disney - LOL)

Just back from Disney and Fountainview Cafe in Epcot had good cafe mochas. At Animal Kingdom I got a good Cafe Mocha at the place right before you get on the safari ride (can't remember the name of it sorry). It also had awesome cinnamon rolls. And a tip: there was a LONG line standing at the outside order window, but if you go inside, there are about 3 more cash registers to order at and the lines are much shorter.

You're talking about the Tusker House - yep go inside, but if line is long inside go outside there usually isn't one then - I never understand that.
