Does anyone know if the restaurants will ship refrigerated menu items? My husband's b-day is coming up and he loves zebra domes. Any chance I'd be able to get some? What about other unique Disney food items?

Thanks for any advice.

P.S. I don't trust my cooking abilities or I'd try to make them myself.

Somthing may have changed by now. Three years ago, I asked at the Norway bakery if 1/2 dozen cinammon rolls could be sent to our room (OKW). After asking the manager, we were told they cannot ship food.:(

I haven't known of Disney shipping any perishable items such as Zebra Domes. The quality and safety of the item may be questionable after shipping.

Making individual Zebra Domes yourself is time consumming. However, you may consider making a large cake in a springform pan, using the basic filling etc. to at least get the taste of the Zebra Domes.

You can probably get a few packaged items such as Mickey pasta and chocolates through Disney mail order.

If you are looking for glazed nuts Nutty Bavarian (http://www.nuttyb.com) is the company that supplies the carts and they have a mail order division.

The Cheesecake Factory (http://www.cheesecakefactory.com) ships it's famous treats. They are expensive but nice for a special occassion.

They wouldn't be very good. Mousse really needs to be consumed fairly quickly, and the spongecake on the bottom would either get soggy or dry out.

The thing with pastry is it needs to be fresh. When we dined at Boma the zebra domes were not at all fresh - and were not good.

I don't know if Disney recipes are copyrighted or anything like that, but could you take the recipe and a few pictures to a local bakery and see if they could make them?

Thanks for the input, everyone. I hadn't thought of the freshness problems with mousse and sponge cake.

Margie J, thanks for the ideas and links. I actually have a large dome cake pan so your suggestion of one large zebra dome has me thinking. I'll look into the nuts, too. There are a couple cheesecake factories where we live so we can get those yummy treats anytime :)

Try this link...

There are lots of WDW recipes here:

I made the 50's Prime Time Cafe S'mores at a dinner group last week and everyone loved them.
