What exactly do they do?

I know you all say you have had great room stewards, but what exactly do they do? Do you all clean your rooms up before you go out for the day or if you leave it a mess do they move your stuff around and clean up after you? I just was wondering how this job works? What things have they done for you besides the animal towels or REAS pkg and such?:)

My family and I are sloppy. So, most of the time I make sure all the garbage is in the garbage, any sheets that need changing and any towels that need replacing are all in the bathtub, shoes are all in the closet-etc.

I leave the vacuuming, bed making, toilet cleaning and counter wiping to our cabin steward.

If you are blessed with an "excellent" one (as many are), they clean everything! I once walked in and found Ana cleaning the connection between the desk and the mirror with a toothbrush -
spotless clean!

I pick up and move everything to where it needs to be before they come to clean. That way they only have to deal with the beds and the bathrooms. I guess I would rather know where I put stuff than to have to look around for where someone else might have moved it.
