Well, looks like I'll be checking this thread on a regular basis now as I just booked a room at the YC for 3/5 - 3/9. Although I'm not hopeful, as March is peak season.

Yes, Yes!! let's keep this thread going. I booked March 28- April 2nd on regular codes. My first time with AP and no codes. I was just there in Oct. but had e-mail code.(same as AP). Room only have been out a little while now. Where are AP's?

I know, don't tell me, AP's are not for sure. But an AP holder can hope. I already justified cost with 2 trips ( breakeven 8 days entry). But would like to show Hubby more savings so he agrees to future AP's.

Count me in too! We will be there the week before Easter. Last year we went the week before Easter and had an AP rate. I was surprised that they offered one for peak season. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for this year. Good luck to all!

I'm going in March and hope they come out with AP rates. I don't have an AP, but I'm a FL resident and the FL rates usually follow the AP rates.

Do they usually have discount rates for deluxes in March? It will be our first anniversary and we would like to stay in a deluxe. We currently have reservations for POFQ and the only deluxe I've stayed in is CR multiple times.

I have a question. Is a AP rate like a code rate, in that as long as you book the room before the date expires you get it for the whole time or it's only certain dates.

Only available certain dates, certain room categories....... We find out when they announce the dates and we call for "availability". Sometimes we're very happy, sometimes not! You may have to have continuing reservations also in order to get the AP rate for all your dates.

Book at the AP rate - don't have to "show" it until check-in (even then there are times they don't even ask to see it!).

I personally have never been less than 90 days (or much more) before an ap rate has been released, when we were going. So I'm hopeful that it will be soon. usually between 100 to 90 days seem to come out, as the norm for me.  ;) So keeping crossed and hoping for around thanksgiving.

Hmmmmm. . . Interesting that making reservations for the room only discount code expires Dec.1 -- About the right time frame for Disney to assess their occupancy rates for Spring, and then offer an AP rate.

If not by Turkey Day, am thinking sometime in early Dec. for sure.

Thanks to the smarties on these Boards, I booked a public rate of $114 a night at Carribean Beach. That was a good rate and I am glad I have it, but am holding out hope that AP rates will save me a few dollars more. I thought it was too soon for discounts for March -- wasn't even going to check until January! Luckily I saw otherwise. Let's all cross our fingers for the AP rates.

Public rate is available for the general public-current code BDP exp on Dec 1st (I think) and currently runs until April 16th.
We used this code for our BC CL stay in March '05.

I don't think there is a public code available for May yet. Keep watching.

Was pretty sure that soon after the BDP code expired (12/1), Disney would run the numbers and shortly thereafter (like 12/4 or so), offer AP room discounts through Spring '05.

Now with this new Magic Your Way ticket thingy, think Disney will let this set it a little before offering AP room rate discounts.

I've been holding off buying our park tickets until I saw what/if the AP room rates would be -- we aren't going enough days to justify AP by itself. Only worth it with a room discount.:flower1:

kimmar067
12-03-2004, 07:00 PM
...I wholeheartedly agree with you! I've got to really sit down and 'do the math' on PHP vs. MYW. As far as a deeper discount with an AP, I doubt it will be enough to justify purchasing an AP. Besides, if I can save MORE moo-lah on my passes, it's 6 of one, half-dozen of the other!

mkymouse4ever
12-04-2004, 08:29 AM
Seems like I missed alot, not able to get on the boards since the change. :earseek: AOL? Sorry I didn't abandon you guys.

We still have to go AP though cause we are going 18 days in march, and want to return in October or December and use it for another 2 weeks+. Come on AP rates.

MAYBE just maybe, wdw is doing these "new" tix & packages, to get people out of the "ap discount" group? Used to be, before the boards, few people knew about it, or had it, we went twice a year 30+ days (and no one suggested it over the php to us.) So maybe if alot of people go with the "new" tix we will maybe get better discounts? Years ago, 35 to 40% was no unheard of.

Lets all think positive. You never know. MKY princess:

Buckeye, Mousesavers does NOT always "know before the rest of us." From what I recall this past Spring (when I was dying to make Poly reservations and dearly hoping for good rates), the Boards and Mousesavers were "simultaneous" in their announcement. I think Mary at Mousesavers relies on reports from the trenches just like we here on the Boards do... So when I am waiting for rates, I check BOTH.

That's what I was thinking, too. Still think there will be an Spring '05 AP room discount code, but whether it'll be substantial enough over the BDP rate to justify us buying an AP -- compounded with the change from PHP to MYW -- made me nervous.

So, I bailed out of the wait and ordered 4 day PHPs from Hotwire. They arrived today (super fast service!!!!), and now I can sleep at night.

I really don't think the discount will be much over BDP anyway. We already have the AP's, and every bit of savings counts. Even if it's just $10 less a night, I'll be happy.

Yes, I agree with you. Hey, I'd take $10 less per night!!

The AP discount would have to be in the $30+/night range for break-even (we're going 6 nights and the AP would be about $190 more than the 4-day PHP) . Although I'm doubtful that it's going to be that much or more, hey, if it is, then I could keep my hopper ticket and have a good excuse for another trip in the future.

PolyHereWeCome,
I really don't think the discount will be much over BDP anyway. We already have the AP's, and every bit of savings counts. Even if it's just $10 less a night, I'll be happy.
:D
....but $10/nite savings isn';t enough to justify purchasing an AP in the first place! :guilty:

No, Kimmar, you're right. That wouldn't be enough to justify an AP---unless you want to plan another WDW trip within the year. You would only have to buy one person in your group an AP in order to get the room discount, however, if that would make a difference in your calculations. Food for thought! :D

Bumping up. will be going in the spring.

My guess from past years is the codes will come out in early Jan. Highly doubt anything comes out before Christmas, slight chance between Christmas and new years. At the first of the year is my guess. But Disney changes things up so you never know for sure.

Do most of you make your ressies before the codes come out and then call back to apply the codes after? WHO do you make ressies with to be able to do this? Directly with Disney? How about Swan/Dolphin...I used an agent for my last trip but would like to do it myself this time...Thanks for your patience with the beginner questions....does anyone know of a thread that can explain "how to book yourself and save the most $!?) :earboy2:

I always make my ressie first right through Disney & then apply codes later. That is with a Disney resort though.

I have never booked at the Swan & Dolphin, but I called regarding rates once & if I remember correctly I had to call the Swan/Dolphin direct for any info & reservations that I wanted to make. I cannot remember ever seeing any codes for the Swan/Dolphin - but someone correct me if I am wrong about this! :flower:

Called today---nothing yet. The CM says he expects that there will be AP rates, just not yet!

The Swan is full for my dates, but out of curiosity, what are their AP rates like? I originally had ressies there, but the teacher rate didn't look that good, so I cancelled and went with AKL.

What's an AP discount?

Staying @ Pop Movies from March 20th-26th, 2005

"AP" stand for Annual Pass, which allows you unlimited access to all the parks for one year. I think that if you plan to go to the parks for 8 or more days, it's a better deal to buy an AP than Parkhoppers. Some people who like to go every year buy them, then schedule their trips one week less than a year apart, making the AP's a good deal. Disney usually has some room discounts for people who have AP's. They only release a certain number of discounted rooms, so you need to call in a timely manner when they are released. Also, only one person in the party needs to have an AP to get the special rate, so sometimes, if the discount is good enough, it pays to buy an AP for just one person, just to get the discounted room rate.

Hope this helps! Welcome to these boards---you can get lots of advice around here, that's for sure!

The AP also gives you free parking at the 4 major parks if you are staying off site & 10-15% off lunch at several of the resorts & most sit down joints in epcot.

Just returned & looking for AP rates for April & November 2005.

So do we all think that any AP rates will come out sometime after 1/2 when the dust has settled from the new MYW rates? That would be my guess.

I wish the AP rates would come out for 2/24!!! I have ressies at WL, but would love to go to Poly if the rate was right. :charac2: :charac2: ( I know, cry me a river--I have a really good rate with BDP at the WL--I am having second opinions of not staying at a monorail resort)

Does anyone happen to remember when the Spring Break span AP rates were released last year? We're not planning on going, but AP rates could possibly change our minds.

I looked on Mousesavers.com for the chart that shows when the discounts came out in past years, but I couldn't find it. Going on memory alone, I swear that last year the spring break rates came out right after the New Year -- I think that first Monday after New Year's Day. I think that is when I called and booked rooms. Anyone else?

buckeye
12-22-2004, 01:56 PM
Yes, they came out on Jan.2. Easter was in April, though, so I don't know if that means the AP rates might be released a couple weeks later this year.

Yes, Yes, Yes!!!! :cool1: :flower1: :rockband:

I just called and asked for annual passholder rate. CM didn't ask me for a code. I got POFQ for April 1-9 for $104 per night. CM said Values are $74 per night. I asked about standard at WL and she said not available for my dates. So I don't know about deluxes. Good Luck and call quick. I just saved over $500 on my 8 night stay!!!!

BTW: CM seemed suprised when I asked for the rate and she looked in computer and was like "Well, yes they are there." She asked me what the date was, so they must have been pending for the 27th. :jumping4: :jumping4:

I'm on the phone right now - code is BEX!!! :Pinkbounc Saved almost $30 a night for our February ressie & $25 more a night for our April ressie. We had applied the Winter code/room only rate for the April ressie, but the AP was better!! :jumping4:

Good luck everyone!

We just called for the AP rate (we arrive on Apr 27th) and were told by a very nice CM that the code ends on APr 16th. Kind of makes sense since the other code also ended on Apr 16th I think.
Anyone hear otherwise? What are your dates?

I didn't have the code either. I just called & asked if AP rates had come out & if they did could they apply them to our existing reservation. After all was said & done I asked for the exact code so I could relay the information to my friends at the DIS!!!!!!!

Rebooked at the WL for 3/16/05 - 3/23/05 woodsview $170/night. Only saved a TINY bit since we were booked at the winter rate of $175/night. I asked about the Contemporary - $317/night tower, no standard available and the Poly - $286 garden view. We really want to be on the monorail but I don't know if I can justify the huge price difference. Bummer.

She couldn't find the rates until I gave her the "BEX" code and then they came up.

As others experienced, the CM said they were only out until February dates but once I gave her the code, she said "yes they are" and was very surprised...thank goodness for the DIS. I feel sorry for them that we know more than they do...it must be very frustrating for them. My rate is $104/night for the POFQ - March 5-12th. Good luck everyone.
