Have you collected any of them yet? How many do you have?
I have two, one thanks to disneyvactionmom  , and the other thanks to Tim Horton's. No hug, but I'll take a large double double please! :teeth:
I've ordered a couple of rolls and first day issues from the mint, so Santa can put them in my Dad's stocking. ;)
No, I haven't tried to rub the colour off.

The World's First Coloured Circulation Coin.
On October 21, 2004, The Royal Canadian Mint, in partnership with the Royal Canadian Legion, unveiled the world's first coloured circulation coin. The 25-cent coin features a red poppy, the symbol that pays homage to the 117,000 gallant Canadians who died in the service of the nation.

None here but that could be b/c we don't go to Tim's anymore :( too risky to take little ds with his nut allergies! So unless I get one from the grocery store or ditch ds and treat myself to a Tim's decaf tea I won't be getting one any time soon!!

These coins are lovely and a testment to our Forces both past and present. I believe that no matter how far into the future we look, we must NEVER forget that it was the sacrifice of members of our Armed Services, both in the past and today, who help give us a future. Nov 11 is just a week away, please wear your Poppy in rememberance.
Well done, Royal Canadian Mint and Tim Hortons.:D
On a lighter note, Photobear Sam...
....we know someone who won't be getting one, don't we? You know that particular someone who 'can't see what all the fuss is about at Tim's'. Its probably something he wouldn't understand about anyways, as its about Canadian pride !!
Bits n Bears Mom, pm me with your address and I'll send you one, if you can't get one or get someone to go for you!
Have a nice day everyone!!

I have a couple of them ... when I got them though, the colour seemed faded on parts of the poppy. The red isn't nearly as bright as the picture that Snowwark posted.

Cool Coins!
I'll have to get DH to get a few for the kiddies when he is up there.
Are they in regular circulation or do you just get them a Tim's?

We finally (after last night) have 2 of the coins but it took us about 8 different Timmies stores to finally get a 2nd one. They are so nice though and will be added to DH's coin collection and also for our new baby granddaughter.:D
This is just as bad as "Roll Up The Rim To Win!":teeth:

I heard they're only available at Tim's right now (and through the Canadian Mint) ... I think in a couple of weeks they'll go into regular circulation.

I stopped by Tim's 2x today for coffee. I saw a sign on the inside of the store that said get them at Tim's or go online to www.mint.ca. So I made sure I asked for 2.
They are very pretty!

I live in Moncton (Tim's capital of the world) and I go almost once a day and no poppy quarter, I want some for my 3 boys and my dad who is a Korean War veteran. I'll keep trying, feed the addiction, I'm not a real coffee drinker, I'm one of those "Cafe Mocha" kinda gals!

Keep trying (and asking), Langin! You should tell them about your Father! :)
If you're still unsuccessful, let me know (PM me). I've been inspired by wenabre's generous offer to B&B's mom! :) That was so nice! :)
As Marilynn mentioned, you can order them through the Canadian Mint. I received my Dad's 'stocking stuffers' yesterday. :)

The poppy quarters were also available though the Canadian Legions. I got a roll of them. I now have about $5 left.
