Hello everyone!
We (DS9, DD7, myself) just returned from our Universal/WDW trip and had a wonderful trip!!
We stayed at HRH from 10/21-10/23 on the club level.
We checked in @ 9:00am and our room was ready!!! My kids recieved blow-up guitars & a got a CD with a mix of music. We brought our bags to the room, grabbed some waters & donuts and left to Universal. By the way we had the white comforters & not the green ones.
Our room was clean & I didn't notice any defects. The front desk staff was very friendly as well as the club level staff.
My son got a birthday gift in the room, which consisted of Milk & Cookies, Spiderman bubblebath, a rubber duckie, a hard rock basketball & a Scooby Doo beanie baby.
We rented cabana #1 on Friday for the Dive-In movie (which was Haunted Mansion) and it was great, except it didn't have a phone. A guy came and said the connection wasn't working, but the Beach Club servers checked with us often, so we really didn't need it. Our cabana had a bowl of fruit and 8 drinks (2 cokes, 2 diet cokes, 2 sprites & 2 waters) along with towels & chairs. We had lunch in the cabana, which was good and I had a couple Blue Suede shoes.
The pool was alot of fun and I even went down the slide a few times.
The offerings on club level were usually the same for breakfast: Donuts, muffins, pastries, fruit salad, cereal, bagels, toast (I may be forgeting something). They had sodas & water all day. In the evening one night they had: puffy chips??, vegetable tray & dip, cheeses, chicken skewers, egg rolls w/dipping sauses & beer & wine. Another night they had: fresh tortilla chips w/salsa, vegatable tray & dip, cheeses, mini quesadillas, beer & wine. At night for dessert: Oreos, Chips ahoy, white chocolate, fudge cookies & sugar cookies. Another night they also had brownies.
Well, that's about it. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Good to hear a good report for those of us that are going there soon. I was getting kind of nervous.
What room did you get? Good view?
Was there a Club discount for the cabana?
Thats a good haul for the birthday boy!

That's a wonderful review...we'll be there next week. I was getting worried since there have been so many negatives posted lately. My daughter's bday is when we are there...I have told them and even called back to add a roll-away bed and they even mentioned that my daughter will be having a bday!
Glad you enjoyed your stay!

Thank you Katie, great review, super details :) Wondering what time the lounge was open for breakfast and what time for appetizers/beer/wine? Was there only one type of beer/wine? Is there a large screened tv in the lounge? Thanks.

More questions if you don't mind--Is the club lounge ever "closed" or is it open 24 hours? During non-food hours, are there drinks (water/soda) available?

Those of you who have stayed club level and standard-would you say that it is worth the extra expense? .......Thanks for your help!;)

Glad you had such a good time !!! It's also nice to see a positive review about HRH Club !! We're staying there 12/20-12/23 and I was getting pretty worried with all the bad reviews !! I too am curious about the opening and closing hours and the beer/wine selection.... and were you replenished often with what you were drinking ?? Thanks so much for writing the review and helping us out !!!

Hello! Sorry it took awhile for me to reply.
Motherfletcher- I was in room 7047 (I think) and it had a view of the water taxi area. It was close to the elevators and lounge & that's what I requested, so I was happy. Yes, I got a discount for the cabana. It was $50/a day for the regular. My kids wanted a themed cabana ($75/day), but we were there for the dive-in movie and the themed get blocked by the screen.
FrannyK & PoohBear- The breakfast offerings were from about 7-10am (not positive), evening offerings were 5-7 & desserts were 8-9:30. They do have the times posted outside the lounge. The lounge was always open when I passed by, but I'm not sure if it's 24hours. They had 2 wines selections each nice usually a white & red or blush wine. Then they had Heiniken beer, Bud & Bud Light. They may have had more selections of beer, but those are the ones I noticed. The food was always replenished and never ran out. The lounge staff walked around during the evening asking if you'd like more wine or another beer.
It's not a large screen TV in the lounge, it's about 24" I'd guess.
Dizma- It depends on the price difference. I got a discount on the club level & only paid $60/night more than a standard view & I thought it was definately worth it. I got half off our cabana which saved me $50. I didn't have to buy any water during our trip, I didn't have to pay for breakfast, for dinner I only had to buy dinner for me and my son to share, because we were never hungry enough for a full meal & my daughter eats like a mouse, so the club offerings always filled her up. Also they got a little tricket for turndown each night & my kids felt special using our room key in the elevator. Also, we got to borrow CD's & you get to use the fitness center for free.
Hope this helps!

Katie: Thank you so much! Just what I wanted to know :)
May I ask where you had dinner at night, any recommendations for us w/teens? I know many have recommended NBA City w/teens. Also, did you make any dinner reservations in advance before your trip?

We try to eat at the Hard Rock Cafe at least once. It can be very loud and rowdy. Last month when we were there there was a lot of dancing on tables, birthday parties. I love the way the wait staff all get on tables to do the "YMCA." Its a lot of fun.
I like NASCAR too. We arent even big NASCAR fans, but we like the restaurant.

One night we ate at Margaritaville and another HR Cafe.
My kids are 7 & 9, so I can't really give a teenagers point of view. But they really enjoyed both restaurants. Margaritaville had a stiltwalker who made balloon animals & hats. My kids had no idea who Jimmy Buffet was, but they still enjoyed watching his concert on TV.
Hard Rock was good, but loud. I think it would be great for teenagers.
I didn't make reservations for either. But I did show my room card & it got me in quicker.

Wow - I was logging on to ask the very same question - is the Club Level worth the price? Thanks to everyone for their input. Does anyone else have an opinion? We are going for the first time and, realistically, we won't be able to go back for a while. I am wondering if I should just spurlge on the Club Level. We would definately make use of the offerings. What do you think?
Thanks for your help!

it depends on rate of club vs garden view
my decision was easy:
gv @ $160 + cabana @ $100 =260
cl @ 230 + cabana @50 =280
