i gained 2 lbs...im so upset..ive been eating good and going there 4x a week...sorry , just had to vent..i get measured on the 11th of november

It may be that you're building muscle, which weighs more than fat. A better indicator is how your jeans fit....your clothes will get noticeably looser after a few weeks at Curves..keep up the good work and don't get discouraged!

I'll bet you lost inches instead of pounds. I'm so proud of you for going to Curves 4 times a week. You sound very committed and determined. That attitude will help you along the road to goal.

thanks so much..im sorry if i seemed like i was complaining..i just get so discouraged....im going to work out again the next couple of weeks and i get measured on the 11th

Is TOM coming up soon??? That always adds a few lbs of water weight for me. :rolleyes: Did you weigh yourself at the same time of day? That can also cause a lb or 2 flucuation in your weight.

I started Curves at the end of Sept. After 1 month, I had lost 6 inches!!!!!! That is absolutely amazing for me! And I only get there 2 to 3 times a week. PLEASE stick with it! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc You will see results when you are measured.

Jen,

Hang in there!!!! You're exercising a lot. That is VERY likely the heavy muscle replacing the lighter fat. Watch your measurements when oyu go for W&M. You'll get there!!!!

Thanks guys...so sorry if i seem whiney!! When i got weighed the first time it was the morning..and when i weighed myself last week it was the afternoon..so maybe that does make the difference..
it was a week after, so it may still be a little water weight
i went today and did a really godo workout...so i get measured the 11th..thanks guys!!

Jen - I can vary 3 to 5 pounds between morning and night! So, that's pretty good!

Hang in there, Jen. Another Curves member here - I only get weighed there when I also get measured - I found that it cuts down on the anxiety! (on the other hand, if I don't appear to lose much at my weekly WW weigh-in, I know that I've probably lost inches.)

That really stinks but look how awesome you are - you didn't grab a candy bar or a bag of chips AND you're still working out!!!:Pinkbounc That's great!

A little off topic - how do you like Curves? I've been thinking about going for a while and just never have because...I'm not sure. Is it really that different, is it really just a 30 minute workout?

Hi Jen,

Hey don't think of it as you gained 2lbs - because as another poster said our wgt can fluctuant dramatically from morning to night - I'll put money that you have lost inches and that most likely means you have lost unwanted fat lbs and gained(those 2lbs) of lean lovely muscle tissue!!!


In the world of weight lose I am such a SSLLOOOWWW loser and sometimes I get discouraged because the pounds are just melting off DH and seem to be hanging to me - but I am in this for the duration - for life and eventaully I'll get to my goal of a size 10! no longer looking for a set wgt just a size. Many may feel that this is still large but to me I know this is were my frame looks best!

So hang in there!!! I am positive you will succeed!!!!!

Jen - How'd it go? I'm struggling over when to W&M. My day is the 11th, but I'm getting close to TOM. So, we'll see. Hope your W&M went well! Remeber, you'll lose inches before pounds at the begining!

well i got weighed/measured today..not that happy..

i lost one inch off of my hips
and 1 inch of my abdomen
and i lose 1% of body fat..
i gained 1.5 lbs, but its going to be my favorite time of month next week :rolleyes: so dont know if that has anything to do with it...

thanks guys..im just kinda bummed because i see everyone else get great results

Jen - If TOM is next week, you're holding water. So, you're weight is probably up. The fact that you lost inches when you should be bloated is great! TOM is next week for me and the scale and my pants are not my friend at the moment. Hang in there. Try to weigh at a better time of the month next time (not necessarily on the exact day you're suppose to).

Remember - it can take ~6 weeks to see the real results. You are replacing lightweight fat with heavy muscle. I know a month is a long time to wait when you're discouraged, but it WILL pay off!

Your loss of inches at this TOM is a victory!!!!!!! Congratulations!!!

Jen - My worst time for bad eating is after a bad W&M. That does not help anything, trust me. So please do not get discouraged.

My big whoosh was around the 3 month mark. My first W&M came after ~2 weeks of "vacation", can you say gain? I stuck with it because week 2 of "vacation" was for my father's bypass surgery. All went well, but he was in better shape than me. So, I kept it up. Had a small loss for 2nd W&M. Third was awesome, though. Your hard work will pay off!

You lost 1% body fat and two inches??? That's great!

Don't worry about the scale, concentrate on your size. Sounds like you are doing great to me.
