Hello!
This is my first question here and I'm hoping to get responses. Thanks to everyone, I have learned a lot on these boards. My family is going for the first time in July--there will be eight of us! I would love to try Priceline for hotel rooms. We are not looking for any specific hotel but I'm worried about "guaranteed room for 2 adults" only. Is it possible to call the hotel and perhaps "buy" an upgrade in some instances? What about using air mattresses in the worst scenario? We have a couple from staying over at relatives' for a week. Would this be allowed? We would be looking to bid on two rooms. Budget is an issue. TIA!

Priceline only guarantees a room for two people, and there is a chance that you will get a hotel that has only one bed in your room, especially at two-star level or many hotels in New York City, even at 4* level.

That said, for Orlando the likelyhood is not very high, as most hotels have far more rooms with two beds than with a king (or worse: a queen) only. But: You are accepting the two-people-only rule when you bid on Priceline, so you MAY be stuck with that also in Orlando.

If you need help to determine the amount to bid, you may want to check:
