Hi. My family will be staying at Royal Pacific in March. How much should we plan to spend each day for meals? This is just a quick getaway for us (4 days, 3 nights, 10 meals total), so we don't need to make any meal an event (as in characters and shows, etc.). One, maybe two, table service dinners.
All I want is to avoid fast food chains and carbohydrates. Is it doable for less than $120 per day? We are myself, DH, DS12, and DD10. Thanks.

We just got back from RPR
I planed on 75.00 a day for 3 of us. Usually came pretty close to that, maybe went over a few times.
We are not huge eaters. Myself and my husband usually split an appetizer or a meal for dinner and our daughter ordered her own meal.
I also am not a huge drinker. I would normally get a soda and my husband would get a beer.
We never brought any food such as breakfast food to eat in the room, but I imagine that would be a huge savings.
By no means did I count the pennies, If we wanted something we got it, It is just we normally do not eat very much even at home.

If u have an AP u will save 15% on food in parks and 10 % in citywalk I would say though your budget is okay although at hotels its can be pricey but NBA Nascar etc on citywalk are pretty reasonable as is margritville :jester:

Mythos has the best low carb meals. It is on a separate menu, so if you don't receive one ask for one.
Are you planning on eating 3 meals a day? What we like to do is eat breakfast in the room (breakfast bars, yogurt tubes, etc). This allows us a larger budget for lunch and dinner. I would say on the top end we spent $140 a day when eating all 3 meals in restaurants. Latin quarter in CW has very reasonably priced meals at their counter service window, I don't know about sitdown.

Take your AAA card if you have one. You get 10-15% off at the restaraunts with it or an AP.

I usually try to bring breakfast food with me, not only for saving money, but for saving time as well. We can eat & get ready at the same time then head off to the parks earlier. I bring bagels, peanut butter, cereal bars, dry cereal..we eat lots of carbs as you can see. Then with our AP we do save the 15% in the parks, which helps, we also have the sponge-bob refillable drink thing(mug if you want to call it that) & that saves too. I bring my own water bottles & snacks for the parks (fruit snacks, crackers). You can also eat a big late lunch to save on an expensive dinner. At dinner time, you can get something light & cheaper. We go often so we cannot afford to go out to eat at expensive places every day, every tirp. If we were going say once a year we would, but when you go every 6 weeks or so (to either Disney or Universal), you have to save on the food end of it.... the way I look at it, the less money I spend eating out, the more often I can go ::yes::
