Best fare was $114 a long time ago. Anything under $200 isn't bad.
Start checking the fare sites. www.orbitz.com , www.travelocity.com & www.expedia.com they also have options to sign up for fare alerts.
I usually buy tickets direct from the airline to save the service charges but it's easier to find the fares on the other sites.
Welcome!

Depends, if they are the times you want and non-stop flights that's not too bad.
You've still got some time to watch fares, I usually don't panic unless it starts getting within a couple of month's of departure.

leaving DFW 5/26/04, returning 6/05/04, $210.70 on AA
I went ahead and bought the tickets at that fare. American Airlines is suffering because of fuel prices, so I think fares will only go up.
However, if Southwest takes the Delta gates, and they have a MCO route, fares could go way down. (But I don't believe we could be so lucky as to have SW operating out of DFW.)

Can you fly from LUV?

Hey there! We always go to WDW around this time. Last year I think we paid around $175 RT on American. The year before, we paid about $115 RT on Delta, but with fuel prices, I don't think I will find this great rate again :(
Missy, I thought Airtran was taking over most, if not all, of the Delta gates...????
Assuming Airtran does take over, I think they will give American a run for their money. We used them for Feb - purchased tickets within 10 days of travel and still only paid $164 RT. Hubby hates Airtran, but if the price is right..... :)

Like my neighbor Missypie said, $210.70 is the rate for AA these days. (I work for them and just checked)
Airtran does offer direct flights out of DFW to MCO. Usually right around the same rates as AA. Airtran will probably be expanding at DFW when Delta pulls out. Southwest may consider going to DFW to fly longer flights out of the area, but DFW is so big, taxi times a up to 20 mins. That would hurt their dependablity. Getting to MCO on Southwest requires at least 1 stop. Most likely in Houston or New Orleans. When you try to book it on the Southwest website, you have to book two transactions as it will not allow you to purchase a direct fare. Book DAL-HOU/IAH or DAL-MSY then HOU/IAH-MCO or MSY-MCO.
Good luck and have a great trip.

I'm going next week for $176 RT on American. I bought the tickets in Sept. I checked expedia.com everyday for about a week before I bought them. The lowest I got was $167, but the exact dates of my trip weren't set yet, so I missed out. Then the tickets went up to $210 and I was like, "no way." I waited a few days and they went back down to $176, where they stood for at least a few weeks after I bought the tickets. Oh yeah, I got the tickets at aa.com for after checking Expedia to cut out the $5 service charge.
Honestly, I would wait until it's closer to your departure to buy tickets. I don't think you should have to pay over $200 for tickets (Trust me, I've been checking fares for over a year, trying to estimate how much I would have to pay).
It's been my experience that if you buy the tickets a few months prior to going as opposed to 7 or 8 months that the prices will go down. Of course, that's not taking into account rising fuel costs. But I still you should be able to get a better fare than $210. I'd wait awhile.

Well last night Delta had fares of $147.90 per person well into June. I was checking myself for fares to start Memorial Day weekend. The fare was good for any day of the week. Sometimes it is worth it for us to drive the 2 1/2 hours to DFW. But I didn't book it last night and today it was gone.
I am sure they will come out with something close to that or about $158 which is what I am used to seeing. The next time I see it I will definetly book it!

Id wonder about Delta. You will probably have to make a connection in Atlanta. After the first of the year, there will only be 21 or so flights. Thier Hubs are Atlanta, Cincinatti and Salt Lake and most of those 21 flights will go there. You might get lucky and they may keep 1 or 2 flights with direct service to MCO.
That is a great price though!!!

We flew r/t 6-11 Oct on Airtran for $147. Our flight to MCO was through Atlanta but return trip was direct flight.

It was definetly with stops in Atlanta, that was part of the reason I didn't book it. That and the fact that I feel pretty confident that I will see the $158 fares through American and it will be a non-stop flight. Hopefully it will be soon. I will be sure to post here when I see them.
