Hi, a friend of mine is going to Disney next month and is considering using a babysitter for an evening. Can any of you recommend someone for her to use to watch her kids (ages 3 and 7)? Thanks.

personally, I wouldn't want to leave my child with a stranger. They may have all the credentials in the world and be wonderful people, but to my little boy... she's still a stranger.
I've always thought that Disney should be a FAMILY vacation. I can go out to eat with my DH at home and leave my son with someone he knows. :) Just my 2 cents.
That being said, I'm sure others will tell you of their good experiences.

My boss recommended "Anny's Nanny's" (407-370-4577) to me. We made ressies to do it because we wanted to do PI, but when we got to Orlando we chickened out and went DTD with our DD (she's our only child, would have felt better if another child her age was with her).
I also heard that Fairy Godmothers (407-277-3724) and ABC Mothers (407- 857-7447) are good too.
Here are some others:
All About Kids (407) 812-9300
Kid's Night Out (407) 827-5444
KinderCare (407) 827-5437
SuperSitters (407) 382-2558

Oh geesh. Not another one of these threads .... I hope the poster gets the valuable information she is looking for rather than being scolded! This topic always seems to turn bad!
Anyway .... I have heard great things about Fairy Godmothers. If you are nervous you could opt for an adult dinner at your resort (not sure where you are staying?) so that you are close by.
I have never used a sitting service but I plan on using the Kids Club this time.

WDWO...you read my mind. That is exactly why I disregarded that comment and kept to the topic. :)

Thanks for the replies. Again, its a friend of mine that is going. They (her and her DH) will be staying at the All Stars, with their two boys, age 3.5 and 7. She's not set on the babysitter idea yet, I just thought I'd give her some recommended ones if she decided too.
I'll be lucky enough to have my parents going as built-in babysitters for my baby when we go next december.

Thank you, wdwobsessed, for being much more diplomatic than I was planning to be regarding unsolicted opinions. Well said.
I have also read good replies regarding Fairy Godmothers.

Speaking as someone who has used Fairy Godmothers several times, I find them to be a wonderful service.
While we enjoy our "family" time, DH and I also enjoy reconnecting over a nice long dinner now and then, something you can't do with a toddler in tow.

Oh, and another thing: We almost always get the same sitter from Fairy Godmothers, so she's not a "stranger" to my son. If you go to Disney on a regular basis, you can cultivate one of these relationships.

Okay, thanks, I'll recommend fairy godmothers to them. It'll be their 10th anniversary when they are down there too, and WDW is where they went on their honeymoon, so they want to spend a night reliving some of their honeymoon (like going to the Comedy Club). Thanks again.

Thank you wdwobsessed!
A few years ago we were at Disney for my sister's wedding. My DD was 6 and in the wedding but my twin DSs were only 2 and not invited. Yes it was at Disney, but a wedding is very expensive and my sister chose to not include children. She had the right to have the wedding that she wanted. We used two sitters for 4 kids. It worked out fine and the women were wonderful.
It really makes me mad when people comment on using a sitter at Disney! There are many reasons that may require people to need a sitter.
