I am planning to start listing some things too and would like to know the answer as well. I have sold before with accepting checks and money orders and would like to add paypal to it, but am not sure how it all works (I tried reading the site info and I THINK I kinda, not really, understand LOL).

You upgrade your PayPal account to the next level, which is free. You'll need to go through their verification process in which you provide your checking account number. They add 2 deposits of small change amounts to your account. Once you see how much the 2 deposits were, you notify PayPal and then they know you who you say you are.

There is no fee to upgrade, and once you do, you can accept credit cards. However, you then have to pay their fee on every amount you receive which is something like $.30 plus 2%(??) You can still send money for free.

One thing they didn't tell me which I HATE is that I can no longer pay for items with my credit card. All payments come directly out of my checking account or PayPal balance.

You can pay any method you want. When you go to pay for your item and it shows your checking acct, click on the other option for your cc (it will show as your back up funding). It will ask you, are you sure you want to pay for item this way. Click yes and you are paid thru your credit card instead of checking. You would have to do this each time.

Just a note to say that you do not have to upgrade to the account that takes credit cards in order to accept payments. A personal account can accept non credit card payments which many sellers still do.

I read it too and it's not explained in a "sesame street" type fashion so I can understand !! :jumping1:
