Just wanted to let you all know!

I just got the FW cabin for $160 including tax... I was hoping for a little better than that... I am going to see what the other code in morning brings for a discount. to see if it is worth an AP
BUT it is better than the CAA rate.
Took $714.56 off my stay!
:bounce:

Yes, they are out but I had to insist that the CM check for me. She didn't want to. Unfortunately, for my marathon stay they only had Concierge and suites available with the discount. The AP discount code is EWV.

Hope this helps some other Canadians get a room. I'm going to keep calling back.

mousy_in_canada- that is quite a bit shaved off your total. Nice.

I just called and was told the AP rate is only out for dates up to Feb 16th. :( I guess I'll call tomorrow for the "room-only" rate (code BDP) as it's almost as good as an AP rate...and beats my current CAA rate.

Thanks for the heads-up. :)

Do you know what the rate will be for the room only.. I am trying to decide which would be better since I am not going back for a few years.
TIA

Last time we went through this for this November the AP rates were a bit better (maybe $5.00 night) but the availability was better for the room only. I know this because in just two weeks I'm going to Disney and for my weekend room between DVC stays we got the Contemporary with a room rate when there wasn't any available with the AP rate. I'm really hoping that this is going to be the same because I need a room only rate for my WL stay this January.

Right now I've got it for $199 a night. I'd like to save a few dollars over the 5 nights.

Let's hope tomorrow some rooms will be there when I call.

Have a magical day everyone!!:sunny:

Just so I get this straight for when it gets time for me to book (hopefully going late Sept 2005), the steps I should take to book the room are:

- call and book whenever dates are finalized at the AAA rate
- call in to change rate when the AP rates come out (even if I don't hold an AP yet)
- call back again when the room only rate comes out to see how it compares to the AP rate

Did I get it right? :D

I call and book at rack rate first. Then I call when CAA/CAA Rates are released and then again when the AP or Room-only rates come out. Usually it's the AP rate first but for our trip next March the room only rates are being released before the AP rates. So I'll call for the room-only code tomorrow and then call again when the AP rates are released (only because I have an AP for this year). Isn't it fun. ;)

So you actually need a code to book the CAA rate too? I was under the impression that you automatically just get a discount if you are a CAA member...I guess not!
Lots of steps to take to get the right rate...but worth it! :D
This room booking thing is an art!

You don't need a code...just ask for the AAA rate. They may or may not ask you for your CAA number so have it handy.

Isn't this fun? ;)
