rack rate

can anyone tell me what the "rack rate" is on a hotel? do i call the hotel directly to find out what it is? also, does the rate change seasonally?

Rack rate is full undiscounted rate (similar to sticker price for a car). The rack rate may change with the time of year. Usually (for non-disney hotels) you can get a better rate (AAA,AARP,hotel special rates, entertainment rates etc.)
