US/IOA package deals?

Has anyone booked or done one of the package deals that they offer? I was quoted a little over $1,800 for four of us (2 DS's are considered adults) for 4 nights.

I currently have 4 nights booked at HRH in Feb. for $202/night (hoping to get an entertainment rate ;) ). I've checked into park passes (3-day tickets) and they will run $380 total.

Does it make sense to book one of the packages? Are there "hidden" advantages to them? I know they include a dinner and a few other "trinkets".

I'm really looking forward to our trip. DS's (14 & 11) think I am so cool :cool: to be booking us here. I want everything to be great for us, and the more $$ I save now, the more we can splurge with there!!

We booked a package through AAA for the week of July 4th. It was just easier than hunting for the best rates. Everything was arranged by our travel agent. We used the free dinner, did NOT use the free movie passes (too much fun at the parks). You can probably go a little cheaper booking on your own, but not having to put in too much time getting it all together was importatnt to us.

Did your pkg have a coupon book included? Ours has one for $250.00 worth of discounts.

We didn't have a coupon book. We had vouchers for Mears to and from the airport, free dinner at HRC or a few other restaurants. a free camera, a free picture taken at the entry, $10 worth of merchandise at the Universal Store, and free tickets to a movie.
