Sounds great Kaylee.

All those staying at the Thistle - Anyone fancy meeting in the bar anytime between 12.00 and 1.00 for a pre-meet drinkie?

We can discuss how we can cheat at the quiz.

I do not think we'll make Exeter before 3.00pm , maybe a little later, then we need to check-in and sort out parking. Will you all still be hanging out at the The Mill throughout the afternoon/early evening?

Not sure how I missed this. Hmm, let me see, pre-drinks drinks. Well, it would be churlish not to. Anyone want to meet me at 11.00 for a pre-pre-drinks drinkie? :teeth:

LOL! What are you going to do: hang around with the engine running waiting for someone to check out? It'll be like that Nissan Micra advert. I'm very good at arm wrestling, you know! :teeth:

Houston, we have a problem!

On the way back from picking India up from her dance class tonight, the lights on the car were getting dimmer and dimmer. We just about made it home when it conked out completely.
It sounds suspiciously like an alternator problem.

We will attempt to get it fixed first thing in the morning. Failing that we will have to hire a car for a couple of days. Either way, I'm not sure what time we will be arriving. Hopefully we will still be in time for the pre-meet drinkies. We could be doubtful for the pre-pre meet drinkies though!

Fingers crossed it's nothing serious Kev!

Does the car not know, never to stand between a man and his beer ;)?

Definitely sounds like an alternator problem Kev. Is the battery light on when the car is running as that's another good sign?

Good luck getting it fixed, mine went a couple of months ago and I had to wait 2 days for the part to arrive :(

Alan.

We had a lucky escape car wise!

The engine light came on and stayed on Wenesday - big panic as I was going off on a business trip to Leeds (in a hire car though).

Our car needed a service and it's first MOT and Alison managed to get everything dealt with yesterday at very short notice and work was covered under the warranty.

Phew!

Now - we are going to be down in Devon for the entire week and just noticed that it's an hour drive from where we are staying to the meet - off to ponder options etc.

No worries - we'll be there one way or the other.

We too are setting off before the crack of dawn - a good 4 hour plus drive in front of us.

...... good luck with the car problem Kev.

We don't reckon to arrive at the hotel until around 3 - 4.00pm. hope there's a parking space at that time  !
