What would you do?

Would you make ressies at Rainforest Cafe or wing it. We are arriving Sat. at POR and I thought it would be nice to take the boat to DTD and have dinner a 6pm but I may not want to tie us down to a certain time. Will we get in without a ressie? Or should I just make one and if plans change cancel it? Your opinions are appreciated Thanks:wave:

I say it's better to be prepared! Make the PS... you can always cancel if crowds are light and you feel you will not have trouble getting in somewhere.

I typically go at lighter crowd times and I'm always glad we have that PS when I hear the wait times they qoute walk ups at some places!

I'd make one just in case. My exp with Rainforest (even the local one) is that waits are very very long. Last time we dined there, at our local one just on a Sat, the wait was 2 hours long. They are pretty popular, and the DTD one is always packed.

Besides, make a PS for a time you are sure you'll be at DTD by, and then remember that you will have PLENTY to do while waiting for your time. DTD is a great place to blow off time =)

I was very disappointed the last time I dined at the RFC at DTD. Food was just so-so and so was the service. I would strongly recommend the House of Blues. Excellent food & service.

I don't think you can make a PS for the Rain Forest in Downtown Disney. You can for the one at the Animal Kingdom, but I'm pretty sure they don't take PSs at DTD.

You can make a PS for the Downtown RainForest, you just have to call the restaurant directly.The number is 407-827-8500 You can make a PS with them at 90 days out.

And I would DEFINTELY make a PS ahead of time, especially for a Saturday night.We went on a Thursday night, and those who did have have PS's had a wait of over 2 hours.I was SOOOO thankful for our PS.
Like another poster mentioned, you can always cancel the PS if you change your mind.

We always have a blast at RF. It is my youngest son's number one choice !
He loves their shrimp pizza.

We made a ressie for RFC at DTD for our June trip, and we were really glad we did when we got there and the wait time was 2 1/2 hours without a ressie but we were seated immediately. We eat at RFC almost every trip - we always have a great time there!

Absolutely make a reservation. The RC in Downtown Disney is usually very, very crowded on Saturday nights!

Definitely make a ressie. Last time we were there we didn't have one and tried to get in. There was no way. There was a line out the door and over an hour wait. If anything, try another DT restaurant, there are a few good ones to try. Not so sure this one's worth the wait. We ate at the one in An King, it's nice but not a must see for me.
