Just had my first avocado last week and was really surprised how good it was. I've eaten guacamole, but never a fresh sliced avocado. Does anyone have a recipe for guacamole, or can you tell me other ways of preparing them.
I sliced it down and ate it on buttered toast for breakfast. It was really good.

I love to use fresh avacado on wraps, sandwiches and salads. It goes great on a turkey sand. Try them on lots of different things. Diced on white chili... in shrimp salad (just sprinkle with lemon juice so they don't turn brown! Enjoy!!

You could put it in temaki sushi-(rolled sushi). You could put it in a sandwich or even eat it with some brown sugar and soy sauce.

Easy guacomole recipe - avocado, small dollop of sour cream, small dollop of salsa. Stir. Maybe add lemon juice. Taste.
Soooo easy!

Thanks for the hint on the lemon juice. I cleaned two last evening and this morning saw they were a little brown. Now I know what to do to take care of this.
Is that all I need to do to make guacamole? Wow how easy.
Thanks again!!!

I have always made my quacamole this way...hope you like it if you give it a try.
Couple of avocados
fresh diced tomato
salt - to desired taste
diced onions - only if you like them
garlic powder - just a bit at first, more if like it stronger
squeeze lime - this keeps the avocado green and it doesn't turn brown right away.
Great on tortilla chips!

We've always just sliced and sprinkled with a bit of salt and lemon juice and ate. Nothing fancy...

Mine is the easy way for those who are recipe-challenged!
The salsa contains the onions, tomatoes, etc. - I don't know what the sour cream does!

I usually just eat them out of the "shell" with salt pepper and lemon or lime.
I do quacamole several different ways depending on my mood and what I'm eating it with. My fav way is
finely dice one avacado
add a little chopped onion, cilantro and hot pepper
a dash of cumin and salt and a tsp of sour cream and lemon or lime juice.

Thanks for all of your suggestions. I don't know what the deal is, but I've become totally addicted to them. I can't believe I've never eaten them "straight up" before now.
Guess there's always something new in life to look forward to!!

I also love avocados with lemon sprinkled on. But an all time favorite sandwich is turkey, munser cheese (I blanked on the spelling b/c we always call it monster cheese) and avocado slices with a little dijon mustard.

To make guacamole I use a dry powder mix that is found in the produce section of the supermarket.. I think McCormick makes it, but don't quote me on that. We love it!
