I am so excited. Just made reservations for the cabins in June 2005. Just a couple questions.
1. Can you get a mickey wake up call in the cabins?
2. Do the cabins have cable TV with any special disney channels?
I am so excited! Just can' stop smiling!

Good question about the "Mickey Wake Up Call".
As for cable tv, there is at least one tv in the cabins, possibly a second one in the bedroom.
We're looking forward to our June vacation, too. Maybe we'll see you in only...

I am so excited. Just made our eservations for the cabins in June 2005. Just a couple of questions.
1. Is it possible to get a mickey mouse wake up call in the cabins?
2. Is shampoo; soap etc provided in the cabin bathrooms?
3. Is there cable TV with a resort channel?
Any input would be greatly appreciated!

The cabins have full cable.
Several resort channels. SOme feature timeshare/hotel experiences, others show what to do at disney world. Guess all hotels have the same cable from what I've experienced.
They have all the major networks like ABC, NBC. (Channel 9 news Orlando is the BEST if you want to see local news)
Also some fun stuff like the SOAP NETWORK if you're into soaps, you have the opportunity to see your favorite show when you're taking a break. THey have vcrs (maybe they've upgraded to dvd now, that I heard they replaced the TVs) anyway you can get rentals at the outpost located in the campgrounds.
They do have small bottles of shampoo, condition, lotion. toothpaste. They all come in MICKEY MOUSE containers. They do have daily maid service if you want it.
In general I would bring you're own shampoo products coz hotel stuff usually isn't what you want. princess:
YOU WILL LOVE THE CABINS!!!

oh and they also have "Disney radio and cartoons on for the kiddies.
You can get wakeup calls. You have a regular resort phone with call message service and stuff too. IF You use a cellphone remember its cheaper to do long distance on your cellphone.

We have camped at Fort Wilderness before...back in 2000. In 2003 we visited the world at Christmas but stayed offsite. It was nice, but a lot of the magic was missing. I am sure to have more questions. But now that those have been answered, I guess it's time for bed. Have to pay for the trip now! LOL Have a good night everyone!

Do you have to contact mousekeeping if you want maid service, or will they come without asking?

The default is that they will come by and clean your cabin and provide clean towels, soap, shampoo ... daily unless you put out the sign requesting that they not stop by that day.
DUring our last trip this past January, they did have a sign in the bathrooms requesting guests to reuse their towels to save the water that would be used to clean them. That was up to the guests.

Just a reminder for those of us heading to FW in June...It's only 6 months away! Finally my countdown is under 200 days. It's been well over a year since our last WDW vacation, and I'm going through serious withdrawl!
