It's been 5 days since we returned from our glorious week of pixie dust and that Disney magic has still got a hold on me. I'm distracted at work and find myself looking at the photos just one more time. DH and I have already been discussing ways we can save up to go again next November but what I really need to know now is -- once you are home and your time at Disnay is over what does everyone do to combat that feeling of vacation withdrawl and 'home' sickness for Disney??? Any tips would be helpful!

we go to Disney at least twice a year, and the withdrawal, each and every time, is awful.....only thing, honestly, that gets me
through are these boards.....

I totally know what you mean. We just got back this past week-end of 6 glorious days at CSR. I have probably watched my video at least 5 times already. I already have my pictures developed and placed in my new photo album I bought while in the world. I have taken it to work everyday this week and everytime someone new wants to look at it, I look at it with them!:) Makes me feel sooooo good. I will rely on these boards, (which I adore)
my video I recorded last week, and my pics to get me through until I can get back next December..........

My tip for getting through is to start planning my next trip. It makes me feel better to know that there WILL be another one.

I got home on Sept. 30th and have wicked withdrawal. After we got back I have sort of talked DH into going after Thanksgiving 2005. So I have started researching pricing for that time fo year. I keep looking at pictures and have been planning to scrapbook the trip, but I have been taking my time putting them in order.
I just don't know what to do between trips except come here and try to help others the way I have been helped soo much.

I would make my album and keep looking through it everyday and talking about it with the kids!! I do this with all my vacations. And Dream of the next one. You can watch Disney movies or the Disney channel! :p

I got back on Sunday night and I miss Disney :(. I think the worst part is I know I won't be going back until next October.
I'm getting the pictures developed tommorow so maybe that will cheer me up.

Do you have a Disney Store near by? It always helps me to go there and just look around and imagine that I'm in a Disney store at WDW. Dedicate a room to Disney in your house. I have one of my bathroom's with a huge Mickey on the shower curtain, a portrait of him, soaps from Disney, towels with Mickey icons on it, Micky hooks to hold them up, and a Mickey shaped rug.
But, the best cure is to always have a plan for your next trip to WDW and a countdown clock counting the days. You should think about joining the Disney Vacation Club. We are members and going on trips is not a money burden hardly at all now. Also, these boards are the best remedy, kind of a Disney support group on-line.
Hope this helped, Beth

Thanks for the input everyone. Things are looking up. Went to the Disney Store Online last night and DS (3.5 yr old) absolutely insisted on ordering the Mickey costume for Halloween this year. Too cute! Also found some great Disney paper at a local craft shop for the scrapbook and spent over an hour last night with an elderly neighbor couple looking through the pics - I'm not sure who enjoyed it more - me or them.

We leave Sunday for Disneyland! I know as soon as I return, I will be "homesick". How do I get over it?....I plan another trip. Even it if it is months away I plan and plan. It helps. It seems I am happiest when I know when I will return to Disney again.:D

I know wat you all mean! I got back from The World in January and I miss it so much. Unfortunately, we won't be goin back until at least next winter (hopefully):(. I love going to the Disney Store and getting my fix on all the Disney stuff. That helps. This board helps, too. Thank goodness I stumbled on it while helping my mom's friend plan their very first trip to Disney World (they loved it!)

When we got back from our Feb wdw trip I was bummed out for two weeks. My husband was so sick of it. I thought that I was crazy and that I was the only one. This was our first big vacation as a family and I thought that I missed the togetherness. Now I think that I love Disney more than I thought. My family went through a lot last year and our trip was the first time that I actually smiled again. we will be returning this Feb too and we will stay onsite at the WL. My DH and I are going to a Haloween party and I am going as Minnie. The new Aladdin dvd cheered me up too.

We bought a pictue book of WDW and the kids love to explain all of the pictures. They remeber every story and place that we visited. They are 3 and 5. That brings the magic right back for me. Yesterday my DH had a day off and asked my 5 yr. old son what he wanted to do today. He said "Lets go to Disney World." We live in Boston so it wasn't gonna happen. I LOVE DISNEY!

I find myself jealous of the people who are checking in as we are checking out. It is always hard coming back to reality after having such a wonderful fantasy.

I'm still going through withdrawl and what keeps me from feeling down is all the wonderful planning for the next Disney trip. I make Disney planning a part of my day.
I have a student who is a Disney freak like me so she keeps me happy by sharing her plans when we meet for class. It's nice to know someone else who has it bad for the Mouse too.
One last thing...these boards also helps me out with the "After-Disney Blues". :)
