Hi there,

Just a few questions about pricing things for a garage sale. Now keeping in mind that this is for our vacation, but on the other hand I am the queen of cheap. So being fair to all, I NEED HELP!

I have a variety of items, even got dh to clean out the garage.

1st thing. dh went to school to be a black smith, many many moons ago, and we still have the anvil, and all of the tools. Talked him into selling them - or at least putting them all out at the garage sale. There is close to 1500.00 worth of tools -(if bought new) All still in great shape. IDEAS ON PRICE??

All kinds of horse tack, I have pretty good ideas on this stuff.

Beany babies, .50 each???

variety of household items, different prices. CHEAP!!! don't want to haul it back to the house.

Kids toys.
majority of barbie stuff.
any ideas?

TIA

Beanie babies by us go for $2.00, wow 50cents is a steal, not even a bargain. The orginal prices here are $7.00, so I think $2.00 is fair. I did get a bunch for $1.00 each. We resold them at our school christmas fair.

I just sold Disney Beanies $2 each or 3 for $5 at our yard sale. Some I took a buck for, if asked. I wouldn't mark them less than $1 here in New England anyway.

Good luck!

I guess it depends where you live. Beanie Babies go for 50cents - $1 around here. No one would pay $2.

My DS went on a history trip Monday and had to do a report yesterday. While reading over his shoulder is see the word "anvil" and ask him what is that? Funny that I read that word in your post today. Sorry no help with pricing those items, but you may want to check out E-bay because those type of specialty items seem to do well there.

I, like you, price things reasonably. We had a great garage sale this summer. People often commented that the prices were reasonable and they didn't need to haggle. For the toys I would make them fairly inexpensive. I am happy when children are able to buy neat toys for $1 and are so excited.

Good luck.
