I remember a thread a while ago that said you can get free priorty boxes delivered to your home?? Am I correct?

I am back to selling again after taking the summer off, and having the boxes here would make packing them easier than going to my po & packing them up there!

How do I do this?? Thanks!

Hre you go... eBay Boxes (http://ebaysupplies.usps.com/)

I have tons of these boxes and if I have something that is not going Priority, I just wrap the box in brown paper. Love them!

Hey... frstimer128.... just a friendly word of warning. You are setting yourself up for a flaming by stating that you use USPS priority mail boxes for something other than Priority Mail. Far be it from me to be the one holding the flame torch, but there are other out there who will not hesitate to let you have it. And I believe it is possibly some sort of federal offense to use those boxes for other shipping methods. Just thought I'd warn you!.....P

Hate to let you know this, but everytime you wrap one of the boxes and ship other than priority, you are breaking the rules set out by the USPS for the free supplies.

In order to get the boxes for free, you have to acknowledge the user agreement and it states that the boxes are to be used for priority mail only.

Not meant to be a "Flame e-mail" just the facts from someone who ships 5-8 Priority packages a day and does about $5k per month on e-bay.

Thanks for the link...as to the others I fully intend to use these only for priorty mailing.

To other ebayers looking for "free" boxes...try your local stores.

I hit the grocery stores at NON busy hours...early am or just when the kids are getting out of school...they are only too happy to let me have as many as I would like. You can get different sizes depending on what is being unpacked that day.

This link will have many more More Priority Boxes (http://shop.usps.com/cgi-bin/vsbv/postal_store_non_ssl/display_products/productCategory.jsp?cat=Business+Use&prodCat=/Shipping+Supplies/Business+Use/2.+Priority+Mail) then the ebay link.

And yes you can get in MAJOR troubel by using the priority boxes to send none priorty mail. In fact my guess is that it would be considered a federal offense.

At least in my local post office they have shelves full of all sorts of mailing supplies...various size boxes, the plastic mailing bags, envelopes, etc. I know you can order them from usps.gov/ebay in various sizes also.

Had no idea it was an offense to use them for something other than Priority mail.

Here's a tip I use: Keep all cereal, pop-tart, toy, small appliance boxes. Turn them inside out and you have a clean brown or white box. We write on the outside of the box and reinforce the thin boxes with packaging tape. You have free boxes! My husband showed me how to do this. They are also great because they weigh less than thick cardboard boxes. Saves on shipping!

So glad to hear that there are 2 of us who did not know that rule!!:D

I am looking at an unused Priority Mail box. In two places on the box is the following:

This packaging is the property of the U.S. Postal Service and is provided solely for use in sending Priority Mail. Misuse may be a violation of federal law.

There is also, in two places, a translation of the above statement in Spanish.

There are several kinds of packaging materials at Post Offices. Anything that is premarked as either Priority Mail, Express Mail, or Global Priority Mail is available at no charge and can only be used for the class of service indicated. Anything else they have which is not marked for a specific class has to be paid for and can be used for any class of mail.

I have found (and use) a company that is a nationwide box wholesaler for purchasing boxes. It is called "Uline" and their web site is www.uline.com . They make almost every size imaginable, do not require ery large quantities, ship via UPS unless you have a very large order or get boxes too large for UPS to handle. They sell a lot of other packing supplies. (Do you want to buy a 20 cubic foot bag of styrofoam peanuts?)

You must agree to this when ordering shipping supplies from the Postal Service:

Terms of Agreement

I understand that Express Mail®, Priority Mail®, Global Express Guaranteed®, Global Express Mail® and Global Priority Mail® packaging is the property of the United States Postal Service and is provided solely for sending Express Mail®, Priority Mail®, Global Express Guaranteed®, Global Express Mail® and Global Priority Mail®. Misuse may be a violation of federal law.

Good luck on eBay!

I just wrapped something up in old light bulb boxes and then a white garbage bag. Hope I'm not violating the GE or HeftyBag code of ethics.;)

I never read the disclaimers.....guess I should start if I want to avoid federal penalty.

I, frstimer128, do hereby promise never to misuse a cardboard box again. Additionally, I solemnly swear to read all disclaimer statements and user agreements and abide by those rules agreed to by me.
