We had reservations for 50 Prime Time for dinner. This morning my boys informed me that they do not want to be the center of the antics, it would make for a bad experience. Got on the phone and changed to Hollywood Brown Derby. The menu seems more to our liking, is this a good choice? We also have reservations at Mama Melrose on the night we'll stay for Fantasmic.

Thanks
Belle

Thanks for the quick responce Disney Queen.:)
We have been hoping to try this restaurant, we just seem to always book something at a resort on our MGM night. This evening we did not want to leave the park.

You could always talk to your server at 50s Prime Time-

We went a few trips ago, and DH wasn't in the mood for the 'family' atmosphere. We asked for a quiet experience and they were happy to oblige. We enjoyed the antics at other tables- and were able to eat in peace.

Have a great trip!!

I think I'm somewhat in the minority when I say I didn't care for the Brown Derby. Whenever we do a sitdown at MGM (rarely) we go to Hollywood and Vine. Yeah, it's a buffet, but they have the best food out of the sitdowns there.

We enjoyed our meal at the HBD SO much that we went twice on our trip this June/July!

We like the 50's PT alot, have eaten there several times but sometimes we too, just want to enjoy a good quiet meal without any shenanigans. We found the menu to be very nice and greatly enjoyed the fact that it was a notch up from the typical fare offered elsewhere.

The cobb salad was a great choice for lunch, and don't pass on the grapefruit cake- it was spectacular! Our server was a very pleasant man who went out of his way to make our meal relaxing and enjoyable.

Wonderful, I'm so glad to hear positives on HBD. I'll miss not going to 50 Prime Time, but I don't want my boys to loose their happy face.

WE LOVED the Brown Derby! We had one of the best meals there and it was wonderful service. We don't have any kids, but we saw families there and their servers were very attentive. Loved the menu but I was there for 2 reasons: Cobb Salad and Grapefruit cake. HIGHLY recommended (although the cobb salad was definate chopped more than I thought it would be.) I can't wait to go back for another meal!

We really love the HBD, we tried the raviolo appetizer (yummy) and I had the Cobb Salad, DD had the BBQ Chicken Salad. LOVED the Cobb Salad, delicious! DD's salad was good, but not as good. We also loved the grapefruit cake.

BTW - when we had our young children at '50's PT years ago, they picked on DH rather than the kids. My kids still talk about the server making Dad eat his green beans!;)

We loved the Brown Derby. DH thought it was one of the best meals in WDW. The kids enjoyed it too. Don't miss the grapefruit cake.

Planning on the Brown Derby for our next trip. We have eaten at 50's a few times before and always had fun and a great meal. This past Sept. though the little girl at the next table (about 10yrs old) was literally in tears from the server.
