I recently returned a watch that I purchased in WDW to my local Disney Store. I had misplaced the receipt, so I was given a store credit. No problem - until I wandered around the store and realized there was absolutely nothing I wanted to buy! Horrible selection!

My question is - can I use this Disney Store store credit at the World of Disney at Downtown Disney?

Hi, DizMare! Unfortunately, your Merchandise Credit you received at TDS can not be used in the World of Disney. Although they are both part of the Walt Disney Company, TDS and WDW are seprate business units. Because of this, Merchandise Credits from one unit can not be used at another. The World of Disney is not a TDS, and this is why Merchandise Credits from TDS can not be used there.

Donna: No, Merchandise Credits can not be used for the purchase of Disney Dollars. Merchandise Credits are to be applied towards actual merchandise, and, for some strange reason, Disney Dollars are not considered merchandise.

Could the credit be used at disneystore.com? - I know anything you purchase on disneystore.com can be returned at TDS.

Hi, WDWTREKKER! Just as Merchandise Credits can not be used in WDW, they also can not be used on line. TDS brick and mortar stores are a seperate business unit than disneystore.com, so Merchandise Credits from one area can not be used at another. Hope this helps?

Do you need to buy tickets for the parks? You could use your credit for that. If not, how about buying possible gifts for others? That is what I do if I cannot find something I want. If you have kids, you could find some great gifts for them to give at parties. Store them up for the future. ( I guess this comes from living so far away from a decent store. We live fairly far out in the country.)
