View Full Version : ESPN Club & Monday night football? Okay or avoid at all costs?

We've never been to an ESPN Club or Zone but the kids have heard tons about them. So since the kids want to try this place (3 boys - 15, 11, 8) I worked it in but didn't even think about it being a Monday evening (Dec 20th). Will it be nuts by 6pm on a Monday night football day? Should we plan to eat earlier, say 4:30-5pm? Now dh says he wants to stay at ESPN club rather than going to MGM for Fantasmic's 2nd show (still crossing my fingers that a 2nd show is added!) so he may stay at ESPN and the kids & I go to MGM. Is it difficult to get back & forth; bus, walk, or boat?
Thanks for any tips or info!

We were there for a Thursday night football game in September and I think it was the first game of the season. Anyway, I can tell you it was LOUD! No shot for conversation at the table LOUD! It was also very crowded, but we got there at about 9pm after Fantasmic, so if you get there earlier it might not be so bad. Have fun!

if you arrive by 730 you will be fine. If you are planning to eat in the bar area its first come first serve the dinning room they will seat you. The only time it gets full is if some of the northeastern teams (new york, new england, green bay etc are playing) then alot of there fans turn up.

We did it the exact same night you are planning on going last year, and we had a blast! We arrived shortly after the game had started, and waited about 10-15 minutes for a table.
We brought along our youngest (4 months old at the time) who slept through the whole thing (and she's a light sleeper), so the noise level really wasn't too bad. We sat in the dining room, I think it was a little rowdier in the bar side.
Needless to say, it's on our schedule again this year (only with a babysitter booked for her back in the room) ::yes::
Have fun!

FYI, the ESPN Club at WDW is not the ESPN Zone. There really isn't the huge arcade area that the Zones have. There is a small, small arcade area, but it doesn't compare to the arcades at the ESPN Zones. The restaurant itself has all the TVs etc.....It is about a 15 minute walk from MGM to the Boardwalk and about a 15-30 minute boat ride depending on the line.

Okay, upon checking the nfl schedule, I expect big crowds! That particular Monday is New England vs Miami! I think we'll definitely head over by 6pm.

I have no experienced a monday night game there. But been there on several saturdays for college games. And its loud. But alot of fun. Trivia going usually guest appearances. LOTS AND LOTS OF FUN.
And being a Pat's / Dolphin game I would expect it to be busy. Lots of locals go here too.

Saturdays for college football is real busy and people stay at their tables all day so you might have to wait a long time. And a monday night game Miami vs Patriots will be packed especially after yesterdays pounding the Dolphins took :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

I have to say that for my husband and I, eating there and enjoying Monday night football is the best so it's a must for us. We will stand in line starting around 6:30pm or 7pm to make sure that we can get in time for kickoff at 9pm. I've averaged waiting in line at least one hour to get in for Monday night football but as I said for me it's worth it. I love the commentary before the game, I love the roudiness and spirit of all the footballs lovers in the room, and the large screen tv is awesome!
