Last night I saw a great price for a direct flight from Philly to MCO ($118) now (that I've decided to fly) it's up to $170 - for the same flight!! Not even 12 hours later?? IS this normal (I've only flown once before a LONG time ago)?? This flight isn't until Sept/Oct - do you think it will go down again? Now I'm not sure I can afford to fly. I knew airline prices were a tad fickle, but this is crazy!

I had the same experience. We have been watching for flights from Duluth, MN to MCO. The best price in the last two months has been $491.

Monday found a flight from Northwest (our main carrier) for $ 323. Purchased our tickets! The next day the flight was up to $493.

I am not sure why they change that fast, but I sure jump on them when I see them. We only fly to WDW, since it would waste to much of our vacation time to drive.

working for an airline in the res dept I can tell you that fares can change in as little as a few minutes. its the availability game. and then you must keep a watch out for fare wars too. when those hit bam you have to be quick to get that seat.

happens on a daily basis...same with car rentals.
