I've never been to Pleasure Island and don't plan on going on our next trip either, but I'm curious since I've been reading some recent posts about it. If it's just a nighttime entertainment complex, what is the big draw? Is there anything special about it to distinguish it from any other bar or adult entertainment district and make it worth the admission?
Maybe night clubs just aren't a big deal to me since I live in New Orleans. Not questioning anyone's decision to go there...just curious as to what the appeal is.

Dh and I don't go out much at home and neither of us are much for the typical nightclub atmosphere (we're not really dancers). We enjoy the Jazz club, the Comedy club, and there is just nothing like the Adventurers club, IMO. We didn't go on our last two trips though because it's just not a place I want to take my ds (and I'm really not sure others would appreciate me taking him in either, LOL). We'll go again in the future when we bring family along who are willing to "stay home" with him and when he's old enough to enjoy the kid's clubs.

It kind of depends on what you're into. When I was single, (and it was still there!) I loved to go to the country club and watch the line dancers. Tried it a couple times, but there's not much country music in Boston and I was abominable! We also liked the street vendors/shows and the celebration down at the end stage. It was just a fun night out and it was fun to flirt! Now that I'm married with two kids, I haven't been in awhile and don't really plan on it. But someday, I'll go back when I have a babysitter with me!
